Hello i am kinda new, been lurking around and love mods. Since you say you are new to modding i wonder if you could make a mod where the weapons of skyrim can get worn out or damaged. Really like that system from new vegas and fallout 3 for immersion. For armor and clothes would be awesome too. One thing that the game felt like it was missing to me was perks too, i know skyrim is not fallout but perks. I have looked into the modding tools and kinda tried around, found most things annoying and hard to use or seemed glitchy. If you wanna team up or something I would gladly try to help make mods or learn, kinda want to learn mod making but lack the drive and distracted most of the time, also got a few physical injuries.
