So I decided to do a complete wipe and start over from scratch. Uninstalled and deleted all Skyrim and NMM files, and double checked to make sure there was no NMM data left on that HDD.
I moved any mod archives that I wanted to keep into a new folder so that I wouldn't have to redownload everything.
Reinstalled Skyrim, booted it up to make sure it worked - everything is fine.
Reinstalled NMM, ran it to make sure it wasn't finding any old files - it was completely empty, perfect.
Installed about 100 mods while testing, everthing was going fine, and then NMM crashed. Oh well, that always happens. No biggie.
I opened NMM again to find this:

This is exactly what I wanted to avoid, as this happened to me on an old computer and completely ruined everything as it "force" installed missing files. I went from 100 freshly installed mods to 336 "ghost" mods.
How is it even finding these mods that aren't on my computer anymore? I remember deleting those folders with he mod data and uninstalling NMM completely. I just don't understand.
Anyway, what can I do to make sure this doesn't completely screw me over? I tried switching mod profiles but it just ends up being the same thing.

Okay I know this is a REALLY old thread, but I'm playing through Skyrim again, and I've just encountered this problem. After TRYING to debug my borked game.
I've tried the unofficial patch, the "Showracemenu" fix, and removing all but the save files. As suggested above. But nothing seems to work.
I have magic, heal, set to one of my quick keys. As soon as I switch to that, my hands are stuck. I can use the spell, or hold any other weapon.
I've had MAJOR problems with skyrim constantly the last few days. Everytime I fix one issue, another arrises. This being the latest.
Any other advice would be greatly apriciated.
Do you have any attack speed edits? If you have more than one (Disparity adds one if you use that, as do many other mods), it will definitely have problems. If you have one try disabling it.
If that doesn't work, try this in the console command; player.setav weaponspeedmult 1
^this is the default value. I've had it happen to me a few times and that usually fixes it.

Last option I can think of was a fix used a long while back. I thought it was fixed through a patch but who know, it might help.
Open your Skyrim.ini file (usually in Documents>My Games>Skyrim, you'll have to right-click and edit it that way), and look for the [ARCHIVE] section. Add the line bInvalidateOlderFiles =1 to that section.

^Add it right to the bottom of the [ARCHIVE] section. Mine doesn't have that line since I don't need it, but it might help you.
The only other thing I can say is I hope you have a legit Skyrim version, as pirated versions will not work with almost all mods, and it can get you banned.

So as I've said there are some mods that are not in my plugins in the NMM program. They are listed as mods there but not as plugins. I went to check steamapps>common>skyrim>data aka where all the mods are located and there are many mods that I have in the NMM program that are not listed here (these are all the mods that don't have any plugins). I also installed LOOT and they are not there either. I only see these mods in the mods section in the NMM programand in the NMM mods folder. I don't know why this is happening to some mods or how to fix it. I'm guessing all I can do is just uninstall those mods and then install them manually instead?I installed LOOT and clicked sort plugins but my armor mods still don't work (whenever I equip an armor piece my character's body goes invisible) and other mods still don't work and still don't have any plugins which I'm fairly certain they should have since they don't work. No, it's fine. So, are the mods that are missing from your plugins supposed to contain an .esp or .esm file? For example;
You have the INIGO mod, which contains a "plugin", or .esp file in order to make it work. eg; INIGO.esp in your plugins list.
On the other hand, you have Covereyes4, a mod which has no plugin as it is a simple texture replacer mod.
If you were to extract the Covereyes4 archive to a temporary location, it would have a set of folders which look like this: Data>Textures>...ect. Mods like this don't have an attached plugin file, which means you won't see it in your plugin list or in your data folder.
In short, not all of your mods will show in your plugins list. For example I have ~300 total mods, but only 233 plugin files.
As for the armour mods, try redownloading them manually. Some files may have been lost from downloading through NMM, especially if the mod is bigger in size. This has happened to me a few times in the past.
Also make sure you're downloading the right files too! Looking at Tribunal robes, there's two main files, but one seems to be a bugfix, so you'll need to download both in this case.
edit; Also if it seems like your mods which have no esps are also not working correctly, try downloading them manually as well.Once your archives are downloaded, you can just drag the archive from your downloads folder (or wherever you downloaded it to) on your HDD, and then dragging them to the "Mods" section in NMM, and wait for it to transfer.

LOOT is a mod sorting program, it basically puts all of your mods in the right order so they play nice with each other. Any mod guide will tell you to either get LOOT or BOSS(quite outdated, don't use this one). Also try downloading your mods manually and putting the zip files into NMM itself, just drag and drop. And no problem (: Everyone has to start somewhere. I've been modding off and on for 5 years now and I still get stuck! Good luck!

Hey all.
Just decided to come back and play after a few months, bit I can't seem to get past the Imperial logo on startup, with no sound, text, or fog.
I updated a few mods (Legacy of the Dragonborn, PerMa, ETaC, cliffside cottage, and Vividian/vivid weathers), remerged and rebashed, and ran DSR and PerMa patcher.
Ran LOOT and TES5Edit with no errors.
I haven't tried disabling mods yet since it takes 2+ hours for the patchers to run each time.. hoping someone with better eyesight might see a conflict somewhere before I get to (painstakingly) trying that out.

Do you have precachekiller installed? It's a must if you add massive customization mods like Apachii

So about 5 hours ago I updated NMM to version 0.60 and it seemed to have ran smoothly.
When it was done I noticed that in the hour that it ran, it only really installed 5 out of 200+ mods.
Anyway after installing everything again in the correct order and using both LOOT and TES5EDIT to make sure I have everything installed right, I get a CTD after 5 seconds of the Dragon logo. I immidiately thought it was a master file missing, but I've been at this for 4 hours and cannot find anythign missing. My Papyrus logs say I'm missing scripts for mods I have never even used before(and installed after the fact to see if it would fix anything is; RND with patches). Anyway, any help figuring this out would be great.
PS; my game was running smoothly with no problems before updating.

I removed anything ending in =0 since those are extras from certain mods that should not be activated.
SSE not opening via launcher or SKSE
in Skyrim SE

Hi all!
Just wondering if anyone can help me troubleshoot.
I've just started modding SE and have the latest version of SKSE64 (2.0.7) with mods that require it.
Whenever I try to start SKSE through NMM or not through NMM, the cmd prompt shows up for a second or so and then disappears, and they Skyrim doesn't start.
Starting the game via the launcher also does not work. Clicking play closes the launcher but the game doesn't start.
LOOT is sorted, SSEEdit shows no errors, I have a bashed patch, and masters are cleaned. Tried restoring the backup plugins as well in case something was messed up during cleaning.
RaceMenu and Realistic Animation mods are converted for SSE.
SKSE64 is added as an exception to my firewall.
Game loaded up fine before installing mods, made a test save just to make sure the game was running.
No sure what else I can do to troubleshoot here.
Here's my order if anyone can help!
