  1. Well yeah you couldn't distribute it but you could use it for yourself or you could ask permission of the modders of those mods they would probably say ok because they know it would be a big time saver for people using their mods not having to do that work themselves.
  2. You can get married in this game, why not boink your wife too? Would be interesting to see an alternate to this AP mod where it is restricted to only boinking your wife if you are married or you can develop relationships with npc over time and at some point sex is part of the relationship just like reality. Then use the AP mod to make a street girls mod for the shady towns like riften so when you get into town, some girls walking around asking you for something and the consequence to saying yes is diseases lol then use potion of cure disease and go at it again!
  3. I was hoping they fixed that display case bug it is really annoying. Also ebony blade falling off weapon racks and keening and and... do they ever fix these kinds of bugs?
  4. I recently discovered what to do about this when trying to get two of my mods to work together correctly. There is no need to select skyrim and update, just open apachii skyhair along with whatever other esp you want to merge with your companion mod and make the most extensive esp the master file. The reason for this is because you will have to copy ALL ITEMS that are not default just rename them with a 1 or something in the name before the last bits of the name like leatherbootsAA just rename it leatherboots1AA for example. Doing all of this can be a real time waster but you have no choice except by some miracle you can get the version control to work in creation kit. Search creation kit version control on google and you will find the link to creationkit site that talks about how to get it to work. After reading that you will be more willing to just rename everything non default like I said lol. Once you make copies of everything that is not default then you save the esp as the active file was named so whatever was the most extensive mod in your list would be using that new esp but remember to put all resrouces of those other mods minus their esps into your game because that new esp you saved will call on all those resources now all by itself no more need for the other esps in your data files list. I want to make a private mod with cbbe, better males, apachii skyhair BUT make the cbbe changes ONLY for young females not old ladies and better males ONLY for young males not old dudes like tolfdir or esbern lol. Some npc will get apachii skyhair most not it just depends but I know I will have to make separate folders for the body meshes so the default main body files are not overwritten. It will take a long time unless someone has already made a mod for it here somewhere.

  6. I want to play through skyrim a second time but not without upgrading a significant portion of the game first. I really can't stand the default male body it looks dirty and full of cancerous moles and poorly modeled feet. I have found various mods like Iwash and nudemale but I can see the seams in Iwash on the hands neck and feet. Also nudemale doesn't have a underwear on version? I also found that underwear replacer mod that used a mesh from another mod for cm punk male? The underwear mesh and body don't replace feet. I could have sworn I saw a feet mod in progress somewhere around here or was it completed? Maybe about a month ago but can't find it here now. Anyone seen anything good for feet hands head replacement together? Oh sure females replaced a million times over and all you really have to know is cbbe or unp whatever. I picked cbbe personally and I plan to make my own private esp file for it to replace younger females in the game like followers and marriage candidates etc. so there is not a bunch of old ladies running around looking like cbbe YUUUKKKK!!!! Also it seems that nobody wants to make a simple male hair mod, nothing fancy or emo or uh, eccentric just normal mail hair styles even just mod the default male hair that has the short hair but that dam ponytail and just chop off that ponytail would be great. So far I can't find anything better than apachii skyhair mod but it just had an update with additional hairstyles not in the 1.4 update so gonna give that a try. I found that lightroom/voidroom mod and now it is fun to test stuff with those rooms and not load a save game for testing. Ever since I found that room mod I am super specific on stuff lol it makes everything look totally exposed no flaw left unshown.
  7. A big fight with the thalmor would be a DLC that would come late in the release schedule I would think. It would probably be one of the last DLC released for the game because it would be a big thing to do in the game. Probably there would be a new high kind elected by then to lead skyrim against the thalmor... or help the thalmor completely take over skyrim. That is how the DLC goes they give you a choice one way or the other just like dawnguard. But before that we will probably see a few more minor DLC like hearthfire. Maybe there will be a DLC to do something with winterhold that ties in with the college there. Maybe it would end with everything in winterhold being restored to exactly the way it was supposed to be before the disaster happened? At some point though it would be necessary to make a DLC that allows you to build an army so you can use the war for/against thalmor DLC later on.

Ok I merged the two making thanes reward the active file so anyone wanting to use both support gear and thanes reward will have to use the esp from thanes reward along with resources and the resources from support gear but leave that mod esp out. It didn't take too long to merge them since support gear mod only has a few things in it to merge with the larger mod thanes reward. I can't believe that beth hasn't simply made it to where all a user would have to do is open both esp together with one or the other as active and then save both of them as the active mod, no more need to duplicate and reconfigure each and every single added item manually. Hope they do that with the next CK update whenever that is:-(
  9. I made three mods and hosted them here on the nexus, thanes reward, support gear and ebony armor and plate armor mail. I recently did a reload of my pc to start all over with skyrim again and update some things on my pc too. So I started using the test hall in skyrim instead of save games and noticed that support gear and thanes reward don't get along. One will always show instead of the other no matter what the load order is. Now either one works just fine with the ebony mod and so do other mods I downloaded from here. The only thing I can think of is that both thanes reward and support gear alter clothing and add new clothing items. I made a new esp file for thanes reward and didn't put in all the changes, things that I thought I needed when only testing with a save game like the apprentice boots for the mages at the college of winterhold by default always clip through their outfits so I replaced them with the lighter colored archmage boots for apprentice outfits and the darker archmage boots for the master outfits etc. But in my original save game the changes would not show up in those outfits unless I replaced the mesh files. So this time I didn't do that I am leaving it up to the outfit changes under outfits section. The reason why I am doing this is because I noticed that when I tried to edit the yarl outfits to replace their clipping boots as well, they would be naked except for the replacement boots lol. So I don't want a repeat of that with naked mages too so I left the yarl outfits alone and didn't mess with their boot meshes this time. Anyway, this is driving me crazy trying to sort it out, so I thought about making a new esp for support gear that has all the stuff from thanes reward in it. I loaded CK and selected both esp of support gear and thanes reward, then set support gear as active file. I noticed that the list settings for things from thanes reward were missing like all the yarl clothes could be bought at radient rainments but in this case those settings were gone. So I manually put in those settings for everything from thanes reward in those lists and saved the file support gear.esp. Well I tried loading that file by itself in CK and noticed that the changes were not there and the items from thanes reward were not even in the esp! I tried making both esp active in CK, only one or the other active in CK, it doesn't work this way. I don't understand why the two mods are conflicting like this except there is some problems with stuff going to the all clothing category and qaclothesjewelry container etc. One user reported that thanes reward didn't do any of the scripted events it was supposed to do. I am not sure if they installed the scripts properly or not or if they overwrote them with scripts from another mod. This time I want to put thanes reward resources into a single .bsa file and I tried that and it works in game but I have no way of testing the scripts in game that way without playing all the way through to be thane of a hold? I noticed that the CK won't read resources from my custom .bsa file for thanes reward so I have to work with loose files until I am ready to use the mod and then convert to .bsa? The mod called guard dialogue overhaul is packed as a .bsa and it works just fine for many people and that mod is all scripting so a properly packed .bsa file should allow the game to read scripts from it. The only solution I have found to sort these two mods out is to make a new esp for thanes reward with both support gear and thanes reward esp loaded in CK and copy/paste the items from support gear to thanes reward and save that esp as a separate esp for people wanting to use both mods together?
  10. I was looking for a place to vent about this firmware!!!!! I have a crucial m4 128gb drive and I was still using the old 0009 firmware so I HAD to upgrade it to avoid the 5200 hours limit bug. My hours were approaching that limit and I didn't want to get too close to it and risk losing data or the whole drive. So I updated to that 010g firmware... BIG MISTAKE! Computer ran fine for about a day then BSOD and would not boot from that drive anymore. So I used another computer and read some forums here and there found out it was the crap firmware and the crucial forums are full of horror stories just in time for halloween lol about the same problem. There is a firmware fix posted there which basically says go back to firmware 000F which I had never used before. Read some horror stories about that one too but my drive works now after using that 000F firmware. Of course there was data corruption after getting it to work again. I had to reload win7 and drivers etc. I had just did a fresh reload the day before the crash anyway so I didn't have anything important on there but man if I had lost data I would be pissed:-( Crucial basically tried to get more performance out of the drive by messing around with power management programming and turning some of it off to get better performance. But the drives don't like that and crash probably because of those changes, we won't know for sure until the next firmware update. I have 12gb of ram running triple channel on X58 chipset, so I changed my page file to just 2048mb for both min and max but left it on the crucial drive which is my c:\ drive. I have a samsung ssd 256gb I use for installing all games and apps so they don't clutter up the crucial drive. I want win7 to run as fast as possible and if you fill up an ssd drive past something like 50% it will slow down. In fact the less free space there is the slower the drive will be or so I have read from many places.

The bard should be a just graduated bard that needs a place to start barding, so they work for little money at first in the player home and then move on later unless you want them to stay there and pay them normal bard pay whatever that would be. Just buying a bard kind of ruins the immersion a bit. Maybe tie it in to the bards questline so if the player did all the quests they could petition a bard from the college to bard at their house?
