I'm thinking about making an armor set mod, but came to a problem when I finished making helmets for different race. They are already "skin wrap" and "BSDskinmodified" appropriately. One for "default" races, one for Orcs, one for Khajiit and one for Argonians. What exactly should I do next in Creation Kit, so that the game will give the race the appropriate variety? Tribunal masks (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20077) done an excellent job in this, The masks appeared in three different forms so they fit perfectly on all races. Any idea how I can do the same?

Game crash at loading, yet BOSS Log appears to be normal
la6213 replied to la6213's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I only activated one plugin for Cloaks of the Skyrim "cloaks.esp", and I disabled the other two. I thought that would be okay, but now I see where it's gone wrong. Thanks! I was unaware WofTE is broken, I used the ones from follwoing link http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12892 "Weapons of the Third Era MoS edition by masterofshadows and 747823 originally" But then after some checking, I realized it is incompatible with CCO and DspSOB And I also can't believe I didn't think about an outdated BOSS, silly me  It's been too long since I checked everything. Thanks again! -
Game crash at loading, yet BOSS Log appears to be normal

I'm having crashing issues at specific saves. Some saves works, some do not, regardless of being early or not. But majority of my saves crash at loading, and sometimes when I enter specific areas. Is it due to the mods I installed? I checked with BOSS and it appears to be fine. The following is my BOSS log for recognized plugins. I'm pretty sure the problem isn't in my only unrecognized plugins. (it's a harmless mask) There isn't a lot, and most of these are the top files I found on Nexus. -- These plugins are recognised by BOSS and have been sorted according to its masterlist. So the problem should either be the mods or ENB? -
Oh yes. Did you do the female mesh yourself (using Blender or 3dsmax?) or is it only a retexture (no changes to the mesh?) If you changed the mesh (I think you did from what you say) take a similar, working mesh and compare every inch. The black color looks like you did not set vertex colors to yes. I did changed the mesh via 3dsmax. But I'm not sure what you meant by "set vertex colors to yes"? And I didn't change anything about the female body, only the armor. I simply imported it for fitting the armor better, skin wrapping, weighting, BSD..etc. then at the end I just copy and paste the meshes from the product nif file, to femalebodyastrid_0 and femalebodyastrid_1. So the key problem was the armor? Not the body? (The body texture was working fine for other armors and naked bodies) Edit: Nevermind, I decided to start the whole thing again, and now it's working for some reasons. But I'm still tangling with the weight slider.

Sorry to bother you guys once more  , but I'm out of my wit here. I'm at the final stage of editing the mod - fixing the textures, yet strange things keep on happening and hindering my progress. When I load the game, it instantly closed itself without any warning message. This continued to happen, then I was so frustrated that I restarted my computer, and then suddenly I can load my game now. (I tried different saves, some times it crashes as soon as I load a game, sometimes it crashes when I put on the armor) But then the body texture won't show, no matter how many times I copy and paste the meshes onto a new, clean, untouched female body nif, the body texture remains pitch black with some strange glow on it (I assume _n is still working) I use vanilla body with few mods, which were working perfectly fine (armor and body texture was showing) before I started finalizing my skin wrapping, BSDismembering meshes...etc Even right now the game crashes randomly when I load my saves. I really don't remember where I did wrong. The male version of the mod works perfectly and never give me such problem. What should I do? I would hate to start from scratch. It took me ages just to try to fit the robs with the female upper body. Not to mention that damn weight slider. PS. The original mod was "Robed Ebony Armor" by MadCat221 (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28190). I was just modifying it to my liking, so all credits go to MadCat221. And the title "my mod" means a mod I'm using, not a mod that I made. Sorry for any misunderstanding. Removing pics since my problem was solved (or rather avoided this time).

There is also the sci-fi mod, remember? Mass Effect Star Wars War Hammer 40000 And I'm pretty sure I missed a whole lot more. I really don't think relevance is the problem here. It's a matter of personal taste. So maybe what you're really questioning is "why do people like MLP so much that they have to make mods for it"?

