  1. Hi, my PC drank three bottles of Newheim's special brew, and it appears to have added some permanent effects. The negatives are drained intelligence and willpower, the positives are boosts to strength and personality. Can anyone suggest how to fix? I've tried going to a chapel to have afflictions removed, but that did not work. I have loads of mods installed, and one may be causing this problem. I've attached a list of my mods because I can't seem to paste it below. Thanks in advance for any help!!
  2. Thanks for the suggestions and for pointing me to update compatibility patches! I'll grab them and try them out, and also try deleting the automat.nif file. Can you tell me where I can find it? I only found a file named 'automat01.nif' in Fallout 3\Data\meshes\Architecture\Urban\StreetDressing\automat01.nif. Thanks again!! EDIT: I renamed automat01.nif and the problem seems resolved. Thanks so much!!
  3. Hi, everytime I enter the Fairfax Metro, located in the Fairfax Ruins, my game freezes after only taking a few steps. This kind of freezing only happened once before, in the Arlington Library. Loading a previous save sorted out that problem, but that solution is not working here. I've tried several earlier saves but still freeze in the same spot. Any suggestions/tips/advice would be greatly appreciated! Here's my load order: Active Mod Files:

  5. Hi, I just started a new game and am at the Super Duper Mart for the Wasteland Guidebook quest. Some of the raiders in there move in a strange way, popping in and out as they walk, and when I go to kill them, I do no damage, even though I'm clearly hitting them (I get the bullet cam in VATS). Here's my mod load order. Is there anything suspicious? Or have I done anything stupid in setting it up this way? Thanks!! Active Mod Files:
  6. Thanks for your replies! I have not changed the load order of my mods. Everything from the old drive was copied exactly to the new drive, so nothing should have changed. I'll run BOSS to see if that helps, but I'm not optimistic. I'll post back my results. EDIT: That did it! Running BOSS and rebuilding the patch fixed it. Now I feel a bit silly for not having thought of that on my own, but no matter. Thanks again for the tip! It was just what I needed
  7. Hi, I had to move Oblivion to a new drive after the old one crashed. Now, when I try to load an old save, which has tons of mods, it starts fine, meaning I don't get the message about missing plugins. Then, the red loading bar appears, fills up about half way, then hangs for 30 seconds or so, after which the game crashes. This happens for all old saves, whether or not all plugins for those saves are currently active. The only way I can get the game to start is by beginning a new game. That new game starts fine with all the mods from the previous saves still active. Any suggestions on how to get one of those old saves to load? I've logged 60 hours so I would hate to lose the playthrough entirely. Thanks so much in advance for any tips/suggestions/etc.!
  8. Hi, I've been playing with COBL and the rest of my installed mods just fine, until today. Now, for no reason that I can think of, I get a message that COBL Races Balanced has been deactivated and everything reverts back to vanilla. However, the plug-in has been integrated into my bashed patch, and this problem was not happening before today. Another problem has also occurred. I have Unnecessary Violence set to switch from third person to first when aiming with the bow. This worked fine until this morning. The only change I have made to my set-up is to install the latest version of Weather - All Natural. Other than that, the mods and the order in which I have them placed - and what I have merged into the bashed patch - is the same as yesterday, when all was working without a problem. I'll paste my load order below. I'm running wrye bash 2.91 and obse 20, for what it's worth. Thanks in advance for any tips on how to fix things! EDIT: I got it to work after deactivating the latest version of Sensual Walks and reverting to an earlier version. The bow feature of UV that I mentioned above still doesn't work, however.
  9. Thanks, but I went back to a save before I recruited her, so it shouldn't have any impact. At the moment, I have no companions following me. The only one I did have has been dismissed back to the Lucky 38. EDIT: I don't know what I did, but it is working now.
  10. Hi, I have dismissed the one companion that I have (Boone), but Jed still tells me that I have to leave my friend behind in order to join the caravan. My load order is below, in case that helps. I have the Sunny Smiles companion mod, but I had the same problem even after deactivating it. In the current save, I have not recruited her yet.   11. Again, thanks for your detailed response. And yours, too, Hickory! I wish the solution were an obvious one, because I have used this mod before in a previous game, and loved it. That in itself makes this more confusing, because, while some of the mods are different, my setup was essentially the same, and the capes worked fine. I even had 'unlimited amulets' active. That was a previous version of your mod that I was using, but still. Anyway, I'll try reinstalling, then if that doesn't work, I'll try a clean save, as you suggest. Beyond that, I might have to resign myself to envying the NPCs who get to wear your capes.
  12. thanks for the reply. i didn't know that MMM had skeeps. hopefully, that's what it was. it just occurred to me that i could have used form id finder on it to determine what mod it was from. too late for that now.
  13. I wish it were that simple, but the capes don't show up even when they are the only things she is wearing. And the capes that I have tried have not been slotted for tails, only for amulets.
  14. Hi, I have not gotten the Wayward Skeep quest yet, but I just encountered the skeep not far from Kvatch, where it had been killed by a boar. Will this make the quest undoable when I get it? Or will a new skeep spawn? Or should I just load an earlier save and hope not to run into it again? Thanks!
  15. Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem with this mod. The capes show up when worn by NPCs, but when my character puts one on, it doesn't appear. It's in my inventory, and it's activated, but it doesn't show on my character no matter what else she's wearing. I'm running the FCOM version, and I just doublechecked the load order. Everything seems to be right. I have also switched off the 'unlimited amulets' feature in my bashed patch, as hemingwey suggested. Any suggestions for a fix? Thanks! Load order:
