Black Sacrament Armor Mod from OG to SE Help Needed
TheFirebird replied to PrincessAmysDragons's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I still had issues after all the above steps - what finally fixed the invisible armor issue for me was repacking the bsa file (I use MO2, so am used to loose files in my mods). I used the guide in the link below and now all seems to work fine. The file structure needs to be the same, so if you're having issues even after repacking the bsa, bear in mind that (at least in the version I used) there is a texture\cubemaps folder that is originally outside the bsa, but if you unpack the bsa to the same folder, it will merge it into one texture folder. Not sure if that makes a difference, but follow this guide and hopefully it will all work fine. https://www.dracotorre.com/blog/convert-blacksacramentarmor-se/ -
Uknown problem with Meshes alteration. (Daedric weapons)
TheFirebird replied to Zaronios's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I'm going to engage in a bit of necromancy here, and resurrect this post - I'm having this same problem and I can't find much information on it at all. I'm just trying to replace the elven bow with a mesh from another mod, and it works perfectly, except for the fact that it seems to disappear when I drop it from my inventory. I dropped it in the Riverwood trader, and it appears behind the counter, no matter where I am when I drop it (I'm presuming that's the 0,0,0 coordinates inside the RT). If I drop it outside, well I have no idea where it goes. I checked in the usual spot above Bleakwind Basin where random stuff goes to die, but all I found there was a floating door... Does anyone out there know why this happens, and how I can fix it? I'm just using the mesh and texture as a replacer, so there's no esp or anything involved here. -
Another late reply to say thank you for the above late reply! Foobar works perfectly with the vgmstream plugin added, no skipping or anything. Late replies can still help others, so I say don't be afraid to necro an old post if you have something useful to add. This one helped me!

If the CBBE has a UNP preset, does this mean you can use this to wear clothes designed for UNP? Or is that a dumb question? (Just got my first PC and am on a learning curve...)

Thank you Ken, I had this issue too, and it was solved instantly by this tip. It also gave me back the use of my PS4 controller through SKSE64, which wasn't happening before!

You might well be right about this... I'm going to call up in the morning and check what motherboard they've tested it with, and if my suspicions are correct, it might not be the CPU that's bad... I'll post again tomorrow!
-
Update: Both the CPU and the motherboard are dead!! I'm assuming right now that I'm the unluckiest person on the planet. On the plus side though, the people at the PC shop I took it to said that I'd built it very well and it was a professional looking job. :teehee: They also don't see how it could be anything that I've done wrong to cause this, so I guess I'm just really unlucky! Has this ever happened to anyone else? Let me know so I feel slightly less bad about being me! Guess I'll start the RMA process...
-
Nothing at all happens when I push the button, might as well be poking a blank spot on a wall. I've just heard from the shop I took it to, they've decided that either the motherboard or the CPU is bad. They're going to strip it down to test it tomorrow, so I guess I'll find out then. At least I know it wasn't that I'd done something stupid! I'm hoping it won't be too much of a hassle to get a replacement for whatever part is faulty...
-
Oh, really? I was planning to get another stick at some point anyway, but didn't realise that it required two to actually be DDR... Thanks for the heads up, I wonder if that could be what's preventing it turning on?

Thanks so much everyone for all your help and advice, it's been invaluable. I went with the following build: Intel - Core i5-8600K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor be quiet! - Shadow Rock Slim 67.8 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler Asus - Prime Z370-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Crucial - 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Seagate - BarraCuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive SeaSonic - 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Phanteks - Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case Asus MX239H 23" IPS HD LED-backlit LCD Monitor and the all important: ASUS GTX 1060 Dual OC 6GB video card. found it in a bundle with the motherboard and a 250GB SSD for about the same price I could have got the mobo and a less good card, so seemed like a good deal! Need an extra cable for the 2nd SSD, so it's not in yet, but it's nice to have an extra. Also it's good to know that games like to run from an SSD, so I'll make sure it's on one! (I do plan to mod pretty heavily...) I put it all together at the weekend, made sure I followed all the precautions re static and so on, used the manuals and online guides and videos, everything went perfectly, except it won't turn on. :wallbash: It's now at the PC repair shop for them to look at because I gave up. The guy there couldn't find anything wrong with it, and had no idea why it wouldn't work, so now we're waiting for their expert to take a look. I'll let you know what happens!

Thanks for the advice! I had a look around at the 980, and they seem to be quite a bit more expensive than the 1050, around £500 compared to £150 for the 1050Ti, so not sure that's an option I'm afraid!

Hi guys! Thanks for all your input so far, it's been helpful. I think I've got most things sussed now, but I'm struggling to decide between the i5-8600k and i7-8700k. I'm mostly going to be gaming (mostly Skyrim), but I will be using a fair amount of mods, and ones with pretty graphics at that. I can't decide if it's worth it to spend the extra on the i7-8700k or not. Some places say yes, some say no, so it's hard to decide. If it helps to know, I'd also like to do my own modding in future, and I'm hoping to both make and run this kind of thing: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14158 as well as lighting and environmental overhauls. I don't know if I'd need something more multi-threaded for rendering purposes, or what, I'm still kinda new to this whole thing. The rest of the set up I'm looking at is this: Seasonic M12II-EVO 620W (80+Bronze, ATX 12V) PSU/Power Supply Be Quiet BK018 Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler Phanteks Enthoo Pro – PC Case – grand-tour Case (Black) Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB 2.5 inch Solid State Drive Crucial CT8G4DFS824A 8 GB (DDR4, 2400 MT/s, PC4-19200, SR x8, DIMM 288-Pin) Memory ASUS Intel 1151 Socket Z370 Chipset Prime A D4 ATX Motherboard - Black Seagate Barracuda 7200 Desktop 1 TB Hard Drive As for the GPU, since the prices are so horrible, I was planning on getting the NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti for now, and then upgrading it later on. So what does anyone think? Does it sound ok/relatively balanced (apart from maybe the graphics card)? WIll the i5-8600k be good enough for my needs, or should I spend more for the i7-8700k?

Thanks everyone for all your help! If anyone out there is in the same boat as me and looking for information about buying or building a PC, try this site: logicalincrements.com - I found them through a random online comment on an article, and the site is really helpful. They even have guides for building for certain games too.

Thanks for the help! I'm in the UK, but I'm assuming there won't be a huge difference in the prices here? Sounds like I've picked an expensive time to switch to PC gaming... Thanks also for the offer of more help, if I decide to build my own I may be back to pick your brains!

Thanks so much, this is just the kind of information I was looking for! I'll make sure whatever I go with has plenty of RAM, and I will look at the microprocessor you mentioned too. Thanks to everyone, your input is helping me make a better decision.
