  1.

    1) What kind of enemies is the gun best for? Armored, or Fleshies

    1. Armored, since normal laser weapons are better suited for damaging soft targets. I would think of this as a long-range welding tool.
2a) What kind of WMKs should there be, and what effect of them?

2a. Weapon mod kits should be similar to the standard ones.
-Focusing lense: Secondary lense to increase range. Found in Helios One.
-Better Electronics: Decreases ammo consumption slightly.Found in that fiend-infested Allied Technologies Office
-Scope: Self-explanatory.Same as the Laser rifle Scope, I would assume.
3a) What kind of ''things'' could happen against different enemies (Robots, Animals, Humanoids, Irradiated foes)
when a critical hit is scored?

3a. In the same vein of thought as #1, fleshy, living enemies should ignite and flee, and Robots should hit critical heat, causing ignition and circut overload, destroying their inhibitor.
3b) What kinds of player values/conditions should be met for the effect to happen? (Check player's Science, Luck, Energy Wep, skills ect, as a condition before the unique effect triggers)

3b. Repair at 30 or science at 50. 30 would be for knowing how to properly use a welding tool with repair, 50 would be understanding the proper aplication of heat necessary to cause ignition.
    4) What should the clip size be of the gun (unmodded vers)

    4. 100, representing the percentage. Just seems nice that way. All recycling weapons should do that.
    5) At what rate should ammo usage be? (Ammo is natively returned to the player via built-in Recycler, currently set to 50% return rate -outside VATS- )

    5. Long enough to get the feel of the continuous laser, but short enough to prevent it from being too powerful. Twenty seconds unmodded would be sufficient, with the modified version taking thirty.
    6) Should the mod include custom Perks? If so, what Perks? (name of perk, effect when using this gun/other lasers too, ect)

    6. Spot Welder. Increases the chances of scoring a critical with continuous beam weapons by 10%.No effect on other laser weapons.
7a) What -besides itself- should be required to Repair/Fix this weapon?

7a. Opthalmoscope, duct tape, wonderglue, magnifiers, and standard laser rifle.
7b) What ingredients should be required to craft the ammo? (Currently 1 ElectronPack = 1 Diode Lamp)

7b. I think the return rate should be higher, since it will be taking 100 per 20 seconds of continuous fire.
7c) What ingredients should be required to craft both Max and Overcharge Diode Lamp ammo variants?)

7c. Each overcharge and max variant should take five of the corresponding microfusion cells and 50 diode lamps to make 50 Max/Overcharge Diode Lamps.
7d) What effect should Max and Overcharge have? Default effect? (ie. Overcharge does more dam, but damages the wep's condition too)

7d. Default would be great, but increasing critical chance would also work well.
How gory should the mod be? (guts spill out when cut in two? face/head sliced to reveal brain? ect)

    8. As gory as possible, though the wounds will be burned, removing blood from the equation.
    9) How to obtain the weapon? (proposal : derelict factory, weapon originally developed as a welder tool -or mining tool-, faction beats you there, Boss Fight ensues where boss uses it against you.)

    9. I would say that the player should have to fight to obtain the parts of the weapon, as well as a blueprint.Makes a nice adventure mod with a good reward.
    10) Questions 1 - 8 again, for the Unique Variant of the weapon, the Mercury Arc

    10. The unique variant should be a more practical version, with half the ammo drain as the original, slightly lower damage, and higher critical damage. Nothing else would really need to be changed.
    11. Oops, I think I already answered that. :x
    12) If a "Panic Button" or "Manual Override" is added, where the player can unload a full-magazine all in one ''Kamehameha" shot by pressing a button, what negative effect should it have on the player? (Chance to knockdown player, ignite you, deal 50% damage to the weapon, ect ect)

12.I'd say all three. You'e doing something that'll be a bad idea in retrospect, but could save your life potentially.
    13) How to obtain the Mercury Arc? (unique variant) (*note* It's a weaponized, experimental version of the Xenon Charge, developed by the Brotherhood of Steel.)

    13. Fight a robot equiped with it. Like Mr. Conleys cranky uncle Jimmy.
    14) In the quest to obtain a Xenon Charge, its likely there will be some Mining/Welding robots equipped with rudimentary versions of the weapon, what color/colors would it be?

    14. When I look at this weapon, I think of the mining tools from Deadspace, so borrowing the orange and yellow color scheme would mesh well with the design.
    15) Easter Eggs : a version of the weapon with a 3d "imma firin mah lazor" model on the muzzle.
Other suggestions? (armor, other gun variants, enemies, NPCs, ect)

    15. Yes. Make a MemeBlaster. Plaset it with all the memes you possibly can.

  2. Hello! Thank you for taking interest in this thread. As you know, I am looking for a texture artist to assist me with a custom-mesh revolver rifle. I have worked hard to get the rifles mesh looking prestine, and I have been in touch with a very talented animator to assist in giving the rifle a truely magnificent animation. However, the problem lies in my short-sighted decision to texture the rifle myself. I personally have very little experience with texturing, nor much talent. So, therefore, if you are interested in assisting me, it would be greatly appreciated! Of course, you will be given credit for your work, and I would be more than happy to return the favor after the texturing has been completed.

Below is a screenshot of the rifle, as well as a link to a somewhat recent model of the rifle.

I've done a small bit of work on the mesh and texture since these were uploaded, so if you would like to see the most recent one, I would be happy to oblige.
As you can see, my textures reflect my lack of experience, however, that's why I'm here! Please, if you wish to help, email me at [email protected]
  3. Hello! I reeeeeaaaally need some help with getting a couple of animations to work properly. I created a rifle for Fallout New Vegas, and pasted it over the model for the single shotgun, moved the parts to fit correctly, and it looked great at first, but now the hammer jumps from the back of the gun to inside the frame/cylinder of the rifle. Any idea what might be the issue?

  4. Hello again, I'm currently looking for a small number of actors to fill roles in my mod, A Trip To The Bank. The mod has grown substantially over the past few months, and now requires six characters to be voiced for it to feel complete. The characters of Ryker, Conley, Constantine, Kaitlynn, and Slade Fawes are all still available.

Ryker was one of the NCR Veteran Rangers who led an assault on The Nevada Grand, whom, despite being a great shot and handy with tech, was seen as just another ranger by his superiors. His family on the other hand held him dear, and enjoyed his enthusiasm when it came to kicking butt for the good guys. Little did he know that they sent him and a small team on a suicide mission into the bank to prove a point. The bank was impenetrable. His squad was killed, and he was severely wounded, forced to hide in the bathroom stalls. However, he found something; A vent just large enough for him to climb through. Inside, he would meet Beckett, An Enclave Lieutenant who had been surviving by the skin of his teeth. His audio logs, with the exception of the first are of his conversations with this man, and how they overcome their differences to achieve a common goal. (Beckett's voice actor has already been cast, and is ready for work.)

Mr. Conley is one of the many bots secured by the wealthy owner of The Nevada Grand, and was one of his prized possessions. Of all of the machines from the Prime-Beta series, Mr. Conley was the most costly due to his auto-repair subroutines, top-of-the-line hydraulics, and rare AI core source. In his prime, Mr. Conley was used by The banks owner in robotic death-matches. He faced many a robotic monstrosity, but always came out on top, resulting in a massive winning streak of 86 consecutive wins before his core began to overheat. However, his fighting days were cut short when P.E.T.A.I. (People for the Ethical Treatment of Artificial Intelligences), forcing him into an early retirement. For the rest of his days he wandered about the bank, entertaining guests with his new musical hobbies. Even after the bombs fell, he continued to play his tune to a crowd that would never come.

Constantine an Kaitlynn are both survivors of the great war. He was an engineer for Robco who was working on both the Prime-Beta series as well as the Robo-Brain series of robots under contract with the United States govenment in a facility known as The Black Cathedral. She worked there as well, one of the scientists studying the effects of the Forced Evolutionary Virus on humans. They met in the lunchroom. He fell for her wit, and she fell for his goofy charm. On what seemed like a normal day, the sirens blared, warning of the chinese nukes on approach. Even if they survived the blasts, the radiation would kill them. There was no vault to hid in, no escape routes, just doom approaching on the horizon. In their desperation, Kaitlynn injected Constantine with the virus, causing him to begin to change just as the bombs hit. When he came to, he was alive, but in great pain from the constant changes. However, she was still out cold, dying slowly. He knew what he had to do. He took her to the labs and removed her brain for insertion into a robo-brain AI core. Knowing that she would be safe, though as a disembodied version of herself, he trekked out into the wastes, carrying her on his back through all the pain, all the combat until he reached the Mojave. He knew that there was only one place other than the Black Cathedral and Pentagon that had received any of the Prime-series of robots, and that was The Nevada Grand. Once there, he was finally able to give her back a body of some sort. With some work, he attached her AI core to a re-modeled Prime-Beta guard, and was finally able to feel as if he had done the right thing. With Constantine being the only one left alive beyond Robert House himself who could control the Prime-series robots, they made the Nevada Grand their home. It was happy for a time. But as Constantine consumed more food, and became more radiation, he grew. Eventually, he became unable to leave the Bank Vault where He and his lover had set up their home. For a time, He was able to instruct Kaitlynn on how to maintain the Prime-series AI cores, but after some time, they malfunctioned, causing them to attack anything on site, including them. Since then, they've been contacting everyone and anyone who could possibly help them escape their home turned prison.

