The human eye registers, I believe, around 24 frames per second as smooth. Unless you have Superman eyes, you probably won't be able to tell much difference. I may just be an exception, but I don't notice when my FPS drops from 60 to around 30 in CPU-heavy areas.

Blame Microsoft for Dragonborn's delayed release. It's not Bethesda's fault they have to cater to consoles that gaming PCs outstrip enormously. Hearthfire is entirely optional as it brings almost no content, and that which it does there are mods for. Loose plot elements are probably being saved for future DLC - which won't have the 1-month delay. I will agree that some areas were lazy, e.g. you should have been able to put your foot down with the Blades about Paarthurnax, but Skyrim is an enormous game. P.S. It's Hammerfell, not Hammerfall.

Do These "Performance Enhancing" Mods Really Work,
ilikecheese1337 replied to KlinkKlink's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Can't vouch for any others, but I do know ATTK Power Loader works - it increases Skyrim's priority and decreases that of other programs, and also does some other clever things. -
^ I vastly favour Realistic Lighting with Customisation. The nights are realistically dark, and CoT, in my opinion, looks too washed out. Also try IMAGINATOR visual control (compatible with just about everything) and, if you like, an ENB of your choice (I dislike ENBs - finicky to install/uninstall, performance impacting, and often incompatible with other mods.) The Multiple Commandments of Modding

Deadly Dragons AND Deadly Dragons - Armoury: Makes dragons powerful and terrifying, not weaklings whom Dovahkiin goes through like tissue paper, and adds new dragons with interesting new shouts - see how Storm Call feels from the other side.. Configurable from ingame, depending on whether you want a slight challenge increase or insane difficlulty. Armoury makes them drop cool stuff. Apocalypse Spell Package AND Phenderix Magic Evolved Both mods are quite similar in that they add interesting and powerful new spells to make playing a mage far more fun, especially at higher levels. Apocalypse in particular adds some extremely useful utility spells like Floating Bridge, Feather Fall and Almalexia's Grace. The Paarthurnax Dilemma Lets you make a moral choice in a quest. HERE BE SPOILERS: As part of the main quest you meet a dragon who, following the Way of the Voice, repented from his service to Alduin, saved the collective backsides of mortalkind, has spent the last few thousand years meditating to overcome his nature and helps you kill Alduin, saving the world again The Blades, dragonslayers sworn to your service, tell you to kill him. This mod lets you tell them just where they can stick their genocide. HERE END SPOILERS

I have the same issue, incredibly annoying because it's such a great program. The author is apparently releasing a version with a GUI soon, so hopefully that'll work, but for now try right-clicking and selecting troubleshoot (if it says can't find attk.ini then you have my problem), and making certain that the installer installs to your skyrim folder. For some bizarre reason, the installers from version 3.3 onwards default to installing to Program Files>Steam>steamapps>common>skyrim, whereas your Skyrim may be installed to Program Files (x86)>... Good luck - it really does work very well if and when you get it running; I'm using an old version until I can make the new one work.

Hype machine: Apocalypse Spell Package 3.0 incoming
ilikecheese1337 replied to EnaiSiaion's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Sounds amazing. Very much looking forward to 3.0. -
SMIM Static Mesh Improvement Mod - graphical, yes, but necessary. Round things are now round. Deadly Dragons - dragons are now killing machines. Phenderix Magic Evolved AND Apocalypse Spell Package - magic is no longer underpowered. Realistic Lighting with Customisation - makes light look very nice and weather also gets a boost. WATER Water and Terrain Enhancement Redux - improves water n IMAGINATOR - allows you to customise, from ingame, things like colour, saturation, contrast, brightness, bloom etc.
-
If you're usin Deadly Dragons, look at the Assault section (Events in older versions).

How is the water in Jeir's Project ENB screenshot so clear and lifelike? My W.A.T.E.R. water is always blue.

For your specific requests, try Better Females (includes optional files for makeup etc), ApachiiSkyHair and the Eyes of Beauty (you need an optional file(s) if you want the eyes for your player and/or have Dawnguard). I believe a user called Xenius has a character enhancement package mod whose name I'm unsure of. General mods (my opinion of the "must-haves"): Skyrim HD: Better textures than Bethesda's official HD DLC. Realistic Lighting With Customisation: Exactly what it says on the tin. W.A.T.E.R Water and Terrain Enhancement Redux: Water looks much nicer. SMIM Static Mesh Improvement Mod Improves object's meshes (3D shapes) so that potatoes and tomatoes are rounder without jagged edges, circular door handles are circular, ropes look like ropes and everything looks much nicer. Sounds small, but when you remove it you see how terrible some things look without it. If you get one of these mods, get this. Deadly Dragons: For being apocalyptic, legendary, semi-mythical Aedra (probably), dragons sure are weak. Deadly Dragons makes them terrifying killing machines. The Paarthurnax Dilemma: Allows you to make a more moral choice in a quest than the game normally allows. HERE BE SPOILERS A dragon who renounced Alduin helps you save the world (again) and the Blades, a group of dragonslayers sworn to your service, order you to murder him. This mod lets you tell them where they can stick their genocide. HERE END SPOILERS Phenderix Magic Evolved AND Apocalypse Spell Package: These two mods add hundreds of new, balanced spells. Extremely fun to play. Happy modding.

