  1. Some of these have probably been done:

    972. Being the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood is the easiest job within the entire guild. And you get paid for it!

    973. The King of Worms is perhaps the most fearsome necromancer in history, but he is weaker than the other necromancers and minions he commands (doubly so if you use OOO and have to fight Spectral Reavers...)

    974. It's totally cool to dump every single item you own into the middle of the street.

    975. Being the Archmage is apparently a hair-graying job if Traven is any indication, yet the player has literally no duties when (s)he becomes Archmage.

    976. No one notices how easily the Grand Champion is beaten if you do his side quest. You literally beat him down while he cheers you on and no one bats an eye.

    977. Twenty people can sound like three hundred in Cyrodiil's arena. Those must be some crazy-good sound engineers. On that note, megaphones apparently exist in Cyrodiil.

    978. The Blades don't care if their members work for illegal organizations, refuse to wear actual Blades gear even at ceremonies (or appropriate clothing in general), have a criminal record larger than that of the Gray Fox himself, or decide that the best time to do some random, inane side quest is during a demonic invasion that threatens the world.

    979. No one cares if you're a race they've never even heard of, or, indeed, if you're a freaking DREMORA who looks like Mehrunes Dagon incarnate and wears gear that would make the Lich King of Azeroth himself weep in envy.

    980. "Daedric" gear is somehow stronger than Dremora gear despite them quite clearly being the same thing.

    981. Weapons in Tamriel weigh about 8x as much as they do on Earth. This is despite the fact that gravity on Tamriel is apparently equivalent to that of Luna. (A 92 pound warhammer? WTF? That's like being required to bench press every time you take a swing!)

    982. It is possible to suddenly discover that you're carrying too much and can't move if you pick a flower.

    983. Tamriel follows the Law of Inversely Proportional Armor - the less you wear, the more armor rating you have!

    984. Being a mage in Tamriel is quite dull, considering how few things you can actually do with magic that don't involve killing stuff and considering how much research and scientific study is required.

    985. Guards and soldiers in Tamriel were apparently trained by Leeroy Jenkins.

    986. It is possible for a Frost Titan to suddenly spawn inside of the Tiber Septim Hotel (not kidding about this one, I walked into the Tiber Septim Hotel, heard the battle music start up, had barely enough time to turn to my right and say "WTF" before getting punched for 2/3 of my health, and hightailed it out of there to let the guards take him on - it killed approximately half of the guards in the city and ate most of my arrows).

    987. The singular version of "daedra" is "daedroth." So why doesn't the crocodile-esque Daedroth have a name?

    988. One person in Cyrodiil designs everyone's clothes. No seriously, she's the owner of Divine Elegance.

    989. It is possible to wear full plate armor and still run faster than a horse; it's also possible to wear full plate armor and move as if you're stuck in jello.

    990. All but the player character have the knowledge to magically construct arrows and fire them infinitely.

    991. Buying the smallest shack in the poorest part of the Imperial City will cost you more than the average citizen makes in a lifetime.

    992. Walking diagonally is not physically possible in Cyrodiil or Morrowind during the events of the Oblivion Crisis - it will only be discovered centuries later in Skyrim, of all places.

    993. Homosexuals do not exist in Tamriel (barring a certain Fighters' Guild scene and mods). Neither do courtesans or, indeed, brothels...

    994. There are more fort ruins in Cyrodiil than there are guards to man them. In fact, there are fewer than 5 intact forts in the entire nation (barring Unique Landscapes).

    995. Magical gear costs a fortune yet it is incredibly common. Also, people see nothing wrong with the fact that nearly all (or all, if sigil stones work the same way) magical items contain a living being's soul, trapped forever.

    996. Nobody cares if you are a necromancer or a conjurer, not even if you're the Archmage of the Mages' Guild, which just got rid of a necromancer invasion. Actually, let me rephrase that - YOU got rid of a necromancer invasion. Lazy little spellflingers...

    997. Everybody suddenly knows if you're the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood but nobody does anything about it (disposition drops almost universally).

