  1. Pimpbot I thank you, I downloaded basic ffdshow and it recommended I removed AC3 and Xvid codecs and rebooting before installing ffdshow which I did and I thought I 'd check out Fallout again before installing ffdshow and guess what no stutter at all, I can walk through doorways and get occassional slight stutter which is removable by switching to another station and back again. It seems either AC3 or Xvid are not compatible with Fallout so I'd recommend removing any of these codecs or similar if anyone else is having the same problem.I did have an extra station that changes Agatha's violin music but these were already in mono so no problems there. Again I thank you for putting me on the right track, kudos :thanks:
  2. Cheers for the suggestion but I'm running XP not Vista. Is there anything similar for XP?
  3. Unfortunatly everything mentioned so far hasn't worked for me, I've even upped my cache as you have and no difference noticed. Not a game killer but does take something away from the game atmosphere......oh well.
  4. Updated everything you mentioned (sound drivers and MS update)and still get stutter, I'm beginning to think there's definatly a problem with the game itself as this is the only game I've ever had sound problems with and I can run Oblivion on max settings with no noticable lag. What exactly does ffdshow do and how to use it for fallout and would this be worth trying?
  5. Thanks for the post but still get stuttering, is this problem a known bug in the game itself as I never had this problem with Oblivion and a vast majority of other gamers are having the same issue.
  6. I've checked the last few pages of this forum thread and no-one else has asked so.... I'm having problems with the radio playing music on all radio stations, the songs just constantly stutter while trying to play music but its fine when the DJ is talking, the only fix I've found that works is to press esc to menu and back to game and songs play fine until the next track, I've tried going into AC3 and changing the default audio renderer to use wav out to no avail and I've heard using ffdshow can work for vista but I'm using XP so any tips out there would be appriciated. Please help!
  7. How about a grappling hook so you get to those high points for sniping action. A photo developing kit so you have a reason to collect the camara's you find about.Maybe have locations added to your map from people's holiday snaps or images of the carnage during and after the bomb drops. Mounted trophy heads for your home as you encounter new creatures or enemies. More clothing and armor mods added to wasteland vendors instead of Megaton and Tenpenny Towers shops so the clothing/armor is harder to find, they are special after all so the harder to find the better. Acid rain showers so you have to find cover or burn. Mutated plant life that try to eat you (Day of the Triffids anyone). You should have trouble breathing in the gas filled areas you encounter. Some mini games like pinball machines, play chess with people or cards. Collectable cigarette cards like the collectable cards mod for Oblivion. Cine-eater.
