There was a mod in FNV that added this and I loved it. People don't realize scopes are quite situational IRL meaning you actually don't use them once an enemy gets too close or move into a position where they may be closer. A iron sight is still there on guns for a reason. Barrels were pretty situational as well. I mean they had a man for carrying the LMG barrels back in WW1 and 2. Being able to take of certain mods on the fly creates a more realistic game setting and could create a more tactical experience.

disable auto reloading when switching weapons
SomethingCrazy replied to BoromiRofGeo's topic in Fallout 4's Mod Ideas
I really hate this mechanic as well. It's killed the tension of many firefights in my game. It also makes carrying a backup melee weapon useless as you can just switch back to your previous gun. -
My modding experience is extremely limited other then using them but I was wondering if there's a tutorial somehow on how to change the BGM in F4. Google so far has only given tutorials on radio music which I'm not interested in. I want to change the ambient or combat music. No real changes on how or when they play, just simply replace them. Any help?

Can't reinstall mods properly with NMM?
SomethingCrazy replied to SomethingCrazy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I just figured it out. You simply right click whichever mod, select uninstall and it will give you 3 options on how (Uninstall from active profile, uninstall from all profile, delete mod.) Select uninstall from active profile and it will allow you to reinstall with the pop-up installer again. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3229304-060-scripted-installers-multiple-choices/ -
If I uninstall a mod, it gets a red circle with a line through it beside the name. Once I reinstall the mod, it simply reinstalls it without letting me choose any modules the mod might have. For example, I uninstalled CoT because the torches were far too bright, I reinstalled it so I can pick a different module but it just puts everything back the way it was without letting me choose anything. Anyway to get around this?

Currently the settlements, settlers, and the way the are managed is quite bad at best. We really need some mods that atleast tweak some things here. Here's a few suggestions. Supply lines sharing: As of now, the supply lines seem to only share the junk category (not sure if confirmed) and only(?) while in build mode (meaning you can't take them from a workshop.) This should be changed to simply share items within every category and able to access them via workshops too. Supply line management: Recently I tried to fix my supply lines as they were everywhere and I couldn't tell what was connected to what, who was and wasn't connected, or where my provisioners were at a given time. It made it extremely frustrating to to fix them. Some sort of menu screen to see what settlements are connected where and being able to change the given route from said menu instead of either waiting or tracking the provisioner down. Settlers names: We need something to rename settlers, give them a title(guard, farmer, shop owner), or at the very least, randomly generated names so we can tell who's who. Assignments: We also really need some sort of way to better tell which settlers are assigned to what. The current glowing thing is just horrible. Maybe as mentioned above, just a simple title as a prefix or suffix from the name. Possibly even a menu to see who's doing what. Friendly fire isn't: During several attacks on my settlements, I would accidentally either shoot a settler or they may be too close to a thrown explosive (or the may even run into the explosive/mine while a enemy steps on it) which would cause the entire settlement to attack me afterwards calling for me to reload my game. I suggest either making them straight up immune to the PC's attacks, ignore any damage they take (even fatalities), or turning friendly fire off during settlement attacks. I realize these may be a little much without the creation kit and that most of these are asked for several times a day but I wanted to try and compile any mod idea's involving settlements in one place. Anything I missed or you feel like adding, just comment here.

[Mod Needed] Reposition dialog options to column.

Really REALLY need this mod. The settlements although cool, have a horrid UI design.

I'm going to assume that this will be a feature with most companion overhauls once they come out. As for now, here's my workaround. Just use console commands to add ammo then give it to them. I give them 5000 each. Kind of annoying but it works. https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3s8lr8/fallout_4_item_ids/ ID's for most/all ammo types. Tilde key for commands, player.additem [iD number] [amount]

I would like to see this come back as well. It should eventually though.

With the player character now having a voice, what does this mean for future quests mods and modders? What potential workarounds could we expect? Do you agree with Bethesda's choice with adding a voice to the player character? Just curious as to what everyone else thinks of this. Personally I think they did a good job on the voice acting for the male PC (haven't tried the female) but I think it's a mistake. I feel the voice projects too much of a specified character on you and really dumbs down the dialogue in general. Props to Brian Delaney though, he did a great job overall. I'm really unsure how this will affect any mods where the PC may enter dialogue with another character. What are your thoughts on this?