    998. Musicians do not exist in Cyrodiil.

    999. Ayleids had a terrible sense of style - just look at their armor...

    1000. Sheogorath is awesome.

Edit: Removed comment to make people move on past 1000 already.

  2. How good is your processor? It might be good by reasonable standards, but if it gets its power from using multiple cores...Oblivion doesn't use multicore, which means that one powerful single-core will work better.

Just a shot in the dark.

  3. All of those things I listed are shaders that OBGE can use (they all end in .fx). You can use any combination by creating a file named shaderlist.txt in the Oblivion/data/shaders folder and listing them. It's not at all necessary to use them if you don't want the extra hassle, though.
  4. The AA thing working! You, my lady, are a genius xDD If I could throw more kudos to you I would, disabling the AA did the trick, no more of that junk you see in that pic lol Sweet! Now time to edit those files to set the properties right for DR and HOPEFULLY no more issues :D

My lady? Wow, does typing with correct spelling and grammar make me female over the internet? Anyway, wow that is one F'd up glitch, and that was the first time I've seen the AA thing glitch up more than usual (much, much, much more than usual...) Glad it's working. :)

By the way, some tips about OBGE: To compensate for no AA, use the NormalFilterAA.fx shader (may have to edit it a bit to make it look not-so-blurry, but it certainly looks nice). Use obsharpen.fx to make everything look...well...sharper, as if you had some super high-resolution textures (I recommend setting it to 5 or 6 to compensate for the blurry AA). I also would recommend godrays.fx but it sometimes bugs out with nighteye, which is luckily easily fixed by temporarily disabling godrays, saving, then re-enabling it. To make the lighting on the game look really impressive aka not as cartoonish and video-gamey use either ColorEffects (will require some tweaking) or ENBColorEffect (I use the former but either works). SSAO looks nice (unless it's foggy) but causes framerate drops sometimes (Ring_SSAO and Volumetric_SSAO are relatively fast however). Depth of Field is nice (I personally don't like the extra blurriness though) but it gets annoying if you play in 3rd person.

All these are from the optional separate shader pack by the way.

  5. AA is anti-aliasing, found under video options (you may have to disable it outside the game). OBGE flat out does not work with it on - it will disable the options on the main menu to prevent you from accessing the game and making it flip out even more.

Edit: Also, here's a random thought - do you have Better Cities? I recall that it and DR do not get along well.

Edit2: Disregard that last edit, considering that I'm not entirely certain on that.

Edit3: After browsing through comments, it's mentioned that the bloodsplatters in Deadly Reflex (the part that requires OBGE) can cause CTDs...so I wouldn't recommend using that particular ESP. If all else fails, you can just skip using OBGE.

  6. After browsing through the new OBGEv3 stuff, it looks like it's more than a bit buggier than OBGEv2 was (and that's saying something).

Make sure that you've put all of the core files into the Data folder. I don't see how OBGE can cause the interface to screw up so badly, as I've never seen such or heard of it.

Edit: I can't believe I didn't ask this earlier, but do you have AA on? It doesn't work with OBGE.

Edit2: Also, could you explain exactly what the issue is or provide a screenshot? Does the problem ONLY occur when you enable OBGE? It seems like this topic has been meandering a bit and some clarification could be useful.

  7. using the obse launcher what does "with" or "without" are these refering to the mods?

Can you uninstall the Hud Status Bars temporarily to see if that helps any?

Better yet, just uninstall anything related to Deadly Reflex and see if the problem persists.

Edit: By perfectly, do you mean no missing meshes, etc.?

  8. I edited my comment above, and all mods are currently off so it has to be one of these plugin add ons, right?

Yes, but plugins aren't the only mods that don't have ESP files (meshes, textures, etc.) If possible, can you uninstall via OBMM any mods that won't be too much hassle to reinstall? (body mods, etc.)

Edit: This may be a bit overkill, but baby steps are essential in troubleshooting.

Edit2: Get rid of OBGE for now and worry about that later once you've fixed the real issues at hand.

Edit3: So I just read the install requirements for DR6...jeez that's one complex mod. Here's a basic but essential question - have you used an older version of Deadly Reflex before, and if so, did you uninstall it completely?