I think you're talking about PC Exclusive Animation Path? But it's more of custom race exclusive unless you want all other npc of your vanilla race to have the same animation. (Still decent though, especially if you play as a Khajiit)

I made the steel armor torso-less, then added a section of the studded armor to where the steel armor torso was. I exported them as one nif file as I'm trying to make a new version of the steel armor. (all done by 3ds max) In NifSkope, I can see that I have two meshes (excluding the body) for two parts of the same armor I'm trying to make. http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/7079/nifl.jpg 8 for the chestpad. 16 for the torso-less steel armor. I've already replaced the BSLightingShaderProperty of all the meshes since exporting from 3ds screwed them up. However, in the game, when my character wear the steel armor, only the torso-less steel armor (16) was shown. http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/5366/2013010900001.jpg The torso I cut from the studded armor (8NiTriShape) simply won't show, not even the meshes (thus no texture as well). I'm not sure where I did wrong? I mean I saw many armor mods using multiple meshes. And this armor shown up fine in NifSkope. What can I do to make this mesh appear in game as well?

Thanks, you saved half of my progress  May I ask is there also one for male? I couldn't find something like malebodyastrid. Edit: Nevermind, I found a pretty good resource on skyrim nexus Full Male Body Mesh by Sundracon http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4196 URL provided for future reference. Cheers mate.

I'm new to modding and have just followed through Nightasy's Creating Armor Tutorial on Youtube. (which is completely awesome, especially for a mod newb like me) However, I notice he used UNP body throughout. And when I'm trying to edit and change some of the armor (with vanilla body), many body parts are missing (he mentioned this on the tutorial but I'm not sure if there is a fix) For example, I'm trying to delete the entire torso section of the steel armor, but the vanilla body doesn't even have chest, thus leaving empty spaces in 3ds max. So how do you mod vanilla armor? Do you have to create a body mod with naked vanilla body (excluding the underpant) then import it?

I think User Interface mod is essential before you begin. Before I got it, I literally spent hours just trying to get through my inventory and that of shops. Smith is also incomplete in the original Skyrim and discourage you from actually using it. So for me, those Weapon fixes really get you going. In fact, I think most mods that change only the appearance can be installed at the beginning. Nothing wrong with enjoying better looks  (and it usually doesn't disrupt the balance) Especially for the mushed up faces of beast races in the original Skyrim Check out the Coverkhajiits mod (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5941), that's a huge difference right there.

> As for creating armours and weapons from scratch, yes it's possible as it's only a mesh; but it's worth taking the time to look at existing models in the game to see how they were put together and UV wrapped. This can really help your workflow when you come to do your own. One of my aim is to create a large mane for my Khajiit character (yeah I know it breaks the lore, but somehow it's there in Morrowind). And so far I don't see any existing mod that change the hair/facial hair of beast races. :wallbash: I thought I can just get around that by making human/mer's beards available to them, but apparently it's also impossible because there is no "all" option, just "all except beast races" (According to Blazer, who made the mod Beards UNLEASHED on Steam Workshop) In fact, I've just realized that no one has done it, even in Oblivion (despite the number of request). So before I do anything stupid and try to climb Mt.Himalaya, may I just ask...is it possible? :psyduck:

One quick question, are programs like Cinema 4D and 3ds Max more suitable for beginners? I didn't touch a modeling program in 5 years or so (so I forgot all about it...or did I just slept through the class?) And I'm interested to start from the absolute beginning. Right now I'm following instructions from "Creating an armour for Skyrim. Part 1" in Nexus Wiki, and it directed me to the page "http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro" Both are good materials, but I still find them a bit difficult, and Blender 2.4.9 isn't really helping either. Will Blender + GIMP + Nifskope be enoguh? Or should I get those programs (cinema 4d and 3ds max)?

Hi, this is my first time modding and my first time asking question on this forum, so forgive me if I said something completely obvious and stupid :psyduck: I've done some recoloring for armors before, this time I'm trying to change Tsun's armor. However, I really don't like the outlook of not having pants (I know that's what loincloth is used for...but...'sign') So I want to sneak in some pants to the back of the loincloth, maybe just some ragged trousers, or leg section of the ebony armor. But I still want to keep the belt on the waist (and the loincloth for aesthetic and lol value), as well as those mysterious band on Tsun's neck and arm. It should turned out something like NULL9's Male Cleric Armor (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12629), especially version 2 variant 1, which is amazing :woot: -- I also want to delete the Tsun's gloves and replace it with something else, so I supposed the same principle applies...but how to delete it at the first place? - I'm using nifskope, GIMP and blender (<- I haven't really done anything with Blender yet, I just heard it's useful). So can anyone help a noob?
