  1. This is just a screen from when I very first made him, years ago (darn you, file size limit!). As you can see, he's always been... well, dramatic.
  2. So, I've discovered a very peculiar thing about my Skyrim character, Syriuus. Namely, he's seemingly sentient. I've had him for a very long time by now, and he's been through countless mods and three different computers. But I've found that, in addition to talking (which isn't a normal thing without mods that add the feature), he makes expressions on his own. He'll raise an eyebrow, smirk, you name it. The only thing I can pin down is that him drawing his weapon makes him glare, sometimes even snarl, despite not being engaged in combat. The second picture is what he looks like when not being expressive (sorry they're so dark; it's the only way I could post comparison pictures that didn't exceed the file size limit). Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm not sure if this should be in bugs, because it's not really a bug. It's happened for years, and only with him.
  3. It certainly doesn't seem to be an isolated issue by now. But it's been going on three weeks with no fix or workaround in sight. Was it SE or original Skyrim?
  4. In response to post #44140035. #44141035, #44163345, #44267135 are all replies on the same post. I've seen more than half a dozen others having the same issue arise upon the release of NMM support for SE, then. What OS and general specs do you have? I have Win10, and I'm using a regular office laptop (seriously, it's terrible). It may be an OS issue.
  5. In response to post #44139855. #44175755, #44180610, #44180700 are all replies on the same post. Castironwolf, what about the entire thing about having mod support for consoles? And the entire above article describing a new portion of the site dedicated to Nexus support for mods on console?
  6. In response to post #44155020. #44175425 is also a reply to the same post. Either you can't download manually, or it's a complex mod that doesn't have instructions or support for manual installation. I don't want to break my Skyrim too.
  7. In response to post #44140035. #44141035 is also a reply to the same post. Thank you very much for the assistance! I'm afraid though that I have tried thoroughly uninstalling prior, as well as pretty much anything else that might be suggested. I've backed everything up, so that's all good. But I've tried safe mode, admin, direct .exe load, even simply pressing "Download with NMM" on files to see if that'll kickstart it. I've seen throughout my searches that four or so other people have very recently encountered a very similar if not identical issue, though none of us have been able to pinpoint a fix, temporary or otherwise.
  8. Does this affect the NMM tool itself, and if so, how? A few days ago, suspiciously close to the time where SE launched, my NMM stopped working. Completely and totally. Click on the icon, run as administrator, run directly from executable, nothing works - I get a half-second-long load icon, no splash screen, and that's it. I've tried to download the newest version (I was a few behind, the version just before the big migration where everything had to be uninstalled then reinstalled by the tool), but the site says, "We're sorry, we're having trouble with the NMM download location. Please download manually. We're sorry for the inconvenience!" Problem is, manual download doesn't seem to be doing anything. I run it, it installs, NMM still doesn't work. About a week later, and I still haven't found a fix despite multiple pleas for help everywhere I can post. And just before NMM jumped off a cliff, I'd accidentally uninstalled a very script intensive mod before disabling it in-game, so now my game is VERY unstable and I've no way of fixing it, and I'm in desperate need of help. In short, is this tool failure due at least in part to the SE launch?
  9. It sounds like there's a missing miscellaneous file that a master mod file relies on. Have you looked in your Data folder to delete any assets from that mod manually? I've never played any of the Fallout series (I know, shame unto me), but most Bethesda games work in more or less the same way.
  10. Hmm. Did you try redownloading it from the Nexus, but the site told you that the automatic download failed and to install it manually? That's what happened to me. Maybe it's a more widespread issue.
  11. I'd like to start off with saying that it was working fine literally less an hour ago. As I was playing Skyrim (the original, as the SE won't run for more than three minutes), my game froze as it tried to load an exterior, specifically the Solitude city exterior. It was unusual in the fact that the audio didn't cease, my music continued to play even after the picture froze until the track ended. I couldn't quit the game via task manager, which isn't unusual for the rare event where it doesn't simply CTD. I'd just uninstalled ELFX and put RLO in its place, which I find unlikely to be the culprit. However, I had also just deactivated Better Vampires without resetting the mod beforehand because I'm dumb. So I restart my computer (though not before accidentally switching users), but when the system reboots... NMM just stops. The shortcut is there, the files are there, my game still has the mods I've installed, but the manager doesn't start. No splash screen, no error. I just get a millisecond-long loading cursor and then nothing. I tried installing the latest version (I've been a few updates behind), but no dice. Run as administrator, nothing. Run directly from the .exe file, nope. And if I can't get this fixed, I'm 50 shades of screwed. Long TL;DR: I changed lighting mods and uninstalled Better Vampires, my game froze, I restarted my computer after accidentally switching users, and the Nexus Mod Manager is suddenly nothing more than a useless shortcut, even after an update. Short TL;DR: NMM broken, SOS.
  12. I'm actually having an opposite problem. I was using TFC and accidentally pressed the power button. I was using Dovahkiin Relaxes Too, which alters the camera's ability to zoom in or out. I turned off TFC, but then I couldn't scroll in or out or even attack. I can just draw my weapon with R and force into first by pressing F. I can also look around just fine, so I know it's not my mouse. I remember this happening twice in the past. The first time, I jst restarted the game. The second time, I never got it fixed and had to reinstall the game.