Edit4: See if you can get it to run without the HUD Status Bars, seeing as it's not required - that may fix the invisible HUD, at least.

  9. th one in the data/plugin folder?

Are you using OBSE? My plugins folder is located with data/obse/plugins. But yes, that one. (I may be giving misinformation here due to OBGE apparently having been very recently updated...)

Edit: The HUD mod there is probably what's making your screen invisible.

Edit2: NifSE specifically says to use Beta 2 when using Deadly Reflexes. Did you get Beta 3 (aka 1.0) instead?

Edit3: The 1st person legs mod says that your character may turn invisible when wearing rings + gloves due to an OBSE limitation.

Edit4: I think the main problem here is simply installing too much at one time. Can you try uninstalling the mods and putting them back on one bit at a time to find the culprit here? You're having a lot of issues at one time on your game it seems.

  10. I personally have never heard of installing OBGE using Bash at all (although I barely use Bash, so...), but it runs perfectly fine with a manual install and it is easy to deactivate (just move or delete the obge.dll and it'll stop working).

Oh, also, personal tip, add another folder in data (or somewhere else, to be safer) to store unused shader files, not sure if the game still loads those not on the shaderlist but I believe it does, just doesn't use them.

Edit: What version of OBGE are you using? Is the downloaded compressed file called OBGE core? The shaders are found on the tesnexus page I believe - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30054 . It's called OBGE Standalone Effects (looks like a brand new version, by the way).

  11. Does DR actually require Bash?

I use Windows 7 and have no issue with Bash, but I don't seem to have the over-aggressive Windows security on my computer either. It's recommended that you install Oblivion outside of Program Files if you have issues with Windows Vista/7 doing that kind of thing.

  12. OBGE requires special installation, i.e. you don't just dump it entirely under Data. Let's see if I dig up the help documents to find the installation...

First, do you have both the OBGE core AND the shaders pack? They tend to be separately downloaded.

Second, do you have OBSE installed, plus updated DirectX drivers? (The latter tends to be a given, but you never know.)

Here's what the doc says on installing it:

" 1. If you have obge.dll or DepthTest.dll in your Data/OBSE/plugins folder, remove them.

    2. Extract the contents of the OBGEv2 Core package to your Oblivion\Data directory. Answer yes to any merge or overwrite prompts.

The files in the "Extras" folder are:

    * d3dx9_31.dll - If you are using the legacy compiler and your game crashes, move this to your Oblivion game folder.

    * d3dx9_41.dll - If when you launch Oblivion, the shaders you have applied have no visible effect, and your OBGEv2.log reports that this file is missing, move it to your Oblivion game folder.

    * textures and shaders folders - These contain some example shaders that can be useful in testing that OBGEv2 works and are also useful examples for writing shaders. You don't need to install them to use OBGEv2."

If you're using a mod that requires OBGE (like Realistic Health) you'll have to rename the OBGEv2.dll to just plain obge.dll so it'll recognize that it's there.

There should be a "shaders" folder in Oblivion/data now. In that folder should be all the OBGE shaders, plus maybe a few others from Oblivion and other mods. Create a txt file (easiest with notepad), name it shaderlist, and then type in each shader file you want to use (including the .fx extension). For example, mine looks like this:

    obsharpen.fx

    NormalFilterAA.fx

    ColorEffects.fx

    godrays.fx

I would advise against using redundant shaders, like multiple SSAO effects.

I know that a lot of that was a bit far ahead and maybe unrelated to the problem, but it helps to have as much info as possible both in the problem and in the solution.

Edit: Wow, I must've taken a long time to type that. It sounds like the problem could be unrelated to OBGE. I have little experience with DR and many horror stories of it conflicting with mods or not being installed properly, so I won't further comment in regards to that.

