Usually a Load Order problem can cause a lot of problems. for skyrim. I don't know if it will solve YOUR problem but it will help solve other problems which could conflict making your problem exist.
or at the worse it does nothing for your problem, but you need those anyway to mod safely so that is a plus.

So I recently installed a bunch of mods including RealVision ENB. However, every time I boot up the game whether via launcher or SKSE, it crashes right after displaying the info about ENB and the Bethesda logo. I've tried some of the fixes as suggested such as using BOSS and TES5EDIT. None of the files are dirty anymore and they are all fine on the log. I turned off the FXAA, MSAA, SSAO, and AF all off. I also made sure my graphics card allowed Skyrim to be application controlled in terms of these settings. I also updated my Skyrimprefs.ini and Skyrim.ini files based on the Speed and Stability guide by tony971 here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50214/?
So the question now is what else is there to do? And have people ever experienced the same problem? I read around forums and it seems that the game will usually crash sometime after starting it but in my specific case, it doesn't even show the main menu. It crashes right after displaying the Bethesda logo.

If that does not work try moving Moss Rocks below SkyUi. If that doesnt work move Supreme Storms below the CoT patches but above the SupStorms Patch.
If non of this works re-run BOSS read what is says for each mod. If all seems fine odds are its not a compatibility issue.
Yeah it doesn't work and BOSS says there's nothing wrong.
Okay and the Bashed Patch is updated?
If so and still having problems check each mod independently for load order placement(boss isn't always right). and if the mod has CTD issues already known. If those mods say nothing then it could be a skyrim issue needing re install.

Hmm okay, So for example for a Melee character I'd have one profile(with mods that affect melee things) and another character who is a mage can have a profile which has mods that affect magic?
-
Okay it seems a bit messy. Lets go ahead and download BOSS and TESVEdit.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/?
http://boss-developers.github.io/
Run Boss after setting it up. This will put your mods in a neater and stable list. It will tell you if any are incompatible or dirty. Clean the dirty mods with TESVEdit.
There is a video on how to clean it by the wonderful Gopher on the TESVEdit home page.

Awesome glad you got it fixed!
-
You can TRY this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21921/?
Not sure if it will help or not.
-
Always start by posting your load order.
Easy way to do this is Go to your Computer>OS>Users>[uSERNAME]>AppData>Local>Skyrim
(Just system search %Appdata% and then go back one set of folders)
Look for Loadorder.text
-
Be sure to create one clean profile without mods, as is sugested in the guide I previosly mentioned, and then create as many moded profiles as you wish.
Okay So I deleted my modded skyrim and extracted my Vanilla folder and its where it needs to be. I created a Profile for "Vanilla" and now one for Essentials. Could I use the Essential Profile as a Template for when ever I make a new profile(For say another character)?
EDIT: Should I be unpacking the BSA files for mods? IE Unofficial Skyrim Patch.
-
It could be a compatabilty between mods. Please post your LoadOrder.

Hmm Well I have all the mods uninstalled from NMM I don't think I can find them now haha. I"ll just redownload them then. all at once then play thief since they will be downloading for years. Take this time to go through what I wont use though haha.
Random Question though. Is it safe to delete the BGS_Logo.bik file under Data/Video. It seems to be the file to play the Bethesda Logo at the start of the game.
-
I have never used Wrye for installing mods, but over NMM I would opt for the MO. The ability to install anything and hand-pick what you want in-game is awesome. I will have to write a rather long post on what it's benefits are
Try it, and fill free to ask anything concernig it's use.
Right now I have it installed and installing the Skyrim Patch, Is there a way to transfer(without redownloading) the mods from NMM to MO?

That's how it works. It drops your resolution by 50% if your FPS drops below a certain threshold. Sure it makes the GPU work less, and gives faster FPS during certain times, but I never liked how one second my resolution is in 1280x720, then drops to 1024x600 the next frames, then pops back up to 1280x720. It's annoying. You're better of just lowering the resolution permanently.
I would also be annoyed by that thanks for the info!

This one is outdated, but I always use as a reference for many things I tend to forget  --> http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited
Regarding the bashed patch, it must be excluded from the proc patchers and ALWAYS be above all of them. I strongly suggest you use SUM (there's more info about it's using on the STEP page above) as it will clear the clutter at the bottom of the mod list.
Is Mod Organizer better than using Wyre Bash to install mods?
-
Can you recall the drop is resolution? Does it make the GPU work more or less?
-
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15123/?
Does anyone use this? If so does it help or is it worth passing?
-
You might, if you intend to start new game, try to install Mod Organizer. Rusey is quite right about it's functionallity. Also, at the bottom of your mod list, you have a load of proc files. You can try and use SUM, which has an option to blend all of them into just one esp.
You mentioned that you use Wrye, but I don't see the bashed patch in your loadlist. Always bash-patch when having so many mods
It's there right at the bottom, perhaps it got cut off.
Oh! Then, yes  Fresh game you're good to go.
You might wanna keep a modless "test" save around so you can give a mod a trial run before adding it to your real game. Just something for the future
Thats the beautiful thing about Mod Organizer. You can run multiple set ups of skyrim side by side without mucking up your skyrim data directory
I can do that with Wyre Bash I think, repeat I think. Could someone link a guide they trust for Mod Organizer?

^Sorry, please see my edit -- if you already downloaded SSME, then you don't also need this. They do the same thing. Pick one
I am using SKSE alpha not SSME. So I am fine?
Yes, you are fine if you add those lines to the SKSE.ini
Cool I'll see if I get any more CTD's, maybe that helped.
Does it do similar things like ENBoost?
-

Right now I have a rar file of skyrim without tweaks and mods. and a rar of it modded without enb files.

So If I make a new save its fine?
No. Like I said, you have to back up or start over.
im sorry, starting over is what I was referring too. Not as in another save file for same character.
-
Where does one find the SKSE.ini
It'll be in your main Skyrim directory if you have one (NOT data folder). If you don't feel comfortable making your own, grab this one and make the appropriate edits.
The SKSE.ini comes with
[Display]
iTintTextureResolution=2048[General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1What should I do with those?Leave them
The first allows higher rez warpaint to display if you use it, the other helps clear up any rogue scripts you may have.
Okay, so you NEEd to put that SKSE setting in with the Alpha for the SSME changes?
Yep!
Glad you said something I didn't know!
-
So If I make a new save its fine?
-
I would keep all those and eventually add Mod Organizer to the mix. Bit higher learning curve than NMM but worth it. STEP has a good guide..
If you don't feel ready for that, then you can always ask mod authors if their stuff is scripted, if you really need to remove something.
Well I am only a few hours into my save so I've just dropped all the mods and made a new save. The scripts would be terminated correct?

BOSS and TESEdit are giving me the thumbs up to go.
