  1. From the WIKI: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Take_Up_Arms Find the CompanionsOn your way to Whiterun, you may come across members of the Companions, specifically Aela the Huntress, Ria, and Farkas, battling a giant among the sparse crops outside Pelagia Farm. If you want to participate in this fight, make sure to head straight to the farm once you arrive in the vicinity of Whiterun. If you delay for even a short time, the Companions will have already defeated the giant before you can join the fray, resulting in Aela taunting you for your lack of assistance. If you delay for too long, you may miss the Companions entirely, as they will slowly walk to the main gates of Whiterun and enter the city after the battle. Note that neither of these results has any negative consequences in your dealings with the Companions. If you are present when the giant dies, Aela will actively seek you out and will, depending on the outcome of the battle, either commend or taunt your battle skills. In both cases, however, she will tell you about the Companions and point you towards Kodlak Whitemane in Jorrvaskr. This quest can also be started by speaking with select Whiterun citizens or Jorrvaskr residents, who will suggest you go speak with Kodlak.
  2. a lot of ENB's seem to have performance versions now. This youtube playlist takes a look at a couple including the performance version of Realvision. Its really a matter of taste. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE7DlYarj-De1YrWupbcesibJIRZkMVB8
  3. I see a lot of texture mods there. There is a limit to how many you can run. Once skyrim uses more than 3gb mem, kablooweee! If your videocard only has 2 gigs then even sooner. Anywho theres a way to check in game how much you are using. Gopher explains better than I can: Theres also a completely different problem with how memory is allocated in Skyrim. If your using the latest SKSE version I think it fixes it. Or maybe thats something else... I confused myself.. Sorry. This video will tell ya all about that tho:
  4. Maybe after you have reinstalled everything make a video of your gameplay for us to look at. A certain amount of that is normal. To a point... One fix you will find is to change a setting in your ini file to load more cells. Don't do it !!! Unless you really know what your doing it will cause much more harm that it will help.
  5. Searching real fast found 2 videos on how to fix it. I didn't have time to watch them but if they tell you to change any files, make sure you make a backup up of it before hand. Also found this option: if you are on pc press the tilde key and type in the command tcl to walk through the door, then sprint to bump into him and a dialogue tree will start
  6. It could be alot of things. Number would be running out of Vram. Maybe post your mods and your puters specs for starters. How many texture mods and how much memory does your videocard have?
  7. I think maybe your using the wrong DistantDetail.esp. Searching the nexus I see there are 2 different ones. The second has "HF" and is meant for ppl with Hearthfire installed. Anyone using mods should really learn about load order and mod conflict imo. These 2 videos are great. One teaches you to use LOOT for load order and the other TES5EDIT to check for mod conflicts and errors: Ok first use LOOT to sort your load order. Video here: Then watch this video and use TES5EDIT as he prescribes:
  8. Your videocard overclocked? Some of that looked like artifacting. That usually happens when your o/c too far or when your card is overheating. Make sure the fan is working on it and grab the latest drivers to start.
  9. You downloaded a ton of mods... Theres your problem. Every mod you download ya have to check and research to see if its compatible with all your other mods. Sometimes they will be, sometimes not, sometimes there will be a patch to make them work together. Always install and test one at a time. I'm gonna say start here if you haven't already: Ok first use LOOT to sort your load order. Video here: Then watch this video and use TES5EDIT as he prescribes:
  10. Found this fix in another thread. I know you said you did this to one file but you might wanna try the others he mentions. You have a corrupt Zip file somewhere, in one of these locations: Mod Path: d:\Skyrim\mods Mod Cache Path: d:\Skyrim\mods\cache Mod Download Cache: d:\Skyrim\mods\downloads You could try manually opening them all to try to locate the bad file. Or just delete everything in the cache and download cache folders, and see if that helps.
  11. Watch this video and use TES5EDIT as he prescribes:
  12. Go to Vurt's page for his Floral overhaul: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/141/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D141&pUp=1 In the optional files see if you can find a LOD texture for the version you are using.
  13. I'm gonna say start here if you haven't already: Ok first use LOOT to sort your load order. Video here: Then watch this video and use TES5EDIT as he prescribes:
  14. The mod "Sofia, the fully voiced funny follower" is known to cause CTD at that point. Disable if you're running it.
  15. Ok first use LOOT to sort your load order. Video here: Then watch this video and use TES5EDIT as he prescribes: If that does not work you might wanna try making a bashed leveled list patch. Theres a video on youtube by the same guy on how to do that too I think.
  16. It looks like you are supposed to have the Bethesda Hi Res pack already installed before you watch that video. Its free and you can get it right on steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/202485/
  17. So if you disable the mod you can get in but it looks like that? Or you still can't get in? Ok first use LOOT to sort your load order. Video here: Then watch this video and use TES5EDIT as he prescribes: Also do a google search for CTD entering Whiterun you'll find lots of causes and fixes.
  18. The only thing I remember that effects that is having a new dragon skeleton installed from a mod. Check your data/meshes/actors/dragon folder and see if theres a "skeleton.nif" in there. If there is back it up somewhere and try running the game without it.
  19. I had that problem also. Updating to the latest SKSE cured it.
  20. No you should be able keep playing after uninstalling it.
  21. Ok first use LOOT to sort your load order. Video here: Then watch this video and use TES5EDIT as he prescribes: I'm guessing one of those will find your problem. The type of crash you describe is usually a mod loading and looking for something that isn't there. A couple more ideas in these 2 lnks also if for some reason that doesn't work: http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/540732596563446773/ http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/613939294279340285/
  22. First make sure ya have the latest version of SKSE installed. (mod author suggested this to someone with the same problem) Are you using the NMM to install mods? Then maybe try uninstalling completely then reinstalling making sure you put everything step by step where the author says it should go. Seems to be working for others so odds are ya just installed one file in the wrong place or something.
  23. Updating to the latest SKSE seems to have cured it.
  24. I'm getting the same thing now but I don't have Razor comms installed. Razor Synapse for the gamepad but not the comm program.