  13. I just installed obse and decided to check it out, my game isnt frozen, rather.. no HUD, the graphics are see-through and my toons face is invisible! Like all I see is his hair, eyebrows, eyes and his teeth.. Man, this is gonna give me nightmares lol, can someone explain to me what is going on.. did I do something wrong.. I was going to remove all the files I put in but I want to wait till I get a reply. I have read that after loading the game for the first time after installing OBGE, you will have to wait for everything to load or whatever... How long is this wait.. I'm pushing on 5-10 minutes of waiting :/

The first time you install OBGE and load, the game should appear to be frozen for a bit until everything finishes (afterward, you should disable any you don't want outside of the game). How exactly did you install OBGE (i.e. where did you put everything, are you using a shaderlist.txt yet since the in-game tool doesn't appear to work in newer versions)?

What you described is certainly odd, though, I have to say. OBGE doesn't affect models, only shaders. When I first loaded the game, it looked odd enough but mostly just involved extremely low FPS and lots of fog, not missing stuff. Is OBGE the only mod you've recently installed? (Disable the ESP, by the way, it causes more issues than anything.)

  14. 1st question: Which door in particular is this happening to?

Possible solution: If you have OBMM, you can try to use the BSA Un-corrupter under Utilities on your mesh and texture BSAs.

2nd question brought up by possible solution: Have you recently extracted files from any of the BSAs? That can cause corrupted files (at the least, it's happened to me and was easily fixed).

3rd question: If you do have OBMM, did you install the texture pack with that or do it manually? If you used OBMM, try setting Archive Invalidation under Utilities to include textures and meshes and update it (should already be set to textures by default, though).

  15. It probably happened because you didn't shut down OBMM properly by using the power button (or you have plain bad luck).

    From the OBMM help file:

"obmm's save data file has been corrupted somehow, causing obmm to loose information about which omods were active. This usually happens when updating from one version of obmm to a much newer one without passing through the intermediate versions, but can also happen if you kill obmm from the task manager or if it's unable to shut down correctly for some reason.

You have a few options here, of which the forth is simplest and probably best. Firstly you can ignore it; any mods you had installed will still be installed, and will continue to work as normal. If you intend to activate/deactivate mods in the future you may run into problems though. Secondly, you can reinstall your mods. To do this, first export your load order and then click 'deactivate and clean all'. All of your omods should now display green, so activate whichever ones you were using, then reimport your load order. Note that any edits made by omods to oblivion.ini will not be reverted as obmm has forgotten what they were, and so they may need to be reverted by hand. Thirdly you can reinstall oblivion. This is rather extreme, and almost certainly overkill, but it does ensure that there's no gunk left behind anywhere. If you want to do this, first move obmm's mods directory somewhere safe, then uninstall obmm, uninstall oblivion and delete the oblivion folder. Reinstall oblivion, start it up once and close it, install obmm, start it once and close it and then copy obmms mods folder back. Restart obmm, and activate whichever of your mods you were using. The forth option is to just click 'batch actions|Acquisition activate filtered'. That will relink any inactive omods to the files contained in your data folder and mark them as active, without actually extracting anything or running any scripts. As with the second option, changes to oblivion.ini will be lost. This method will also cause obmm to loose any enforced load order that had been set by scripts via LoadBefore and LoadAfter commands.

Edits to oblivion shaders are a special case; because of their importance, (i.e. a corrupt shader package requires an oblivion reinstall,) they are backed up to a separate save file. Activating and then deactivating a shader mod which was active when obmm lost its main save file will restore any shaders edited by that mod back to the originals.

Something else which will be lost permanently is omod group info. This can be exported and restored, so if you've spent a considerable amount of time customizing your omod groups you might want to consider exporting it and backing it up somewhere."

    Hope that helps.

Edit: Also, what do you mean you had another mod with "this problem?" As in, it was screwing up OBMM or it was causing a crash?

  16. The construction set seems to hate Windows Vista/7. I have the same issue (always crashes when using certain panels, like the quest ones). Try running it in compatibility mode (set to Windows XP, turn off visual themes and desktop composition might help).

Also, since you're using OBSE, it might help to set your construction set to link to obse_loader and then add -editor after the location in properties, so the CS can use OBSE scripts properly and not crash/refuse to save. Ex. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe" -editor

Hope that helps in your case. Maybe someone with a definite solution could help out here, seeing as I have the same issue?