Slade Fawes was a businessman and a good one at that. From where he stood, he looked down on all of the people who called him names and terrorized him for being intelligent. Now, he had everything, and they had nothing. He could buy any movie prop, any machine, any vehicle, any home, anywhere. Yet, even when he had everything he thought he wanted, he was still missing something: companionship. He was still alone, and he became bitter.

If any of these characters tickle your fancy, then send me an email at [email protected].

  5. ello, I am the project lead for A Trip to The Bank, coming to the forums to ask for help. We've reached some of the final stages of the mod, and we've come a long way since the Alpha version of the mod, but we have come to find that we need the help of someone who knows a bit more about scripting than I do. The mod has a custom, unique and, from what I can tell, rather simple companion.

"His" name is Mr. Conley, and he is a machine from the Prime series of robots, but is unlike the others due to his history. Originally, he was used by a wealthy bank owner in robotic brawls, and held a record of going 86 rounds undefeated before the fights were outlawed for AI abuse thanks to the aggressive lobbying of PETAI. His name comes from the man in the "Old-Tyme Brawler" meme, who was a boxer who held the same record. After losing his ability to fight in the ring, his AI adapted to a new hobby of playing the piano. He now sits inside his owners bank, playing in a lobby to a crowd that hasnt come around in a few hundred years.

I've already gotten his mesh completed. C.I.B. supplied the human-sized Liberty Prime mesh and animations, and I have played around with a few meshes to give him a tux, top-hat and a brawlers mustache. Do you think you might be able to help me bring him to life?

  6. My expertise is quite limited. Only thing I can offer is that you should look at the scripts for the brotherhood and NCRs dogtag quests. I believe you only need to change the faction , quest, and quest item variables to make them work with another faction.

  7. I'm currently looking for a pair of voice actors. One will be playing Ryker, a violence-loving, gun-slinging, metalhead Ranger who has just watched his entire squad die at the hands of The Nevada Grand Banks Security robots. The second is Beckett, a pessimistic, sharp-tempered, and highly intelligent Enclave Sargeant who has grown to see killing as nothing more than a chore. If you think you might like to play one of these characters, email me at [email protected], and we'll see what we can do.

  8. I am currently searching for two voice actors for my Fallout New Vegas mod. If you have listened to me ramble on about my plans for this mod before, then you may remember that I intended to add a group of audio logs and notes around the bank, left by Ryker, a combat-crazed, optimistic Veteran Ranger of the NCR, and Beckett, a no-nonsense, realist who sees combat as nothing more than the chore, who is a Sargeant in the Enclave. As far as the timeline is concerned, these notes and logs will be dated 2279, two years after the First Battle of Hoover Dam, and two years before the near-death of the courier. If you are interested in either of these, then please email me at [email protected].

  9. To put it simply, I would like someone to splice a small number of armors for me so I can use the pieces from them to add onto another armor. The specific armors that I would like to have spliced are the Papa Khan armor, which can be found in the BSA files, the Advanced power Armor (Otherwise known as the Remnants Power Armor), and I would also like the Legates armor spliced. Preferably, I would like the armor pieces to be separated. My main idea is to add a few bits of armor to the left arm, while leaving the right arm light-weight to make the whole armor a bit more practical. Please, message me if you would like to help. If you do, I will add you as a contributor to the mod it is to be used for, which is this one: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/48595
  10. Being the anime-lover that I am, I've repeatedly tried, and failed, at making a Bleach-inspired mod. In my mind, I have many great ideas for such a mod, but getting them from my mind to the virtual world of Fallout has turned out to be far more complicated than I had realized at first. My tries have resulted in errors in locations, missing meshes, and the discovery of my complete lack of ability to make new meshes using anything other than Nifscope. Still, the ideas still buzz about, trying to find a way out. So far, all I have is a very simple story that is somewhat lore-friendly.

