  1. Then you should have read what I said because I mentioned that I didn't have any other mods besides my own installed. I know that mods that alter breezehome crash the game but that is why this thread is here to find out exactly why. I HAVE FOUND THE SOURCE OF CTD!!!!! The internal non load doors in the house are the cause of the CTD! Each of the xmarkers I mentioned earlier have a door assigned to them. One door for housecarl room, one door for player bedroom, and one door for child room from hearthfires DLC. I tested this to confirm it does indeed crash when any one of those doors is set to just show up in the house aka not part of an upgrade package but there by default. Go into CK load update and hearthfires, go to breezehome and set any one of those WRdoor02 to none under enable parent and save it as a mod and then load that mod in the game. Use coc whiterunbreezehome command at the console to immediately go to inside of breezehome and notice the CTD right away! Now uncheck that mod and do the same things again and it loads just fine. So far I have tried rotating the doors by one degree or more since they are all at zero or 90 thinking the game has a problem with absolutes on doors in HF but it still crashes. So it must be something else with the doors but THIS CONFIRMS it is the doors crashing the game not navmesh directly. I am gonna try experimenting with replacing the doors or using different settings with the doors and see what happens.
  2. I am getting closer to solving this problem! I have learned that breezehome will NOT CTD as long as I don't enable the alchemy lab, the child room, the player bedroom, or the housecarl room. Disabling or enabling anything else is ok and the house will WORK! I can enter and leave no problem and I am STILL NOT USING that bugged hearthfire navmesh either. I did not load any save games, I simply use coc command from main menu to qasmoke to get the key to breezehome and then coc to whiterun which put me down at the bridge near the meadery. Ran all the way to whterun gate, entered and then went into breezehome through the front door! Only my mod was loaded no other mods. What I did... I loaded hearthfires and my mod with my mod set as active in the CK and I adjusted my mod accordingly so the HF stuff was sitting well in my mod. I did not remove any xmarker parents from any objects. I left them assigned but set them as ignored by sandbox and initially disabled when possible and then moved them far far down -10000.0000 on z axis. I dropped one item in, a noble child bed because my mod pre HF had regular noble bed for guest room (child room in my mod) upstairs so I disabled those child beds by setting them to ignored by sandbox and initially disabled and moved them down too. I made room for both kids stoarage chests. Moved one upstairs see above and left the other alone and moved the alchamy chest to the alchemy table it fit just fine. So in other words I did as little as possible edits to my mod to make it work with hearthfires breezehome changes. So now the question is, why are those few xmarkers causing CTD when they are enabled? I think it has something to do with scripting related to the navmesh not simply because the navmesh was changed by any mod. So what scripts then? I think it is those BYOH scripts because under the house purchase quest those scripts are used in place of pre HF scripts for the player bedroom and maybe housecarl and of course alchemy lab and child room. So if a scripting expert can check out those BYOH scripts and the housepurchase quest in detail, maybe they can find a way to update mods to work correctly? EDIT Scripts would not be to blame because I am manually enabling the xmarkers so it has to be something to do with the objects that are enabled by the xmarkers? Maybe hearthfire changed something in an object somewhere a property or value of some kind and that causes CTD? I am running with ugrids to load at 7 instead of default 5 so I will try changing back to default ugrids settings and do more testing.
  3. I ran tes5edit on my mod following the video tutorial for cleaning mods. Still CTD once I enable the alchemy lab. I am just coc to whiterunbreezehome and prid 000e4ec8 xmarker and it crashes about two seconds later. I see the light source for the alchemy lab pop up immediately and then nothing else and it all crashes. Something I found interesting is some new scripts in hearthfires that moves stuff around from one chest to another using linkref. I don't know what that is there but it was not there when my mod was made and I think that has something to do with it. I delinked all the linkrefs and removed the scripts for all the chests using it and also there were some linkrefs all over most items in the alchemy lab so got rid of those and it still doesn't work. I think maybe I used the wrong masters to update my mod. Maybe just use hearthfires and not skyrim or update? My mod file should already have those records and already depend on those masters so only using hearthfires as a master is the correct thing to do when updating a mod for hearthfire compatibility? I really don't want to use that messed up hearthfires navmesh. By using it I will be contributing to additional problems instead of sticking to the mesh I made from pre hearthfire work. At this point I don't know what is causing the problem but the only way to find out is to try using just hearthfires as a master and see what happens.