  17. No help then? First and only bump.

Hung around and solved problems for good karma :)

Anyone with any experience with SM ini work is welcome.

My first reaction would be to reinstall the mod. Did you accidentally delete something in the ini (like uncommenting one of the comments)? Was this happening before you edited the ini? The mudcrab resist thing sounds unrelated to SM, and the sneak issue sounds like the mod is just screwed up...do you have any mods that could possibly conflict? (Midas Magic and OOO come to mind.)

Edit: Wow I have bad reading, didn't even look at the mod list there. Attack and hide, Deadlier Sneaking, and Toaster's Legendary Skills could conflict with SM (not personally familiar with those 3 mods, though). SM probably does have some serious issues with OOO and the other FCOM parts (I personally use just OOO and still have some weird issues, like trap spells [especially paralyze] glitching out sometimes, plus necromancers acting weird). The grand soul gem problem seems like it's just because you edited it after you picked it up.

Or maybe FCOM decided to just be funny and make invincible mudcrabs? Who knows.

  18. Chances are, if you ran into gargoyles and you can't kill them at all, you're way too low level for whatever dungeon/quest you're doing. I would guess you're in Sideways Cave (I think that's the one, it's full of imps and has a flooded area with dead archaeologists?) Personally, I find Mystic Imps to be much more of a hassle, as gargoyles are only strong in melee combat. Your best bet against any kind of imp is to use a ranged attack and hide behind a corner, ducking out to fire a shot, waiting for them to shoot, and ducking back to dodge (be careful about their area spells, though). It's a little cheap, but unfortunately a little cheapness is required sometimes due to the combat in Oblivion being a little unrealistic (and unreasonable in some cases, especially with OOO, and especially on that last Mages' Guild quest with there being 5 necromancers and 2 spectral reavers in one room...)

If you really want to remove or balance them, you're going to have to edit the OOO esp file in the construction set. Chances are removing them flat out will bug the game, but you could reduce their health, attack damage, or spell power to your taste. Not sure if that'll work though, as, in my case, trying to edit OOO (or even just use something from it in another mod file) will crash the construction set on save.

  19. Is your armor animated?

No, it's just a normal armor, albeit a high poly one (it's not SUPER high poly, though - I have only seen one armor with more polygons, and that one caused severe FPS drops, but it didn't crash when I was hit with that on, either).

Is your armor applied to any strange body like BBB which is animated with extra animations?

Nope, don't use anything like BBB.

    Is your computer fast?

Pretty much. What would that affect?

Is your computer overloaded and operating at the very edge of its capacity?

Not at all. It has more ram than Oblivion can use, and the GPU and processor check out way above the recommended requirements, plus I have added the 4gb patch (this was happening before I applied that, though, so that's not the cause of this issue).

Have you verified that the crash point is not a coincidence? You might load up a save game and go find a different battle with a different enemy in a different location and see if it crashes every time you get hit.

I've tried using the armor in different locations - outside Bruma vs bandits, inside Anvil vs guards, inside the Imperial City vs pirates. It happens the instant I'm hit by a weapon only with that particular armor.

  20. The Rogue Armor recently uploaded to TESNexus is amazing - except for one problem: The game crashes whenever I get hit by an enemy's melee attack. Seriously. I didn't even notice this until a few days after I had installed it (surprisingly, despite playing every day since the installation, I've only just now got into a melee fight). I tried reinstalling it (I had made custom changes to the ESP, mesh, and a texture to fix a few things to my taste) but it still happens. It does not happen with any other armor, including mod armor. Is the mod itself just bugged in some strange way?
  21. Wow, I've never heard of Oblivion going completely haywire like that before. That sucks. However, I can tell you that, by default for some reason (I think if it detects your system is very good), Oblivion starts with both Bloom and HDR enabled, which must be fixed. Did you check your AA settings? (HDR can't run with AA on, but it might've glitched and not disabled it automatically.) Are you using forced settings on your video card? Did you delete your INI properly, then reinstall mods? (Some mods must edit the INI to work.)

