Hello All. I am wondering how to set the main page at login, to Skyrim Special Edition. I have been a member for many years, and originally had OldRim as my default game... I have tried looking for a setting, or other way of changing the default game, but as of yet, have not had any luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry for the necro, but did anyone find a fix? I'm also having this issue now. I can't add new or edit any old scripts.

Doors don't work / missing interiors
DeltaAgent26 replied to Deleted2815227User's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
I had this issue with a personal mod that I was working on.... or rather 2 mods, but what was happening was that I had part of an interior location split between two plugins. took me a while to figure it out... I have since rebuilt the room in only one mod, and have been able to link the two areas together with the teleport markers. however, it sounds as if your game has load order issues, corrupted saves and/or game files. go into the game, and make sure your character is outside, save, and exit out of the game. Verify your game cache 1st (through steam) then either with MO, or NMM, resort your load order with LOOT, go back into the game and immediately make a save, before you even move, exit out of the game all the way to the desktop, then restart the game and load the save you just made. if that doesn't work, report back, and I'll make a couple more suggestions. -
I am creating a personal mod, basically an all you need area for leveling my characters.... And an interior space for my followers to "hang out" at when not with me on quests... I already have all the crafting tables working, along with ample supplies, and storage. However, I am trying to make a "training room" where I can spawn a leveled character at the flip of a switch or button. The problem that I am having is: 1.) Cannot drop encounter characters, or leveled characters into the game. I do not get the markers at all. So my questions are these: 1.) is there an SSE Tutorial out there that explain how to make and place leveled characters into an interior? 2.) Could someone please explain how its done, preferably with a tutorial video on youtube or twitch? Another thing that I would like to do, is to link the contents of certain containers, to specific crafting tools. Like all of my forge supplies to the forge, grinding wheel, armor table, and tanning rack -- soul gems to the enchanting table -- ingredients to the Alchemy table, ore to the smelter, etc., so that I don't have to overload my character when trying to craft things.... all items I need (if I have them) would be pulled from storage chests, rather than player inventory... Thank you in advance.

1,) Have you modded your game? 2.) If you modded, have you sorted your load order with LOOT? 3.) Have you cleaned Update, Dawnguard, Hearthfires, Dragonborn and other dirty mods with SSEEdit ? 4.) Have you added any mods that change any of the building, towns, cities? 5.) If you have added any mods that changed any of the items in #4, have you tried running the game without those mods? -
Can't move when i start SSE with a mod

Install F.N.I.S. (Fores New Idles Skyrim) SE version, and run the Tool "Generate FNIS for Users" Any time you add or delete animation or skeleton related mods you will need to run the tool again. -
CTD on Save (Research & Speculation Included)
DeltaAgent26 replied to KnightBlade2's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
How big are your save files getting? Try going into the save game location, and making individual subfolders for each character/playthrough. Leave only the last 5 hard-saves and the 3 auto-saves in the main saves folder to continue with that character/playthrough. The fewer number of saves overall, in the main save folder, 'should' reduce the instances of CTD on save, as it will not have to read/load through as many files. It will also be less cluttered, although with a few extra steps to change to a different character/playthrough. Scripts Are the bane of saves. If you uninstall or install new scripts in the middle of a playthrough, they are hardcoded into the saves. Scripts should only be added before starting a new character or playthrough. If you remove a script in the middle of a playthrough, it will most likey cause crashes, as that script is still being called for from the saves. Try using mods that don't use scripts, whenever possible. A.F.A.I.K. the number of concurrent, running scripts is only limited by your hardware. Also try not to mod the game in the middle of a playthrough. Adding mods is 'usually' okay, but removing them can cause serious problems. Even if you clean the saves. Make a list of the mods you want to keep, for your next playthrough, and have only the ones you know you want, for your next playthrough, so you don't have to uninstall in the middle of a playthrough. -
I just recently started playing Skyrim again. Here is what I have done so far to try to remedy the CTDs. 1.) updated all of my mods that needed updating, 2.) got compatibility patches for those mods that required them, 3.) ran BOSS 4.) cleaned all mods that required cleaning (tes5edit) 5.) created bashed patch 6.) ran FNIS for users even after all of this, I get CTDs when, 1.) hitting the escape key 2.) hitting "~" (tilde) 3.) after adding items to player inventory 4.) exiting console 5.) activating mannequins 6.) load screens 7.) during combat any ideas, and helpful suggestions would be appreciated. and yes I have ENB's (Sheson's [?]) ctd patch installed.

