  1. What if you modded in the extra beds to a house? I am working on a player house mod that adds two beds, when I get the hearthfire version done the kids bed will be moved upstairs so the alchemy lab can also be used and there is another bed in the basement. I could change the basement bed to kids bed if I had to or even double bed for kids upstairs so two of them could sleep up there. But what is the kid limit per house in hearthfire?
  2. I have been wondering about the adoption limit myself. I just got dawnguard and hearthfire recently but haven't played them yet. What is the total adoption limit? Also what is the total adoption limit per major hold? From what I am reading here so far it seems like only two kids can be adopted in the whole game two kids total?
  3. Yes I understood what you are saying and thanks for posting that. That is what I did when I first made my thanes reward mod but what I learned the hard way was to look at and copy exactly what was already there and understand how it all works together which I still don't know much of but I do understand how quest aliases work now for favor quests like becoming thane of a hold. What I was hoping to see in your post was something I missed or have not tried yet but you did things the same way I did in relation to what I wanted to know.
  4. I am curious as to how you figured it out because I have a mod that does something similar only at the end of the thane quests. I figured out that the quest aliases are where the changes are made and also how to properly add the items in scripts sections was a real pain but I also want to add one thing to the list of stuff to buy for breezehome and just haven't gotten around to it yet still working on breezehome.
  5. I hate the creation kit! No matter what I do, I can't move lydia to another room and use her old room for something else. I was planning on using her room as a guest room because there is a mod around here somewhere that allows the player to let npc live in their houses. Also I want to make breezehome the same between non crapfire DLC and crapfire DLC users so that means that lydia's old room would be the child room and the alchemy table would stay in place where it was by default. When I move lydia to another room that I made properly, she will get stuck at her bed as if she is about to go to sleep but she will not move from there anymore. Now if I leave her in her default room then everything is fine she will go to bed, wander around etc. because I know how to fix her default bed problems aka wrong bed model and in wrong position and that navmesh island needs to be moved away and the other navmesh added two polys to get to the bed. Also, I have noticed that using COC command straight to breezehome interior, the housecarlstart items are gone if they are moved anywhere from where they were by default. Any new added items for housecarlstart will not show up anywhere or sometimes only some will show up but only in the default lydia room location. This is from COC command from the main menu no savegame at all. My guess is the marker for the housecarlstart and housecarlpackage have to be deleted and added again but that won't work because other things are using them in quest scripts for housecarl and they will complain if I delete the markers. I also can't delete lydiaRef and make it again because that name with Ref at the end is not in the game files only her name without Ref at the end.and if I delete her the CK complains about dependents that would have to be added again and it would probably mess up a lot of stuff just to get her into another room:-( I have made my breezehome mod total of two times now trying to avoid too many edits and bugs. So now I have to make it a third time from scratch and just leave lydia and her stuff alone or there will be bugs. Has anyone run into this stuff before with moving housecarls?
  6. Look at the jaysus swords mod latest version. There is a sword in the latest version called dovaluv and it has glowing gems in the hilt. He put the glowing things on a weapon so it must be possible to put them on an armor too. Must be some more info in that nif file for that sword.
  7. Finally found out I have to go outside the home and then run the resetinterior commands then wait one hour and then go inside. Now the shield rack is working right and all the things on it are in the right place. Only bug I found so far is the weapon rack near the door loses any mounted weapons upon entry after running resetinterior command. So I have to remove things added from previous save before exiting and running commands. Also, I really hate navmeshing, it is really hard to get lydia to go to sleep, most of the time she will just wander back and forth in and out of her room but she does sleep now I have watched her do it lol. Apparently even if you only replace a barrel or something that does not appear to affect the navmesh you still have to finalize the navmesh before lydia or any npc will go to bed properly use stuff etc. Hopefully I can get the mod uploaded tomorrow evening!
  8. You know that only your character will use the cbbe stuff right? To get the other characters to use cbbe you have to find a mod for npc that uses cbbe mod. Search the mods here for cbbe npc and it should all come up.
  9. Found a savegame here on nexus so I have been testing with that and it helped me to solve some problems as well as commands like resetinterior and pcb. Only problem I am having now is the shield rack in the bedroom. Since I moved it and the wall it was on a bit, when I get into the house and even after using those commands mentioned and waiting for hours, the shield and greatswords on the rack are still in their old place before the rack and the items were moved. I have to take them and then put them back on the rack for things to display properly on the shield rack? How do I fix this? Maybe delete them in CK then re add them properly?
