  1. Yes, I copy/restore my skyrim folder without any problems. Make sure you backup your saves and .ini files in "My Documents/Games/Skyrim" as well.
  2. Since you have the custom race, it has its own body dir, something based on the Oriental Race it would look like Data\meshes\actors\character\Oriental\Body Data\meshes\actors\character\Oriental\OrientalHead Data\textures\actors\character\Oriental\female This would allow your own body and textures to remain separate from the rest of Skyrim.
  3. Are you using a custom race? As I understand it, PCE creates a new folder, places default animations in that folder, and redirects the default animation path to the new folder for vanilla race animation paths. If you're trying to use a vanilla race, it won't work as intended.
  4. Sorry I ended up in the wrong forum! Would a mod mind moving this thread to the Mod Talk please :wallbash:
  5. Hands down, the one thing they did right, they gave users creative access! everything else is just filler. The game was "ok" out of the "box" I enjoyed the 3 days it took the first time I completed my destiny as the dragonborn, but not enough to continue playing it. I uninstalled it a week after I bought it. and then... I found out about places like thenexus!
  6. If you're not running a custom race, and even if you were, the only thing I could say is check your install dir and make sure the cbbe files ended up in the correct place. If its not working at all, I don't think its in the right place. by default they should end up in Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets female and Data\textures\Actors\character\female
  7. So, I've been working on a mod, which adds a type of Tensen (Iron Fan) There is already a set floating around the net, I enjoy them, but I wanted to expand on the idea. What I would like to be able to do, have a closed animation of the tensen at idle, and when block is activated, I would like the animation to start and expand the tensen. I have no idea if this is even possible to connect the model and skeleton animation in such a way. The reason I think it would be is that when the standard block animation is triggered, the hand starts open at idle and clinches on trigger. Aside from what I'd like, creating a full custom block animation for the tensen alone could be an alternitive, but that doesn't strike me as something that would be very popular among masses who just want to install and enjoy. The only other way I can see something like this visually would be to use 2 separate models, one for open, one for closed tensen, being used in conjunction with something with weapon scripting like Armed to the Teeth, would allow me to define the closed tensen as a dagger/mace and open as a shield. Which atm is the way I'm learning towards because it sounds much easier. But wouldn't look at cool as an animation. anyone have any thoughts?
  8. Looking through a couple forums, seems that the majority of people with similar problems were able to work around them by using the Simple Boarderless Window mod or something similar. Basicly run your game in windowed mode maximized.
  9. Intel based mac? format and install bootcamp and windows, dual boot with separate partitions. Or if you're feeling frisky, install Linux! macs aren't real macs anymore. There is one other way, but since I know only what I glanced at in google, I would question its legality here, so I won't mention it.
  10. Is this with a new game, or a saved game? It could be that a previously installed mod is still being referenced by the gamesave. I did come across something similar with fraps fixing a lag issue, no idea off the top of my head, but I'll get back to you.
  11. I haven't read beyond the first post, but I play a female in the game because, well, I'm a guy. who finds the female figure more pleasant to look at blah blah blah blah, and if I'm going to stare at someone's ass all day while I play my game, I have a choice right... With that out of the way, I've had had a great time adding mods, editing this and that of the females in my game. Which is 99% of the time, not in game looking at them. There are so many mods that we can use to edit females, one could get lost from one day to the next. The guys on the other hand, for every female 10 mods, i installed 1 mod, just one for guys, and honestly it kind of upsets me. I don't feel I have to do anything to make them, IMO The guys look better than the girls! But I'm a guy... and I don't really care what the guy's look like, but I sware they still look better than the girls!
  12. I have no idea what you just broke! But I can help with the original question. Weapon positioning is controlled by the NODE placement in your assigned skeleton. You can use the CK to find this by inspecting your custom race, but that's all in that regard. To change the placement you would have to use a compatible .nif editing program like NifSkope A simple walkthough would be something like While staring at NifSkope, make a backup of the file you are about to edit and then... 1= With NifSkope, open the correct skeleton.nif located in your meshes\actors\character\ RACE \body 2= select the node you wish you move; i.e. 1handed/2handed/something named what you're looking for! 3=Right-Click that node, highlight Node, Attach Parent Node, select Ninode 4= Select and Right-Click the NInode you just created, highlight Transform, select Edit 5= Now comes the fun part 6=Use the X,Y,Z locations of Translation and Rotation to move the Node in question to the desired location 7= Once you mess with that and decide you have no idea what you just did, move to #8 8=Click Accept at the bottom of the edit window 9=Save in the correct location! Did you make a backup? 10=Stare at yourself 11=Now comes the really really fun part, Rinse and Repeat from step 1 until desired effects are achieved. This ofcourse is the 2nd easiest way, the 1st being find an existing skeleton that matches what you want, may I suggest Custom Skeleton Replacers Or, you could go the most difficult route, yet most rewarding, and make your own from scratch. If you need any more help, just ask.