I cant get skse to work help!!!!!!!!&#
ilikecheese1337 replied to JMH98MUFC's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
SKSE isn't a mod, so installing it with NMM won't work. Get rid of it from NMM and use the video by Gopher. Note: you can in fact use NMM to install SKSE's scripts, just not SKSE itself. Installing the scripts with NMM is good in case you have a problem and have to uninstall SKSE. -
The College of Winterhold - Arcanaeum door problem
ilikecheese1337 replied to klauzik's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You could try pulling it up in the CK and re-doing the teleport function I guess. -
I'd make a new character. Seriously immersion-breaking to be saving the world and giving out sweets one minute and cackling madly and torturing people the next.

Best In Slot (YouTube name ForAdventure)'s tutorials on YouTube are pretty good for absolute newbies like me.

If you specifically want to furnish that cell, then just pull it up in the Creation Kit (free download for anybody with the PC version of Skyrim) and put your crafting tables, light sources etc. where you want them. To get you started in the Creation Kit try reading through the beginner's tutorial on the Creation Kit wiki - what you want to do is essentially what is called cluttering, covered in I think tutorial three, but read number one first to get a grounding in how it works. If you want to be able to place things in any cell while playing the game, I don't think there's a mod for that (if there isn't, why not suggest it?) but there is a mod that lets you customise the placement of clutter in your house which I cannot find for the life of me. I'll keep looking and edit this post if I find it. EDIT: Found it, it's called "Placeable Statics - Move Anything". Google it, first result below the videos. Also, forgot to mention this - if you do use the CK to edit your cell, make sure you set the mod with the cell as the active file instead of making a new file. Weird stuff happens if you don't.

Looking for performance mods
ilikecheese1337 replied to DarkstarDesigns's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I recall that the Skyrim HD - 2K Textures mod is 2-4x the HD DLC resolution. Then you can get the Realistic Lighting With Customisation mod to make lighting better, and any number of post-process injectors and lighting ENBs to customise the look of the game. -
No, but your friendly neighbourhood court wizard will be happy to whip you up some skincare and makeup potions.
-
This mod coming to fruition would make my day. Maybe the Blades could attack you once you've set up the group? I would dearly love to rain death from above on a bandit camp from dragonback. P.S. Will this mod be compatible with Deadly Dragons?
-
Exactly; realism is certainly not everything. In Skyrim you can kill a man in full plate armour with an iron dagger if you reall want to - because you're the freakin' Dovahkiin, that's why. I have a version of Better Females installed because female faces have always just bugged me a little, like they're just a little bit off compared to the male faces which are good. I have ApachiiSkyHair but only use the sensible-looking hair. I wouldn't touch things like CBBE with a ten-foot bargepole, though. There are points at which immersion is defenestrated if you have characters who look like they're deliberately trying to look ridiculous. Hygiene and looks-wise, in my opinion Skyrim should have people in much better condition than the real Middle Ages - you can cure any disease with a potion or (with mods) a spell and an expert healer can brin people from the brink of death. Skyrim, for me, should feel like a cross between real-life Vikings' Valhalla, Narnia and Middle Earth, with a bunch of dark stuff thrown in for interest. Note: my Arch-Mage wears full Dragonplate Armour, because robes are for wimps and no good when Average Joe Draugr decides his axe would look nice in your face.

Abuse my computer - Looking for some crazy mods
ilikecheese1337 replied to ArtMurder's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Deadly Dragons AND Deadly Dragons-Armory: Adds new dragons and makes dragons actually dangerous and fun to fight - in the vanilla game they're ridiculously weak for being apocalyptic mythic killing machines. You can customise the difficulty for yourself ingame. Castle Grey: Who doesn't like massive castles to call their own? Realistic Lighting with Customisation: Makes light much more realistic, with dark nights and dungeons, bright days and sunlight, and in the next update better and more varied weather. Comes with a realistic snow mod. Enhanced Night Skyrim: Stargazing FTW. WATER water and terrain enhancement redux: Makes water look better. Phenderix Magic Evolved AND Apocalypse Spell Package (different mod authors): Better and more powerful spells. Phenderix also has the Skyrim School of Witchcraft and Wizardry mod which is heavily influenced by Harry Potter. I find it immersion-breaking, but many like it. The Paarthurnax Dilemma: MINOR SPOILER ALERT: In the Main Quest, a dragon who spent centuries meditating to overcome his inborn evil nature helps you. The remaining members of a dragonslaying order demand you kill him. This mod lets you tell them where to stick it and carry on with the dragonslaying group's quests. MINOR SPOILER ENDS. Ultimate Follower Overhaul: Expands Skyrim's follower system and let's you have more than 1 follower. If you have Castle Grey as well, don't use the UFO horses, it causes conflicts. SkyUI: Skyrim's user interface was designed for consoles. This mod makes the UI much easier to use on PC, but requires Skyrim Script Extender, which is free but is not from Nexus so sometimes a bit of a hassle to download. aMidianBorn Book of Silence: HD armour. Frostfall hypothermia camping survival: Makes the cold affect you so you have to wear warm armour, make fire etc. Imp's More Complex Needs: You have to eat, drink and sleep a certain amount and different food has different effects on you.
