Mod Manager only uses daimod files?
Silverstarre replied to Booieann's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
Are you using the most recent version of mod manager? Mod manager versions v 0.53 and higher should support both types of mods. When using an older mod that isn't in .daimod format you need to extract the zip/rar file using a program like winzip or winrar, which will create a folder for said mod. You should then place that folder inside your mod folder (do not remove the contents from the created folder) and then merge using mod manager. Once you've merged for the first time, the mod should then pop up in the mod list to the side in the mod manager. I can't think of any mods that would require you to place the folder anywhere other than your mod folder. If you don't mind my asking, what mod (or mods) are you trying to use that's causing you the frustration? -
Patch 9 update - mod issues
Silverstarre replied to vAMT's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
Hi vAMT, With the latest game patch, there are some mods that aren't working at present, even with the latest version of mod manager. Some mods will either require an update from the mod author or an update from the lovely people who created and maintain the mod manager, both of which may take awhile. As things stand now, there are some mods that just won't work. Anything cosmetic such as hair and skin textures should still work no problem (outside of DLC) but anything mod-wise that changes script will be hit or miss. -
Mod Manager won't open please help
Silverstarre replied to destructavic's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
A few questions for you in order to narrow down the problem: 1.) Does your computer have Visual C++ Runtimes and .NET Framework 4 or higher installed on it? Mod manager requires these two programs in order to run. 2.) What OS are you using? Please note that mod manager will not work with a Linux or Mac OS. 3.) Are you using the most recent version of DAI Mod Manager? (v 0.53) 4.) Did you download the mod manager program itself, or did you download it through the DAI Tools Suite? If you didn't download the mod manager with Tools Suite, try downloading the mod manager through that and see if the problem persists. Let us know if any of the above solve the problem/none of the above solve the problem. If none of the above solve the problem, could you possibly list the steps you took to set up mod manager? :) -
Faster Looting Deleted?
Silverstarre replied to VonTenko's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
My guess would be (and I could be wrong here) that the mod author took the mod down for the time being due to the mod not working/having issues with patch 8. Since the most recent version of DAI modding tools was taken down due to some problems and has yet to be fixed, the mod author would not be able to fix any issues that occur with their mod with patch 8. If that's the case, then the mod author probably took the mod down for the time being to avoid people downloading it and then commenting that it doesn't work for them. This is just a theory, though. There are a number of reasons the mod could have been taken down/set to hidden. -
Scars won't show.
Silverstarre replied to ecshane's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
In my experience, scars not showing up in the CC is usually the result of a face/skin texture mod (but not always) I notice you don't have one in your mod list, but you do have HD eye textures installed, which are in the facial area. Try removing the HD eye textures and see if the scars reappear in the CC. If HD eyes is the culprit and you really want to stick with HD eyes, and want your female inquisitor to have a few scars, you could always download the Cassandra face texture available here on the Nexus. :) -
Mods Won't Work
Silverstarre replied to GamerGirl1987's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
Hi GamerGirl, So, first thing: you'll need to get the most recent mod manager in order for mods to work with patch 8 (the most recent game patch). You'll want mod manager v 0.53. I recommend downloading it through the DAI Tools Suite Loader, which will, in the future, let you know when there is an update for mod manager. Once you've gotten mod manager v 0.53 downloaded, you'll want to set up the directory path for the folder where you installed your game (choose the directory path where your actual DAI.exe is, not the shortcut). This goes in the space next to the words "Dragon Age Path" in the mod manager. Next, you'll want to set the directory path to the folder where you are keeping the mods you want to use. This goes into the space next to the word "Mod Path" in the mod manager. After you've set up the mod manager, you are going to hit merge. You no longer need to make a "merged" folder since the newest version of modmanager creates one for you. If the merge was successful, then in your game's update folder, you'll see a folder called "Patch_ModManagerMerged" and inside of the folder you'll see a file called package.mft and a data folder. You should then be set to play your game with mods. If you're still uncertain about the directions, GrimmPrince has a youtube video that walks you through the setup of mod manager. Just make sure you watch the video on GrimmPrince's channel, as he has placed notes in the video where setup directions have changed for the most recent version of modmanager that won't appear on other youtube channels that uploaded the original video. The DAI Modder tumblr page also has step-by-step written directions (with pictures) if you'd rather look at that. Hope this helps! If you're still not certain about a step, just leave another post here. -
Game won't boot with mods
Silverstarre replied to weeviljester's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
Did you download the mod manager program itself, or did you download it through DAI Tools Suite? I highly recommend redownloading mod manager through DAI Tools Suite if you haven't already, if only because you'll have the most updated version of 0.53 (there were two released: one that required a work around in order for the game to work with mods if you had any of the DLC, and one that was released a few days later where the work around was no longer needed) If that's not it, could you list the steps you followed for installing mod manager? -
Game won't boot with mods
Silverstarre replied to weeviljester's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
Hmm....did you, by any chance, create a "merged" folder in your game directory on top of the Patch_ModManagerMerged folder? If so, delete the folder that just says "merged" if you created an additional one. You no longer need to create one yourself with the current mod manager. (it creates the folder for you) Also, are you sure you have the most recent patch? When you highlight the patch in the mod manager, does the text off to the right say version 9 or something else? -
Game won't boot with mods
Silverstarre replied to weeviljester's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
What version of mod manager are you using? Unless you are using mod manager v 0.53 mods will not work with the latest game patch. If that isn't the issue, then I would try repairing your game. Delete your Patch_ModManagerMerged folder, sign into Origins, repair your game, remerge your mods with mod manager and let it create a new Patch_ModManagerMerged folder, and then see if your game runs. If neither of those solutions work, then it could be a mod conflict that's causing the game to glitch. -
Crash on turning in research items
Silverstarre replied to Nemesite's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
To add on to what theskymoves said: if you try to open the Black Emporium's Mirror of Transformation while your character is using a modded face texture, eyes, brows, and/or tattoos, the game can CTD. -
Restore old save data
Silverstarre replied to Nemiga's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
Unfortunately, I don't think there is unless you do it manually before each big decision/choice in game. Each game I have going only has 4 saves (three recent autosaves and one manual) unless I made more myself. -
Can I install mods manually?
Silverstarre replied to VixenViper's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
If there is a way to do it manually, I don't know it. Have you tried downloading DAI Tool Suite 1.0 and downloading the mod manager that way? -
Do any of your armor or animation mods require a specific skeleton?
-
Have you tried re-downloading and extracting again? And what program are you using to extract your files? Also, where are you attempting to extract .NETFramework to?
-
Did you delete the Patch_ModManagerMerged folder completely before repairing and running the game? Also, when you say you disabled the mods: did you remove the mods completely from your mod folder and then merge again, or did you just disable them in mod manager?
-
None of them should be causing a crash, especially since most of them are cosmetic, but everyone's game is different and mods that may work for one person, may not work for another. It's one of the downsides to using mods, even though mods are awesome. My guess would be that it's one of the mods that changes the game's scripts. Have you tried removing the mods that change scripts (assuming that the crash doesn't occur once you've removed all of those mods) and adding them back in one by one to find the culprit? It could be only one of them, or it could be that it's a combination of two of the mods that's causing the error. It's a time consuming process, but the only thing I can think of that might help in solving your issue.

modmanager error
Silverstarre replied to Shacary's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
You still have a few mods that are incompatible: 1.)You can only have one eyebrow mod. Choose either the male or the female option (you can't have both as each mod replaces the brows for all races and genders) Either remove the eyebrows 4 men or eyebrows 4 women mod. 2.)The side cut and wedge bob hair mods both replace the same character creator hair. Choose one and remove the other. 3.)The TEETH mod is incompatible with custom face textures unless it's order is moved to below the custom texture you are using in game. Even so, some people on the comments section of the mod have reported some issues with using it. It's a wonderful mod, but maybe try disabling it for now and see if that helps? 4.)You have a bunch of eye mods installed (HD Eyes, speckled eyes, etc) Choose one and remove the rest. Once you've removed the extras, merge with mod manager again and then try running the game. Let me know if it works! -
Do you still get the error if you uninstall any FX and/or ENB mods?

mods not working for me
Silverstarre replied to itskitt's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
When you go into your game directory and look in the updates folder, do you see a folder titled Patch_ModManagerMerged? Inside of this folder there, should be a data folder and a file called package.mft...if nothing is there or the Patch_ModManagerMerged folder is empty, then the mods didn't merge correctly. However, since you didn't mention encountering any errors, I'm assuming everything merged just fine. If the mods did merge correctly, when you open mod manager and highlight the patch file, does the information off to the left hand side say version 9? If not, the problem may be that you don't have the most recent patch for the game, and so the mods aren't showing up. When you sign into Origins and go to your games library, right click on the image for Dragon Age Inquisition. You should get a drop down menu. One of the options is to update the game. Click on update and see if the game updates anything. I don't see any mods that would conflict, so I don't think that's the issue. Let me know if any of the above work or not. Good luck! -
Have you tried downloading the Developer Pack for 4.5.2 from Microsoft?