  13. Your CPU is a bit faster than my 1st gen Phenom II Black, but the rest of my system is Identical. I'm using the 12.10 CCC atm, it seems to work fine when I enable and disable the Distant Object Fade. Seems like you're talking about the Distant Object Detail as well? Having that set high, is a slight performance hit for me in general, but in towns, where there is a lot of distance, distant objects, and NPCs doing their things, you can expect some system taxing going on. Most of which is CPU intensive. Although I would think you would be handle it a bit better with that CPU. My CPU is my bottleneck, yet I run with 30-45fps in most towns, 48-60fps in open areas, usually capped at 60fps indoors, with every HD texture, enhanced mesh thinger mabobbers I can get my hands on, and a maxed ENB to rub it all together. With the ENB off I gain 8-12 fps, but it looks so pretty! What settings are you running in CCC and in Skyrim? Mine are something like; Skyrim: 16:9 1920x1080 AA = OFF (I'm using SMAA for AA) AF = 16x Detail = Ultra with shadows on High and no Object Fade In my Skyrim.ini, I increased the cell load are by adding larger cell buffer zones, just saying as a reference, my game is actually loading more than the default cell area, lowering my performance slightly. But keep this in mind if you get your fps figured out! uExterior Cell Buffer=64 uInterior Cell Buffer=32 uGridsToLoad=7 iLargeIntRefCount=999999 CCC: 12.10 AA = OFF (I've found no major improvement, visually, turning this on or off compared to SMAA, with hardly any of the performance hit) AF = 16x VidSYNC = Always on Tessellation Optimized (not that I know if it has anything to do with Skyrim!) Texture Filtering Quality = Quality (was suggested leaving this alone do to ENB conflits, if not I would have it on High Quality) Surface Format Enabled Even with all the mods I have installed, I know I can squeeze a few more fps here and there if I continue poking stuff, but I'll still be CPU limited. You on the other hand, I'm no expert, but your i5 uses the Ivy Bridge? Where my Phenom II is still 1st gen, from what I've read you should be 40%-60% faster with that CPU over what I'm using. Which should make a world of difference. *edit, I guess it would help to know which version of the r7950 you have as well? Mine is the MSI Twin Frozr, and depending on which 7950 you have, AMD released new Reference Card BIOS for these cards not too long ago. These cards actually come with a dial BIOS setup, meaning you can flash to nearly any of the 7950 flavors, and if you break it, flip the switch next to the X-Fire connecter and back to factory settings. But I still think you should be performing better the way you're sitting now.
  14. There are readable plaques, possibly what you're looking for? Off the top of my head, there are a few in Labyrinthian and on the path to High Hrothgar. Maybe check them out in CK and see how they did it?
  15. Off the Description; Current version is 1.7.7.0 Curious how yours isn't up to date, since steam does that.
  16. Correct, you used Apachii's hair mesh. Like the person previously said, the simplest way would be to redirect your followers hair back to the Apachii file, then place in your description that Apachii Hair is required for your follower to look correct.
  17. This should help Load Order and You NMM= Nexus Mod Manager and a few others, I use Wrye Bash mysef, allow you to control which mods are active and in which order they load, with multiple mods, you need something like this to reduce conflicting mods causing CTD and/or other undesirables. BOSS is an addition to the managers with a preset load order to help you correct your load order.
  18. I'd like to assume NMM and the mods around are sync'd correctly and install perfectly, yes I would! I install everything by hand myself so IDK sorry. I'd assume if there was a problem with it, it would be addressed shortly. I also use a custom race, so requires a custom install. If you used the enhanced char edit, the changes you made with it will revert, aside from that you should be able to uninstall/delete everything with no recourse to the default game, all that is stored in BSA files. Tho, it is always a good idea to use a clean save to install and uninstall. Personally I have 400gigs of backups sitting on another drive just incase when, I break something... Now that I understand what you're looking to do, I think you should try to start with The Ashen Race - HD and add in which body parts you want overtop of it. Install orders are all about which pieces you want to keep and which you want to replace. Something like, install the Ashen Race first because it is a full overhaul to the chars, then eyes, lips, face/body and skeleton last. If you choose to that is. You always install what you want to add on last. As for load orders, check out BOSS it does a very nice job as maintaining load orders of 94%? of the mods I have. But in general the same rule applies, load your base first then load what you want to keep last so it overwrites the previous. There's a very nice write up about about Load Order and You
  19. I'm sorry, I guess I didn't fully understand your question before. Are you trying to change their face structure, or the face quality? If you put it all in the correct folders, the body and face quality should have improved, if their face isn't matching their body, you need to check your folder structure, the body, head, and face parts don't end up in the same folders. As for changing what the NPC's face look like, you would have to either edit that manually through the CK or the console. Or download a mod like The Ashen Race - HD Using this also gives you the ability to separate yourself from the rest of the world, body wise.
  20. The fair skin textures and meshes go in last, overwrite everything. If you look in the optional files for the fair skin, there is a CBBE facemesh to match the body, I have no seam using it.
  21. try Enhanced Character Edit I use Ran's round headmesh on my unp body, but for the CBBE I like the Fair Skin Complexion Sweaty Body-ADEC-CBBE-UNP-UNPB textures and head mesh look into Xenius' mods, there are a few! and Seductive Lips HD don't be afraid to try out other body parts from other races, stuff like lips are different for each race. I use a Breton mesh on my Nord based char. Don't forget Femfeet and hands, sorry I can't remember where the hand meshes are.
  22. Either switch the Animations in the Art and sound to the twohanded, or copy and rename the 2h animation files to the onehanded name.
  23. really close, maybe a new helm to match them? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18028 http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18940
  24. I'm rather new to this, but I've been noticing the same thing in my game since I started running with enbs. I'm running 3 different models types, cbbe unp and bettermales, with 9 different textures between them. I don't see it at all on the males, but it looks to me like most of the female textures have a semigloss sheen to them. The edges of the shadows seem to be the start of a rainbow effect caused by shaders in the enbs. I've noticed it more so in v0119 and v017 based enbs than the previous, I think they added an enhanced reflective surfaces or something. The v0113 doesn't share this effect from what I remember. I've been able to compensate using the v0119 and shaders from a v0113 to remove the line, but it makes my shadows splotchy. You might have better results. If you're not running an enb, then idk? You should! It doesn't happen if I disable it. www.enbdev.com
