There won't be an official word because NMM is no longer supported by the nexus mods team. It's due to be replaced by Vortex in the future. As far as I know, downloading this is the solution, I did it and it worked. You don't want to, fine, but you won't see anything waiting.

Anyways, anyone who may still have the problem: try going to the nexusmods website and download the latest version of NMM and run it. So, I guess this is where we realize that NMM is dead and to be replaced, I guess?
