  1. (cannededness???) hahahahaha Well, I'm really happy to hear about the "fresh pickedness" of TES V. :-) Overall, it sounds like a game I'll be looking forward to. And, the arrows and character interaction, well, I didn't always use that stuff anyhow. As for me, I don't think that'll be a problem, but I can't speak for everyone else. So, thanks for all you guys' input. And, the fact that there are 9, as apposed to 1, designers... wow. Now, about those faces.....
  2. I had a blast with Morrowind when it came out. I mean, it's all about exploration and original areas/finds for some of us. I know that they had to put a lot of work into meticulously placing every weapon and item in the game, well save for the crates. But, isn't that the point? Hard work pays off? The thing that really, really annoyed me about Oblivion was that it didn't take me long at all to figure out that it really didn't make a rat's arse where I went in the game, I was going to come up with the same things! It didn't matter one bit if I traveled across the land or just kept reloading the same stupid dungeon. What's worse? Didn't get what you wanted? Oh that's o.k. just reload and walk back in. That's "canned". What's more, all the dungeons looked exactly the same more or less. I realize that the dungeon basics were the same in MW, however, I think that the creativity and difference in the types of dungeons would quite override the problem of monotony. This wasn't the case in Oblivion at all. Less dungeon creativity, less item originality and smaller overall world equates to "NO need to explore"! So, anyone know what the scoop is on 5?
  3. Put me down for less chops too. I mean, heavy armor might mean a few more hacks and slashes, light armor a couple less than medium... whatever. But, there's something wrong with being hit 50 times with an axe and not dying because of good armor "skill". To take it a step further, how about losing a limb? Or, at least a D&D'esque "Crippling Strike"?
  4. I had to vote "yes, and no." Although, I've never thought that response made any sense. "Perhaps," or even "maybe" makes much more sense. Anyway, I've often thought it would make a fantastic online multiplayer... ideally. If players could stick with basic stat and level ups without all the uber stuff, cheats, etc. It might be o.k. Going online with it would just cheapen the whole thing. I noticed the same thing in games like HL2. I loved playing HL2. But, online you've got people jumping around like they're in space and moving around in super-sonic speeds. Online play always just has a way of making all the in-game movements look dumb. All that, excluding all the cheating and hammed up game play that everyone would end up doing. I suppose "co-op" could be interesting as far as not having the problem with competition, etc. However, it might still end up looking like HL2's "Synergy" mod, if you've ever seen that... All I can say is, done right, I think it would be a heck of a lot of fun and a great idea... done wrong, it's going to equal stupid looking graphics and people stepping all over the Elder scrolls the same way they did most all the others. i.e. Visually, Crysis was a lot of fun offline. Online? Crap. Looked like it, played like it.
  5. Hi, one of the things that I noticed when playing Oblivion again is how little trees there really are. Are there any general mods that address this problem of having far too few trees without having too serious a hit on processing power? Thanks ahead.
  6. o.k. I got fcom up and running great now... one thing I did was I did not mark "Leveled lists." Also, I installed MMM public release instead of 37 beta 1. That would explain a lot. So, now to just install the few extras I have like Immersive Interface and Eric's Crafting Mod for FCOM. One thing I'm still not clear on though is, is Eric's Crafting supposed to be bashed along with the bash patch and THEN placed after the patch in load order? Or, is it NOT to be bashed at all?
  7. nope, it's definitely the gold. I checked each one individually and even looked real closely to the table and sure enough, no gold peices. I can't explain it though. I also found several more skeleton meshes associated with OOO and MMM that weren't available... so, i'm now doing a fresh install of everything. But, still appreciate any insights as it is still helpful. And, yes, I do install other mods along with fcom, however, this time, I am going to go through and install each one individually after I get plain FCOM up and running, so that I can determine which/what might be a problem.
  8. well, the classic bows are a part of fcom_realswords. But, I'm also missing some gold coins, which are, of course, part of oblivion.esm.... what does that mean? I use Boss for my load order also.
  9. wow, Refscope sounds awesome. I was hoping for something like that. thanks David. I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes. Apparently, I'm really bad at getting all my meshes in, because I've never even seen the purple ones...
  10. Every time I install FCOM, even if I follow fivefries install guide, I always have at least a few of those stupid yellow exclamations that show up in game, particularly with some bows. Right now I"m having the "classic bow" and "seagull bobkins" not show up. I think those are a part of Frans but not sure. Does anyone know exactly what causes this, so that I can stop doing that. Since my Hard Drive crashed, I now have to re-install FCOM... such a pain. thanks
  11. Hey all. I have fcom running and have had with great success for about 7 months now. My character is level 30 something now and has been a lot of fun. The other day I was sleeping in game to level up and after I selected the attributes I wanted, I clicked on "done" button I think it is, and it just locked up on me. So I tried leveling in a different area, but had the same problem. I did this repeatedly without any luck. I know FCOM can come with oddities like this, so it's no surprise to me. I was just wondering if anybody had any quick fixes for this or perhaps knew of an easier way to level up that I didn't have to click the done button... or something! thanks in advance. "good"
  12. Wow, I see that Morrowind characters are looking pretty good these days. When I looked at the first one, I though for a second that it was Oblivion. So, if they're doing that with the graphics in MW, do they have any huge overhaul mods for it as well?
  13. Man, i'll tell you what, from my experience in gaming...so many things can get changed during the making of a game, even at the last minute, that it's really tough to predict WHAT 3 will be like. However, I think that one was an absolute classic. Well, it was a classic..period. But, I did play it for years and finally grew tired of it. I'm personally looking forward to Crysis...as I haven't bought it yet. And, I'm always a tomb raider fan...so i've got some more of those to buy yet. ;)
  14. Are there many servers that use the project reality mod for online play? Oh yeah, and my screen name is...uh...Goodfortitude. ;)
