Wait for better chips for the USB 3.0 controller because those things can't sustain their advertised transfer rates from start to finish. There was an article on tomshardware about that and how backwards compatibility was messing up USB 3.0 and you could hack a driver for asus mobos to only use USB 3.0 and no compatibility and it would go faster but it still wasn't what it should be. You can go with your idea and it will work but you will see bottlenecks because of it.
Thunderbolt tech is coming to pc so we will see drives for that and probably external video cards for laptops so maybe at some point SLI will be two cards in an external box plugged into thunderbolt port and inside that box will be the SLI bridge connecter and small power supply just enough to run the cards. No more high priced 1000watt psu no more giant pc case! Leave that cardsinabox at home and take your ultrabook anywhere then come home and plug into a docking station and game all you want without overheating the ultrabook/laptop. I think at some point in time it will be that way to simplify things and get more people buying high end components that don't have to know how to install them. It is either that or we lose desktop gaming to crap companies like onlive where you stream everything through a cell phone or an ipad EEEWWWW!

YEESSSSSSS!
I tried to go all assasins creed in my first playthrough around lvl 30 or so with dual daggers and power attacks! But that got smacked down by that brawler guy in the ratways of riften with the unarmed attack bonus gloves. He kill moved me the first tme made my assasin look dumb lol so I came back in dragon bone armor and kicked his arse! Finished him off with a body slam! But after that I wasted time double enchanting all my gloves with unarmed attack bonus lol. Doing the stealth perks all the way up and getting into the dark brotherhood is the only way to have fun with an assasin character so it is kinda limiting. If only there was a dagger that was half as long as a sword and not so short as default dagger then it would be better combat.

So far the thing that is really boring for me right now is dwenmer ruins. They are huge especially that one ruin with the researcher guy that lived there. Really boring traveling through all those ruins on every playthrough. No matter what you will always have to travel those ruins and put up with the falmer every single time. Just glad the falmer can't talk cuz the first thing they would probably say is "space marine space marine!" in a really bad accent lol played too much of that game when it came out and they just look so similar.

Two of the most annoying things in the game, vampires and LOUD BEARS! get together and have a kid and he just can't stay outta trouble... derp de derp derp derp Rob Schneider stars as *censored*y the werebear in derp derp derp de derp!
Why is it that many game companies when doing DLC (because they could have just put it in the game) decide to do the dumbest things they can do? Even worse are publicly held game companies and somehow they don't fear the shareholders enough to even do decent DLC and they never learn from their past choices. Almost like marketing depts are made up entirely of rooms full of monkeys and typewriters er uh computers lol. Throw them together in a room and eventually something comes out just not anything good.
Then the fans you know, paying customers make their own mods aka free DLC and it is much better than the official stuff. I am sure that the modder interest in a game is some kind of metric that major game companies list when talking to their shareholders/investors.

Oh yes, such a thing might lead to clean by default clothes that get dirty over time and can be cleaned by the clothes iron default game item. Why would beth put a clothes iron in the game except maybe they are leaving an option available to them as future DLC? Extensions to spouse activity or something like that. Clothes should get dirty over time, be possible to clean and restore to original condition. Armor should be crap looking by default and get better looking with tempering, weapons too. The only problem with armor and weapons changing appearance is the repair system might come back too because it kinda makes sense that weapons and armor need to be repaired after a battle particularly weapons like swords.
I am still learning and want to do a mod of someone else mod as part of a new mod kind of a helper mod that helps the player with things and I want to do an ebony mod lol who doesn't? There are not enough options and details in ebony which is strange because ebony armor and weapons are very very detailed looking. If I knew how to do 3d modelling for this game and had the time I would redo the glass armor first. There was a mod that fixed rigging for meshes like ebony and clothes on this site the author has not commented in a long time now but his files still work as a resource. Actually I am still running some mods made with 1.5 that haven't been updated yet and they still work but they lose load order to mods made with 1.6 and 1.7 though.
The only problem with making a mod that changes the appearance of all default weapons and armor and clothes is the amount of work needed to make it happen.

YEAH! Finally finished my mod and got it uploaded and added some images for it too. The mod is called thanes reward and it is a hefty 178mb! Using 2k textures will make the file size big I guess.

Actually asrock split off from asus and they are now a separate company. Never did like them because they were too busy putting obsolete ports on every motherboard they made like floppy and ide ports that nobody needs anymore.
I will see if I can find that youtube video it was really informative.

Cool thanks for that.

What about the addon section?
-
But you know what I'm talkin bout right? Lol those guys are creepy and they have creepy expressions on their faces!
-
You must have forgot your 1st person models? World models are what make them look right when dropped so you must have just made the world models only and forgot about the others.
-
Can you post a link to that please? I wanna collect all the major fix mods and use those regularly. They should be stickied somewhere for everyone to find easily because I bet the only way we will ever see a fix for stuff like that is when a modder does it not the company.

I built a sandybridge system earlier this year for someone and it ran just fine was very fast. The 3xxx series processors have that cheap rubber stuff under the TIM to hold it down instead of soldering so it causes some problems with cooling because the TIM doesn't sit completely flat over the cores and one of them will get hotter than the others. Found a video on youtube for it the other day forgot to bookmark it but this guy popped the TIM off his 3xxx processor and cleaned off the rubber mess then used something else in place of it to keep it flat and secure. After that he posted cooling results to show it was working right compared to the beginning of his video where one of the cores was 99c!
Sandy bridge processors don't have the cheap TIM they use soldering so you never have to do this with sandybridge. You get a new 3xxx chip and you run the risk of getting uneven TIM and hot temps/bad cpu eventually. Don't even think about overclocking because the results are terrible and temps are horrible to manage if you get a bad chip but sandy again doesn't have this problem. From what I read socket 2011 is only slightly faster anyway and the memory difference will only be felt if you do huge amounts of 3d rendering or some other activity that will eat up 32gb or more of ram? Maybe photoshop but if you overclock it crashes photoshop anyway lol.
Get a gigabyte board stay away from asus for the rest of this year. I think they have some bad batches of stuff for a while now. Other forums out there are full of people complaining about asus boards and bad rma experiences with them. I used to have an asus board and the main benefit I noticed is they boot faster than gigabyte boards by a few seconds for the POST stuff not talking about booting windows just the POST stuff before windows loads. I have been running an X58A-OC gigabyte board for a year now with no problems. Running at 4ghz on a core i7 960 and 12gb of ram at 1600mhz thought I might slow down the memory to stop photoshop from crashing so much since X58 suffers from memory speed issues when overclocking.

Just learned something, I backed up the source folder and then went into my mod with ck and added the items under the scripts tab and the default script I wanted to alter. Then I went to the quest stages tab and altered the appropriate area in the stage I wanted to alter. This is a thane quest alteration for solitude so I am dropping in stuff that I added in the scripts tab because if I don't add stuff in the scripts tab it can't be called in the quest stages tab which I only learned because I tried to only alter the quest stages tab at first. Anyway if I save my alterations of quest stages tab the ck will compile the script and gives no errors (because I did it right YAAAAAAAAY) so then I save my mod and close ck. When I go to the source folder I notice that the file is now slightly bigger so I copy it to another place then replace it with the backup file from my source backup. Load ck again and notice that while my properties are there under the scripts tab, the quest stages alterations are not there so they are saved in that file! So no matter what I have to give that file with my mod and presumably the .pex file too in the scripts folder.
All of this is very confusing because from what I have read so far from these forums and google searches, the psc files are made by the modder but I never made the original versions of those files so where did they come from? Did the ck generate them when opened for the very first time by me or did the game generate them during installation? So what should I do then, duplicate the script file in windows then change the name slightly at the end and then try to get ck to use that file instead of the original for that quest? Won't that mess up anything else in the game that might call on that quest script? Dam if it does I would have to find all uses and alter them for each script I rename ugh:-(