  10. I ended up trying to make my own breezehome mod and so far so good but I can't test it with any of the upgrades installed without spending hours on the game to get the house normally first. Does anyone have the console commands to enable the upgrades for breezehome? or maybe there is a savegame floating around out there that accepts ugrids 7 where the house is already bought and upgraded?
  11. The first time I played skyrim I hung around breezehome too much. Once I bought the other player houses I began to move my stuff into them and feel more comfortable with them. the only major problems I had with player homes was proudspire manor and all the bugs that come with it. The cobwebs that won't go away, the housecarl bedroom that has to be fixed with the console and the other minor things that eventually require the use of the console to fix. Thankfully there are some mods that just fix the bugs for proudspire manor. That house is probably the only other house besides breezehome that doesn't have those bugged display cases where you put something in and arrange it just right, then come back later and it is all on the floor in front of the display case. I am thinking about getting hearthfire but only if it works with npcguard correctly too. I wanna get those plots of land in minor holds... would be nice to see a mod that slays dragons for you while your gone and while you are living there like, some guard or something is outside manning a floor mounted crossbow contraption with magic dragon killing bolts loaded. So when the dragon flies overhead the guard shoots him down in one shot. You just have to go to the dragon and claim the soul or the crossbow contraption can store it for you to use later on. Even better would be a minor hold upgraded with a perimeter of these contraptions on the upper levels of guard towers and walkways that just shoot the dragon down no soul claiming to do the dragon just goes down and bursts into flames. That would be a house in a minor hold to live in! burning dragons falling out of the sky and town npc activities not interrupted.
  12. Went through all breezehome mod pages and none of them do just these simple things. Every single one is full of smelters and grinding wheels and five or more chests and and... nobody wants to keep it simple. How hard is it to navmesh a basement for breezehome? I have never done navmeshing before I think I will go check on it because I don't think I am gonna find this kind of mod around here.
  13. What is the correct way to get skyrim with all DLC working? I am considering the idea of getting both dawnguard and hearthfire and just start a new game with all of them installed but I have read some places around here that hearthfire is bugged and messes up breezehome and some other stuff? Also dawnguard messes up normal attack and you can only do power attacks? So what is needed to get them all properly working and in what order? I found a mod to stop vampires from killing everyone for dawnguard and as long as it works and bugs are fixed I might want to try it soon.
  14. YES THIS!!! I usually end up using that straight back default hairstyle but I hate that it has a ponytail. I think most people that make hair mods care mostly for sexualizing female characters anyway. Apachii sky hair has some roman character short hair styles but I hate those because they look like the jerk down the street look lol. Would be nice to get some basic male hairstyles because not everyone plays as a female character. Also those old guy default hair styles with baldness are terrible! People already don't want to be bald in the real world, why would they want to be bald in a video game?
  15. I made a backpack mod with other things to go with it called support gear. But it too does not do what the OP wants. I don't like the idea of an infinite container like chests to begin with and then to carry one around it is like carrying around a tardis from doctor who or an eternity room. It would be better if all chests and containers in the game had a limit of what they could hold say X number of anything but they don't so this is why the carry limit system works because a player or npc can't carry more than X carry weight. But it should be limited for containers it would make much more sense. I like the resident evil 5 inventory system where you had only so many slots to put stuff in. That made sense because you could extend it with some kind of wearable bag gear or something or was that RE4? anyway that is how it should be, more bags you can wear more slots you have to store stuff. Also I can't stand how you can just pack giant stuff away like shields and 2H weapons into your pants pocket or modded backpack. There should be some gear you have to buy that only holds those things so you could then carry more than one of them at a time. I know that sounds crazy because those things are worth money in game but the immersion would be better that way. Maybe the same gear that holds the extra shields and 2h weapons would work with 1h weapons too.
  16. Ohhh! That is making me have some sexy time thoughts about skyrim:-) The whip animations alone would be really hard for someone to do and I don't know if animations from oblivion can be ported to skyrim by conversion of any kind. I have been wondering why a simple thing like a whip was not in skyrim actually, they have reigns for horses and carriages, they could have whips for... people too hehe.
  17. I can't stand that females and followers don't have a sheath for their swords. Why does this happen? Can I fix this with the CK for all 1H swords? How can this be fixed and has someone made a mod that fixes this?
