  1. This is an odd one. I've cleaned Skyrim and it's various DLC many times before and whenever I tire of Skyrim I uninstall, so when I want to play again, I can simply reinstall and not worry about left over edits breaking my game. Now I have this issue while cleaning the DLCs that is entirely new and I have no idea how I got it, and redownloading so far does not work. To say it plainly: I followed the instructions creationkit.com/TES5Edit_Cleaning_Guide_-_TES5Edit (www . removed to be safe). I cleaned Update.esm I cleaned Dawnguard.esm I cleaned hearthfires.esm I get these errors when I apply filter for cleaning Dragonborn: I have made sure I have followed the instructions every time. Replacing the Skyrim.esm fixes the errors but LOOT then claims none of the DLC files have been cleaned. I have an attached file image that might be too large for nexus to take, as such I have a gyazo link I can share, but as it's been a while since I have read the rules, I do not recall if posting outside links is bad. The image merely shows T5edit and the errors above.
  2. This be serious, on a scale of 10, it's 034539589933. In all seriousness, I'm at a loss and apparently so is the internet, here's the problem: A few months back I had stopped playing Oblivion due to having burnt myself out on it. Before completely leaving it be, I had cleared out all the mods I had installed. Yay backing up the entire data folder before touching anything! Today I decided I wanted to give it another go as I had yet to actually beat the main-quest. I figure it's high time I do so, so I pop in and try running regular Oblivion before adding obse and the unofficial patch. This is where the problem comes into play. The launcher comes up with everything grayed out except the exit button and the elderscrolls.com button. Okay, maybe I just need to update it. I find the official update and try to run that. It tells me I have some registry/ini error. Not sure what that is. I checked in documents/mygames/Oblivion. I have the ini file I need there. Okay. I haven't screwed with the install location at all since I last played. Validating files on steam gives me a 100% validation. Nothing wrong. I tried running obse just to be sure and it gives me the standard 'run from steam/enable steam community' message. All the files are here, yet everything is acting like the game is not here. Help please? As a last thought: My system is capable of running Oblivion just fine, I've checked on the website Canyourunit, as well as looked into it myself and playing the game on this very machine multiple times.
  3. Hi there. I've posted once or twice on here, a while back it was for help with my load order and what all I should add/remove.I have since completely restarted my mod list and have managed to narrow things down quite a bit to resolve most of my previous conflicts. All in all, I've been having fun on Skyrim, then the other week I discovered merging. After watching the video on TES5edit's page and reading most of the pertinent information, or at least all I could find on the page, I followed the instructions, merging everything into one merge file and began to play. Performance was up, stuttering gone, everything working as intended. Then I began crashing every time I would get near a certain area by the lake between Falkreach and RiverWood. I know that is't too specific, I don't remember the lake's name, just the location and that it's the largest body of water in south western skyrim. Naturally, when I CTD, I returned to a previous save and tested the issue as thoroughly as I could. I found out that it was due to a mod adding a sizable location to the cell (Lakeview Freehold is the mod). Upon returning to the Tes5edit page, I learned of another method of merging. I was rather clear on what I needed to do up until that point. I now have two pages with different videos explaining how to merge my mods in two very different ways, and any additional page I could find to help clarify only confused me further, one telling me to put the merged file near the top and removing masters, another page telling me down near the bottom, having all the mods it merged activated above it. Naturally I'm very confused and I don't know what to do. Do I use one method or the other? do I put the merged file at the top or near the bottom? Do I just load nails into the cannon and fire into the nearest carpenter and hope he builds me a house? What do?
  4. Hello there Nexus! I come here seeking your help. My issue is that the game generally runs fine, I'm pretty sure that if I could get straight into game rather than to the title screen, I wouldn't have any problems. That said, the Title screen is bugged, Observe the linked image for how bugged it is: http://i43.tinypic.com/t0j506.png I had to use the launcher to get me into windowed mode as I usually use the skse loader to get into game. I've reinstalled, verified integrity and scoured the internet for fixes, keeping in mind that using existing save files could re-introduce any corrupted file features. I was told that the square characters might be from something changing my language files in the strings folder, which I replaced and I still get the error. At the time the issue cropped up I hadn't introduced any new mods, the problem wasn't detected by any of the installers/organizers that I use (NMM, Wrye Bash, BOSS, TES5Edit). The only thing I can think of to have caused the problem would be the 'Mod Organizer' program I had installed, if asked for, I can provide a link to the nexus page it is on.