  12. I still have not tried npcguard er... I mean dawnguard yet and now hearthfire comes out and haven't tried that yet either. So from what I am reading here you can now build homes in the minor holds or at least some of them. But why falkreath? That is a creepy place there is nothing but corruption and graveyards there. Ohhhhhhh.... ok so later you get to buy another DLC that allows you to find out why falkreath is so gloomy all the time blah blah:-( They are just setting this stuff up for money. I think that instead of just adopting children you should be able to let non housecarl followers live at and or guard your house too. Like that guy in morthal that keeps applying for the guard position but never gets it or that young stupid bored guy erik at rorikstead that just can't wait to get out of that town. There are a bunch of npc in the game that could live at the player houses for one reason or another to add some useful reason for owning so many houses. The player moves on up to the east side lol eventually aka windhelm or goes to solitude and maybe sets up some less fortunate npcs in their old homes from when they were just starting out? Also at some point, the dragons need to leave the minor holds alone if the player owns a house there but only if the player has completed the main quest and showed the dragons who is boss. They really need to fix the housecarls so they do things like clean the house, sleep at expected hours etc. Also it should be that if the player gives a housecarl money they will go out and buy food and ingredients when the player has used some of that stuff up and or if the housecarl has eaten all their food and some of the food in the house. The housecarl should go to the blacksmith to get ingots and leather strips etc if the house came with those things and the player used up some of them too. This kind of stuff could also be dumped on an apprentice if the player has hired one or took one on because of some quest related dialogue where a follower became an apprentice. Yeah, an apprentice:-) Much more useful that a kid and you can train them for whatever they are apprenticed for. Magic, combat, alchemy, whatever. While they are apprenticing with the player they live at a designated player house and if they make whatever they are apprenticing in like alchemy would motivate them to make potions and gather ingredients. Combat would motivate them to buy/make weapons and armor arrows etc. Those kids would either have to simply be charity cases which is not very useful or they grow up after an extended amount of play time and become someone useful like merchant, warrior, alchemist, blacksmith etc. So the trophy house with kids can be replaced by the ideas above if anyone can make it happen. Hearthfire has provided the framework for some of this stuff to be possible. This way it is not a total waste of time to have hearthfire DLC?
  13. Ok I couldn't find this anywhere and the only mod I found for it was a fix that claimed not to fix everything. So I have to ask, how to fix the HD texture pack DLC so that it runs correctly? I remember there was a fix that simly renamed all the things that needed renaming and that was it. But I don't think it is the mod I found around here? Also I remember something about a fix that would extract one of the game files, fix the files then recompress it again? Because of all this confusion I just don't load the HD DLC packs and just extract what I want from them when I want it which is a waste of hdd space. I want to just use them correctly after finding the correct fix that fixes every single thing wrong about those packs. Can someone post that kind of fix here please? Thanks:-)
  14. Ok I found out where I was getting messed up. There is elven gilded armor which looks just like elven armor, and THEN there is elven light armor! The light armor is what looks different but the gilded and regular look the same. That is so dumb, they made that thalmor special for females but didn't make it for males and that could have been the regular armor so the light would look different. The light gloves, boots, and helmet look EXACTLY the same only difference is stats. That sucks there should be a physical difference for it to be lighter weight. So now I have a reason for modding elven gear now lol.
  15. I am considering the next step of modding myself which is modelling and I have heard that the better way to texture stuff for skyrim is to run the model through mubox software. That software lets you make the normal maps have that extra shade like the default textures have and not just lines and bumps like the photoshop filter does. Also it should be faster to use mudbox because you can literally paint the textures on the model where you want them instead of following the uvmap in photoshop so you don't spend time in photoshop anymore unless you want fancy filter effects for details.
  16. I have been looking at mods for ebony and elf swords here for a few days now and have run into some problems. Ebony sword mods are too much like samurai swords or blades swords. Some of them have odd problems with the scabbards and others have awful looking hilts. The elven sword mods also look like blades swords but there is lore art going around the net showing elves with similar to blade looking swords but they are not quite the same. I keep thinking about that part of the lore mentioned in skyrim where the aldmeri showed up at the front door of, the empire? with a wheel barrel full of chopped off heads from blades members lol. So I am guessing that the elves made a sword that worked just a little better than the traditional samurai looking sword. So their swords could look more like that lore art going around where the handle is flared near the beginning of the blade and the blade is more oddly shaped than a samurai sword and the blade is kind of roundish on the top not just a flat metal blade or even slightly wedge but kinda round like the default ebony blade just not so fat/thick? I am thinking the elves had an influence on how ebony swords would look so the ebony swords could look similar to elf swords but more decorative. The default ebony swords are super fat and look so crappy lol they need to be replaced so bad. :wallbash: I found one mod that made some ebony samurai looking swords but the scabbards look bent at the bottom and the hilt on the two hand looks kinda messed up.:-( Really if someone could take the default ebony sword, slim it a bit so it is not so fat and but a more samurai looking blade on it yet keep that rounded top but of course razor sharp edge that would be great for ebony.
  17. I was looking at the default files in ck, had skyrim and update checked and then just browsed the elven armor settings and noticed a lot of stuff out of order. The mod I was looking at on this site and also I downloaded it but the files were never extracted to the game directories only to a folder on another drive where I always save first before doing anything else. I never just load a mod straight into the game directories, I always check it first. I think I need to verify files maybe that will do it but my pc has crashed with ck open several times before now. Thanks to bad storms and power brown outs due to summer time AC usage around here it causes a lot of problems. Maybe those files were corrupted so I will have to check.
  18. I don't have any elven mods installed yet. I was just considering aMidianBorn Elven Armor today have not even installed it yet and while looking at his mod I was looking in ck and noticed the mixup. Actually his mod doesn't even have an esp file it is just straight up texture replacements. So I might just make an esp file for his mod and always load it at top of load order just so this doesn't happen again but I am worried that my mods will still cause problems so I will have to fix each of those too but that might cause confilicts with other mods? Did beth change anything between old v1.5 and current for elven armor settings?
  19. Ok so I was looking through creation kit today for elven armor references because I noticed something odd with elven armor. The cuirass for regular and gilded are the same in my game and there is another version of female cuirass something to do with thalmor female guards but can't find the reference to that armor in ck? So I noticed that some mods I made have different settings in elven armor settings from the default game and even the default game has it wrong. The gilded armor has the pauldrons and the regular doesn't right? Also the slightly different yet better detailed female cuirass cannot be worn by the player? I know I saw a mod for that to be wearable by the player somewhere around here. Just bugs me that there is no male version with the slightly better modeled details. But how did the elven stuff get mixed up in my mods that I made when I never changed those settings? Also why is it wrong in the default game?
  20. I really can't stand the civil war part of the story. I would rather chop off thalmor heads all day lol. There should be a war between the nords and the thalmor, a really big war that lasts a long time and starts with a meeting at hrothgar but the imperials and ulfric agree to fight the thalmor and in return for that cooperation from the empire, the nords have to hold the line against the thalmor while the empire rebuilds their forces talkin bout several years not just months or weeks kind of hold the line. So all through the later part of the game you could just go kill thalmor and not be attacked for it by city guards.
  21. I have noticed that if I continue to eat the food in a house I just bought that eventually it is all gone and never regenerates. I am thinking that if I leave my housecarl at home and give them some money they will go out to market and get more food for my house? I think getting married takes care of this but what if I don't want to do that and just let the housecarl go to the grocery store lol I haven't tried this yet just thought of it now.
  22. Fighting hand to hand is hard in this game and clunky too. The spears thing I think people have been asking for that since morrowind? oblivion? it seems like it would be incredibly simple and why wouldn't beth make spears but I guess they thought spears would make it too easy to kill an enemy since you could just jab them to death from four or five feet away. I would love to see a stabbing move with one handed swords and two handed swords too.

I have been thinking about this too, say someone makes an armor probably blades armor more closely related to japanese samurai armor and puts one of those flag poles on the back with a player specific flag and custom logo that only shows for the player and player followers? How would they get that to work without some way to separate things.
  24. Did anyone ever make a remodeled glass armor and shield set for skyrim? I was thinking of modding glass armor and stuff soon because it is so ugly and crude looking but after looking at it closely in nifskope, the meshes are just plain ugly. There is no way I could fix that lol. The mesh would have to be replaced. Some people might say just use another armor mesh from the game but, glass armor is altmer made and elven armor/other armors are made by other people/elves it wouldn't look right. I am still trying google and other search resources but so far just the same old ugly mesh. I don't have 3d modelling software and knowledge only texture modding capability so I can't do this on my own. I know that the default glass armor looks close to lore but it really is ugly! Looks like a crude carved statue that was never finished. The only other stuff I have found is cbbe and that is not what I am looking for although maybe later at some point hehe:-) Seriously though this is annoying because all I do with that armor is sell it I never use it not even on my followers. Realistically, someone might be able to slightly remodel elf armor specifically the breast plate of the cuirass, the gauntlets boots and helmet to have that portion of stuff portruding slightly for glass texture. Maybe change the elf shield just a little too, thing is the elves and altmer are related so it would make some sense that their armors were somewhat similar but I just don't get why altmer armor is so ugly. What is the deal with altmer anyway are they a dumb version of elf or something? Why make them look like that with crude looking armor? Thanks to anyone that can help with any info/remodelling/research thanks.