Nobody said anything about the creation kit altering the source script PERMANENTLY!!!!??????
I was messing around with one of the thane quests in the ck and I clicked on the scripts tab then select the script that has the same name as the quest then properties. When I add a new thing to that script and click ok it is added forever! Noticed there was a pex file in the scripts folder but the actual script file is psc guess that stands for papyrus script compiled. So I read around here somewhere the misc.bsa file contains the original script files, I went to extract them with BSA extractor tool and noticed they are .pex not .psc so is this a problem of using the wrong tool to extract them or do they all get compiled during installation? That would suck if I have to uninstall/reinstall the game just to get one little script file working again. Why would the ck do something so volatile like that anyway?
I noticed that the ck adds a same named file only .pex of the script altered in the scripts folder so I deleted it thinking it would just go read the default again in source folder not knowing that the source file was altered too. What I am thinking is that maybe there is a tool that can be used to delete the added items from the original script file? Also maybe I need a different tool for extracting the file from the misc.bsa file to get it out properly as .psc?
EDIT
Ok if I go to the scripts tab again and select that script and then right click it I get the option to edit source then I was able to delete the items I added they were at the very bottom so I just deleted them and selected save then the file compiled correctly with no errors but it is still 5kb in size I never checked to see what the old size was so who knows:-( There is a pex file of the same name in my scripts folder now though and it is only 4kb in size so I don't know if the default should be the same.
This SUCKS! What if I edit other scripts do I need to backup my entire source directory BEFORE editing any default scripts? The pex files they are the files used in my mod then? That is what goes along with my mod when I finally finish it so others can use it properly?
I am definitely backup that dam directory after this mess, also I am gonna restore the backup after modding to see if that makes any difference when working with ck. Wish I had backed up my source folder before now though:-(

For the last month I have been making my first mod, it is mostly texture modding and changing the looks of certain things but at first I had a difficult time with it because working with textures is hard to do but if I had that texture template tool then it might have been easier! As long as the template is exactly the same as the default templates from the game for any file loaded into nifskope then this method would be a great help to anyone doing texture mods. Some armor textures like ebony (no my mod is not for ebony) are extremely dark and hard to work with for first time modders but this method would fix that kind of problem thanks for posting it.

First time making a mod I check skyrim and update then go into ck. After saving one time I just check my saved esp file I made and select it as active file and then go into ck. I would think that if I want to use another mod as part of my mod that I already had installed I would have to check it along with skyrim and update before starting the new mod in the beginning? adding another mod into a mod later on might mess things up but then merging mods would be done like that? But I don't think you have to make other mods master files just have them checked right?

I was just thinking of something, what if some people remade oblivion and other good TES games with skyrim engine and ck? Don't use the original resources but instead make their own based on those original resources? At some point in time it will probably be attempted maybe if TESonline sucks or flops because there won't be a sp game after skyrim probably until what, 2014? Beth is busy making TESonline right now so anything sp after skyrim has to be on the back burner at this point. We will probably see some more DLC and that would be it. They would want us to play TESonline after that for a long time so they wouldn't make anything new sp or DLC for one year or more? How much time passed between one TES game and the next anyway? I would try to play the older games and have tried oblivion, made it about 30% 40% of the way through oblivion before I couldn't stand it anymore it was just so boring. The combat was boring, the vampire thing was annoying and I missed a whole quest because I console fixed my way out of vampirism. That one guy that lived in the vampire town he was so annoying had me following people all day to see if they were spying on him he was a nut and I can't stand him! Please if you or anyone else remakes oblivion with ck in skyrim just leave that guy out lol he was terrible but his house was kinda interesting.

