  1. With the Mass Effect 2 Hybrid Combat mod, the author was able to make it so that shields no longer protected against the use of powers (so biotic pull, for example, could still lift an enemy even if they had active shields). Is there a value in the ME3 Coalesced file that I can change to attain the same effect?
  2. I have been using mods for the last week with no problems whatsoever using the Patch 6 work-around. Then I encountered a bug where the Skyhold introduction scene would not play, (removing mods fixed it). Now when I try to reinstall my mods, the game CTDs on start or gets stuck on the black screen before the title menu. This occurs when I replace the Data and package.mft in the Update folder, using the merged patch DAI Mod Manager makes. When I revert the Data folder and package.mft to a vanilla state, the game works again. Anyone got a solution?
  3. I've installed Texmod and followed all of the steps to trick Origin using the ME3.bat file. I open texmod through Origin and click the folder icon to browse, then it freezes and says "Program not responding" I cannot figure out how to get it to work. Can anyone help?
  4. Not sure what you are asking but I think I can help. This might be different on your computer, but follow the file path (C:)/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/Mass Effect 3/BIOGame/DLC and you should find what you are looking for.
  5. Thanks I had Extended UI installed already but I installed the defluff mod. I just have the extended version of that second mod, because I like the fluffy descriptions, but I would like to able to view them lol. Still have problems with the text overflowing tho.
  6. When I enter the skills menu, the perk descriptions run off of the screen in both directions. This makes some of them difficult if not impossible to read, not to mention very annoying. I had this same problem with SkyRe, but not with Requiem. Any thoughts on how to fix it or what the cause is?
  7. I usually just keep a copy of the whole thing.
  8. I'm no expert but my suggestion is that you should probably re-install your game. Uninstalling some mods may not work because the game files have already been modified. Re-installing will ensure you have a clean slate. Definitely use Mod Organizer and LOOT to make sure your mods are compatible. I would get rid of some of the smaller or more obscure mods and see if that makes a difference. There is also such a thing as "script overload", meaning that if you have too many mods that use scripts, it could cause some problems. Make sure you backup your game so that you don't have to re-install it every time something goes wrong.
  9. Thanks man I was using a different extractor but this one worked!
  10. Sorry that I wasn't clear. I do intend to alter the textures bsa. When I reinstalled the game, as I said, all of the files usually found in the Data folder came packed in bsa format (Sounds, Actors, Textures, etc.), I extracted all of them so I could manually install some mods and the only one that didn't work was the textures bsa which gave me the error message.
  11. After being away from Skyrim for a few months I uninstalled and reinstalled it to clean up the scripts and make sure I had a fresh start to add the bajilllion mods I missed out on. When I reinstalled it, all of the Data files came packed in BSAs (I don't remember this happening before, but whatever) and all was well except when I attempted to unpack the textures bsa and got the message "System.OutOfMemoryException was thrown". Nothing I tried so far helped. Causes? Fixes? Thanks
  12. Is it possible to mod ME3 in the sense of creating (or altering) cutscenes? Creating animations and the like? If so, how? How did the guy behind MEHEM manage to change the end cutscene (even if he just swapped things around and didn't make a completely new scene)? For example at the end of ME3, could I have Shepard and Tali building a house on Rannoch? I'm not one of those ME3 ending haters, but it would be nice to make some changes.
  13. I've recently added this list of mods to Oblivion. Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (latest version) Natural Weather Combat Sounds 300 Oblivion character Overhaul First of all, I have several problems like this in-game: -Missing icons in the menu (potions, coins, etc.)-Large glowing polygons in the place of some objects. (This happened to my copy of Morrowind when I installed the overhaul as well) Also, the faces installed with Oblivion Character Overhaul all have the message "INSTALL BLOCKHEAD" written on them. I already have the Blockhead.dll in my Oblivion directory. Screenshot attached.
  14. How can I change the amount of damage Spellbreaker absorbs? Like having it absorb 500 points instead of 50?
  15. Whenever a decapitation animation is about to be performed by an NPC, as soon as their weapon makes contact with my character, the game crashes. Why is this? It's a huge problem since I am using Requiem which leads to frequent one hit kills.
  16. I have a glitch in Skyrim were it is impossible to finish brawls, because every time I begin one, the NPC I am fighting and any others that happen to be nearby turn hostile and try to kill me. This poses a problem because this glitch makes it impossible to finish the first Thieves Guild quest. I'm guessing a mod I have is causing the problem, as it has never happened before, but what could it be?
  17. I am having a problem with Skyrim in that every time I begin a brawl with an NPC, that NPC and surrounding ones turn hostile and kill me. This poses a problem because I'm doing the first Thieves Guild quest and it is all about brawling. I'm guessing that a mod I have is causing this problem because it has never happened before, but what could it be?
  18. I have never made a mod for Skyrim, although I do know my way around the CK. Anyway, with that said, I would like some tips as I plan on getting into modding. (I have no experience with programming, which i am sure a lot of popular modders do.) But I just want to know some things that would help me out with an idea I have. I need to know how to make textboxes appear at certain points in the game. The way I want to do it is at a specific date. Lets say, I want a text box to appear on the player's screen on the 3rd of Last Seed. Is that possible? If not, what else could I do that would be sort of like that? I would also like to know how to script character movement and set up scenes. For example, I want a feast to be held in Solitude after the completion of a certain quest, where all of the Jarls will attend. How can I do something like that? I know there are probably YouTube videos about this kind of stuff, but I just want some quick advice on how to do these things. Any help will be appreciated.
  19. Yeah I have had numerous problems with Dragonborn's game-breaking bugs. It is very frustrating that Bethesda would release this dlc with so many bugs. I sometimes wonder if they even test the stuff they put out.
  20. I have found a really powerful classbuild to be the Nightblade. The Nightblade specializes in Illusion magic, Light Armor, One-Handed (specifically daggers) and Sneak. The best perks to get are: Quiet Casting in the Illusion tree. This allows you to cast spells silently. Assassain's Blade in the Sneak tree. Daggers will do 15x damage from sneak attacks. and Expert Illusion in the Illusion tree. Although this is not necessary, it allows you to cast spells like Invisibility easier. These perks create a deadly combination. I guess an early game strategy would be to get a decent dagger and an Illusion spell, preferably Muffle. Muffle is the next best thing to Invisibilty early-game. Basically cast Muffle whenever you encounter an enemy and go into sneak mode. This will increase your Sneak and Illusion skills exponentially. Sneak attacks also level your Sneak tree pretty fast. Level yout Illusion to 75, by using trainers or simply by casting it during combat. Then go to the College and find a Dunmer mage named Drevis Neloren and purchase the Invisibility tome. (He is in the Hall of Countenence) Invisibilty combined with your high Sneak skill can take out even a Dragon Priest in one hit. A good piece of armor to get would be the Shrouded Gloves. Thes are found in the Dark Brotherhood Sancuary on a shelf near the entrance. (It don't matter if you choose to join or destroy the DB, they are there either way). These gloves combined with the Assassain's Blade perk will increase your sneak attack bounus with a dagger to 30x. Sorry for the long description, but if you really want to survive on higher difficulties, try this.
  21. I am having a serious problem completing Dragonborn. It occurs during the final battle with Miraak, after he has absorbed all three dragons. After I do enough damage to him, he turns ethereal, uses Whirlwind Sprint to get to one of the green ponds, dissapears, and dosn't show back up. He is just gone. After using the tcl command, I discoverd he was under the map, just standing there. The quest is now unfinishable. I tried reloading the save and all that, but nothing. Has anyone else encountered this bug? If so, how do you fix it? Is there a mod out there that I havn't found that may fix it?
