  1. i (my husband) found a solution! i was able to use nvac AND stutter remover, with a few tweaks to the stutter's ini, by changing the nvse folder name in the data file to NVSE! i guess he found that these mods were tryiing to call on NVSE so they'd just get caught in some weird loop. i still get periods of unbelievable lag. not sure what's causing this but i'm still working on the ini. another almost major issue was how i was able to test changes i had made. i had to be sure to load the game TWICE every time the ini had new information. the first time would be buggy; either causing a crash or c++ error etc etc. the second time the game loaded i would see the changes in effect. in some cases i even had to restart my computer to see the changes without error. this may not be an issue for everyone as my pc is pretty old. it doesn't like windows 10 or the graphics card hubbo installed (can't update to the latest versions of things like direct x). but yeah, long story short, if all else fails just capitalize the name of the folder (the one where you stuck your nvse plugins) from nvse to NVSE. this should allow your NVAC and NVSR to run smoothly which in turn cures the crashing on exit! don't ask me how it works - i didn't know that ish was case sensitive.
  2. i've been searching far and wide for answers to this, finally i gave up and had to ask for help. i know i won't have a super fix considering i have other modding issues that nothing on the internet can resolve. it's some crash on exit that i swear i've tried everything to resolve. i either have to go searching into my computer as a non-savvy or literally limit my plugins to 10. onto the main issue! my saves go temporarily corrupt. if i reload the game, the save files are back up and can be loaded. if i go indoors, on most occasions i can save. i think the place has to be really small e.g. a motel room in novac, house in goodsprings, community made safehouse. places like the tavern and shop in goodsprings dont work. and this is all regardless of red x's that appear after the game goes corrupt the first time during the playthough. here's a kicker - it does not matter what combination of mods i'm using. i didnt want to try uninstalling all of my mods that effect the open world before seeking advice. im hoping there is a less drastic solution. i'll make a list of things i've tried in case that helps. if nothing but to get rid of the obvious troubleshooting -i've tried a bunch of different load orders by following what modders have put in their instructions, how LOOT orders my plugins, plus handfuls of different combinations -NMM's archive invalidation -fnvedit to create a merge patch -never using a mod that NMM asks to overwrite another -making sure, at least for the obvious ones, that no mod would conflict (choosing ones that have no reports of mod conflicts, not using the same kind of mod, not using mods that recreate or distribute items in the same areas aside from nvinteriors -due to my crash when exiting the game, anti-crashes and stutter removers only cause more problems for me but i do use the most popular 4gig memory mod, nvse, jpe plugin, and yup. could i still just have too many things in my world? i read something about this "bloating" save files, but i cant find my exact problem anywhere on the internet. has anyone else run into this or solved it? the only mods i have that mess with the outside is electro city, goodsprings filler, rusttown and one or two that add a minimal amount of npcs. this doesnt include the mods that add a couple things like the rockwell pursuit (a building, an area to get to the new location). is there a way to keep all of my mods and fix the problem? another kicker - i have zero lag, zero stutter. everything runs great, maybe better than when i played it on the 360. just these damn corrupt saves. if anyone has any advice or stories to share i'd greatly appreciate it. i know without me fixing my initial crash issue nothing will ever work as it's suppose to but i'm praying to baby jesus for a workaround. i've been trying to mod my game for almost 3 weeks now without getting to really play; learning via too many failed attempts to count. but thanks in advance for any reply
  3. ahhh i thought maybe it had something to do with that. complicated things by reinstalling project nevada, uio, one hud, darnified as well a imps AND others over and over. tried a million different combinations, fnvedit, but just couldn't get it right i suppose. i'm not the smartest and i don't know how to speak to computers properly so i reckon i'll just have to split everything i want into multiple playthroughs. you see all this great stuff and you just want it all, ya know? in any case, thanks. i'm not sure if my ui problem is the same as my game exiting failures ( a few deletes later and it still crashes any way i exit the game) but if i sort it out and the information could be useful, i'll post it here so someone else can find it while googling. thanks for the reply
  4. the more mods i load the more it seems my game screws up. now i lose access to my esc, wait, and vats buttons. ill try to sift through all that info, thanks. when i said nvsr i actually meant nvAC which prevents my screen from crashing but also completely freezes it (never letting me out of the game so i have to force quit)
  5. i'm hoping there are still people around to help a brother out! this is my first time playing fnv on the pc, and only my second attempt at playing pc mods. i have NMM, watched the gopher videos in order to learn how to mod the game and how to do it properly in order to run into the least amount of problems. i have a butt-ton of mods and unfortunately my impatience led me to install too many too quick, so i'm not sure at which point the problem began to occur. has anyone else had their game STILL crash even when using the qqq command to quit the game? did you ever find what the problem was? i've looked around and many people use the command as a fix, but i've never seen anyone report that their game still crashes so i'm assuming it cant be any of the normal reasons. NVAC seems to prevent my game from closing. thanks in advance for the response, thanks gopher for all the patient instructions, and thank you to all the modders who did so much work to expand the game. i cant wait to try it all out in a playthrough one more thing - i've also never seen anyone have problems due to overwriting files while installing a mod with nmm. i dont think i;ve overwritten anything important, and i've installed the main mods like gopher instructed - i'm just curious if this has ever caused any huge issues aside from hud project
