  1. COULD do it. From what I can tell just wouldn't be practical with the way the game works now. The way animations work (Other than movement, attacking animations) seem to override controls. So if you where to say drink a potion while running a way from a Troll, you'd have to stop running to do so I'd imagen which isn't ideal. Really all depends on how animations work in the creation kit and how they are imported to the game.
  2. I would like to try to make smithing and enchanting a "Secondary" skill.

They don't contribute to the players level, (Or at least significantly less than normal skills.)

Smith/Enchating perks are awarded for reaching certain levels of smithing.

Could also put in a function for blacksmiths to be hired to forge high quality armors if you provide the material and a decent amount of gold. (i.e Dragon, Deadric, Ebony, Glass, Elven)

This should help balance the game by preventing level ups (Causing enemies to get harder) when the majority of your level was invested in a skill that only sort inceases your defense slightly due to upgrading. Maybe put in level requirements to the items to help keep things balanced so you can't grind up to dragon armor when your only level 10 or such.

  3. We all know there will be plenty of people making home mods for Skyrim when it releases. So lets get some voting done to see what sort of homes people are looking for.

I personally want to make a cave based home that would be upgradeable similar to the player home in Whiterun.

I still haven't decided where I would want to put the entrance to the cave. There are so many nice locations!

Feel free to make suggestions to what you'd like in a home mod!

  4. I think Hypotermia just isn't a variable viable effect. UNLESS the function for having a "Warmth" count is possible. Being in water or cold areas reduces warmth which brings on effects like shivering, numbness, frostbite etc etc.

It is pretty out of scope of the original idea. I would do a primary needs for food mod. Have a seperate project and mod for hypotherma. Start small and work your way foward.

  5. I find that the compass, and the markers that come with it, kind of take away from the immersion of the game. I would like to get rid of it but if I turn the HUD opacity all the way down then I can no longer see notifications like skill ups, entrance names, item names, etc. For even more immersion how about a compass item that you actually look at?

I like this idea! Lets add it to our section of Hardcore mods.

  6. I wanted to make a mod that would cause ore veins to respawn but I like this idea better. If I had to guess I'd say that the crafting stations are a type of container activator that can be altered using scripts or interface. It would be very unwise of them to rely on hardcoding every time they needed to make a minor change/addition/deletion from the crafting system. Best way would be to add a new section to smelter called "Salvage" With a list recipei for every basic weapon type. Enchanted weapons/Legendary can't be melted down.
  7. I was wondering if there are any other modders or mod groups that are interested in starting some pre-production planning for Skyrim Mods.

Obviously it is too early to do anything substantial besides planning and theorizing. I think now would be a good time to start getting a list of fellow modders that would be interested in working on a project(s) for Skyrim.

I'm currently interested in doing some base mods, and maybe a Companion/Quest Mod.

  8. Megaman Legends was one of the best 3d RPGs made for the PS1, they made a squeal that left at a cliff hanger!

Now, less than a year after they announced Megaman Legends 3 it was canceled!

I for one will not have the Blue bomber disappear into obscurity!

Visit this facebook page and like it to help support Megaman!

    Save Megaman here!

  9. The best way to achieve this would be to have a non-companion wife/husband.

Could attempt to have a special faction reputation like you have with towns.

Once a day you can speak to the character, if you don't you will lose faction points, and exponentially more if you continue to not speak to them.

Could give gifts like food, or teddy bears, or the like to improve standing.

Could insert random quests to do for spouse, i.e get supplies, save me from raiders.

The hardest part would be all the dialog charting needed to make it work well.

Very plausible and very fun sounding. =D

  10. Would be awesome if its possible to give him a short range flamer, and keep the laser for long range. Similar to a Mr. Handy/Gutsey. Should be pretty streight forward to swap the Unmofified ED-D with the Modified one.

Hopefully there is a talented Modeler that could make him look more armored too.

  11. Been a steam user since I was 16. I have never had any account issues with them. I've let them store my credit card info so I can easily purchase games over 3 years ago, still not one problem.

In fact the ONLY annoyances I have are these three:

A.) I have to wait to 3am Central (12AM Pacific), to be able to install Midnight release games like FNV.

B.) The Front page lags the start up of the steam client a bit.

C.) Retail version of Supream Commander 2 only had 4gs on the disk, I had to Download another 4 before I could play. That was stupidity of the developer however, not steam.

I guess I'll have to pass on FO Vegas, sad but I really don't think its fair after you buy a game to be forced to subscribe to something else you're not interested in in order to activate and play.

    1. Never been interested in online or multiplayer online gaming.

    2. After reading the Steam or Valve subscription agreement seems like they want your information and don't want to accept any responsiblity for security for your account or information.

I've been a fan of Bethesda games since Morrowind but this draws a line I will not cross. So unless another option becomes available Vegas ain't happening for me. And I just upgraded my graphics card to a Geforce GTX 460, so no happy camper here dudes.

Sending my unopened box back to Walmart!

    1. Not like their asking for your Soc Number or a copy of your birth certificate. The info they require any information to sign up it is incredibly basic, I don't think you have to fill most of it out. Even if you do, they don't share it with anyone outside their company. Being a software company who's lively hood depends on their customers trusting them with their info. I'm pretty sure they got their security in check.

    2. I'm sure what ever wording in their agreement is merely to prevent themselves from getting abused by those that might try to take advantage of them.

    Thus:

Sign up for Steam, Install FNV, Enjoy.

  12. Can try F5 to re render the area.

Solution that works best for me is this:

Don't worry about lighting until the scene is 99% finished.

Then when your working on lighting, set the lets, select all move then undo the move and the scene will be lit correctly.

I.e when ever you want to refresh the lighting select the entire scene move, then undo.

  13. SHOULD be doable. Just need to extract the eye patch mesh from the FNV database files. Then make a eyeglasses object using the eye patch. Might be pretty iffy as far as it fitting on a Female.