My apologies for repeating any that have already been mentioned. 1. ) More options in character customization a.) more hairstyles in general (with short, medium, long and HD versions of each) b.) change height, weight, and other body parts scale/dimensions 2.) Skin texture replacers similar to UNP, CBBE, SevenBase, etc. (preferably hd) 3.) Class restriction removal on all armors and weapons. 4.) Crafting System Overhaul - Be able to modify weapon and armor specs during crafting a.) or something similar to the creation kit for skyrim that would allow to make items outside of game and import them into game) 5.) Console command enable (so you can add items, experience points, skill points, etc., without having to use the cumbersome mechanics of cheat engine) (e.g. addxp, additem, modav, setav, etc) 6.) Mounted Combat 7.) Party members ride mounts 8.) Romanceable Vivienne!!! 9.) Storage chest in haven.

New installation, new playthrough, ctd during intro....
DeltaAgent26 replied to DeltaAgent26's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Here is something that really helped me, this is my skyrim.ini and here is my skyrimprefs.ini and my enblocal.ini but the settings that really helped are the ones in my skyrim.ini -
New installation, new playthrough, ctd during intro....
DeltaAgent26 replied to DeltaAgent26's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Ok, so, wait until my character exits from the cave, under Helgen, before installing mods, aside from those, that are character creation related. will give that a try... thank you. - EDIT - Thank you very much! I just made it through without ANY CTDs. Now I am re-activating my mods. -
Do you use any other mod organizer besides NMM? if you do not, i would strongly suggest using LOOT, or BOSS. I am guessing, but It is probably a load order issue or a mod conflict, or you may need to "clean" some of the mods with TES5Edit. Along with any dlc you might have. dawnguard, hearthfires, dragonborn.

I have. Its just a resolution rendering on the textures. If the rendered textures are higher than your .ini settings this will happen. And I was able to fix it with a couple of tweaks to my skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini files. open them with either notepad, wordpad, notepad++, or whichever basic text editor you use. in Skyrim.ini [Display] iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=1024(default) change this to 2048 or 4096 make sure to save your changes. in skyrimprefs.ini [Display] iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=1024(default) change this to 2048 or 4096 (should be the same as the change you made in skyrim.ini file) iMaxAnisotropy=1 (default) change to 8 or 16 iMultiSample=0 (default) change to 4 bTreesReceiveShadows=0 (default) change to 1 bDrawLandShaows=0 (default) change to 1 if using any ENBs change this next line: bFloatpointRenderTarget=0 (default) change to 1 You can also get some of the HD textures through mods, which will also help remedy what you are experiencing. like SMIM, Skyrim HD and it's 5 mods,Bathesda's Hi-Res Optimized, and others. But to get the fullest experience with HD content you still need to change the resolution output in your .ini files. Hope this helps. Cheers.

1.) I am using Mod Organizer, skse, skyUI, shesons' memory patch, and ENB CTD patch. 2.) I have tes5Edited all of the dirty mods referrenced by LOOT. 3.) My system specs are in my signature. I have just reinstalled the game, and about 70 or so mods. I have the mods *prioritized* for best (a.f.a.i.k.) stability and I have the mods sorted by LOOT with no warnings, errors or messages. Here are my issues: A.) When the game first loads, the horses and carriages start flopping and spinning all over the place. IF I am not totally nauseated by the time the intro finishes, and the carts actually make it into helgen, they are usually situated in such a fashion that the game will not continue, because the npcs get stuck and do not move into position for the game to progress. B.) If I am able to get past this point, however, my next issue is when after jumping to the inn from the tower, and avoiding Alduin's fire breath, the moment I try to run towards where you have to run between the wall, where Alduin lands again, and the builing next to it. The game CTDs EVERY SINGLE TIME at the exact same spot. I have been trying for several days to get past this point. with no luck. I have re-arranged the priority of my mods, and the load order to try and fix this, but no matter what, it still CTDs at the exact same point.

To uninstall Geforce Experience, you need to fully uninstall ALL nVidia software and drivers. This can be done in two ways, 1.) Through the control panel, then programs and features, uninstall program. a.) Highlight one of the nVidia progams in the list, rt-click and select uninstall. note: you may have to restart your system several times if you choose this method. b.) Repeat step 1.) and 1a.) until all nVidia files are removed from the system. c.) Re-download, and install the lastest nVidia drivers for your graphics card(s), and choose custom installation, and deselect (uncheck) experience from the list of files and programs, and then choose clean installation by placing a check mark in the box next to it.. -or- 2.)Re-download the current nVidia driver installer, and choose custom installation, and deselect (uncheck) experience from the list of files and programs, and then choose clean installation by placing a check mark in the box next to it. This will thoroughly remove any old drivers and software BEFORE the installation begins.