I hate to say it, but it sounds like you may need to reinstall.

Also, why do you have KF files conflicting? Aren't those animation files? That could be the cause right there.

Did you try running the game without using OBSE? Did you try reinstalling OBSE? Are you sure you didn't overwrite anything you shouldn't have when you made your mods? Have you tried using BOSS or Wyre Bash to help? These are all shots in the dark, but you never know.

  22. I'm almost afraid to post here due to my newness (ignore the date, I'm a chronic lurker on many forums :) ), but here goes:

Name: Viola [no last name known] ("Hey, that's me!")

    Gender: Female

    Race: Moonshadow Elf

Starsign: The Thief ("You'd think I'd have been born under the Shadow considering what I am, but oh well, it's nice to have stars that look after you.")

Class: Nightblade (technically, it's a custom class but has the same name)

Homes: The Waterfront ("There's no place like it - that's not entirely a positive description, by the way.")

Favourite Land: Cyrodiil (she doesn't do much traveling) ("I wish I could see Akavir...")

Best Friend: [Formerly] Lucien Lechance, Ocheeva, and Vincente Valtieri; [Currently] Baurus and an undisclosed "friend"

Worst Enemy: Daedra of pretty much any type; [Formerly] Adamus Phillidus (not Hieronymus Lex though - she always felt pity for him)

Combat Preference: Using a single one-handed shortsword (preferably enchanted and poisoned for maximum bite)

Combat Style: Lightning fast, dazzling, whittling down the enemy into nothingness via attrition; honed from both training and arena fights; uses poisons if she can

Greatest Fear: Becoming trapped within Oblivion is her second worst fear; her worst fear is personal. ("An assassin would never give away her worst fear. I mean, come on.")

Greatest Want: She doesn't really have one - she lives by the moment - but if she had to pick, she would say money to do whatever she wants.

Physique: Skinny and toned; agile ("Some would perhaps even say too small, but they've never seen a real woman - these Imperial girls are too bulky.")

    Level: 17

Joined Guilds/Factions: Dark Brotherhood, Thieves' Guild, Mages' Guild (she feels incredibly out of place there despite her skills in several magic schools), the Arena (grand champion, in fact) ("I find it amazing how I managed to get to the top in the arena of all things. Those other fighters were total pushovers, except for the former Grand Champion, but that wasn't even a fair fight for him. It feels like I cheated or something. I also find it strange how no one else seems to notice just who I am at this point...On a side note, I like my fans who do know me, except for that one annoying kid. He's just a creep. A backrub? Seriously?") Also rumored to be a member of the Blades.

Enemy Guilds/Factions: The Imperial Legion/Guard, Necromancers, Daedra ("I hate those creepy demons, especially the big scary ones, and especially those nasty spider women, with their hybrid-ness and their webs and their spider babies and their implied...wait, let me stop there.")

Childhood: She was raised in a secluded village in Cyrodiil near the border of Skyrim, separated from general society. Her mother was a Moonshadow Elf who'd run to escape the life of the thief and assassin, and her father was a noble Dark Elf from Cheydinhal who'd left his money to (ironically) evade the Dark Brotherhood.

Teenage: At age 22 (13 in human years), as is custom for the females in the society her mother came from (the males rarely do this), Viola was sent to a remote island (whose real location is unknown even to her) to receive training in the arts of the assassin. This did not happen at the behest of her parents - they took her in exchange for their lives. She was expected to outperform the other initiates present at the island or die trying, as there was severe competition. As it was, she was the highest-performing initiate among twenty-nine others (her biggest rival was the one male initiate there, incidentally), and so she was offered as an assassin for the Dark Brotherhood, similar to the Shadowscale practice of the Argonians.

Prefered Food: She has acquired a taste for many unusual ingredients in the name of wortcraft, but her favorite food is still cooked venison with some Tamika wine. ("Surille tastes like rotten cherries.")