  18. When you change your motherboard the replacement will likely have a different chipset than the old mobo. Because of this, the drivers for that old chipset are trying to load and windows is like uh, no. So unless you get a replacement with the same or sometimes very similar chipset it won't work and you will have to reload windows. The best thing to do is to use an SSD drive for your c:\ drive and another hard drive like 1TB or 2TB drive as storage. Even better would be to have two SSD drives, one as the main and another as a place to install games and apps, then the big drives for storage. This really comes in handy when you have to change a mobo and don't want to lose any info because any mods will be installed in that second SSD drive instead of the main drive. So you can wipe that main drive all you want and not lose anything, of course remember to stop using the my documents folder on the main drive too and use a mydocs folder on one of the big storage drives instead. That way anytime you reformat, you don't have to waste time copying files from storage to main drive. You have to think of the main drive as an unsafe and volatile area that should not contain any of your files but only files for windows and devices like sound card and video etc. Those devices get their files stored on the main drive but that is it, everything else goes on the other SSD drive. I know there are a lot of bad experiences with SSD drives posted around here and other places but if you get the right brand of SSD you won't have to worry about anything and if you use SSD for main drive, the big storage drives will only be accessed when they are needed not all the time like the main drive is accessed. Windows vista/7/8 churns a lot, always doing something in the background with files. For normal hard drives that includes defragmenting the hard drive. But with an SSD drive there is no need to defragment because SSD doesn't work like that. For SSD there is something called TRIM or also called garbage collection and the SSD drives now have that built in so they don't have to depend on windows to do it or the mobo chipset software to do it. So SSD for windows will hopefully mean less churn and more performance. Think of an SSD drive as an expendable item, it won't last as long as a normal hard drive but they are faster at loading things and help preserve the life of a big hard drive by working as the main drive. We are near the end of the year, the economy EVERYWHERE sucks bad, prices have never been better for SSD drive as a result and you could get a really good deal on a sammy 830 or crucial m4 128gb or 256gb and better drives are out too like corsair neutron with different controller than sandforce (bout time!) or get intel SSD they have a lot of different models for different prices. You want to stick with SATAIII don't go below that even if you don't have a SATAIII port on your new mobo you can always get one later with an addon card. You could also get a little risky and buy one of those ocz revo drive PCI-E cards which are basically the guts of two SSD drive on one board working as RAID drives by default for faster performance. They might have worked out the bugs on those now and they have them in 128gb and 256gb models now I think so they should be cheaper than they were a year ago. I am actually thinking about going this route and using my SATAIII ports for SSD app drives instead of main boot drive ports. I am under the impression that the revo drive is faster than other SSD not only because of RAID configuration but also because it is PCI-E based and should be even faster than two SATAIII SSD drive in raid? Anyways sorry to ramble with a wall of text but it is better to consider these things and if you have the money it would be worth it.
  19. To that guy named navmesh that is always screwing up the CK and decided to play a cruel joke on me by putting a major nav point right next to the front door of breezehome, FU lol. I hope you go straight to oblivion with belethor's wood carrying assistant and that one guard that always talks about belethor too and they have to tell you about belethor's shop for all eternity!