  5. Hi there. As the title says I have a handful of mods that I currently like. EDIT: Yeah, kept getting weird 'driver' errors or some such, add an L to 'fee' in the title to get 'feeling'. After using the more well known and larger mods my game essentially destroyed itself. Even removing all of the mods wasn't working it would pass through steam verification just fine. So I did a complete uninstall several months ago and I've only just returned to New Vegas. That said, large mods like Project Vegas, Eve, etc won't be looked at primarily because once you get into them, you need a gazillion and fifteen extra patches for them to work either with each other or with other, smaller mods. Here is the list of mods I have: Gilbert - Companion mod Project Weaponry - adds weapons Better Game Performance V5 - removes a rock and other such useless entities Fellout - I know, its one of the larger mods, it requires no patches to work with other mods though. Flashlight - Can't believe no one else (me included) thought to add an actual hand held flashlight. Light my flare - Flares! Another great idea. Max Followers - Ups the limit to twelve, might change this one for an actual unlimited companion mod. Mohave Delight - Gotta get them type 3s somehow. More Ammo, Grenades and mines in boxes - Seriously, this is a life saver. NCR Rearmament - Give the NCR better armor so they look like an actual army. NCR Rearmed - Adds a couple weapons to the NCR spawn lists. Better Explosions - Well, their bigger and I can cripple myself with a pistol now. :x Willow - Another Companion mod. Stimpack dispenser - It is apparently in good springs. Somewhere. Maybe I'll find it. Maybe. MCM - Its useful UI time. I just discovered why the game felt like it was missing people. I apparently forgot to activate eight NPC mods. Here is the list. Populated Casinos - More people! Populated Wasteland - More people! Legion Centurion Enhancement- No more push-over guys. NCR Battle Rifle - Adds the battle rifle to leveled lists I believe. NCR occupation - more NCR New Vegas Sign Ranger Guard- He protects the New Vegas sign! NPCs upgraded- I forgot exactly what it does other than upgrading npcs... Assault on Camp Mccarran ------------------------------------------- Thats all. I've looked around on Nexus for a few others but I'm not real sure what else could really go with this mix or what I should leave out. Any thoughts and recommendations would be great.
  6. Well, I'm not an expert and I don't have any links to any of the really well known/large mods out there, but I can at least list a few mods for you. Project Nevada Nevada Skys (or skies? I don't recall which it is) EVE Fellout ------------------------------------------ Most of those are giant bug-fix packages with a few texture changes. There are a lot of other mods out there though. Of course, just like Skyrim, you need to hop over and grab yourself the script extender. Anyhow, this should give you a boost on what to look for. I'm sure someone will come around and give you a more detailed and larger list of mods to look through. Right now I'm going to ask around about mods myself. Stay safe!
  7. Well, I'm back. I've given up on skryim since right after my last post, I had everything working just fine. Ran to Whiterun to get the main quest going, bandits were attacking. Figured I'd loot bodies while the bandits fought the guards (all the bandits were aggro'd on them, had no worries). So as I was looting, the fighting was going on. I stop looking a particular body and a bunch of bandits run in front of me....and begin to push me away from the body....I counted about thirty bandits between me and the body (in a huge closed in mass of digital flesh) charging up the hill to deal with those pesky guards.....then I crashed. Thing is, I've looked at all the mods I have that add spawns, none of them should be spawning that many, even putting the totals together, so I'm thinking I broke something somewhere else. Decided to not bother with skyrim for the time being and focus on Total War Rome II for now.
  8. Well, apparently removing some of the graphics solved my immediate CTD, in fact, since then I haven't had any real issues, just a few floating grass bits, but thats due to load order stuffs- apparently even BOSS isn't getting that bit right so I have to play around with the load order (fortunately its just one or two I have to move around, not a whole bunch). Thank you all for the help. Now I have one last question- I have SkyUI as well as map marker mods, specifically- Atlas Map Markers with Dragonborn, Dawnguard and blackreach addons Legwons colored map and compas markers. Is there a specific load order I need to follow since in-game, when I look at the map, Skyui mentions the map.swf or some such is missing/changed- Sorry I can't be more specific right now, but thats the gist of it.
