  1. Help button at the right corner of the launchers in the status bar of Wrye Bash (or manually open Oblivion/mopy/Wrye Bash.html). Or for a quick and really helpful overview with pictures and everything see Alt3rn1ty's Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide for Newbies. Pacific Morrowind
  2. I'd be almost willing to bet that you have version 275? some Actors.x tags were added initially in 278, and the rest since then IIRC. Update to 290 would be my suggestion. Pacific Morrowind
  3. (and basically identical other error) The problem is that you have Oblivion installed to Program Files where Window's UAC is being nasty and not letting Bash access the files to change them (timestamps or data)... fix is to (best) install Oblivion to a non UAC controled directory - C:\Games\Oblivion is a common choice - or (not as good of a fix) give Python administrative permisions/run as administrator or worst (due to resultant increased security risks) disable UAC. Pacific Morrowind
  4. Wrye Bash willl work fine with 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7 of Python; the recommended is 2.6 (for years it was 2.5 though). What you need to do is either install Wrye Python03a (on the downloads tab of the ) or manually install wxPython 2.8.11.0 ANSI, Comtypes 0.6.2, pywin32 214 all for python 2.6. then it should work fine. If not working after that then do a bugdump (cmd->cd to oblivion/mopy dir -> type: C/python26/python.exe "wrye bash launcher.pyw" -d), then analyze the bugdump or post it here for analysis. 5. in that case you need to download the 1.2x patch... the patch is available from teh official pages. Get the one that is applicable for your version (ie SI or Not, and language) Pacific Morrrowind
  6. when making requests of this kind it is very much the done thing to give a bit of a description of how you want it to look or a rough sketch or something; I'd certainly recommend that. Pacific Morrowind
  7. 291 which is the in dev version (which I'm really really hoping to release by the end of the week) has had that fixed since a couple days after release of 2990. Pacific Morrowind (one Wrye Bash's developers if you haven't been following the developement of Bash lately - er last year and a half anyways)
  8. AFAIK that is a bug with the way the feather spell is scripted (as in a vanilla game bug not a damaged save game or bad mod)... it is fixable with an OBSE script (in an ugly hackish sort a way) and certainly fixible with an OBME mod. Pacific Morrowind
  9. that i s in most cases correct however if it is a {{BASH:Filter}} mod then if merged into the bashed patch it is fine (specifically thinking in this case of the COBL FILTER MERGE ONLY Patch (IIRC the name correctly)). in regards to techgeek42's questions: 1. that means select the mod in any import * section that it is in that you desire its features (in most cases all - mianly optional is for example names is very much personal preferences) in the bashed patch build dialogue and leave the mod file itself NOT active. 3. if they are mergeable they'll show up in the merge patches section of the buiild patch dialogue (and in most cases you should select them there in that case) - if you don't want to merge a modfile just don't select them there and rebuild the patch. 10. er what locations does it say that?... on the main thread (on the Bethesda forum) I've stated in the last week that I'm plan on having 291 out very soon... Pacific Morrowind
  11. No Problem; after all it can happen to any one... glad I could help. Pacific Morrowind
  12. As the MMM readme states... It is on the hillside to the east of the Anvil Castle (quite close (just up the hill basically) to the DLC Thieves Den if you have that) Pacific Morrowind
  13. or another very simple method; install PyFFIand make this batch file/run in cmd line: C:/python26/scripts/niftoaster.py modify_collisiontype -a static "C:\Path\To\Mesh(es)" ; modifying as needed the python path for your isntalation. ; teh valid type to set teh collision to via this method are: static, animstatic, clutter, terain, weapon, non_collidable Pacific Morrowind
  14. wasn't implying that you were (though I admit it was on my list of possibilities since I haven't had any interactions with you)... okay if not that then 1. Try leaving the area and waiting 72hrs (or respawn time if different) and coming back (or better yet do #2) 2. test witha new game) If still no go: open the esp again in the cs and make sure it saved correctly. if still no go post the esp here for a check to see if one of us cna spot whats up. Pacific Morrowind
  15. Easiest method would be to use Tes4edit and remove all worldspace/cell edits except for the testing hall ones. (you can also do that with the cs but it is way slower method) EDIT: also NPC and container records if needed. Pacific Morrowind
  16. did you activate the esp in the Oblivion launcher (or Wrye Bash or OBMM depending on your preferences)? EDIT: Didn't see Hickory's response before posting so didn't realize you had another thread. Pacific Morrowind
  17. Not to sound heartless or cruel but... yes :D ... okay on to business in which that statement will make sense ;) I've heard of this particular crash before but was unable to fix it previously (like a year or so ago) however I've had some ideas since that last occured for anyone that I'd heard of, and since I never managed to replicate it on my end I haven't been able to test them... So I'm wondering if you could upload/pm/email (pacificmorrowind<at>gmail<dot>com) the save file (and cosaves if you use OBSE )? I'm 75% certain that I'll be able to make a Wrye Bash fixer for that particular error. thanks; EDIT: While I was looking; just added your one unknown mod to the BOSS masterlist, the other one is already in (got added fairly recently) Pacific Morrowind
  18. what Hickory said: will almost certainly fix your current problem (that problem was fixed in 286, unless it is another almost identical problem that is masquerading but that's pretty unlikely). If you're not registered on Bethsoft feel free to post the BOSS unknowns in the BOSS thread here; just be aware that I'm usually slightly slower because file comments are currently emailed about even when you're watching the topic unless they are posted directly via the forum. Pacific Morrowind
  19. ah of course easy to fix... however need some info from you first: what size (in bytes) (and version) is your Nehrim.esm? The problem is that Wrye Bash is not designed for Nehrim but with very minor changes and it'll be happy - lucky thing that one of Wrye Bash's developers (that'd be me) saw this thread... usually better to put this in Bash's thread btw - more likely to see it faster. Pacific Morrowind
  20. 1 Install vanilla OB 2 Install SI 3 Install SI Patch if required (depending on what version you already have) 4 Install OBSE 5 install OOO 6 RUN game and make sure it is working right. (if not troubleshoot it and post here again if needed to fix it) 7 install misc mods 8 install & run BOSS (highly massively recommended if you don't have much idea as to setting your own LO. Should be good to go :) Pacific Morrowind
  21. make sure that you extracted to the right place ( so that the *.kf files in there are copied to oblivion\data\meshes\characters\ (and subfolders) - and said yes to overwrite all if prompted. Pacific Morrowind
  22. I'd guess that would be a misinstallation - as close to 100% that that file would work with Steam. ... the problem that I suspect in your installation: that archive has the structure: archive -readme -data --other folders under data so it should be installed to Oblivion not oblivion\Data or there will be an extra Data folder (like Oblivion\data\data\....) make sure that it is installed so that you have the file race_sex_menu.xml in oblivion\data\menus\chargen. Hope that helps; Pacific Morrowind
  23. pretty much all the info you need is the modeling/texturing classes over at TESA... any unanswered questions just ask away. Pacific Morrowind
  24. Oblivion shall never die... until TesV is released when it will experience a large exodus and then be in the much slower but still somewhat active modding community ala Morrowind.. Welcome and hope you enjoy your time here... over a million (as in close to 2) members so there are some bad eggs but most of us are nice. Pacific Morrowind