The quest would start off as a random encounter in the wasteland, where a very attractive human of the opposite gender to the player would approach them, and beg them to help. Of course, the player would eventually be somewhat forced to agree to help them. For male players, the woman approaching would resemble Orihime Inoue, and would use the BNB body mesh to add to her appeal, while for female players, a character resembling Sado "Chad" Yasutoro would approach them, using the Roberts body type, with the character scaled to a more appropriate height. This would be done with seperate ESPs, which would be split before release, rather than a script to determine the gender of the player. Dependant on which ESP the player would choose, either Chad or Orihime would inform the player that they were like them, a "FullBringer", or a person who could call out the soul of certain items. Upon asking an optional question, they would inform the player of how they found out, and what they believed their power to be. Cutting to the chase, they inform the player that Ichigo was captured in another world, and that in the event that caused it, a large number of characters from the show were sent through a senkaimon (A portal of sorts, if you're not familiar with the anime), to the Mojave by mistake, need additional support in order to go back and fight. The characters I had in mind, other than the two aforementioned, are Ichigo Kurosaki in both his hollow form and bankai form, Kenpachi Zaraki, Kisuke Urahara, Yuroichi Shihoin, Tessai Tsukubishi Rangiku Matsumoto, Toshiro Hitsugaya Urryu Ishida Renji Abarai, and possibly a few others. This group will become a new faction, which the player joins upon agreeing to help the messenger of their choosing. They will be allied with the appropriate factions while in the Fallout world, which will only cover a short amount of the mod, which will be divided into three parts.

Firstly, there is the encounter, in which the player agrees to help them, and meets the task force that is sent to help Ichigo escape, and calm his hollow side before he destroys the world he's trapped in. After meeting the group, which is set up in a desolate area which shall be made to work with Monster Mod's spawning, and A World of Pain's new areas. It will be a small camp. Urahara, who is too injured to open a new senkaimon on his own, still peddles his wares to the player, including an unnamed Zanpakuto (Called an Asauchi in the anime), a Shinigami Uniform (Shihakusho), and a mass of other wares as seen in the show, mixed with a number of items designed specifically for the wasteland. Orihime will act as a doctor, hopefully with a custom animation to match her powers, which could be as simple as the screen fading to orange, rather than black. Urryu would act as a repairman, fitting with his character. The other characters would possibly have quests, or be able to teach a perk or ability to the player.

Once aquainted with the characters, the chosen messenger would approach the player and inform them that they needed to train in order to find their hidden power. In this instance, the player would be put into an arena of sorts, where he would be given clothing, and let to take a type of item into the arena with them. This would be their choice as to decide their fullbring. If they take a pistol, then they gan a perk for pistols, if they take a sword, then they gain a perk for melee weapons, if they take in a piece of armor, then the gain an armor perk, ect, etc. They will be forced to use a low-damage weapon, or hand-to-hand combat to defeat an enemy with extremely high HP, but low damage, and no armor. When they defeat it, they gain the perk. Afterwards, they would visit each of the characters relevant to their chosen abilities, as shown by a quest marker, and would receive a quest from each of them that would further develop their abilities. Each quest would be simple, quick, but challenging. For example, a player who chose and Asauchi would have to face Kenpachi in a sparring match. Where whoever was damaged to below 25% health would be the loser. Defeating Kenpachi would allow the player to advance. This is also an example of one that could be repeated. These quests would be taken repeatedly, as the mod would slowly become a part of the players regular world while waiting for the second part to be released.

The second part would be the invasion. In this quest-line, the player would be introduced to the group of Arrancars who are using Ichigo's uncontrollable hollow powers for their own benefit inside the remains of Hueco Mundo. These enemies would essentially be raiders in robes and broken masks wielding swords, and weapons based on spiritual energy. In essence, it would be your standard RPG style combat, where you go through a dungeon of enemies ending in a boss fight, which would repeat in a unique pattern, leading up to a "mega-boss". This part of the mod, as you already guessed, would create a new worldspace similar to the deserts of Hueco Mundo, and would include a multitude of new weapons, with unique variants, as well as a few custom-mesh bosses following the lore of Bleach, combined with a bit of Fallout. After all, this 'is' a new world, therefore it would not need to be completely Fallout lore-friendly. Afted defeating Ichigo's captors, they will release him, in his Vasto Lorde form, into the Fallout world. The player must follow him back to his home, and stop him before the Mojave is destroyed.

