Forgive me if this has been done before or is too broad a topic, but I think it's a very important question for many people out there, including myself. I've tried my hand at modding Skyrim several times. I always used the Skyrim Nexus Mod Manager to download from this site, and either my own input or BOSS to change the load orders. Every time I mod my Skyrim, I put in many mods (around 200) and run my game, testing to see if everything runs correctly. Even if everything runs fine, eventually I'll run into problems. I'll get infinite loading screens, my game will either randomly quit to desktop or become overwhelmed and CTD, mods will conflict in a way I didn't forsee and glitches become much more common or game-breaking than they should. I'm asking for general input to help guide me to succesfully building a STABLE modded Skyrim. Should I manually install all my mods? Should I use another mod manager, or Steam Workshop? Am I simply using too many mods? Is there a problem with my computer? Is Skyrim just a very unstable game to begin with? Should I be using another technique to ensure my mods don't conflict and run smoothly? If anyone can help point me in the right direction I'd be very happy, because right now I see modding Skyrim as something that just isn't wise if you want a stable game experience.