  4. Ok some more testing and I found out what is going on. I can coc to breezehome just fine but when I start to enable the decorate xmarkers that is when I found out what is going on! The alchemy lab when enabled will cause the CTD. So what is so special about it then? I thought it was the navmesh but no it is the alchemy lab? So now I am going to try and fix that.

I am modding all my major hold house mods to work with hearthfire and I have already made room for both alchemy lab and childs room to exist in the same house so now I need to change some scripting so the alchemy lab is not deleted when the player buys the childs room. I made an xmarker for guest beds that I added and those guest beds are what will be changed to the child furniture, So I figured out what scripts to change to allow for those guest beds that change to be enabled ONLY when the player buys an upgrade they would normally be associated with pre HF like for example the loft xmarker in breezehome I had one guest bed up there associated with that xmarker but I changed it to a new xmarker that is just in the script for the loft upgrade as enabled along with the loft xmarker. But for the child room upgrade I need to be able to disable that new marker so the child furniture will be there instead. I was looking at the hearthfire scripts but they are confusing. I am doing all this from the housepurchase quest. What I am thinking is there is some other quest that I have to edit but I found getdisabled items in the child room dialogue listing the alchemy lab. I changed those to the new xmarker but that isn't the only thing to change is it? Anyone else trying to do this with their mods? EDIT I also want to change the dialogue from replace alchemy lab with childs room to replace guest room with childs room etc. but it looks confusing in housepurchase now, not used to dealing with this hearthfire crap lol.
  6. Okay I think I may have fixed it but it only works correctly if you have NEVER been in whiterun or breezehome! I used coc command to go to qasmoke from the main menu and got the key for breezehome, then coc to the outskirts of whiterun. I went to breezehome and entered NORMALLY YEAH!!!! NO CTD!!!!!!!!! But if I try ANY save game at all it will CTD every time. I am gonna go try that save game cleaning mod and see what it does soon but it looks like my breezehome mods for hearthfire will be new game only for now. Once you save and come back later after starting a new game yeah it works but any and all saves before my mod is used and it won't work. Whoever screwed up the navmesh in hearthfire should have to sit through ten thousand CTD playing their most enjoyed save game file while someone with a bull horn stands behind them and screams CTD!!! as loud as possible every single time their game CTD lol.
  7. I just finalized the navmesh outside of the house again too and it still CTD. The only two things I can think of right now is that I have to not set my mod as active the first time loading it with hearthfire in CK or just remake my mod using hearthfire. This really sucks, talk about a huge time waster WHY did the devs mess with the navmesh? They could have just IGNORED IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I deleted that two triangle island and finalized my navmesh and tried it and it CTD so I went back to CK and looked at the details of my mod and seleted the navmesh with D next to it and pressed delete key which brought up the dialogue that it will be ignored. When the mod loaded and I went into navmesh mode I could see where beth merged the island with the default navmesh! So I moved that navmesh out of the way and finalized it and then finalized my navmesh and saved. Tried it again in game and still CTD! How to fix this?
  9. Trying to update my breezehome mods now and no matter what I do in the CK the CTD still occurs when trying to enter breezehome. I found a clean save here on the nexus it has a save point just after defeating the first dragon and going back dragonsreach. I used that save and bought the house and still the problem is there. Here is what I did to make my mod compatible with hearthfire... Load the CK and check skyrim, update, and hearthfire and my mod and set it to active then ok. Everything loads and it looks like hearthfire changes are showing in my mod aka HF stuff all over the place so I adjusted HF stuff to where I wanted it in my mod. I tested and finalized my navmesh which didn't change since loading everything this way. I even went to the outside space in front of breezehome and finalized that navmesh that is just around the front of breezehome and still I get CTD every time. What exactly needs to be fixed? Do I need to delete the "island" navmesh of two triangles in lydia's room? I checked the default house with hearthfire loaded the same way as described above but no mods loaded or active and noticed that little island is gone. I have read some posts elsewhere that the link from the navmesh to the main door needs to be updated so I deleted a vert of that green triangle at the door in the house and then created the vert again and made a triangle again and tested and finalized the navmesh again and it turned green again near the door just fine but still CTD! I am gonna go delete that island navmesh and see what happens. Will make a backup of my mod before doing that just in case. I have noticed that other modders have fixed the CTD with their mods and breezehome already so how did they do it? The only simple answer I can think of is they remade their entire mod from scratch after loading hearthfire which is insane and not gonna happen for me lol just want to fix it.