modmanager error
Silverstarre replied to Shacary's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
First, are you using Mod Manager v 0.53? In order for mods to work with patch 8, you need that version of mod manager. Check this first before reading on. :) Otherwise, it's one of three things, and I tried to list things from easiest to hardest: 1.)There is still a conflicting mod I didn't see in the list above that needs to be removed. 2.)Mod Manager's Dragon Age directory isn't set up correctly to go to where your game file is located 3.)You need to do a repair of the game (use GrimmPrince's tutorial for how to do this) -
modmanager error
Silverstarre replied to Shacary's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
Just to clarify: If you're going into the "Updates" folder and looking at the Patch folder inside of it, you won't see a patch, you'll see a package.mft and a data folder. The lack of anything in your Patch_ModManagerMerged is because you have yet to successfully merge anything into the game. You should only see one patch in your Mod Manager. If you see more than one, something is wrong. If you don't see any when you open up mod manager, then something wasn't set up right. As I mentioned above, if you're struggling with getting mod manager to work, I highly recommend watching GrimmPrince's tutorial on youtube. -
modmanager error
Silverstarre replied to Shacary's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
If you need more help with setup, GrimmPrince has a tutorial for setting up mod manager on Youtube. I highly recommend watching it if it's your first time installing the mod manager as he talks you through each step of the installation process. It's a little outdated, but he has popups in the video where things have changed. If you still can't get things working after that, just post another message here. Good luck! -
modmanager error
Silverstarre replied to Shacary's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
You have a very extensive list of mods. While there is nothing wrong with having a lot of mods (I have quite a few myself) you also have a lot of mods that conflict with each other, which is, at least partially, why you're getting errors. I may not have caught everything in your list, but after going over it briefly, these are the mods I found that are incompatible: 1.) Remove one of your Dalish Mohawk Hair mods from your mod folder. You cannot use both versions at the same time. 2.) Remove 1 of the SK_EM_sideswept hair mods from your mod folder. You can only use 1 length at a time since they both use the same hair base. 3.)Choose only one of the eyebrow packs. Male, Female, Light, Dark all replace the same eyebrows regardless of what gender you're going to play in game. Choose the one you like best and remove the rest from your mods folder. 4.)The Katherine, Calpernia, and Mira Skin textures all replace the same female complexion base. That means you can only use 1 at a time. Remove the over 2 you don't want to use from your mod folder. 5.)Lush Lashes and Improved lashes cannot be used at the same time. Choose only 1 of these and remove the other one from your mod folder. 6.)Use only 1 of the MRM_Dorian files (Unless one of them is a fix and you were instructed on the mod page to use both) 7.)Use only 1 version of the revised Qunari Mohawk. Remove the other from your mod folder. Once you've removed all of the mods that are incompatible with each other, try merging again. If it is still giving you errors, then there may be a problem with how mod manager was installed. Please check below and make sure you followed these steps when installing: 1.) DL Mod Manager and extract the file into a folder called "Mod Manager" (or any name of your choice, really) 2.) Create another new folder called "Mods" (Do not place mods directly in your mod manager folder) 3.) Place the mods (.dai or the extracted zip mod folders) you plan on using into your created mod folder 4.) When opening mod manager, it will ask you to locate your game executable. Locate the directory where your game file (not the shortcut) is being kept. 5.)Once that is done. Hit the browse button above that and locate your mod folder directory. 6.)Hit merge on the mod file. 7.) If everything installed properly, then you should see a folder called "Patch_ModManagerMerged" in the Updates Folder of your game directory. Inside of that folder you should see a package.mft file and a data folder. Please also check that you have only one patch file showing up in your mod manager and that the patch file that you see says "version 9". Please let us know if you get the problem solved and don't be afraid to post again if the above solutions don't work! Hope you manage to get things working! -
You may also want to try moving the unofficial patches in your load order to loading after the esm for Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn. I'm pretty sure (but not 100%) that esm mods need to load before any esp mods.
