  1. ^ Same here. She won't leave me alone. Tried the 'set playerfollowercount to 0' command, as well. No luck.
  2. The content is great...when it actually works. I'd give it time. Here are some of the bugs I experienced :First, I couldn't actually progress through the quest line for a month due to an error that my papyrus log identified as DLC2PillarBuilder script, or something along those lines. It mysteriously sorted itself out a few days ago and I was finally able to finish the quest, but the battle at the end of the final arc of the main quest was absolutely broken. After hours and hours of effort, I managed to finally 'fix' it by changing my quest progression with the console, but I had to use the 'coc' command to warp back to Skyrim. I had loads of annoying issues with Dawnguard, too, since I was using a custom race in my previous save, but Dragonborn was even more annoying for me, personally. Which is a shame, because Solstheim itself is awesome. As far as mods being dependent on Dragonborn, I don't really see that being an issue, overall. There aren't any truly notable new features, imo - dragon taming/riding is largely forgettable. I'd wait for it to go on sale.
  3. It shouldn't have anything to do with SKSE. I think that may have happened to me once before, too. If I recall correctly, I think I fixed the problem by going into fraps and ticking the Monitor Aero Desktop (DWM) option. Hope that helps.
  4. Update! So I might have possibly found a fix - if I can figure out what to do from this point. I re-loaded a save from when I was fighting Miraak and input the following into the console : Setstage dlc2mq06 550. It made Miraak dissolve, and I absorbed his soul and was able to loot his corpse, but...now I seem to be stuck, for the time being. The good news being, after I absorbed his soul, the music stopped! Bad news is, he wasn't impaled, so the black book to return to Solstheim never appeared. I tried inputting a few coc commands to teleport elsewhere, but they didn't work. I'll keep working at it. Update - 'coc whiterun' worked! Fast-travelled back to Solstheim, and everything seems to be working just fine now. Wish I would've discovered the fix earlier so I could have told ya, RomanGlvac. Bethesda really needs to get their s*** together. I can understand why they have so many bugs, overall, but honestly, I don't see how near game-crippling issues like this go unnoticed by the development team and/or any testers they might employ.
  5. Ughhh, I've already had to completely uninstall the game and start with a clean save once before, though...@_@ Not sure if I want to bother with it again. After a combined total of 500+ hours on the PC and PS3, I might just settle for playing with the music off. As much as I enjoy it, I've pretty much had it permanently burned into my memory after all this time. Still, this sucks. >.>
  6. I know you posted this a few days ago, and you may or may not have discovered a fix, but I just encountered the same issue. When he went ethereal after killing and absorbing all the dragon souls, he just stood still in the center of the area. I managed to 'fix' it by hiding behind a pillar and remaining undetected. I'm still not sure exactly what happened - I left the room for a few minutes, and when I came back, the quest was completed and I could return to Solstheim. I could still talk to Miraak, and I tried attacking him. He had a full health bar, but it didn't do anything when it went down to 0. If you try this method, though, be warned that there's apparently a very, very annoying consequence. Combat music, for me at least, is now stuck in a loop. I'm guessing it's all glitched up because I didn't finish the fight with Miraak correctly, because I couldn't, because he's buggy as can be. Currently looking for a fix.
  7. The amount of problems I've run into with the Dragonborn DLC is too damn high. After a month of not being able to progress through the quest line because of sheer broken-ness, a couple days ago I was finally able to proceed normally without a CTD. Everything went swimmingly until I began "At the summit of Apocrypha". First, I encountered a couple random CTDs. No biggie. Reloaded, managed to get to the part where I'm supposed to tame and ride the dragon with the ugly-ass texture, and I kept getting stuck in the air in a sitting position as the ugly dragon flew away. Now, I probably could have switched off collision with the console and made my way to Miraak that way, but I figured that might lead to more complications, so I stuck it out and managed to find an easy enough fix. "Huzzah!" I exclaimed, "Now I can finally rush off to defeat Miraak!" Not so, it would seem. The wanker wound up getting stuck in his ethereal form every damn time. Nothing worked. I tried killing him through the console so many damn times, and I reloaded the fight and approached it differently each time (adjusting difficulty, weapons, letting the ugly dragon do most of the work, etc). After an hour of immense frustration and overblown, unhealthy rage, I finally managed to 'beat' him when I hid behind a pillar, and went away from my computer and into another room to wallow in despair for a few minutes. When I returned, lo and behold, Miraak was suddenly in the air with a tentacle through his chest, and though I had utterly no idea what had transpired, I could return to Solstheim! Finally! Except more wankery was incoming, as I soon discovered the combat music was stuck in a loop. Not only that, but it was looping over the existing Skyrim music, making for an even more annoying experience. I tried reloading my save from the fight with Miraak and repeating the same method (remaining hidden to trigger whatever happened the last time around), but after a few minutes of silently waiting in seclusion for the jackass to get out of his ethereal form, nothing happened, and I ragequit and came here to b&@*$ and moan. But in all seriousness, I really would appreciate some help here. :I Anyone else experience an issue like this?