Unlimited Ammo for Follower/Settler
SomethingCrazy replied to Catses's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Settlers need ATLEAST 1 type of which ammo their weapon uses though of they won't use it. But other then that, it does seem like settlers have infinite ammo. I've had a few switch back to their pipe pistols after awhile though. Dunno if it's a bug or what. -
Real "How to TCL" - no collision settlement building
SomethingCrazy replied to dukemordred's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I found out recently that if you place an item on a rug and pick up the rug, it will move the object(s) with it. Doing this uses the rugs collision instead of said item(s), allowing you to clip things into each other quite easily. Then just TAB to store the rug and get it out from underneath. If you scrap it, you'll lose most of the mats required to build it. The tcl can be useful for some items, but for decorations or junk fences I use the rug. -
I was wondering what scaling stopper mods there are? I personally think enemies and the world scaling with you in any game is pretty immersive breaking and kinda lame. I'm currently using Skyrim Scaling Stopper but it seems to have been abandoned (however it still works, just doesn't support new versions on certain mods) and is no longer completely compatible with my current load order. So any new suggestions? Also forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this.

This looks really great and the new creatures look amazing. Can't wait to try it out.

Just Migrated to PC - Need Some Mod Advice
SomethingCrazy replied to MagnusOpium's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
As for the NMM just go to the Nexus site and click the button that says "Install NMM version (whatever)" at the top of the site page. As for the lighting mods, I've never had any problems with them but its best to ask on the mod page or the author. And as for ENBs, I've never used one but most of them state what kind of rig they're sorta kinda meant for or if they're performance friendly. -
Just do other random quests or go explore anything of interest. One thing Bethesda does right in my opinion is giving points or interest for you to explore so leveling just comes naturally and you don't have to grind like most games have you do. (Not to say their leveling system is good though.)

Forgive me if I'm wrong but you seem to think everyone has the same likes as you do. I myself, don't find two handed weapons/playthroughs to be much fun but really enjoy sneaking around. I've played a pure mage once or twice before as well and loved it all the same without any mods. So maybe magic just isn't your cup or tea.

Now that I think about it, I don't think Bethesda does many plot twists unfortunately. I love playing games and worrying of what might happen to you or another character you've become attached to. Not knowing if they'll die or betray for some extra money or something. Bethesda doesn't build many relationships between the PC and NPCs in their games as far as I know which is a shame. When most characters die or I betray them is some way (and this includes other titles besides TES) I'm just like "Well, was nice knowing ya."

Something that's noteworthy is the Skyrim Stability Project. Make sure you check it out as it will minimize future headaches.

Your Proudest Achievements in Skyrim?
SomethingCrazy replied to AgentChieftain's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Not really an achievement but a very rewarding moment none the less was getting to kill that talking dog after returning him to his master (Barbette I think his name was.) I was so relieved to finally have him gone. -
Why I Think The Empire Is Right
SomethingCrazy replied to CryptsOfTheDead's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Although you make some good points, reason 5 seems a little...wrong? I dunno the word I'm looking for but as far as I know there's no proof that Ulfric "murdered" him. Sure there was a duel and it may not of been to the death, which would technically count as a murder, but he was getting his point across that he and his followers were not afraid to take serious action into their own hands. As for the part in the beginning where his mouth is tied, why wouldn't they do that? It would be like arresting someone with a gun but not taking away their gun. But aside from that you make some good points. -
LE Stormcloaks and Legion fight over forts(at random)
SomethingCrazy replied to jesterskull25's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
There is Immersive Patrols which does something similar to this. And if by "Civil war mod" you mean warzones then that's out dated. But Civil War Overhaul is a good mod to try out as well. Both CWO and Immersove Patrols are compatible I THINK. -
I know this isn't what you were looking for and I'm not trying to hijack but I think it would be awesome if followers acted more like pawns from Dragons Dogma, atleast with the whole "death" thing. When knocked down you have to help them up within a certain timeframe or they die but in DD you can always revive them afterwards as they're not actually constricted to the laws of our realm and just get sent back to the rift. Anyway I think something similar to that would be very cool.

From a newcomer - is there an all-in-one mod
SomethingCrazy replied to Pbendix's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The Gopher Beginner's Guide to Skyrim modding is a VERY good place to start. With these tutorials you can hardly go wrong. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE7DlYarj-DdhDG41roBVJfNCqvO5MmKP Gophers youtube channel will give A LOT if not the most information about how to start becoming a very safe and stable mod USER (not modder). He also showcases alot of mods on his channel and describes them in detail. From bugs they may have to how to safely use them and even suggestions to the mod authors sometimes. Also make sure you have BOSS to sort your load order and give you valuable information like missing required mods, incompatibilities between mods you have and if any mods you have are "dirty". Clean your mods with TES5edit. SKSE is recommended but not a must. Most mods have it as a requirement though. BOSS - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6 TES5Edit - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859 SKSE - http://skse.silverlock.org/ A little confusing at first but you'll get the hang of it all. If the nexus seems a little to big at first just use the "categories" button on the top right side of the page and go to "most endorsed" or "most downloaded". Most of these mods will be rather stable (doesn't mean they're all be compatible though) and IMO are quite good. Once your more used to everything just run around the Nexus site searching for whatever you want.