The third part would be a hunt. The player would follow clues along a path of destruction to find Ichigo and defeat him, so that he would return to himself. While along this questline, the player would have to fight the Arrancars who escaped with Ichigo into the Mojave. Unlike Ichigo, the majority of them will disguise themselves as normal inhabitants of the desert, aside from something they cannot remove; their broken masks, and the holes in their chests. In the process of finding Ichigo, further new weapons and armors will be introduced as the Arrancar combine their spirit-tech with Mojave weaponry to make more gruesomely powerful weapons. This third quest will be slow-paced, with fewer battles, but almost each one will be boss-caliber. They will ambush you, trap you, lead you on with fake clues, or even become a new fiend leader and try to stop you with a small army. Of course, your powers will grow as you progess from battle to battle, letting you gain the power you will need to defeat Ichigo. Upon finding him, you will be able to choose one of the soul reapers to lend you their powers in addition. This will also grant the player their weapon and outfit, with attached perks. The battle will be tough and lengthy, considering that both the player and Ichigo will be a bit overpowered for normal fallout. But, once the player defeats Ichigo, they will pass out, and wake up with greatly diminished powers. Their fullbring will still remain, although in a far less powerful state, fitting as a more balanced, but still quite powerful ability.

In each of these mods, the player will get to have a choice of companions. These will be Ichigo's team, and will be a companion in the normal game as well. Also, at the end of each of these mods, for the players who enjoyed the nice, little boxes at the end of Honest Hearts and The Lonesome Road, I would plan to include each of the unique items that the player may have missed during the game. These items may be a bit overpowered, yet again, but are truly optional. The player doesnt need to pick them up if they want to have their inventory completely balanced. For those who complete each of these, perhaps including an additional esp for each mod containing only the weapons, armors, items, and companions would be beneficial to the players who are waiting for the next mod in the series, but don't want the large mod slowing down their computer while they wait. I would prefer each character to be voiced and fully synced, if possible. I do realize that we wouldn't be able to get members of the cast to do it, but it's possible to find people that sound similar.

Anyway, that whole book above is my idea. I would love to possibly get a team together and try to make it. Maybe throw in a few optional ESPs to change the UI. Change the Vaultboy to a Bleach character, change the HUD to something a bit more anime-themed, add in a new radio station, or whatever else this possible future team has in mind.

  11. Ive been working on a weapon lately that will be my third mod, and will likely be realeased for public use, but I've run into an issue. My idea, in summary, was to create a weapon which would have an intense questline surrounding it. In The Darkness 2, weapons infused with Dark Energy were introduced, and gave way to the four characters in Vendetas, the secondary quest line. Well, my idea was to have the courier discover a weapon such as this. It would be a 9mm pistol retextured to match one of the pistols that Johnny Estacado recieved from Mikey on his 21st Birthday. Due to contact with this weapon, supposedly for the entire game, despite what the actual game mechanics introduced, both pistols would be infused with Dark Energy. The courier would find one, while a currently undecided enemy would find the other. I've already decided exactly what I want the gun to look like. Ive started making the custom mesh for the pistols, but there's a problem; I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add a smoke emitter to the gun to give it the look of it being fully charged with dark energy. Can anyone give me help as to how I would go about doing this?
  12. I actually started making mods recently XD I cant create meshes, so theyre just re-textures. I made a hockey mask into Ichigo's hollow mask, made an edited version of the ranger armor that's darker and has the Bleach icon from his Shinigami Daiko badge, retextured BEWARE OF GIRL's Devils mistress revolver in getsuga colors, and Mugetsu Ichigo on the side with the words "Become Getsuga", turned a suit of Legate armor into Ichigo's Vasto Lorde skin, and created a sniper rifle that shoots ceros. If I could make meshes, then I wouldve done soooooo much more. I wish I could make it so that the sword (in progress) makes Getsugas on the power attack. Or a new race with Hollow holes.