  13. Snake and tiger anthro-races could very easily be lore-freindly. One of the Akaviriian races, the Tsaesci I believe they're called, are serpent-people mainly centered around magic. Another Akaviriian race is the Ka Po'Tun, the tiger warriors built for melee combat. It would make sense...Bethesda has already integrated a thief-type character, the Khajiit, as well as the assassin Argonians. Why not round out the beast-race circle with the Ka Po'Tun warriors and the Tsaesci mages? It probably wouldn't be too horribly difficult to make new models, either. Now, I am NOT saying, however, that it be easy, either. But the Ka Po'Tun could be a bulkier, retextured version of the Khajiit. There's already a tiger retexture by JazzJr. This race is also considered to be more wild and I suppose less evolutionized, so digitigrade legs, longer claws, and a power similar to the Orc Berserker power would be good aspects to have. A bonus to Two-Handed and Heavy Armor would make sense, as well. The Tsaesci, however, would be more difficult. As they are serpents, they would need an entirely new body form. There would have to be new armors tailored for it, as well. But from what I know, the Tsaesci are very prideful, rather self-absorbed mages, so their powers could be heavily based off of the Altmer. This whole thing could probably make for a very good, lore-friendly quest mod, too. If someone was up for the challenge.
  14. Love this idea! Of course, it would be extremely immersion-breaking and completely non-lore-friendly, but honestly, who gives a crap? It's Transformers! xD I strongly second this idea. But first off, the modder would need to get permission from Hasbro, Michael Bay, etc. to use their ideas (someone used dialogue from G1 Megatron for a Centurion follower without permission and got banned for it). Secondly, we'd have to find a modder who could actually build armor of this nature in the first place, and be willing to do so. But that brings to mind...I wonder if someone could turn one of the dragons into Predaking from Transformers Prime? :b
  15. I've been having crashes between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. in-game here recently, but I thought I had it sorted out. I had read on another thread that the mod Decomposition, which I had, would cause CTDs during waiting, fast traveling, or even just letting time go on to a certain period in the day/night. For these people, it was midnight. Even so, I uninstalled Decomposition and, lo and behold, I could wait! I could sleep! I could fast travel! I could even explore without fear of a morning meltdown... Until today. I was coming out of Whiterun after a bottle of mead or two. I just got past the bandit camp on the outskirts of Whiterun (I went around it) when some random High and mighty Elf came out of the grass and started zapping me with lightning and roasting me with fire. I made fairly short work of him once I got close enough to get in a few swings, but continuing on after the battle, I found a spot where the textures were missing on the ground - just the ground. Grass, rocks, flowers, etc. were all fine. I put out my foot to see if it was solid, because the bugged patch was right in the path of my objective and it was too big to go around. I went ahead and checked the time, and decided to wait til 9 when I could see (it was nightime and raining). When I stopped waiting, it was 9:53 in-game. So I continued on across the sea of buggy low-res giant green pixels. But mere moments later, my game crashed - at 10 a.m. in-game. Long story short, how can I fix these morning crashes? Could the missing texture play a part in the problem? Or could it be my memory (or lack thereof), as I had been playing for a few hours overall?
  16. I'm having the exact same issue. I just started my Imperial character since my old one was so bugged out, screwed up, modded, and corrupted that I couldn't play it any longer. As I've gone through my second partial Dawnguard playthrough (only through to the Blood Chalice or whatever that quest is called), I've had almost no bugs at all. Til now. My character is listed as a vamp, has the Lord power, the whole 9 yards, but not the appearance of a vampire. I tried the setrace command, didn't help.
  17. It doesn't start the download process. It just starts the launcher and doesn't do anything more that if I were to just hit 'Play Game' on my home Skyrim tab. I played Dawnguard once, but then my game CTD, and Dawnguard disappeared. It's like I had never bought it. And it refuses to redownload.
  18. ...is there no mod for this? I want sneak to function like in the Witcher 2...walk slightly hunched but upright more or less and stick close to walls and crates to hide behind.
  19. I have this enabled, but I'm trying to activate one plugin and it doesn't even show up in the load order.
  20. One is Witcher2 Replace mod, but I can't use it because it's manual, and I'm not an administrator (family computer) so I can't download files. :/
  21. My Khajiit had the hairstyle of the two braids over the shoulders and the one in the back. So, technically, he has long hair. But it's static and it clips into all armors but the Dark Brotherhood armor, and I'm sorry, but that armor looks like some kind of red-and-black full-body Speedo or something.
  22. There is a mod called More Additional Player Voices, but it only gives a vanilla voice of your choosing to your character during events like sneaking, drawing a weapon, finding a new area and so on. Personally, I'd like to see a mod that adds cutscenes similar to those of The Witcher 2. And yes, it would be a sizeable undertaking, but they've made hundreds of mods that add prostitution and bigger boobs and even more that remove womens' clothing and body proportions. Why can't they put their time and effort to good use and make it so the character is no longer mute? Also, there's a mod called Khajiit Speak that overhauls the ENTIRE BODY of Skyrim dialogue to fit more of a Khajiit style of speaking (a.k.a, "I would like to trade with you" is "Khajiit would like to trade with you" and your character's name is very often 'said' throughout the dialogue). If they managed to overhaul every single sentence on paper- or a computer screen- why can't someone else just say what's already there? Yes, you'd need several voice actors, but only as many as there are races. If I knew anything about scripting and if I didn't have a voice like Braith's, I'd like to do it. And the animations thing, the biggest thing would to be to make the moth move in sync to your words. Not everyone talks with their hands, so why can't the Dragonborn be one of them? But this subject highly intrigues me. Sorry for the thirty years I made you take reading this. :)
  23. Yeah, Morrowind had Levitation, but it was nothing but TCL by spell. The mod is called Sneak Tools, but you don't get any new climbing animations and the rope climbing is, for me at least, very confusing. But I do like slitting peoples' throats...
