I was planning on using the Creation kit tonight, but I can't log on to the Launcher. Can't log on to bethesda.net either. "Wrong username or password", it says... Those are not wrong. Not only have I written it down (because their annoying launcher won't remember it between my session which are far and wide between), but my browser remembers it, and I haven't changed it. However, requesting 'username' and 'password reset' don't work either. Nothing is sent, just the error message "Something wrong happened. Please try again". Which I did, again and again... Everything is "wrong" apparently, and I'm sure it couldn't possibly be Bethesda's fault... sigh Anyone else having issues? Will this blow over soon? Or, am I at the mercy of Bethesda's benevolent and ever increasing consumer friendliness?

Post Civil War Bounty Issue: Vanilla or Mod Mess?
vertikal replied to vertikal's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Yes, this was post Civil War. But, since half the mods on nexus exist for the sole sake of fixing annoying things (small and big), I just wanted to check first if this was one of those flawed vanilla things... I don't use that mod, but it might perhaps be "Populated Skyrim Civil War". It might be some other mod, but will take some time to figure out. Perhaps best to just move on  The patrol wasn't quite "on me" from the moment I woke up; they just happened to be at the inn. They made their move as soon as they became aware of my presence. After saving and loading a few times, I managed to get a half decent outcome: Hiding behind the wall, making preparations to storm for the door, pacing, lingering, strategizing :ninja: - by the time I was ready, they had actually left :pinch: Once I got outside, they were busy fighting imperial soldiers. No penalties for joining the fight then  -
So, I'm at that inn in Iverstead, in Imperial controlled Riften (post Civil War). I go to sleep unsuspecting, but when I wake up, a Stormcloak patrol has found me, and want to collect on my Stormcloak bounty. When I refuse, I get a Riften bounty added simply for defending myself. Soon after a few ordinary NPCs join the browl too. I wouldn't mind all this, if not for the Riften bounty. Some disgruntled Ulfric supporters just adds to the charm... However the Riften bounty makes the Imperial soldiers outside hostile as well, and for what?! Killing Stormcloak rebels, who btw attacked me first? That just annoying... Never played the Civil War quest before, so I wonder: Is this how it works, is it really this dumb, or have I somehow messed things up with some mod or another?!

Are you sure you need it? Everything is here: https://steamdb.info/app/489830/depots/, but the language packs haven't changed. I think all language versions share a common .exe, which means that the language options are probably just addons.

You can find older versions for all your Steam games by following this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=889624474 Try left click SkyrimSE.exe and select properties. Under the details tab, click on "Remove Properties and Personal Information". A new box appears. Don't edit anything, just see if the version number has changed, click ok. Worked for me... No idea why Some of your mods might be dependent on the old core files as well... Try to download the previous core files by following the guide that I posted a link to above. The core files are 8 GB though, so it might take a while. could someone please explain this to me because i dont speak computer. its all gibberish to me, but id like to be able to play my game without deleting my mods. Start by reading post #14, maybe it helps.
-
This command only summons the previous SkyrimSE.exe version, which will fool SKSE64 to think you are running an older version of the game. To actually restore the game fully to its previous state, you have to summon the core files as well. Those are 8GB, so would take a while. It seems unnecessary in this case (but it might perhaps decrease the chances of getting save game corruption).

Glad to be of service, it was a very uplifting discovery. Cdredz (the guy responsible for presenting these much simpler and cleaner steps than I was able to), have since created a dedicated thread for it. I doubt it will get pinned, but at least it will be easily accessible when people search for solutions later  (Since he basically "stole" my thunder by presenting his much simpler steps (which undoubtedly is mighty appreciated), I didn't bother give him cred initially  )

Ok... When and where do you get that message? In the console? When you attempt to launch, or...?! Just try to start over by following these cleaner steps: 1. Start by pressing win+R, and then pasting: steam://nav/console 2. A steam console should appear now, just paste the following line: download_depot 489830 489833 911281757511576655 3. The v1.5.3 exe will downloaded to [...]steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489833 4. Just go to where the exe was downloaded and paste the old exe inside your root skyrim folder replacing the "new" one. If it doesn't work, have Steam validate you game files (it will download what's missing...) Then start over.

Guys, it's all good  A well kept secret: How to roll back game versions in Steam these days: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=889624474 The following will sound pretty complicated, but it really isn't (Though admittedly, would be better if Steam simply had an in-built function): First, you have to enable console in the Steam client. You do so by adding '-console' to the your Steam shortcut target... Just go to shortcut properties, find 'Target' and make it look like this: C:\...\Steam\Steam.exe - console. Restart Steam... If you don't have a shortcut, make one... Then follow the instructions linked: Both SSE core and SSE exe have been updated, so it is probably wise to download both. However, if you are impatient, you can test if it's sufficient to simply downloading the old .exe (should be quick). If SKSE won't accept the old exe, I have posted my solution to that in the comment section at the linked site. Look for safariBehn... Don't use any brackets on the console command, not even these [ ] for the manifest ID, just use plain numbers.

I haven't had any problems running SKSE64, until today either... Game won't start after forced Steam update

What happened to The Rebel by L0rd0fWar?

I really like the raider/gunner harness, but I feel like a dick with no shirt on. Does anyone feel like adding a withered singlet or a undershirt to it?