Disliked Food: Tree bark (no, seriously - she tried once on a dare while in training) ("Hey, that's not funny! How do I change these records, again?"); most varieties of alcohol besides wine

Favourite Arrow Type: She mostly uses standard Imperial arrows (of the iron, steel, and silver varieties) due to their plentiful supply, but she is a fan of ancient Ayleid arrows to the point where she refuses to fire them due to their rarity [breaking the fourth wall a bit here eh].

Favourite Blade Type: Her family heirloom blade, simply called the Elven Firebrand, is an elven shortsword with [wordy] engraved markings in Ayleid that apparently loosely translates as "To the one whom will strike fear into the hearts of men, mer, and daedra and save them from their own failings [can be interpreted as 'fate' or 'destiny']" - her mother claims it was given to Viola's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmother many years ago by the Grandmaster of the assassins-in-training on the remote island as a reward for exceeding him in skill. However, she has recently sold it. Greed knows no bounds.

Spells: She knows many spells [most of them useless] due to spending much time pouring over texts, practicing, and receiving training from the Mages' Guild, but she is the most well-versed in Alchemy, Illusion, Restoration, and Alteration [the latter of which is not even a major skill, but it's somehow at Journeyman] - which, interestingly, encompasses the whole "changing reality" scope.

Friendly Races: Most non-beast Imperial races seeing as Viola is a charismatic, charming person despite her faults, except Orcs (who think elves, especially a small, cute one like Viola, are pansies) ("Orcs are just jerks. Plain and simple.") and High Elves (who are generally disliked and dislike everyone else due to being stuck-up)

Neutral Races: Argonians and Khajiits - although they tend to respect her due to Argonians' Shadowscale heritage and Khajiits' tendency to be thieves

Hostile Races: Daedra, Orcs, High Elves

Favourite City/Town: She lives in the Imperial City and spends a lot of time there, but she is still often overwhelmed at the sheer number of people there, seeing as she's only been in "civilized" society for a year now. She mostly prefers Bravil due to its inhabitants being friendly towards thieves and because she's used to the poor and downtrodden, but she also likes Skingrad.

Least Favourite City/Town: Bruma ("I may have grown up in the mountains, but that doesn't mean I like to freeze my eyelashes off when I step outside."), Leyawiin ("That orc bookseller needs to shut up and let me browse already.")

Favourite Daedra: Clanfear ("They're like adorable little lizards...adorable little lizards that like to eat your face off, but still!")

Least Favourite Daedra: Spider Daedra, Daedroth

    Favourite Divine: None

Least Favourite Divine: None (She doesn't worship the Nine - indeed, she's either atheist or agnostic due to her upbringing.)

Main Weakness: She is quick and agile, but she lacks in strength. Also, despite her magical skill and knowledge, she has little innate talent and struggles to draw magicka into herself for spellcasting. Mostly, however [the rest is completely scribbled out and covered in splotch marks] ("An assassin would never give this away.")

Main Strength: She has incredible speed and dexterity to the point where she can dance around her foes and wear them down without skipping a beat. She seems to have incredible stamina despite her small size.

Goal in Life: By her own words, "To become to greatest of something." ("In hindsight, maybe I should have just left this blank...")

Why she was sent to jail: She was caught stealing an apple from a farm. The farmer who owned said farm called for the guards, and, conveniently, a patrol was nearby. The resulting chase went across Cyrodiil from Cheydinhal to Anvil, and, in desperation, Viola tried to smuggle herself onto a ship to Valenwood, but the captain refused and gave her to the guards for her bounty [which was five gold, incidentally - she would've been willing to pay up to a thousand, but never got to mention such]. Normally, she would've just been locked up for a day in the local Anvil jail, but while being escorted she managed to pick the lock on her manacles and kill two of the three guards. The third managed to knock her out after a struggle and decided that the security of the Imperial Prison would probably be a better choice. Look where that got her... [Alternatively, we could go with Yahtzee's reason - sleeping with the Emperor's wife while playing an awesome guitar solo after killing one of the Nine. Take your pick.] ("I would've gotten away if that last guard hadn't been staring at me the whole time. I swear he was oogling me.") [Of note is the fact that she's been caught doing much more severe crimes before but always got away due to the help of the Thieves' Guild. Seriously, she probably owes about thirty years in jail.]

And here's a few not on the list:

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (This is despite the fact that the Dark Brotherhood runs on strict tenets.)

Favorite Race: Moonshadow Elves ("What did you expect? Nords?")

Favorite Outfit: When not wearing armor or combat gear [which is most of the time] she prefers to wear unusual clothing, as she finds the standard Imperial outfits to be too stiff and formal. Often, she can be found wearing lacy and frilly [but comfortable] dresses that emphasize her physique, much to the posh embarrassment of nobles, and much to the delight of poorer men. Her favorite armor would be her prized arena raiment, but she usually doesn't wear it unless she's actually at the arena, so most of the time she wears the armor given to her by her Grandmaster when she passed her training.

Private Life: [This entry is completely crossed out and splotched with what looks like blood, but the words 'lover' and 'unusual' are slightly visible in the passage.] ("It's called private for a reason.")

Current Criminal Status: "By order of the captain of the guard, WANTED, with a bounty of 35,000 gold for manslaughter, assault [involving a bar incident in Bruma], outlawed rituals, burglary, robbery, fraud, smuggling, bribery, blackmail, conspiracy to commit theft, conspiracy against the public, public indecency, illegal residence, tax evasion, resisting arrest, escaping custody, and impertinence ("How is that a crime?"). Subject is of the rare Moonshadow Elf race and is known for unusual dress style and tattoos, which makes her easy to find in a crowd. Subject is approximately 5' 1" and of a very slender build with light blue hair, stone-blue skin, and purple eyes. Known to be a prominent member of both the Thieves' Guild and the Dark Brotherhood - rumored, in fact, to be the Listener (in layman's terms, the leader) of the infamous assassins' guild. Extreme caution is advised, as the subject is also a trained fighter, being the Grand Champion of the Imperial City Arena. Subject also has strong ties to the Mages' Guild (rumored to command the replacement Archmage in secret) and the Blades. Anyone with information should contact Hieronymus Lex Adamus Phillidus the captain of the guard in the Imperial Prison Office."

Addendum: These records have been tampered with. Recommend recovery and/or rewrite of records by suggestion of I, Chamberlain of the White Gold Tower.

Addendum: Are you crazy? How do you expect us to interview her? The only time we managed to do so before was when she was locked up in the Imperial Prison. And how do you expect us to find records on her, anyway? She has no official records except this one, seeing as she's not an official citizen of the Empire. I'm not willing to get my head chopped off just to get rid of a few scratch marks on a piece of paper. She might be a looker, but she'll kill you faster than a Dremora will.

Addendum: Guard Samuel Lemmin has been stripped of his position and reassigned to slop drudge in Skingrad. Recommended recovery and/or rewrite of records has been accepted.

Addendum: Despite the subject's incredible bounty, no one has so far turned in any information on her. This is despite her being very well known due to her status as Grand Champion. It seems as if she has many friends in high places, as there's no way she can simply walk through the streets without anyone reporting her. Even the guard seems reluctant to apprehend her! In fact, they let her roam freely through the Imperial City itself!

Addendum: Recommended recovery and/or rewrite of records changed to rejected by suggestion of the Blades. Let's not anger the good late Emperor's well-trained guards, eh?

Wow, that took a lot longer than I thought it would.

Edit: Changed a few things based on her new appearance.

  23. Unfortunately, some things are just flat out hard-coded due to Gamebryo (Oblivion's game engine). For example, there are no diagonal movement animations. Now, in regards to wanting more realism, it sounds like you're looking for Deadly Reflex, a mod in which one shot can be one kill like in real combat (it also adds some new moves). Also, don't be afraid to use things like OOO (FCOM is a different story due to many, many headaches). In fact, I personally use only OOO and it was pretty easy to install compared to other mods since it uses EXE installers.

As for wanting to learn animation, etc., there are plenty of tutorials floating around the internet. I would suggest learning how to use NifSkope and Blender first, but I have no personal experience with animation, so I can't specifically direct you to anywhere beyond that.

    Hope that helps.