  8. Good point. Hmm. Can't say I know anything about this. Is the player character supposed to be able to be killed with a kill animation?
  9. I honestly can't remember if I've ever been killed with a kill animation, either. Never really thought about it. I prefer killing my enemies over having them kill me.
  10. To be honest, I hardly ever noticed tree animations prior to stumbling across this mod - Windy Skyrim. After having used it for a few hours, the effect is very nice. Trees won't animate if I switch on my ENB, because that sets me right around 30 fps or just slightly below, but with my ENB disabled, the effect is very prominent in most instances.
  11. I only have 4gb of memory, myself - I noticed I would randomly crash of Skyrim would stop responding much more often on my old save file. I did a complete reinstall and started up a new save the day Dragonborn came out, and I've experienced a much more consistently stable game experience since. For the most part. Point being, your memory should suffice just fine, though it's always a good idea to exit out of as many other background processes as you can prior to playing. Skyrim, unfortunately, can be a real bastard over time when it comes to modding. Bad scripts, save bloating, seemingly endless load times, random CTDs - these are all issues I experienced with my previous save at around 90 hours in. The more mods you introduce into the game, the more likely it is to come across complications. Do you have your Papyrus log enabled? You could probably figure out which of your mods (if any) is causing you to crash. I had an issue just recently where I crashed whenever I tried to leave Whiterun through the gate, but I could fast travel out just fine. I stopped playing for a day or two, came back, and the problem had mysteriously sorted itself out. Skyrim's weird like that, sometimes.
  12. Admittedly, I'm no expert, but I just did some digging. If your monitor's refresh rate is 60hz, and you currently have vsync enabled, you might possibly be experiencing issues as a result, from what I gather. There's a program out there called dxtory that can limit FPS - it's recommended to limit yourself to 59 FPS if vsync's the cause of any of your issues. Just throwing ideas out there; I have no idea if vsync is what's causing your stuttering. It could be something else entirely. I don't think I've played with vsync off, actually, so I might disable it and see what happens. Like I said, I've been experiencing something similar to what you're describing. My frame rate stutters way more often than it ever actually dips.
  13. Do you have vsync enabled? I sometimes get FPS stutters too, but I always just chalk it up to Skyrim being Skyrim. My specs are significantly lower than yours, as well. I still manage to play at 40+ FPS in exteriors with my ENB disabled, and around 30 with it enabled. It'll dip every now and then in areas like Whiterun and Windhelm, but for the most part, it runs as well as can be expected. I have noticed some FPS stutters a bit more frequently as of late in interiors, particularly in dungeons. It doesn't bug me too badly, because I manage 50-60 frames in interiors at all times, but it might be a similar issue to what you're describing. Is your FPS stutter more along the lines of an actual stutter, or does it dip in and out? Mine seems to be split-second stutters, most notable in interiors, particularly when I'm sprinting. Is it like that? I'm not sure what causes it for me. Maybe the fault lies with the Skyrim HD texture packs I have installed, but the issue seems to have only cropped up recently. *shrugs* What sort of mods are you running? Maybe something you have installed is pushing your PC particularly hard in the areas you mentioned. Even though you have some pretty beefy specs, Skyrim can still be finicky and resource-intensive. Static mesh improvements, HD textures, mods that add NPCs, etc - I imagine that those sort of mods might have an impact on performance in that case, possibly. But I could be wrong.