  20. I have looked at probably all of the breezehome mods on this site and I have yet to find something simple among them that does the job of what I am looking for. Breezehome is called such because there are gaps in the wood walls and ceiling upstairs. So basically it is a shanty house aka ghetto house but not quite as bad as previous beginner homes in oblivion game. What I am looking for is just some simple fixes and additions to breezehome. No fancy smelters and mannequins and display cases and luxury balconies no NONE of that. First of all turn lydia's bed around so she can finally be happy with it and sleep in it instead of staring at me all the time and eating the same piece of bread all day/night. Second, fix the top of the stairs so the player doesn't get stuck there every time. Third, fill in the gaps in the walls and roof upstairs ONLY after the player has bought the additions to upstairs. Fourth, make a fireplace on the wall instead of right in the middle of the floor. The fireplace should be on the wall to the left looking from inside the home at the front door, move the overhead food racks that are above the floor pit to be above the fireplace too. Fifth, make a SIMPLE basement that can be accessed by walking down some stairs or something similar in that little room where the alchemy lab is. Move the alchemy lab into the basement somewhere away from the stairs down there in another corner. Put some non bugged working correctly bookshelves down there near the alchemy lab, basically all the stuff that was in the lab should be down there in the basement instead. Additional weapon racks can be downstairs as well as two mannequins if possible but there could be one small bed like lydia's bed size down there for guests. I am thinking hearthfire compatiblity here with the extra bed. The weapon racks don't have to be the fancy red carpet kind either they could be just the wood type where the weapons are vertical. I don't want breezehome to look like proudspire just keep it breezehome ya know? No need for enchanting lab or smithing whatever stuff. That is what the REST OF WHITERUN is for lol! I can't stand these mods that make breezehome into some kind of introvert's paradise. How else is the player gonna increase speechcraft and other skills all by themself without talking and bartering with npcs? Sixth optional, a small safe down in the basement or in the main bedroom for immersion and if possible change the outside of the house to have a chimney so the fireplace doesn't look fake. Some clothes closets down in the basement or in the main bedroom instead of that useless table up there. That is it, nothing fancy no new textures except maybe for the holes in the roof inside fix. No million septim addons here just some very simple stuff. I can't stand all the extra stuff other mods pile on like that is the only house in the game to live in. I don't have hearthfire yet and from what I have read so far it breaks a lot of breezehome mods so there would probably have to be two versions of the same mod, one for users who don't have hearthfire and one for those that do. Also I have read on this site that navmeshing is a real pain for breezehome and adding mannequins has them running around inside there all the time I don't know why that happens. Thanks to anyone that does this, it would be like a big bug fix for breezehome vanilla users like me that just want something simple and want lydia to go to bed finally. I found a mod on here recently that fixed her bed and added some kind of patrol schedule for her too but I can't find it on here anymore, the modder must have been banned or something. But I don't think they added the basic things I mentioned here it was just fixed lydia's bed and gave her something to do.
  21. About voyager, robert picardo the actor for the doctor is also the voice of many characters in skyrim. Watching ds9 again myself, waiting for the HD redo of tng and ds9 coming out soon maybe next year or so I heard. There is a guy on a forum called scifi-meshes.com and he has already remodeled the ent-d for use in the tng remake and posted screens of it there and on some other sites I think. Yes voyager sucks and they could have made it better, that one episode where george from seinfeld showed up as a mysterious alien was really annoying. I mostly watch voyager just to see compare the differences in various episodes of seven of nine's boobs since they seemed to change shape a lot from one episode to the next. Couldn't stand how they toned her body down in later episodes.
  22. I just don't understand why did he choose the crysis 3 engine? crytek sucks I can't stand them! that blur effect is annoying and it looks like he didn't bother to turn it off either. You can see it in the videos going around for this game where they pilot gets into the ship and looks around it gets blurry every time the pilot looks to the left or right. Also I hope they make a cool launch and landing animations because the way he took off in the video he just kinda bumbled out of the launch bay, looked like something mr bean would do lol. Chris roberts has a lot to live up to because he has to beat all his previous games with just one new game. He really should have chosen a better game engine or made his own. Mechwarrior online runs on a new engine and they are releasing next year. Even if it meant waiting another six months or more to make their own game engine they should have done it. I am worried that the crysis 3 engine will be a big problem for this game.
  23. I tried getting rid of that in ps with surface blur filters or just any other blur filters after selecting the specific areas that are blocky on the normal maps. Altering the default normals is one thing but making your own is another. The normal filter that works with photoshop is not as good as making normals with 3d modelling programs like mudbox or 3dsmax or maya. What I do because I don't have those fancy modelling programs is overlay the ps normal map filter results on the default normals and then vary their degrees of opacity depending on the situation. So I can get some of that default normal showing through my new normal just copy and paste but really blur filter is your only choice right now in ps without knowledge of any fancy tricks in ps. I noticed that the blocks are worse when you upsize a lower res default normal to fit your higher res diffuse. Also blurring the whole normal slightly works sometimes but some normals have lighter areas that are almost erased by blurring.
  24. You need a 27 inch monitor. I got one of those and playing games in general now is so much better. You could always hook up your tv and use it as a monitor just to get bigger size for playing skyrim but it would not look as good.
  25. NOOOOOOOO! All my houses gone except the one I walked out of would probably be breezehome lol that would suck for me. Like the idea of falmer or snow elf trying to take the throne though. I bet they make it so that the dwarves can't come back because they exist in a state that is more preferred now or something like that. Probably run into that one guy from the college that went where they did though.
