  1. Dawnguard was a disappointment? Hmmm. Not sure what you are looking for in a DLC then. I thought DG was one of the better DLC's released by Bethesda. Dragonborn had a more traditional approach to the addition of more land mass, but I felt that its main quest was actually weaker and shorter. I had no real issues with either DLC. I did have one little problem with DB, but that was caused by a mod. I think both were reasonably stable and bug-free. Many will disagree with that assessment. I can only tell you my personal experience. I bought DB at 50% off, but paid full price for DB. It depends on how anxious you are to continue playing Skyrim, and how bored you are with the current content that is available. And I have yet to see a substantial mod that can compete with Bethesda-produced content. It's professionals versus amateurs. Modders certainly win on textures, armor, weapons, menus, utilities, etc. But none of them can match the level design, quest sophistication, voice acting, etc. created by Bethesda. Not yet.

I agree it was a good DLC, but I paid full price for it and didn't think it was really worth it, I don't mean quality of it either because the DLCs always tend to be high quality, I just didn't think the price was reasonable for saying I paid £14.99 for the full game and then £13.99 for a DLC....

  2. The content is great...when it actually works. I'd give it time. Here are some of the bugs I experienced :First, I couldn't actually progress through the quest line for a month due to an error that my papyrus log identified as DLC2PillarBuilder script, or something along those lines. It mysteriously sorted itself out a few days ago and I was finally able to finish the quest, but the battle at the end of the final arc of the main quest was absolutely broken. After hours and hours of effort, I managed to finally 'fix' it by changing my quest progression with the console, but I had to use the 'coc' command to warp back to Skyrim.

I had loads of annoying issues with Dawnguard, too, since I was using a custom race in my previous save, but Dragonborn was even more annoying for me, personally. Which is a shame, because Solstheim itself is awesome. As far as mods being dependent on Dragonborn, I don't really see that being an issue, overall. There aren't any truly notable new features, imo - dragon taming/riding is largely forgettable. I'd wait for it to go on sale.

It sounds like it's something that I'll just hold off getting till it's on sale or I have an abundance of spare cash. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't something that was going to hold back lots of mods. It looks good, but the price really does put me off buying it, thanks for clearing that up for me Vulon. :)

  3. I've been thinking about getting it since it was released, but to me Dawnguard was a disappointment considering the mods that are available, but mainly I was wondering if it adds anything that is going to be used a lot in the modding community such as the crossbows did and with money being tight at the moment, should I wait till it's up for sale on steam or just buy it now because it's going to affect which mods I can use greatly?

  4. If I only knew how to work with the editor I would have done it myself but since I do not have the time to do that (I am a student and I have many exams comming)...

I will play Fallout only because of this armor - thank you Kon13

Your welcome, I think spawn is awesome, his story mostly. :)

  5. I've seen a mod that changes FUS RO DAH to THIS IS SPARTA, just needs to be a 3 word phrase I think but I've got no modding experience what so ever, so you may just be able to stretch whatever saying you want over the course of the original phrase, it would just sound odd if you only had the one word of a shout though...

It would be pretty funny to "shamone hee hee" someone off a cliff....

  6. Sounds good, if it could be done it'd be pretty awesome. I have a feeling it would almost definitely have to be dwemer, well that or completely custom looking with it's own crossbow.

  7. I've recently made a character based on Blade from the movies of the same name, after a quick search I found that there are pretty much no mods based on anything from the movies or him, except his sword which is for Oblivion (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/35376) and I have no knowledge or anyway of converting it to Skyrim, also I haven't found any trench coat mods at all, which I was very surprised by seeing as there are a few games that have the main characters wearing them. As for the boots and gloves he wears there are a fair few mods catering for those and possibly for his vest too and maybe even his sunglasses.

So if you agree and you can make the mods it would be greatly appreciated.