The directx dlls are made by the game/program authors for the game to run at a certain quality level. The individual cards only have drivers and software to run the hardware, which interpolate the DitectX dlls so they can generate output to your monitor(s). However, if you are still experiencing difficulty with your ENB, and getting it to function correctly, go to youtube, and look at Gopher's Skyrim Modding, and ENB tutorial videos. https://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids/playlists

Their is only one kind of ENB. it does not matter if you have Nvidia, Amd or Intel integrated...its all the same ENB...Current is 254. this is true, but there are different D3D9.DLLs to choose from, and one of which must be installed for the OPs card. I just recently re-installed enb using the 254, however, there are several folders in the .zip file. And the D3D9.dlls in those folders correspond to different types of cards whether AMD or nVidia, and also depending on the amount of dedicated onboard memory the card the OP is using... I also am using ENBoost (504) which I believe uses or utilizes the 254 [runtime?], but it has the different d3d9.dlls for memory allocation and such for Sheson's memory patch. So the OP would have to go through them manually, and copy/past the correct D3D9.dll file into his skyrim main folder.

Desperate; Weird shadow around my character
DeltaAgent26 replied to Lopsang47's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I also have a GTX 660TiOC. and by adjusting the rendering distances through the main launcher window, I was able to get around the issue. My settings are set to ultimate, but the draw distances are set one tick left of the right hand side of each slider. This seems to have worked for me. Also one other thing to take into consideration is if you have wearable lanterns, or Dawnbreaker equipped, as they have their own light source. and as such they emit light to a certain radius from the player character, and can cause these weird bubbles of light and shadow around your character.- 8 replies

You will have to have to uninstall the enb, as the new card is not compatible with your current D3D9.dll file you are using for the game. Uninstall all ENB*.* files from your Skyrim installation folder. And reinstall the ENB(s) that correspond with your new graphics card. Also one other thing that might help you is Sheshon's Memory patch. Watch this video on how it works, and how to install it.:

Desperate; Weird shadow around my character
DeltaAgent26 replied to Lopsang47's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I am starting to get the same "wierd shadow" you mention, and it shows up depending on the time of day in the game, as well as if in 1st or 3rd person view. It is caused by your graphics settings. But before you do that, try opening your game through the steam launcher, and change the view distances on the advanced window (2nd tab). Also make sure the "Object Detail Fade" box IS Checked. Then start the game, when you get to the main menu quit. Then start the game with the skse shortcut, and play and save as normal. If you still get the the same effect, change the settings back to all max/ultra, etc. Once you've done that, go into your enblocal.ini and enbseries.ini (located in the main skyrin folder... where the TESV.exe file is) files and make changes there. You should probably read the "S.T.E.P." series notes, and enb tutorials, and such, to make sure you don't change any unnecessary settings that could potentially fry your card.- 8 replies

Game Crashing even more with MVC++ 2013
DeltaAgent26 replied to DeltaAgent26's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I completed that particular mission, as well as that storyline for Auriel's Bow, and I am still getting the virtual call errors. I did e-mail bethesda directly and asked if they would be, are, or will be planning on releasing a patch or hotfix for it. (i.e. specifically the Dawnguard DLC and the c++ errors it causes.) I do not think they (Bethesda) will, I am still hopeful that someone else, somewhere will. UPDATE- I received a response from bethesda, and they basically in a long winded way said... "Tough luck there, buddy!" By referring me to their blog that states "...although we will continue to periodically update Skyrim... we have moved onto other projects..." -
Game Crashing even more with MVC++ 2013
DeltaAgent26 replied to DeltaAgent26's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Yes, it has something to do with the Juib (sp?) mission to find the 10 pages of his writings. I have seen that also. Thank you for reminding me! :) I will have to play through the dawnguard missions in the near future, until then I'm stuck with the crashes, I guess. -
It's not a glitch/bug. there will be another quest later in the game where you will have to fight him again. also just fyi, when posting logs, or load orders, or other text bodies that would take up a lot of space, you can make "spoiler tags" for them.