  9. Whu! Thank you for the swift replies, I'll respond to the points as they came to me. Firstly, Thank you lordmonkus for that very helpful guide. I am already putting some of it to good use, and seriously reconsidering my choice in texture replacers. Secondly, Warzones and Claralux have both been removed- usually I pay good attention to when mods have last been updated, but provided who they are from and how good those mods are, I slipped up on that one. Thirdly, I forget exactly what battlefields is other than it is a primarily cosmetic mod, i.e. It adds a few random fields of battle to make skyrim look like its already had a few good fights. Fourthly, just because I feel it has to be said Shadeybladey, do we really need any of these mods? :P In all seriousness, I probably don't, but this also goes back to my not quite being satisfied with anything vanilla in a TES game. It all just seems so bland, like Bethesda spent so much time on the bigger picture, then hastily ran through the smaller details with a too large pen. However, I'll take a closer look at those you're asking if I need and see which ones are really worth keeping. Fifthly, I've had both SIM and the Immersive mods for a very long time- for at least a year and I've had no problems concerning those particular mods in the slightest, of those mentioned, I'll keep them, primarily because, despite appearances, they actually work together rather cohesively and even compliment each other. Sixthly, this touches on the first point, but I've seen the mistake I made in having multiple retexture mods targeted at mostly the same areas, that is something I'll be spending time on when I have a little more attention to spare- when I'm not wasting the night away. :P Seventhly, Why do I get the feeling that I can add 'thly' to just about every number, and not worry about it sounding wrong, regardless of it being an improper use of grammar? All that said, thank you much for the help so far, and I apparently broke skyrim further by adding several more mods (don't hurt meh!) The new mods are Bandolier, Bags and Pouches Alchemy Tweaks Nightmare - increased enemy spawns Lightweight scrolls Bandolier, DawnGuard Weightless Soulgems Ingredient Reweight Advanced Mannequins Firewood, Ingot, Ore weight reduction Thats all I'll be adding in for tonight, I'm too tired to really bother with it and I figure I should wait on adding more until this is all fixed- especially now that I seem to be CTD whenever I try to start a new game or shortly after loading an old one.
  10. Help! I brokeded my gaem! D: Plain and simple, I enjoy skyrim, but like any TES game, I get really bored with the vanilla experience pretty quickly, that said, I've spend quite a long while on nexusmods just adding mods that compliment how I like to play TES games pretty well, that said, the problem I have is that I likely added too many mods to my little collection, I like them all, and I have no clue which ones might be causing the issues, nor which ones I wouldn't care as much to see removed. The issues are, as anyone would imagine, are CTD, random lagspikes, and generally unpleasant moments of "oh no, don't break now!" Currently I am wokring on a (I wish) short list of mods that I have- most of them either deal in immersion, adding npcs, torches/lights and other such none-sense. IF this is in the wrong place, my apologies, please move this to the appropriate spot for me and I'll try to do better next time. The list- In Alphabetical order, esm then esp. I currently have and run Wrye Smash, BOSS, and NMM to manage load order, and properly making sure it all works before hand, I've even tried using TES5edit, for the most part that is pretty simple but trying to pick which mod to use it on and which one not to gets to be pretty....tedious. Anyhow, I pretty much wrote this up on the fly, if anyone is willing to help me with this, I'd be grateful. I know I haven't been entirely clear on what I need help with, but I'm hoping the huge list makes it pretty self evident- here's the short version: I can get into game just fine, make the character and run around. As soon as I reach the Jarl of Whiterun, everyone inside turns hostile for no reason- not entirely sure which mod is causing that one- and I get random CTD's. Usually it is in the big bad wild, sometimes I'll be chilling in my own little home, other times I'll be in a dungeun. What makes this worse is just about anytime I look at what mod to remove, I tend to get distracted and add more mods. As I said, vanilla TES games just don't cut it for me for some reason. EDIT I forgot to add an important ingrediant- computer specs. Here it is in very vague terms 8 Core Processor, GT 550 Nvidia Graphics Card, 10GB RAM 2TB Harddrive. Directx 9,10,11 compatible, Opengl compatible, you get the idea compatible, Too many pickles in the mainstream! It is very late and I'm tired, don't mind the craziness please. I'll remove what I can of it later.
