  1. I know it may be too soon after the second update which screwed up everything, but I was using a downgraded game before this, the update happened and my game stopped working and the SKSE loader was gone, so I followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl-hfxw8tV0 this guide and redownloaded the downgrader and downgraded my game back to version 1.5.97 and redownloaded the Special Edition SKSE, but whenever I try to launch the game through the SKSE loader, the game doesn't launch and the loader is deleted. This is the first time I've had this issue. As a side note, trying to add the loader back to the Special Edition folder after having done it once will give me the error saying I don't have permission, renaming the file works once, but restarting my PC seems to fix it, I don't know if it's related.
  2. I think I've done it! So the femaleheaddetail_age[xx].dds files I found before were added by This mod and since it didn't work I uninstalled it. So I took two copies of blankdetailmap.dds from Fair Skin Complexion and renamed one femaleheaddetail_age40.dds and the other femaleheaddetail_age50.dds, as those were the two numbers I remembered, and put another copy of blankdetailmap.dds in the folder for good measure and it works! I'll get to work on adding my other mods in, but I think the issue is solved.
  3. Yes! I found two files in Data/interface named PipboyMenu.swf and Pipboy_InvPage.swf, I took them out, and it works! Thank you so much!
  4. Sorry for not responding in a bit, I tried out that mod, and it seems to work! Issue is it doesn't resolve the issue completely, but I'm pretty sure it does tell me that the issue is the mod still displaying the vanilla detailmaps. However when I tried to follow through with replacing/removing the "old" detailmaps I discovered the mod I'm currently using doesn't have a blankdetailmap.dds in it, I've found the femaleheaddetail_age[xx].dds files but I don't have anything to replace them with. Should I look for another mod to grab its file? Or is there one you can send me?
  5. "Something appears to be telling it that you're an old person. Maybe a dumb question, but how old are "you" (your player)?" I never actually touched the age slider, but doing so results in no change. "Wait... do you want the last snapshot, but aged? I thought you were expecting the third one (youthful) but were getting one of the other two (aged)." No, I wanted the third one, looking aged isn't what I want. "AND, have you checked your head model for compatibility? I downloaded a slew of racemenu presets that have gorgeous faces (in the author-made snapshots they come with), but when I apply them to my player, she looks grotesque, due to the old high polygon count head model (ie the one before there was anything people called "high poly head", back ~2018 or so)" I don't know, I've never checked. How would I go about doing that? "TBH, I'm not a native speaker, so maybe that's why I missed something... But what exactly is the issue? NPCs looking "old" although they shouldn't? Player character looking "old"? You write about "broken" skin mods. So, how exactly are they "broken"?" Because they are appearing to have facial textures from vanilla, rather than using the face textures from the mod. "And why do you think, USSEP is the culprit? Any evidence for that? TBH, I really doubt USSEP changes skin textures or the like." I haven't tested any of the other mods I want to install to see if they cause the same issue, but mods like my body replacer, Bodyslide, racemenu, skyUI, those mods leave the skin mod working as intended, but as soon as I enable USSEP it stops working.
  6. I'm at a complete loss at this point. the problem is what it says. I tried a complete reinstall after not playing after a while and the Unofficial Patch now breaks any skin mod I try to use. Here's what I've learned so far through testing and suffering: It's not the skin mod I use (Leyenda Skin UUNP 4K), I've tried it with others and the same issue occurs. It's not the body replacer I use (Legacy UUNP [Due to a custom slider set which doesn't work with BHUNP]) it's still broken without one or with CBBE. Installing Racemenu or even the super duper new one from Patreon doesn't solve the issue. My load order isn't the issue. Loose files in texture folders isn't the issue. I've made sure Racemenu's tintmasks aren't screwed The NPCs affected seem to be completely random, some named npcs are changed some aren't, some randomly generated npcs are changed some aren't. (It does seem to be consistent between tests) Something I've tried to do in a sort of makeshift attempt to try and force it to work is manually replacing files with the ones from my skin mod, but that didn't work and created its own problem (It causes the mod face texture to show up by default, even if no skin mod is installed, deleting files and verifying nor reinstalls fix it, I really don't care as long as I fix the issue I made this post for) The last thing I was told to try before my request on another site died was "Based on the 2nd picture, it looks to me that the texture mod does not include detail maps for the age difference - femaleheaddetail_age40.dds and femaleheaddetail_age50.dds, therefore it defaults to the vanilla textures" This hasn't been an issue before but it's still something that might lead to a solution but I have no idea at this point. Here are some screenshots. The default player Randomly generated NPC Gerdur and what the mod should roughly make faces look like. I'm at a loss at this point. I enjoy Skyrim and I love playing with mods and this seemingly unfixable issue has been super aggravating. I'm desperate at this point.
  7. The issue is what it says on the tin. I have a completely clean install, haven't even installed the Script Extender (Though the issue doesn't change even if I do, I've already tested it about a month ago before I gave up) I installed DEF_UI, and decided to try making my own HUD, nothing major, just pushing things out of the way a bit. I followed instructions, chose Use Existing HUD instead of Vanilla, ran the setup in the right place and made sure the file went to the right folder, and launched the game. The custom HUD works and everything, but the second I try and open the Pip-Boy my game crashes to desktop. I've looked in other places and nothing has helped, it's always been the fault of some other mod, but as I said before, DEF_UI is the only mod installed at the moment. DEF_UI is an essential mod and I can't just play without it, so I'm at a loss for what to do.
