EDIT: What would be REALLY cool/immersive is if you could eavesdrop on a couple of guards after causing a rookus and hear them talking about you and their plans.
Yes, this would be interesting:
GUARD1: Did you hear about a thief that broke into the Commandant's Office to steal the taxes collected this month ?!? In the process the thief killed Tom, Dick and Harry ?!?
GUARD2: Yeah, I heard Tom was beheaded and the other two had their limbs cut-off.
GUARD1: The Commandant is posting a bounty of 10000 Gold for the thiefs head.
GUARD2: Say we should try to find this bloke, the misses could use a better house. Come to think of it I could find a better misses with that kind of loot.

I would love to see the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch make an appearance :)
-
Noticed the very same thing, it appeared to be an MMO based on the Wheel of Time books.
I would rather have a single player RPG but that's just me.
-
Apparently there is something in the works by EA/Red Eagle/Obsidian
-
You do know there was a Wheel of Time game published based on the Unreal Engine some years back ?
Published I think by Legend Entertainment.
That being said I would love to see a mod based on this fantastic book series too :D

I'm 49 and have been playing video/console games since the 70's
I guess I should dust off my old Magnavox Odysee and Mattel Intellivision now.
I enjoy exploring and in anticipation of Skyrim have restarted playing Oblivion as a Nord.
I guess if you do indeed have other responsibilities like a family to take care of you need to place gaming down on the list, lord knows you have that "HONEY DO" list to take care of first

I'm Todd Howard and this is my favorite thread on the internet.
That still does not qualify you for a discount at any of the Presidium Merchants ;)

NV isn't Bethesda at all <__< Obsidian aka the Devs from Interplay before interplay was purchased by some french guy and shut down then scavenged for valuable IPs.
Yes I know, Bethesda was the publisher, but that also means they still made money from it and all the DLC's as well.
Just like Obsidian developed Dungeon Siege III and it was published by SquareEnix.
But this is getting off topic.

By the way, who is Pes
Planet Elder Scrolls part of the IGN/Gamespy network of sites.
Like Fileplanet for instance.
Still a member of that site along with Gamespy, but most of my mod needs are from the Nexus sites of course.

I wonder if they are thinking of adding a Deadra that can also take dragon souls, say Black Oblivion Dragons or some such.
Interesting to see if maybe your character would have to traverse the Halls of Oblivion looking for the Dark Dragon Reborn or some such scenario.
Just wondering out loud is all, but for sure if the DLC's have any meat to them they will be worth purchasing.
I'm sure that Bethesda is catering to folks like me as I just purchased the Lonesome Road DLC for FNV today ;)
-
Because I can.
My thinking exactly
-
Don't forget the extra fist under Chuck Norris' beard too :P
-
I'm replaying Oblivion now with a Nord so I guess I will continue that when Skyrim gets released :)
-
I was already to see a flame war thread and then read it, nice one :D
@zer0morph, I'm going to get the Collectors Edition but I'm waiting for a reply from Fry's if they will carry this version or not, they only have the standard version listed for pre-order so far.
My thinking is no more purchases from GameStop for me so either Worst Buy or perhaps Spamazon for me ;)
-
I guess if you pre-order from Steam or Direct 2 Drive then it should pre-load and then unlock when it goes live on the date of release.
At least this is what has happened when I have pre-ordered from Steam.
I have never pre-ordered from etailers like Newegg so I don't have any experience with this kind of pre-order.
-
I understand folks not wanting to have to use Steam or some other online service to play their game but indeed it has come down to money and control for the game publishers.
Since the majority of the purchasing population lives in high-speed inet areas of the world this is where the money is to be had, simple economics is all.
So what does this mean for the folks in rural areas of the world with dial-up or sat connections ?!?
Unfortunately it means you get left behind.
You can sign a billion ipetitions but I really think it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of making money on the folks that live in the high-speed inet areas.
-
oh sure. from the vids i have seen, it would appear to me that Todd would totally feel it would fit in there
I think he mentioned if you wanted to be a friggin flower picker then you could, I would say that means to live off of the land so to speak ;)
I'm playing another round of FNV in hardcore mode, having fun with that too and would like to see an option for this in Skyrim.
-
It would at least be interesting. I wonder if the NPC's relatives will treat you differently after marriage...
Or will this be dependent on previous behavior before said marriage ?
So if you behaved good or bad towards said relatives before the marriage how would this work out ?
Does seem to be an area that could prove to be a fun diversion from the Main Story Line or would Bethesda decide to make it part of the main story line if your character decided to marry ?

I'm going to be previewing Skyrim at the Eurogamer Expo later this month. I think the best option is to wait until then, do a write-up of my opinions, then launch the site with the write-up :)
Damn, wish I could go...
Well take lots of pics, if you can that is and post them with your preview please :D

Even if I did get a new hard-drive my PC wasn't that great to begin with, I got 15-20 fps with Oblivion, and Skyrim will probably be worse on my PC, I can just barely afford Skyrim with the way the economy is in the U.S. right now.
I feel for you there, you can sure purchase a lot of top ramen for the price of even the cheapest of HDD's available now.
I'm still going PC only on this one, it will look sweet on my 40 inch HDTV in surround sound of course ;)
-
I'd like to be able to choose themes as well, I want to get the widescreen format back if possible.
EDIT: for the time being I'm using the CTRL + Wheelmouse Zoom to stretch the screen to my liking, since my eyes are pretty bad it actually is much more readable now ;)

First to the mods, sorry, I didn't notice the TW2 Mod Request sub-board until somebody pointed it out to me.
I didn't see any sub-board for Mod Requests so I'm making one here just in case.
I bet this would require a Developers Kit as I bet it's hardcoded into the game, why can't you save either, both or neither of the two NPC's at that get hanged at the beginning of your entry in Floatsam ?!?
Or at least a side-effect, loot the bodies after a day or two and then have an option to bury the dead in boothill cemetary or something.
-
Thanks, I was hoping there was something under here but since I now know where it is located at can I ask a mod to move this please :)
If not I can add one there and I will check it out now...
I created a new topic in the correct location, maybe a mod could delete this thread, thanks....