  10. OP I WANT YOUR JOB!!!!! gimmegimmegiimme!!! lol two titans is two thousand dollars! That would get you a better computer and two amd 7970 cards which in recent testing on some sites seem to be just as good as or even better in some games than the titan under some circumstances. The only lead the titan has over anything else is 6gb vram but the price completely kills that lead. Even if I had your job OP I still would not buy even one of those cards. Nvidia is just crazy and wants our attention right now since amd got the next gen console deals.
  11. Ok it looks like the tenth image is what is used by the preview image space for me don't know if it is different for anyone else. I don't want it changed just for me I just want to know is it a temporary bug that will go away for everyone in a few days or what to do? Since it is the tenth image for me I could just upload my 1st image as the tenth from now on but it would be nice to have that green check button back. :biggrin: EDIT I just dragged my 1st image in one of my mod pages to the tenth spot and waited about five mins then dragged it back again and it works now. So if it is a bug then maybe the bug is the preview space is locking on to the tenth image instead of the first? So dragging to tenth and then back again after several mins fixes it so far.

Okay so today the site layout changed and I like the new pic for the background thing so that adds two buttons on every image now instead of just the delete button but still no green checkmark button for preview image? It actually takes effort to remove something so I am guessing that the only reason something like this preview pic chooser button was removed is because it interfered with the drag and drop pictures option somehow? If I can't get the right pic for the preview anymore I am gonna have to resort to using a walkthrough video instead and just one image so it can't get it wrong about what image I want for the preview pic... maybe that is the reason why the button is missing now? to make people use less images?
  13. That is the problem, it doesn't use the first image anymore just some random image from all the images I upload. There is no special preview pic area under the edit attributes area to drag to or from and under the images section there is no preview pic area to drag to. I know I can change the order of images in the image section but it throws off the order of the images after that. If I knew which number the preview pic was always going to be I could just take my shots in relation to it but it appears to be random.
  14. There doesn't seem to be a way to change the preview pic on my mod pages anymore? Used to be a green checkmark on the image section for that but it is gone now and the wrong pic is always chosen for that preview image how do I change that?
  15. Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going to wait minium of one month or end of march max end of april and then buy an amd card. I have a gtx560ti but it is only 1gb vram and skyrim stutters a lot outside with HD texture packs and ugrids7 going and some HD texture mods of my own too. The main thing I am looking at is large amount of vram like 3gb or 4gb depending on prices in a month time and what amd driver support team is doing lately. The thing with amd is they KNOW their drivers have always sucked but they either just didn't care or could not justify spending as much money on driver support as nvidia has been spending. But now some heads have rolled and things have changed at amd! I have always depended on an nvidia card but I can't justify buying another one with their crap looking coolers and high prices. I am concerned that nvidia will try to keep prices high for whatever reason throughout the year thanks to titan. I keep up with some brand names in pc tech and I consider myself "lucky" because so far in the last 15 years I have never had a bad motherboard in my main pcand I have bought many of them, plus I have built many pc for other people using asus motherboards too and never had problems with them either. I have always used asus brand for that part and my current video card is asus but I have been staying away from asus now since they seem to have some kind of odd on again off again bad parts problem. People have been complaining about them for the last year or more as having terrible warranty service and declining quality. I am already concerned that my current video card could probably die out at any time but considering it has lasted since I got it in late 2011 and never had artifacts I think I am ok for now. I currently run a gigabyte brand motherboard and have no problems with it. I have owned xfx brand video cards in the past when they still made nvidia products and never had problems with them but I am seeing a lot of complaints about them for amd cards. I was looking at a sapphire card here on newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202006 The thing I like the most is the exhaust design is what it is supposed to be. Most cards have a second monitor plug covering HALF of that exhaust so I know this thing will cool good. Now I just have to wait the price down. This has to be the only card made by ANYONE that I have seen with a good exhaust on it like that so far this year. I don't and won't water cool a video card there is just too much involved in that and I don't have the time or money for it so the cooler matters a lot to me. I have seen some of the worst that amd has to offer in the driver dept over the last 15 years as I was in and out of various computer shops and small companies. Nvidia is not innocent in this problem either, their disaster with adobe flash player throughout the entire year of 2011 will not be forgotten lol. So for me to go amd is a big leap, I also plan on building a secondary system all amd for browsing the web and fixing the occasional computer problem for others. I am going A-10 5800k and mini itx for that with asrock board. I wish that gigabyte had a mini itx board for A-10 processors but they don't. I might be able to sell off my 560ti to someone after this month but even if I don't I could throw it in the secondary system and use it until it drops and then switch over the the built in amd video. If anyone could post their driver problems with skyrim here for amd 7000 series and latest drivers that would be great thanks. It would be helpful in trying to figure out what I have to deal with under amd drivers. EDIT Look at this review of the gtx titan: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/02/21/nvidia_geforce_gtx_titan_video_card_review#.USrI5leuVKU Some of the benchmarks show an older gtx680 is actually faster than the titan and in those same benchmarks amd 7970 seems to be just as good or slightly faster! Even when the 7970 is slow in some cases it still hangs in there pretty close to the titan and for much less money too. I think the price of titan is a large factor in my decision to buy amd.