The video tutorials I have seen are based on searching for something and then finding a video from the search results thinking it has something to do with my search but when I get to the video it has nothing to do with my search at all. Also for some reason many video makers have horrible accents I can barely understand them and really can't stand listening to their voices! The creation kit wiki is kind of vague and confusing it needs to be remade with modders in mind because that is what the creation kit is for, modders so they need to fix it to be more clear and concise. They tend to jump ahead a lot and go straight to making rooms and dungeons and houses without explaining how to do some basic stuff and why the ck does certain things like mess up custom outfits with npc and why do armors get cloned when you just add a duplicate or altered version of something say shoes or gloves or cuirass, save and then come back and under armor you expand it and there is two versions of the item you altered one with the correct naming like for example FineClothes01 and a clone like fineclothes01. Why would it need to clone that whole item when you only duplicated the gloves and named them something different or changed the model files to be different models? Both items have the exact same info in them too so what is the point of that? But you won't find that discussed at the ck wiki and from what I can tell anywhere else either.
It would be a great help around here to see step by step how to make a new or altered weapon, armor, clothing, jewelry, npc, item, and explain why this why that etc.for each involved part of the ck.
Also quest altering tutorials with detailed explanations but I think most people don't know enough to do this simply because the ck is so complicated and the game is so buggy. Maybe the basics could be done but the complicated stuff like quest and routines with solutions for bugs and what causes them would be very difficult. Probably beth don't want to spend time explaining that stuff. We get too much info we could make our own games and ignore TESonline next year lol.

Really?
Maybe you own some shares of a game company huh?

Every game is made now with DLC in mind so they leave out entire sections of the game and release them later as DLC to make extra money. The way they have production of games setup now it really does look like they make the DLC later but they should have just made all of it part of the game to begin with but this would make release dates and development cycles longer which of course publishers don't like. This is why kickstarter is becoming so popular because whoever funds it doesn't have to care about publisher greed they only have to care about what they are funding and their motivation for funding is to play the game not make money on it.
Any game made in 2004 or older has no DLC that I can remember atm only expansions or addons so you got the whole game but these days it is all about the money and the shareholders:-(

Wow the trailer was a lot longer than what I remember seeing on the tv commercial (tv sucks) and that liberal spam ad at the very end of the video ugh...
The music was not there on the tv commercial it was different must have been added in by someone else. He is most likely wearing steel armor but it looked like a dark grey tshirt? Also that metal stuff on his chest looks like hide armor bits. So they mixed up the armor on the actor simply because well who knows? Maybe the torso armor was not available or they just were just in a hurry or the tshirt was to get the attention of the average gamer who wears tshirts a lot. Also that is clearly a steel sword he was using.
-
The rest of the game lol:-)
Seriously though a lot of bug fixes first before any more content. I really hate having to use the console just to play through the game even at default with no mods and everything updated to the latest version. I don't even have dawnguard yet and I think that is a good thing according to all the bug complaints around here.

I have always wondered how far TES universe would go? What would the future be like for that planet? Giant skyscrapers built with science and magic blended together? Swords and axes would be no more but probably replaced by magic and something that looks like star wars stuff. Yeah it would probably closely resemble star wars but the force replaced by magic and the bad guys replaced by daedra.
I think it is possible to make a whole new game using the creation kit but I have noticed that some details of the creation kit don't work like some tabs bring up an error message here and there. Also this game is buggy and so is the ck so getting anything to work at all would be very difficult. I can't get balgruuf to wear pleated shoes AND his default outfit he is either naked with new shoes or clothed with old shoes and it has to be something buggy that won't ever be fixed. There are loads of other problems like that in the game that nobody seems to be able to fix right now and no response from beth about it either.
If you make a whole new game you will have to go whole hog with it! Replace everything don't use any of the original resources, sounds voices models anything everything totally replaced by another game. Would be great to have a totally different game but it would take away so much of your life it would not be worth it you need a team of people to handle the work load that is for sure and they all have to be experts at modding the game.

My installed mods...your thoughts?

I wanna try cbbe but not all the default clothes and armor work for it yet and he hasn't chimed in for a while now.
Got the 2kHD mod from that guy it works great no problems running it.
Haven't tried a lot of the other stuff because the big mods change a lot of stuff in the game and cause conflicts with other mods so time has to be spent in wyre bash or something similar and it takes forever to fix all that stuff up just right.
There are some things that everybody wants change and then everything else is dependant on the player personal style and characters.