  14. By Talos, after a month of frustration, it...it's working. o.O I just went through the temple of miraak with absolutely no problems! I must have saved around 50 times throughout the dungeon in anticipation of a CTD, but...everything went perfectly. :D w00t! I really don't know what in particular fixed it - I noticed my unofficial Skyrim patch was out of date, so I downloaded and installed the newest version. Other than that, the only thing I did was change Dragonborn.esm's location in my load order. I did encounter an oddity, however. I went to go sleep in my bed in Severin manor, and when I woke up, my character froze in third person for a moment, and suddenly, I entered into a loading screen. Immediately after, I found myself at the wind stone, and I decided to make the trek towards the temple of Miraak. I've got no complaints, I just found it rather odd. Still, everything seems to be working! I'm still cautious, though. If I run into any more DLC2PillarBuilder script errors, I'll be sure to post them here. In the meantime, I've got my fingers crossed. As far as the issues with bad scripts, when I initially did the fresh install, I decided to go ahead and create an entirely new character. My previous save was riddled with stutters, and I figured a clean install wasn't going to solve all those issues in and of itself.
  15. I'm desperate for an answer myself. I'd like to be able to actually play the DLC I paid for. >.< I'm currently installing some new mods and changing up my load order. I just noticed I didn't have Dragonborn in the 'ideal' location in my load order - I've moved it to just below Hearthfire. I highly doubt it'll make a difference, but you never know. If I still experience the same CTD (which, I'm guessing, I probably will), I think I'll buckle down and finally contact Bethesda about it to see if they have any light to shed on the situation. Not that I don't have faith in the Nexus community, but it really seems like no one knows what's going on with this issue. I really don't want to do a fresh install and lose all my mods. I have everything set up so that I get almost no CTDs, and I still manage around 110 mods active at once. Game plays beautifully aside from this one consistent issue with the temple of Miraak and the (very) occasional CTD that I typically end up fixing right away. I screwed over my first Skyrim save by going crazy with mods, and I don't want to have to start from scratch again just because of some annoying issue with the DLC, especially when the rest of the game works without a hitch. Besides, I have a feeling that doing a fresh re-installation might not even fix it, which would be REALLY frustrating.
  16. Update - the issue seems to have fixed itself. I didn't do anything, but I won't complain. :P
  17. Bump. Just in case someone's found a fix in the last week or so. @_@
  18. Hmm. From what you've listed, it doesn't seem like you should be getting the gray-face bug. You say all the females are dark-skinned? And I assume you've tried it with your ENB both on and off? Sometimes I'll run across some weird graphical quirks when using an ENB. Normally it doesn't bug me too much, but if it does, I just shift+F12 and that normally makes the issue go away. Tends to work if I run across someone with an oddly-dark face texture, too. I've experienced the same issue myself, before; normally it's an easy enough fix, but sometimes, it can be a hassle to find out what's the root of the problem. I'd recommend uninstalling your texture packs one at a time for now, just to see if that makes a difference.
  19. I noticed that it took some time for my logs to be created when I initially enabled it. Could have just been that.
  20. I still don't think the crash is the fault of Deadly Mutilation - the last script before the crash, lvlpredatorscript, seems unrelated. But I'll look into it.
  21. The issue, so far, seems to be limited to that area. Last I checked, I could still fast travel out of Whiterun without any problems, and I haven't suffered any CTDs in other locations. Here's the last few lines from my papyrus log prior to the crash. Any help would be appreciated. I briefly activated it, then deactivated it, and now my log is filled with such errors. It doesn't seem to be a huge issue, overall, and I doubt that's what's causing me to crash. I could be wrong, though.
  22. And you have "bEnableLogging=1" and "bEnableTrace=1" in your Skyrim_default.ini, right? If not, that's strange. :I *nods* Yeah. I keep coming back to Skyrim, anyway, but still, it would be nice to not have to deal with issues like this that make certain aspects of the game unplayable. : / Oh well. I suppose it can't be helped, with a game this big.
  23. You mean, you can't find them? Papyrus logs are located at C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script. I know what you mean, though. I've all but given up, myself. I was really excited about Dragonborn, but my excitement's pretty much dead after well over a week of struggling with this issue. : /
  24. Huh...interesting. I thought it was a problem limited to some aspect in DB's questline. I have yet to experience any issues outside of Solstheim. I checked my grids in Skyrim Config and they're set to 5 - I've never tinkered with 'em.