  8. It's as simple as that. I've done a clean reinstall of Fallout 4, installed the script extender without issue, this time I thought I'd try making my own HUD layout (I selected use existing instead of Vanilla HUD), just pushing most of the icons towards the edge of the screen, nothing major, I saved it, and put the .xml file where it says to put it, and now as long as DEF_UI is installed, regardless if I reinstall it or try switching to Vanilla HUD), the second I try to open my pip boy the game crashes to desktop. Google has been unhelpful, everything I've found another mod is the cause of the problem but at the moment DEF_UI is literally the only mod I have installed.
  9. Well that's the strangest part, I did delete the whole SE folder, and the face texture looked like the one from the mod. I just tried it again, and yeah, weirdly enough it uses the face texture of the mod!
  10. I'm trying a new tactic, I've done another clean install, no mods yet, and looking at the female face, it looks but the vanilla female face just looks like the face from Leyenda Skin, despite not having any mods installed. I also installed SKSE again, the Anniversary Edition version 2.1.5, and again, no issues. I installed RaceMenu and ran it, looks good... Installed Leyenda Skin and ran it with RaceMenu, looks good and yeah, it looks like running it purely vanilla uses the face textures/details/whatever you wanna call it of Leyenda skin, despite it being a completely fresh install, which is weird. Then added in Legacy UUNP, and no changes. But when I installed the Unofficial Patch, bam, back to not working. Though I noticed it broke on a new game, I loaded a previous new game save and it looked like it was still working, unfortunately I didn't think to save so I can't replicate it. But the wholly vanilla game using the Leyenda Face Texture is strange, I may have tried shuffling around the face textures and may have screwed with the game files seeing if that could fix it (evidently it didn't), maybe that has something to do with it. Maybe I should try a clean install again, then delete wherever the face textures are and then Verify Integrity on steam and reacquire the files?
  11. I actually already have been trying it in new games, nothing changes unfortunately. Edit: I just had a thought, maybe it's something from the Creation Club? I sometimes look on there to see if anything's free, even if I never use it, but I've never seen an option to turn them off. Anything I can do to do that?
  12. The issue with USSEP really is strange, I haven't ever heard of anything like this happening. Multiple mods I'm keen on using do require it so not using it really isn't an option. I tried the newest version from the Patreon, it didn't change anything unfortunately. I have Bodyslide version 5.5.2, using it didn't change anything. Lastly I've tried using a different body replacer (BHUNP), and that didn't work. I'm honestly at a loss, this is honestly not a problem I thought I'd be having.
  13. I just freshly installed it from Steam, the executable says it's version 1.6.353, so Anniversary edition. I installed the Anniversary Edition version of SKSE, version 2.1.5, I'm pretty sure I installed the correct version of Racemenu, it says it's Anniversary Edition, version 0.4.19.9, so unless that's the wrong version that leaves Legacy UUNP, issue with that is that I've tried testing it without any body replacers and I have the same issue. I use a body replacer because of some other mods I'm planning on installing once I solve this issue, but I'm unfortunately forced to use Legacy UUNP because I have a specific Bodyslide Slider Preset I want to use, which is for UUNP, but I have no idea how to convert it to BHUNP, or if I even can. Edit: Disregard just about everything I just said, I ran a new game with nothing but Racemenu and Leyenda Skin and the skin works, face changed and everything, I ran it with Racemenu, Leyenda Skin, and Legacy UUNP, and it works, but once I run it with the Unofficial Patch too, it stops working, so that means the issue's gotta be the Unofficial Patch, I didn't think I installed it wrong, seeing as it was the only available option on the Nexus, the version is 4.2.6a, is that the wrong version to use?
  14. With the first option, I think I see what I'm supposed to do, but the skin mod never had any conflicts, I never had the option to ensure that it loads after anything. With the second, after checking, the NPCs look to be working just fine, it's only the player's face texture that doesn't change. If it helps, the only mods I'm using are: Legacy UUNP Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch Alternate Start - Live another Life Leyenda Skin 4.0 UNP UIExtensions SkyUI Racemenu AddItemMenuSE
  15. So I recently did a complete reinstall of Special Edition, and it's been a while since I've tried to work with SE mods, and I've run into an issue. The skin mods do change the skin, but the face texture stays looking like the vanilla face. I'm trying to use Leyenda Skin specifically, but I'm having the same issue with every skin mod. Everything is running right as far as I know (I'm using the Anniversary Script Extender and it's working, either that's what I did last time or I used a version downgrader but I'm not sure it'll help and it's too much of a pain to only try to see if it fixes it) and the only mods that could possibly affect things is Leyenda Skin and Racemenu. This is the first time I've had this issue and I'm at a complete loss for how to fix it. I do use Vortex because I'm a scrub and trying to look elsewhere for answers brings up either something unrelated or the black or blue face bug, which isn't the issue I'm having.
