Alduin's Bane Major Glitch!!! Idle Vision
NEMESISD replied to quake2rail's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I was trying to avoid this if possible, as I do not like leaving problems lingering in my game and want to experience the cut-scene myself. I will do this if I give up, but am now very invested in discovering what went wrong. Of course, there has to be another solution, even if it is going line by line and repairing the coding of the game. I am not willing to do that, but I think that this is a problem caused by some missing file or coding that can easily be repaired if someone has enough knowledge. I may try updating game versions to fix this, which I had not done for a while (new versions can break older, stabler versions). Can anyone with a working cut-scene tell me how many voice files are in their voices.bsa? I think the problem might be there. Mine contains 61,649 files. -

Thank you for that command. I have given you my kudos. While enableplayercontrols did not completely fix the movement issue, it allowed me to test scenarios. I also used rimodcf for visibility. Apparently, the actors are missing their voice files, and are completely incapable of retaliating when hit. They go down on one knee and get back up after being killed, and always return to the spots where they typically stand in the glitched cutscene. They can grunt and turn hostile on the map, though. The dragon can be baited into fighting and retaliates (I had to use the laser-like Midas' frost beam to hit him reliably), but triggers nothing when killed and never talks. I also want to add that no matter where or in what save I read the scroll, I still get teleported to the glitched cut-scene. oh? hmm... reinstall? only thing i can think of... mod conflict, maybe? im not an expert at modding, but it sounds like you have a mod conflict or a mod that a mod manager didnt install/uninstall correctly or that is conflicting with another mod... i havent even played the game all the way through yet tho, so dont give it all away! lol. i just got it a week or two ago and ive been mixing it in with tons of other games i just got. if you DO end up reinstalling, youll have to uninstall your mods first, reinstall, then reinstall the mods. idk. NMM broke my game the first day i used it, so....... i had to reinstall and use wrye bash til i realized NMM wasnt uninstalling my mods when i told it to, they just disappeared from its list. i hope you get it up and running. NO CLUE why the game is acting up... and ive the enableplayercontrols since morrowind. lol I see. I had never learned that command back then. God, I really don't want to re-install. I have so many mods installed in the correct order too... though Nexus Mod Manager has been working well for me. It once and a while messes up an uninstall, but then I re-install the mod and uninstall it. That usually works. I do not think this is a mod problem, though. I had encountered people with this problem many times on different forums and it always persists without mods. They say to read the scroll in a different location and sleep 24 hours makes the scene work, but no matter where the scroll is read, it still sends me to the throat of the world. Maybe if I teleport to whiterun right after reading the scroll, wait 24 hours, travel to the throat and then re-read the scroll it will trigger. If that does not work, I think I am missing the heroes' voice files or scripting. Does anyone know what the heroes' files are called and where they are located? -

Okay. I will give that a try. If I can talk to the people, then maybe I can see if the problem is missing voice files or solely erroneus scripting -- thanks. -

I get the same error as you two. For some reason using the console command tfc just before being warped by the scroll made me able to move my camera like normal without the command still being triggered when I arrive (is this the same for you?) -- I think it also causes a glitch though where you cannot swing your weapons until you reboot the game. This happens even if you load an earlier save. You guys can use tfc to examine the cutscene as I have (after warping to avoid the glitch), but so far nothing I have done has worked. I have tried killing the flying dragon with the kill command, killing adventurers (they go down on one knee), and resurrecting all npcs in the cutscene. No dice. I wonder if this is related to the Esbern glitch where Esbern does not talk, and therefore, does not open his door. That was caused by missing audiofiles for him, preventing the script from activating. It could be that in this cutscene, the actors missing audio files stops events from triggering. What version do you two have? Maybe it is version-specific. I have 1.5.24. -
Alduin's Bane: Can't Move and Nothing Happens
NEMESISD replied to NEMESISD's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I am working on this, and apparently hitting the tfc command just before the scroll warps me gives me free movement of the camera like normal, but the event after being sent back in time still does not trigger. I thought this might be due to the heroes' voices missing, but unpacking voices.bsa does nothing and the VoicesExtra.bsa only contains Esbern's voice. If anyone knows where the heroes' voice files can be found or should specifically be put that would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone else has other theories on what might solve this, I am listening. -
I read the elder scroll at the time wound with nothing equipped after waiting for Parthanaax to finish speaking, and wait for Alduin to speak before moving, as suggested to fix my glitch. The hero who is supposed to say something and stop for the dragon runs to the dragon word stone and stays there, and the dragon continues circling above. On top of this, I cannot move the camera after being warped into the past (I used the tfc command to find the previous out). I also tried loading earlier saves and reading the scroll before going to the time wound, but reading the scroll on a much earlier save and in a different place still sends me straight to the glitched past. I wonder if this could be due to the fact that I have had this quest in my log for a long time and had visited the throat of the world without reading the scroll, or missing voice files or scripts that allow the heroes to complete the cutscene (like missing Esbern's voice files freezes his door). I would appreciate any help, and I already know how to skip the quest and collect the shout, but I hope that is not necessary.

