  1. Edit: Crashing appears to be caused by "Enhanced NPC Awareness" https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/63425 Pretty new to modding, but have been trying to do everything right. Getting all the good stability mods installed before doing anything else. I had been installing my mods one by one, testing them briefly to make sure they all work and are all compatible with each other. However while testing mods suddenly I've found that engaging in combat causes my game to CTD. Sometimes it happens the first bullet I shoot, sometimes it happens mid battle. It happens all over the Mojave, not just in one area. I'm hoping someone can look at my load order and tell me if anything stands out before I start just enabling and disabling mods again. I did try dong that yesterday but the problem started happening less often, so right when I thought I had narrowed it down to a handful of mods I ended up being completely wrong and am now back to square one. The only issue that Loot finds is some ITM records and deleted references for the DLC. But based on what I've been reading I don't think this is causing the CTD, however maybe that's not the case. The only other thing that Loot says is that I don't have the Mod Configuration Menu BugFix 2 installed. The reason I do not have this installed is because when I install it MCM stops working and I get an error message about it when my game starts. The bugfix is for a "grey start menu issue" and that's not the issue I'm having so I just left it uninstalled. I'm hoping maybe I just have something in the wrong place; I've heard Loot isn't always the best. Maybe one of my essential mods just needs to be adjusted in the load order. Thanks all for helping me. Please note the formatting of the photos. Thank you! all mods.png all plugins.png LOOT DLC.PNG yes I wrote this like a very proper email
  2. In LOOT For example for Dead Money it says "FNVEdit found 403 ITM records and 51 deleted references. A guide to cleaning plugins using xEdit can be found here." I went through MO2 and unchecked every single mod and then opened LOOT again and it still says the same thing. I do still have NVSE installed though. This is my first NV playthrough and I'm pretty new to modding. Is this somtehing I can ignore or do I need to fix this? And if I need to fix it would do I need to do? Thanks
  3. Edit: I didnt realize I could use the console to easily determine what mod was causing them to spawn. They're from Mojave NPCs, but Im not sure what's causing them to be so damn tough, so I ended up uninstalling that mod for now. I'm using critical damage overhaul https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68274 which essentially makes stuff die a lot faster unless it's got power armor, but there are these 2 supermutants named Grudd and Gunz who are spawning at the devil's throat and they are impossible to kill without turning on god mode. Their health regenerates. I've tried using a gatling laser, flamer. Does anyone even know what mod is causing them to spawn? I've tried turning off my creature mods like Monster Mod and A World of Pain but they are still spawning.
  4. I think it's crazy that the guy who shows up with a gunshot wound at Goodsprings wakes up and not 24 hours later everyone's homes and businesses are completely looted. But no one suspects you did it??!!!! My idea for a mod is to overhaul theft to make it much harder to steal your way to wealth and to create serious gameplay consequences to stealing. In this mod stealing will cause you to gain a specified amount of negative faction reputation. The amount of negative reputation you gain would be based on: -the quantity of items stolen -the valuation of item(s) stolen -any current reputation with that faction -your charisma Any negative reputation is realized after 24 hours have passed since the theft, (allowing npcs to "realize" they have been robbed). The amount of negative reputation you gain primarily is based off the seriousness of the theft. A very small theft can cause no negative reputation, but a very largescale theft (like raiding every building in Goodsprings at the start of the game, lulz) can turn the entire town hostile against you. For example: a) One small/inexpensive item: no negative rep gained b) A couple of small/inexpensive items: some negative rep gained c) A high value of small, inexpensive items: quite a bit of negative rep gained d) A very high value of small, inexpensive items: a lot of negative rep gained e) A single very expensive item: quite a bit, or a lot of negative rep gained You could mitigate how much negative rep you get by spreading out your thefts over time instead of stealing everything at once. Additionally your current faction reputation, as well as your charisma are both weighted into determining how much negative rep you gain. For example if you have neutral reputation with Goodsprings and you commit a small-medium level theft. If your charisma is high you won't gain as much negative reputation as you would if your charisma was low. The same applies to your faction reputation. If you have a very high positive reputation with Goodsprings they'll be less like to suspect you of being a thief. You'll still gain some negative reputation from thefts but not as much as if your faction reputation was neutral or negative. And again, just to clarify, negative reputation is being used to determine how much a faction SUSPECTS you of a crime. it doesn't necessarily mean they KNOW you did the crime. With that said, very serious crimes will definitely turn entire towns hostile against you so you have to decide what is worth stealing and also plan your character build accordingly if you want to be able to steal more stuff without facing game altering consequences. Finally your luck skill assigns you a % chance of getting away with thefts. The percentage factors in all of the other variables I've listed above. But unlike with charisma and positive faction reputation (which can lower or raise the amount of negative reputation you get from stealing) luck gives you a chance of getting away with the crime completely (not gain ANY negative reputation at all). If your luck is high you will be much more likely to get away with low-medium level thefts, but if your charisma and/or faction reputation is low, that percentage goes down. High level thefts are always going to be hard to get away with. Think high risk, high reward. Please tell me what you think. I have no experience with modding; I've just been setting up my mod load order for my NV play through and thought this would be a mod I'd really love to see. :geek:
  5. Hello all! It's actually my first time playing New Vegas! I played Fallout 3 back when it came out and Oblivion was my favorite game but I was too caught up playing Halo 3/Reach multiplayer when New Vegas released that I never played it... I never realized how acclaimed it was, and I didn't really get too into Fallout 4 so I'm actually very excited to experience New Vegas!! With that said, I've been trying to find a mod that makes enemies alert and go crazy if they hear me fire a gun near them. For example, I just started my game and I'm in this cave near Goodsprings with these geckos in it, and I can shoot my gun right next to a gecko and it doesn't even respond to me shooting it. I have a realistic damage mod on, so if I shoot them in the head, they instantly die which makes it so they never alert at all which kind of kills the fun of combat. I'm trying to play a stealthy build with a lot of throwing weapons and I want it to be way more risky when I do go into an enemy's place and and just start shooting everything up. If I want to go in guns blazing, I want everyone to go absolutely crazy on me, and I want to have to be very tactical about it. As the kind of person who doesn't replay games usually, I've honestly been holding off continuing my game until I can find a mod that has this effect... I don't think it seems to be the most technical mod in the world to make and I'm honestly surprised with all of the mods out there I haven't been able to find one like it.
  6. I'm looking for a mod that makes enemies react to me shooting at them. For example I just entered this cave and there are a ton of geckos. I can shoot right next to one of them and it doesn't react. The other problem is, I use a realistic damage mod so I can easily oneshot them which makes it so the other geckos nearby don't even react like they would if they hadnt died immediately. I've tried a couple mods like Combat Enhancer, Enemy AI - Tactics -NPC healing, Reactive People - Tactical Approach and Special Intervention, but none seem to work. I'm not sure if maybe they are too low on my load order perhaps but I don't notice a difference in gameplay with either of these mods installed. Any recommendations? It's actually my first playthrough of New Vegas. Thanks.