  16. DOH! I just came back here to post that it was the room marker under portals and rooms view that I didn't know existed lol. Thanks for the video links too, kind of scary to see someone modding fallout game with essentially the same editor as skyrim.
  17. I have been working on a mod for vlindrel hall for a month now and I am finally close to finishing it except there is one big problem. I always wanted to add on to that area behind the fireplace in the living room, it seemed like it was really meant to be a hallway or something through there. So I removed that fireplace and made the rest of the house there. Looks great in the CK but there is a lighting bug just past there. I can't get anything to light up there unless I move it a certain distance away from that area just behind where that fireplace used to be in the living room. That is not the biggest problem though, the big problem is that anything that is added past the back of that fireplace area does not show in game until the player moves past that area. Looks like an empty void until I run past it in game. Then everything shows up that I added but if I turn around and look back there is nothing behind me until I run back to the living room. Why is this happening? I did not right click markarthvlindrelhall in the cell editor and change anything there. So there must be some default setting that is causing the problem? or maybe there is some bug in the game that makes this happen? Has anyone else noticed this? I am thinking now that maybe this is why there seems to be a lack of mods for this house here because just about everyone wanted to use that same area the way I did and it didn't work?

Yes it is what ends up happening that actually counts and that is my point, bethesda could have written the story some other way instead of making the nords or the thalmor or the empire so extreme. Why make characters in a game extreme? Why push hot button issues in a form of entertainment? Just like the storyline of farcry2, this kind of writing has no place in a video game. This is a video game, a form of entertainment not a $59.99 liberal soap box. I don't remember oblivion being so extreme when it came to the nords but I have not played it for a long time. Also notice how the player character appears to be a nord in the tv commercials and picture advertisements. With extreme nord characters, it is like they are pushing you to not be a nord or not be extreme. That is not fair to the player who may not see nords as extreme but just nords. My first playthrough I sided with the stormcloaks to see if ulfric would just get tullius to yield and admit that the thalmor are wrong but nope he grabbed power for himself and killed tullius. So I went back to a previous save and sided with the imperials only to find a really lame ending there too. What they should have done was let the player negotiate an end to the civil war for the rest of the main game instead of having to pick sides later so there could be a storyline in a DLC that let the player work together with the imperials, stormcloaks, and everyone else to get rid of the thalmor. Instead of doing that obvious good idea they chose to push politics and liberal preaching. Currently in america where this game is made? the extremes that make the most noise are the liberals since they own most of the news and entertainment media there.