Thanks fot the tips but my crash don't depend on this it happend in three precise place 1 - Near Largashbur 2 - Near Kolskeggr Mine Where the little house is (not happened recently 3 - Near Fort Amol (not happend recently) I had a problem with constant crashing in Dragon Bridge before (and certain other zones), and what worked for me was unpacking the texture files from textures.bsa in your Skyrim data folder, as sometimes the game has trouble looking them up. This will take up a considerable amount of space, and undo all your texture mods (you will have to re-apply them), but it worked for me. I hear the other bsa files, especially meshes.bsa can have similar trouble, and be fixed the same way. There are some different utilities for this like BSA Unpacker. I cannot remember which I used.

Hmm, I see. I have also seen identical or different colored reflect lines on stones recently in the game. If what you say is true, then maybe screwing around with the shader options could work.

Okay, thanks for your help. Ironically, last time I cancelled caliente's body mod and bella's better females nothing changed, so I think have to just start randomly cancelling them as you say. And yes, I like bazongas. Big-time.

Alright, I modified my post with more pictures and a better description. I would greatly appreciate any input on this issue, as it makes the game lose some of its immersion to me.
-
You can try the TIM command in the console, that will make you take damage but not die. It can make you lose your head if someone pulls off a decapitation finisher, however. Alternately, you could find a save manager line Streamsave for Oblivion that saves the game regularly.

The lines are on the sitting lady's arm in the first picture, as well as running down Lydia's legs. In the second picture a line curves from Lydia's under-boob to around the shadow on her belly. They are a bit hard to see at this quality, but definitely easier to see when moving around like reflections. I will take a closer picture in a little bit and add it to my first post.

When around fires, orange dotted lines reflect off of dark parts of characters' skins like light reflecting off of plastic wrap. Here it runs down Lydia's legs and speckles on the sitting lady's arm. The lines move around with the character as if they are covered in some gloss. They only occur on the dark parts of the body: http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/Screenshot78627.png Here are some up close pictures of the phenomenon and how it moves (these lines are created on the side of the body recieving not light): http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/Screenshot279192.png http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/Screenshot279143.png http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/Screenshot279116.png http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/Screenshot279086.png http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/Screenshot278938.png This happens much more clearly with females, but I've seen it occur on my male redguard to a much lesser degree. It gets much harder to see in light or when I turn on the fxaa post processor. In the first picture, the orange line surrounds the shadow on the left (stage left) of her belly, and on the second fxaa post processor makes it virtually invisible on the lady's face: http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/Screenshot71638.png http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/2011-12-23_00002.jpg Does anyone have any ideas why this is occurring or how to remove this? Here is my configuration (Sorry for the low-quality pic, I can re-post if it's a problem): http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/SkyrimPrefs.png

I added a lot of mods recently, and now when I use an alchemy station, the ingredients won't appear. I suspect it is the work of Val's Crafting Meltdown, More Craftables, or Lost Art of the Blacksmith because they affect blacksmith crafting lists, but deactivating all of them does nothing. I think it is either another mod, which seems unlikely, or one of those mods did some damage to my vanilla installation. Here are some pictures of the problem and my Nexus Mod Manager list. http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/loadlist-1.png http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n635/NEMESISD9/Problem.jpg