Mod Request; No level restrictions
vertikal replied to u1stplease's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Mod Ideas
Gawh, I hate that restriction! Makes this game such a drag. Not much fun finding treasure when you have to wait for ages before you can use it, and always end up selling it, because why bother... The stupid rule doesn't make any sense either. -
I went to Paradise Falls to rescue my sister, who I got through the mod "Ties that Bind". The gate keeper gave conditions for entry, so I said "f*** that", and shot him in the face. Needless to say, they took quite offense. Then there is Clover. A brainwashed slave, with a mean gun, who keeps raising from the dead... How to deal with her? Will she ever go away?! Why can't I just put out her out of her misery? Does she serve any further purpose? I know you can buy her, but then you have to be friends with the slavers, something I'm clearly not  I don't remember having this problem in previous play-throughs. According to the wiki, she shouldn't even be essential. Possibly FWE messing things up with it's follower plugin, as she is a potential follower... Edit: It was FWE, so nevermind. I fixed her in GECK :)

Fallout Wanderers Edition Crashing?
vertikal replied to EVOriginal's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Thanks for the load order. Unfortunately it did not work, but I went back to the mod page, something I should have done to begin with I suppose... Sorry about that. There was a hotfix I had missed. It solved the problem :) -
Fallout Wanderers Edition Crashing?
vertikal replied to EVOriginal's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Hey, decided to resurrect this thread because title fits my problem. Not sure if anyone still around, but figured that since the Fallout 4 announcement, there may be others experiencing an expedited relapse... Maybe even someone mod clever :P I have FWE installed (I've always been a FOOK guy, so this is the first time for me). There wasn't any troubles until Paradise Falls. Simply can't enter the slaver compound, instant ctd. I can enter if I un-check FWE (with all it's plugins). I can not enter with only FWE checked. Must be some missing FWE stuff that the slavers are supposed to have, but for some reason do not... I use FoMM. The load order when only loading FWE is as following: Fallout3.esm Anchorage.esm BrokenSteel.esm Zeta.esm ThePitt.esm PointLookout.esm Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm CRAFT.esm CALIBR.esm FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm --- FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC BrokenSteel.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - Alternate Travel.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - Followers Enhanced FO3 Wanderers Edition - Followers Enhanced (BrokenSteel).esp (I've tried just loading with the last Follower plugin checked, I'm not sure if I need both) I have verified that FALLOUT.ini has the following settings: uGridsToLoad=5 bUseThreadedAI=1 INumHWThreads=2 FOSE installed correctly. Machine stats (shouldn't be the culprit): i7 4720hq gtx 980m 8gb RAM SSD -
Thanks everybody! And especially you, good ser ^... I did in fact forget the 's', and just got more and more frustrated ;) And to the Necro-police: Just don't... This thread is forever relevant!

LE Horses stay put/ownership reset when owner dies
vertikal replied to Juranas's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
*Bump* There is one mod on the nexus which did change how ownership worked called 'owned', but it is set to hidden by the author for some unknown reason (I'm sure it's a very dumb reason, can't think of a good reason why he/she might have found it necessary)... It is odd that so few people misses it too, cause no substitute has to my knowledge been made for it. I used to consider it an essential. The most retarded thing about how vanilla game deals with ownership now in relation to horses and dead men, is when you take a dead man's horse to town and try to re-mount it there, everyone in the bloody town knows it is not your horse and will attack. It's so goddamn silly and can't be considered anything but a failed game mechanic! Please, anybody, share if you know about mods that changes how death affects ownership of various things. -
I have issues with control. Holding any move button (awsd) for prolonged times (As you do), results in the character continuing to move in any of those directions, even when I release the buttons. This is not because I accidentally hit q (which only is autowalk in forward direction). This glitch affects all directions. I've had mods installed. I have now deactivated and removed all, except nvse. I have verified the the game cache and tested in vanilla mode. Still the problem persists. There's another button affected too (probably all of them), and that is f. Sometimes the camera behaves as if I'm holding f down and rotates around the character... Any suggestions what may cause this? Haven't been able to find anything about this on my own...

I feel this is a very unique problem, that apparently only happens to my system. I see shadowy square contours of object (like 2D projection) floating around. Not all objects, but always some, never the same ones each time. Animals have brown contours, and I can see all of them through any terrain, walls and other features, often from afar. This problem has persisted all since the launch of the game for me, and therefor I have never been able to enjoy it. I have for a longest time hoped it was just a driver issue, and have therefor been waiting for an update that would fix it, but none of them has so far. I just updated. I don't think it's a driver issue anymore, and wonder if there's some fault with my hardware. I've noticed that my computer often uses unreasonably long time opening menus and various toggles in many games and programs, as if freezing for a couple of cycles. Otherwise, 3D graphics seem to render just fine in all other games I've played. I run a amd Radeon hd 7970m i7-3610qm 16GB Ram SSD (what else is relevant?) It should be able to run the game decently. Reducing graphics does not help. Running it with dx9 doesn't help either. The shadows persist.

*Bump* Sorry :) Just wondered if anyone knows about any good mods for this by now? Which either makes them less powerful (preferably), or simply removes them completely? I agree with Bearget that it is a nice feature, in theory, but I'm at level 3 or 4 in the middle of a ice wasteland (no where to hide or find help)! Would be more fun if, at this early stage in the beginning, if it were just some local low-life who thought they could take you down.

Found one. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/17369 Called 'Urge Wasters Scarf Fallout 3 Edition' now.

Bump The above link is now defucted. I'm trying to find a shemagh I've seen on loads of mod uploader's photos.
