I hear this f*#@ing noise all the time. I'm playing with mods but these clips are from vanilla. Citadel/Rivet City/Megaton Background/Ambient Noise ?

Is this noise in the base game ? Just before the doctor in megaton tells me he hopes I have cancer, you can hear this odd sound. https://ufile.io/4g7s7w93 Thanks for any help.

I'm using a few mods but none of them add ambient sounds. When inside the citadel/rivet city/megaton I hear this sort of high pitched rumbling effect that loops. It's an attempt to add ambiance I think. I've never played vanialla FO3, so I don't know if it's present in the base game or if it's one of my mods that has it included but not listed in the details on the mod page. Anyone noticed any weird/irritating background noises in these places ? It's most noticably present in rivet city. Thanks for any help.

Thanks, yeah I searched the fo3/mods/textures page and the armor page for keywords including "high definition" "2k texture" "4k texture" "retexture" etc. There were some armor retextures, but nothing for the vanilla standard npc clothes. Three dog, or whatever the radio guy's name is, for example, his jacket is ridiculously low texture compared to his face (I have HD face texture mods installed). I assume this sort of mod exists, but I can't find it. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks for replying.

Looted power armor, even at 50% damaged condition, is worth nothing. I mean the helmet is 14 caps. My barter is high enough, though I don't have power armor training yet. There's a mod that changes the value of items I think, because I found a 10mm pistol at 100% perfect condition value and it was worth 225 or 300 caps. I've tried the stutter remover, and going into my nvidia settings to change the amount of pre-rendered frames to 1, and it's still stuttering, I can't find anything else online about it. Any ideas ? Thanks.

Most of the mods I see are for weapons/armour. I'm looking for one that updates the vanilla clothing to HD textures. I'm in megaton and the clothes look like s#*! compared to the HD faces/weapons/terrain from other mods. Thanks for any help.

There's this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/5258 that changes the chinese rifle to an ak47 variant. Is there any way to then apply an HD ak47 mod to make that variant a HD model ? Or, is there any way to take the existing files for an HD ak47 and overwrite the files for the chinese rifle ? Thanks, sorry if there's a mod out there that does this already or if this is the wrong place to ask.

One of my mods is affecting my movement speed. At one unit under full capacity I am practically walking. I'm not toggling run, hitting caps lock makes me move even slower. As far as I can find, vanilla FO3 doesn't slow you down as you approach max carry weight. 1/200 or 199/200, you run at the same speed. I've never played vanilla FO3. Thanks for any help, this is driving me mad.

[sOLVED] I had downloaded it from: (https://www.modorganizer.org/) and followed these instructions (https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/Guide:Mod_Organizer). It's actually available on Nexus, here: (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6194), and from the video section you can find this video: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwaC7gP7_JM) that shows you how to link MO2 with Nexus. Once that's done, you can just go to the file page on a mod, and instead of manual install, you use the mod manager download option. I had assumed the "mod manager" was this "Vortex" mod manager that's all over the site. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Post: Details: Fallout 3 GOTY Edition, Steam Windows 10 Had Mods working on it, game runs fine. I'm trying to install "HeNMCs_Texture_Pack_for_FO3" (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/12056?tab=files) with MO2. I've been able to install other mods, such as "RH_IronSights - FOSE" (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/6938) by just manually downloading the .zip file, and navigating to it through MO2 with the "install a new mod from archive" button. With "NMCs_Texture_Pack_for_FO3" however, the downloaded file is listed as type: "file". I guess that's a file type unkown to my system. I can open it with 7Zip, but MO2 can't find it in the same way as with other mods such as "RH_IronSights - FOSE". How do I open this type of file with MO2 ? The "Fallout 3 Beginners guide to modding" (https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2247384-fallout-3-beginners-guide-to-modding/) doesn't explicitly state how to download this kind of mod. The MO2 documentation doesn't either (https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/Guide:Mod_Organizer), at least not that I can see. I've used mods on various games before but I'm obviously overlooking something and I'm out of my depth. Any help would be great, thanks in advance. Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this.

If you download it Manually, you then install it with FOMM like you've been talking about. I don't bother with the mod because it's more trouble than it's worth Alright fine, I have an idea, I'll try to install it with MO2. If it works out then cool, future generations can gaze upon this solution but if not, then thread closed, FOOK machine doesn't work. Good lord, if FOOK isn't packaged properly, then NOTHING is going to install it properly, not NMM, MO, MO2, Vortex et al. And indeed MO2 couldn't do it. Unless there is a guide on how to repackage it, or if the mod authors repackage it themselves, we are just banging our heads against the wall. I've downloaded FOOK but it's just being shown as a "file" filetype. I'm using MO2, and I can open it in 7zip and manually replace game files, but I want to toggle it like the other mods. MO2 doesn't recognise it in the browse window like other mods. How do I install it with MO2 ? I've used MO2 fine with other FO3 mods, this is the only one I'm having trouble with. Thanks for any help.