  19. Bethesda wrote the game that way to sensationalize a liberal view that tradition and culture are bad. Comparing immigration to it can't be done because that too is usually taken out of context and hyped up by liberal media to make people forget that the issue is about people crossing a border illegally and violating the sovereignty of a country and people. The issue is not about what color or ethnic background people are that cross the border illegally that is just something liberals use to make even the thought of complaining about someone breaking the law in that way bad to think about. Liberals get their support from support groups for illegal immigrants and the people they recruit for their causes. The truth of simply upholding the law gets in the way of their supporters so they have to hide the truth behind bad examples in the media like racist weirdos living on compounds and various hate groups. Conservatives just kind of ignore the illegal immigration issue because illegals provide cheap labor to the companies and farmers that support the conservatives. If I crossed the border illegally in any other country in the world besides america I would be shot dead or imprisoned and then tortured in prison and possibly die there, but if I cross the border of america illegally I get all kinds of free stuff and free healthcare from something called medicaid. I can also drive a car without a license or insurance and use a fake ID everywhere I go. If I am caught jaywalking and get a ticket the cop will have to accept my phony ID which could have an address that I don't really live at printed on it. I could then tear up the ticket in the cop face and in 90 days when they show up at the phony address on my ID they won't find me there so they don't bother looking for people like that after writing them a ticket. The cops also don't bother arresting them anymore in some states because there is no room in the local jails and there are diplomatic problems with the countries they come from if one of them is arrested and held for a long period of time. So they have free reign in america and do almost anything bad except kill someone and get away with it while the people living there have to obey every single law and pay every single citation and fine they get or else. I would like to see anyone from anywhere else besides america decide to legally immigrate to america and go through all the legal crap and spend thousands of dollars and pass several written and verbal tests which are extremely hard to pass to eventually YEARS later become a citizen of the US go stand at the border and watch people cross it illegally and then ask them how they feel about that. Having pride in your country is viewed as racist only by liberals because tradition and culture get in the way of progress and liberals want to progress all over your life and make you just like them. YES the storyline of this game does seem similar to american politics and I can't stand it. Seems like bethesda has liberal writers on their staff and other game companies too. Remember the silly storyline in crysis warhead? What about farcry 3? The beginning of farcry 3 the guy that looks almost exactly like the player character from farcry 1 is shot dead as if the writers are saying to the player, we are killing off that idea right here. I can't stand liberal storylines in games trying to teach and preach to the player which is exactly what liberals complain about conservatives doing to them. Also why is it that every single elderscrolls game has to start off with the player locked up or jailed or bound why is that? What are they saying with that? I can't stand liberals and I can't stand the greed and absentminded behavior of conservatives but such is politics. Too bad there are not several planets out there where people can move to that don't have corruption, greed and bad poilitics ruling them I would move there asap!
  21. This bug is finding new ways to annoy me! Now I have a nearby hallway and a corner of that hallway has the same bug but to fix it I would have to move it and to move it means moving half of the entire cell and adding one more hall section to get around it. I hate this bug! it is like some kind of non light zone in the cell where objects stay dark unless a light is directly over them and then they light up but everything around the object goes dark? The rough shape of this zone for me seems to be rectangular but it sits diagonal in the cell. I right clicked the cell in the cell view menu and discovered something about quads 1-4 but they were all unchecked and the check option was for force hiding landscape. I checked the coordinates of this dark zone in my cell and it is not near zero zero zero more like far away from it so I am not in the exact middle of the cell or something like that. Why the hell is this happening? I checked in a lot of places can't find any info only a ton of complaints about dark face bug for npc and generic complaints about lights cancelling each other out. Does anyone know what the hell this is?
  22. I always thought that was something only premium users could do... did I actually post that oops lol. Don't get any ideas from that ok? All you need now is the ability to upload more than five images at a time maybe more like 20 at a time or all the images in a folder, max could be 40 or something. Going five at a time guarantees it will take almost an hour to post a mod even if you type out your descriptions first in notepad or word it still takes time to upload images.

I have been thinking about wasting calder on my next playthrough since I never use him but there are other npc far more deserving of this special quest:-) Why anyone would kill lydia is beyond me, with the right mods she is super hott!!!!! Eola seems like the right choice but you would have to complete that terrible quest of eating dead people to get her. Maybe that old guy in the silverblood inn that doesn't have any work to do anymore since the forsworn attacked the shipments coming in. He always complains he has nothing to do and just sits around anyway. Too bad we can't get maven blackbriar to work as a follower even temporarily.
  24. Would that be a 660 or a 660ti? Memory bandwidth is very different between those two cards. That amd processor might be the problem too since amd had so much trouble getting it going and problems with motherboard manufacturers when it first came out etc. Also if you have shadows cranked up with ini settings changes and all shadows turned on like land shadows and tree shadows and your ugrids to load is 7 or higher you will get the stuttering. I have a gtx 560ti 1gb model and I only get stuttering with ugrids set to 7 and shadows all cranked up. Oh and using the official HD texture packs will make this happen too for some people like me that only have 1gb vram.
  25. I moved the whole room slightly farther away from where it was and this black furniture bug went away! Before that I even dropped in an occlusion plane and it still didn't fix it but I left that plane there because it is supposed to help with increasing performance by not rendering stuff that can't be seen behind it. I don't understand why moving the room or even just the furniture farther away worked but it was not caused by light sources nearby because I moved all the light sources far away and it still did this black dark texture thing with only one light source in the whole cell so it has to be some invisible bounds for cells or something.
