  1. If, in the Oblivion game directory, in "Oblivion.ini", I have the line "bUseMyGamesDirectory=0" the game engine will use "Oblivion\Oblivion.ini" Default is "bUseMyGamesDirectory=1" to use "My Games" BUT... the Oblivion Launcher will only make changes in "My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini" and "AppData\Local\Oblivion\plugins.txt' Therefore any Launcher changes will not get used. this also means the usable SAVE games, plugins.txt, and the DLCList.txt also have/will be in the Oblivion GAME dir.
  2. I tried to convert a random sized image and failed... :( I went back to my XP computer where I have 'DDS Converter 2.1' by Yannick 'Bluehair' Leon copyright 2004-2005. When I ran it on a random image I'll call 'MyPic.jpg', it told me 'Error: [MyPic.jpg] size not a power of 2' ---- To test this version of 'ddsconvert' I created 2 diretories TMP/input and TMP/output 'pTEST_1391x826.png' was my original image. (win8.1 64bit) Using 'IrfanView' I did a mix of cropping & resizing to get the dimensions then saving the resulting image with a filename showing the size in TMP/input. 'ddconvert' version 1dot0 _said_ it processed each file and gave an output filename but the non-power-of-2 dds files were NOT created in TMP/output. Example: Processed file bTEST_1024x1000.bmp -> bTEST_1024x1000.dds Here are the results with my FAIL comments: bTEST_128x64.bmp -> bTEST_128x64.dds bTEST_512x512.bmp -> bTEST_512x512.dds bTEST_1024x1000.bmp -> (FAIL: dimensions not power of 2) bTEST_1024x1024.bmp -> bTEST_1024x1024.dds bTEST_1391x826.bmp -> (FAIL: dimensions not power of 2) gTEST_512x512.gif -> gTEST_512x512.dds gTEST_1024x1000.gif -> (FAIL: dimensions not power of 2) jTEST_1024x512.jpg -> jTEST_1024x512.dds jTEST_1391x826.jpg -> (FAIL: dimensions not power of 2) pTEST_1024x1024.png -> (FAIL: not a valid type) pTEST_1391x826.png -> (FAIL: not a valid type) tTEST_512x512.tga -> tTEST_1024x512.dds tTEST_1024x1000.tga -> (FAIL: dimensions not power of 2) tTEST_1391x826.tga -> (FAIL: dimensions not power of 2) So 'ddsconvert' will run under Win8.1 64bit but the images must be a power-of-2 in dimensions. Maybe an error message written in?
  3. did you try the renamed creature using a save game that had never been played with the old names? so many things get saved....
  4. I'm curious.... what was the solution? (In case it ever happens to me)
  5. I just dealt with this MapGrass problem when I consolidated my multiple test worldspaces into a new copy of Oblivion (vanilla, patched, load order OK). The MapGrass texture in my different worldspaces was different depending on which worldspace and which quad I was in. I was using Bravil as my portal point and it had Bravil's quad as MapGrass if I had LOD turned on. Bravil had MapGrass even when I did not use any of my plugins and an old vanilla savegame. I've seen IC's map when in IC's quad so I'd expect Kvatch's map when in that quad. When I renamed the directory Data\Textures\LandscapeLOD\Generated to Generated.BAD Bravil's MapGrass was solved. I then recreated the LOD for the few of my worldspaces I cared about and still no MapGrass. YEA!!! It's possible that just getting rid of Generated\Partial would do the same goodness. I read that once the LODs are all fully created, anything in Partial is no longer needed. That seems to be true, as I've moved those files out of there so Oblivion can't find them and have had no problems due to that. So I'd try renaming Data\Textures\LandscapeLOD\Generated\Partial to Partial.BAD first the next time I get MapGrass.
  6. This mod was in your original list: DecoratorAssistant with OBSE v1.1.esp which makes me wonder if you are using OBSE as needed? ( I don't know which of the other mods may also need OBSE.) Are your Oblivion patches up to date?
  7. Greetings all; http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9769 (main page) http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=43947 (failed file from above page) I report this because of this chain of events: 1. (not logged in) I try to download a 64M OMOD file & fail (expected behavior). 2. Logged in, see LOGOUT at top right of screen. 3. try to download OMOD again, and failed!?! 4. download 4K optional file - worked. 5. download 64M 7zip file - worked 6. try again to download 64M OMOD - failed due to not logged in it complains. I am/was logged in, says so at top. 7. FYI: this is an extra: as I was typing this in, I went back to try the OMOD yet again and contact form disappeared to be reused as the 'failed to download because not logged in' page. ACK! I had to type this all over again. I did refresh the page so that wasn't a solution. Also I've come to the forum because I can't verify my humanity! :wallbash: I tried and tried, only my dog believes me. After typing this (the second time) into the 'contact form' I made a copy elsewhere to cut&paste with. I was downloading via Iexplorer 8.0.6001.18702, XP Home SP3, on an Aspire One Netbook while I play Oblivion on my stronger computer. And Thanks to ALL  and especially Dark0ne  for the years of effort in these sites. (fun with emoticons! yea) --------- 2 days later... I logged in first, then went to 'Frostcrag Reborn'. Again the same error on the omod version, so it's not the sequence of events that's the problem. :ermm:
