  1. Thanks. There's no identifying names or links connected to it. I'll probably just delete it.

     

    Also, I think the other mods that aren't working have failed because I uninstalled all my unofficial patches when the game insisted I didn't need. That's a real bummer too.

  2. There is a file in my NMM called Major update-20229-2-0.

     

    Does anyone know what it is? I uninstalled it today while uninstalling all my mods because many of them stopped working. I still can't get the extra features in character edit that I had before.

     

    But the game appears to work and be stable even without that file activated. What is it? I did an Internet search and nothing came up.

  3. I see it says "Hidden". And as soon as the enemy comes in sight it switches to detected and they start shooting at me.

     

    I have 2 points in the Sneak Perk so I shouldn't be detected instantly from such a long distance. I even have a suppressed pistol I'm using

     

    Edit: I figured it out. I have a Walther Pistol mod and that mod has a laser sight that I can install. When install it makes it impossible to sneak. No matter how far away they are they see the laser for some reason.

     

    I uninstalled the laser and I seem to be able to sneak again.

     

    That said, even with my pip boy light on I wasn't this visible to enemies.

  4. For some reason when I sneak the enemy sees me from a mile away.

     

    I wasn't several hundred feet from Backdoor Apparel and just as I rounded the corner, in sneak mode, while slow walking, at night, as soon as the guard came into sight she saw me and started firing.

     

    I had to reload and this time on the way to BA, as I was passing the bridge, the Raiders out on the boat saw me while sneaking at night from way out there on the water.

     

    Can anyone tell me what is going on?

     

    When I finally got inside BA, the two guards that usually have a funny conversation in the back of the room had already saw me and were firing on me before I could even move. I was in stealth mode and walking slowly when I clicked on the door to enter.

     

    This is very frustrating. I tried reloading the game thinking that might help.

  5. For some reason the Lone Wanderer Perk is disabled. The icon is bright white in color and it displays what you get when you select it at level 50.

     

    I cannot interact with it. I have 5 to Charisma so that shouldn't be a problem. I've tried two new games and it's the same.

     

    Any ideas?

  6. I'm having a similar problem, but I haven't modified any perks (that I know of).

     

    My glitch is that the Lone Wanderer perk is all white and it only displays what you get at level 50. I can't interact with the button at all or move the level back and forth with ctrl or alt.

     

    It's the only perk that's like that and I have no idea why.

  7. I just looked this up myself to figure out where this armor came from. I don't mind that it's there and so far it hasn't caused a ctd that I know of.

     

    What I don't like is that I'm not getting any arrows back from draugr. I started with almost 150 steel arrows when I went in and by the end I was out and had to use ancient arrows. I was literally down to my last 3 arrows.

     

    Good arrows re hard to find in the beginning so I'll probably disable it. Too bad though I would have liked to have seen what else the mod had.

  8. No. I don't remember where I got it but it's a new game start so it was found near Whiterun. It's just a steel axe that is enchanted with "ethereal weapon."

     

    I think it's a glitch where a summoned weapon is dropped somehow and what was carrying it dies but the weapon remains on the ground.

     

    I think it could be from Belua Sanguinare Vampiris Mod. There are summoned axes that float around and attack your enemies. They may have gotten disarmed and a naked but resurrected zombie may have picked it up.

  9. So, I found this enchanted axe but there's not description of what it does.

     

    It just says "ethereal weapon" or something like that.

     

    I was able to unenchant it so I could imbue another weapon but before I do I should probably know what it does.

     

    I think the ethereal weapons bypass armor. Is that correct?

  10. I tried to copy what was in my Data folder into the empty NMM folder. The file was 22 gigs. Since i couldn't be sure what I was copying was correct I stopped the transfer.

     

    My situation is this. I already had a copy of Skyrim with none of the DLC. I just bought the Legendary version so I could finally play DG et al. So I download it and find my NMM is out of date. So DL that and find that none of my mods show up on the list but they are listed in the plugins.

     

    I started the game up using SKSE and it seems to work but warns me that some of my mods should be upgraded because I now have DG et al.

     

    So, now I'm faced with transfering the contenst of the Data folder and hope that it's all the right files and that it works fine (I doubt it), or deleting everything and starting from scratch because I don't want redundant files on my computer clogging the thing up.

     

    What would you do? I think I'm going with the scorched earth method.

  11. Yeah I'm on 1.7.7.0.6 using the SKSE version I downloaded about a week ago. No problems for me

     

    When I extracted it I extracted the whole folder. What I should have done was open it, highlight all the files I wanted and extracted them to the Skyrim folder. What I actually did was put a new skse folder in the Skyrim folder which doesn't work at all.

  12. I'm in the latest version (I think) and using SKSE and don't have these messages. 1.7.7.0.6 I think. I don't have it up to check though...

  13. Then I think More HotKeys is another mod you should try out ;) It adds the possibility to bind a lot more keys, as well as several spells to a single key. Incredibly useful for mages.

     

    That looks promising. However, I've been having trouble with SKSE. Every time I try to start it it says I'm using a new version of Skyrim than SKSE supports and I should wait for SKSE to catch up. Unfortunately, it's been saying this for a month now.

     

    I'm pretty sure I'm downloading and installing it correctly. Any ideas on that?

  14. I recently started to use PsiKotics Necromancy Mod, which is a huge expansion for everything that involves necromancy and manipulating the undead. It adds a lot of new spells, functions and revamps the whole conjuration tree. The creator is seems to be very active on the project and updates it a lot. This currently also works with Belua Sanguinare, with the exception of some vampire-boosts from the Necromancy Mod that doesnt have any effect on BSR vampires, but which luckily doesn't cause any crashes or bugs. Perfect for anyone playing vampire necromancers :) I really think this project deserves a lot more attention.

     

     

    Also, Forested Skyrim is an excellent mod that turns the boring flat area around Whiterun into a pine forest :D Probably not something for any lore-geeks, but it adds a massive refreshing and cozy feeling to that area which is much welcomed after hundreds of hours of running back and forth around that place. It seems to be very well done and doesn't affect my performance much at all. I recommend to combine it with Lush Trees and some mod of your choice that also add trees within the walls of Whiterun (There are a few to choose from).

    I'm going to try that necromancy mod. I never liked the way necromancy worked in skyrim. It seemed that it was too hard to raise corpse and they were too few in the first place. Plus, you had to decide which spell to use and it was clumsy always having to sort through the list to get the right spell.

     

    That's really one thing I hate about Elderscrolls is that there has never been enough key binds to use the spells you want to use without stopping and looking for it. It ruins the fluidity of the game. You pretty much have to use just 8 spells or weapon or potions unless you want to stop and look for something.

    I'm glad you brought up the potions. It makes sense to me that health, magicka, and stamina potions don't work well but I've also noticed that potions that let you carry more for 300 seconds don't work, either. Does that mean blacksmithing, enchanting, resist, fortify, etc potions don't work, either? D:

     

     

    There are 5 vampire levels irrc. As you progress up the hierarchy you gain vampire strengths and abilities and lose your humanity. Part of that is that eating no longer helps you and eventually potions and even self-cast healing spells no longer work on you. But you can harvest hearts from newly killed npcs and store them in jars to eat later. You can also feed in combat to restore health and turn your enemy into an undead slave. As you get higher in vampire level those slaves last for a very long time if you want them too.

     

    There is even an option to turn an npc into a vampire companion although that doesn't work right just yet. He's working on it though.

     

    I don't even use shouts myself. And BRS had the best vampire options long before Dawnguard came out.

    This one doesn't have the variety that yours has though but the alchemy affects are quite useful.

     

    You know, I haven't actually tested the alchemical ingredients in useful Remains, I just assumed that human flesh and hearts would work like before. I've been too interested in making the bones into decorative items and making food ^^;

     

    The items might be interesting but since I'm currently a vampire I can't eat or benefit from food, magic, or potions. Maybe on my next character.

  17. I looove Belua Sanguinare. If you've posted in the comments recently that would explain why your avatar is so familiar to me. xD

     

    It really is a great mod and MofoMojo makes it better with his enthusiasm and constant updates. Whereas vanilla vampire is a chore, Belua is fun and new and interesting. I rarely fast travel anymore because running is so much fun and if a mountain blocks my way I just turn into mist and fly over it!

    Makes Khajiit, vampire, and werewolf nighteye powers permanent (as they should be. It makes no sense to have an active rather than passive nighteye power if you’re a cat.)

     

     

    Of course, maybe those are underrated mods because htere are much more popularuseful mods that do the same thing that I'm unaware of.

  19. There are a few mods that I have been using since Skyrim came out almost a year ago but for some reason have not gotten the endorsements and downloads I think they deserve. Maybe because the modder stopped working or the mod was small and therefore didn't attract enough attention, or because another mod was released before it and therefore has gotten all the attention.

     

    I can think of 2 that I feel are noteworthy.

     

    On is AG Shiny Brotherhood Skins. Beautiful and sexy patent leather Dark Brotherhood Shrouded Armors in several colors to choose from. I've always thought fully clothed women were more practical and can be just as beautiful. Try it out. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3501 Bloodsheen is my favorite.

     

    The second is a popular vampire mod that came out a couple months after another mod. Belua Sanguinare Revisited is everything a vampire mod should be. Practical, intuitive, amazing powers, and a vampire skill level that keeps you feeding long after you've reached the highest level. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17077 The modder, MofoMojo was making vampirism better long before Dawnguard came along. So much so that I haven't bothered to upgrade to the new DLC. But if you already have, MofoMojo has made a DG compatible version and still responds to fan requests, bugs, and feedback every day.

     

    So what are you favorite mods that you think don't get the appreciation they deserve?

    That's a good question. I wasn't thinking it was a mod, which explains why I couldn't find it in any search engine.

     

    I am using a butt load of mods. . .

     

    . . . I just looked through them and the only two I think it could be is Tytanis and Skyrim Monster Mod.

  21. I disenchanted an ethereal weapon and now I have this option when enchanting new weapons.

     

    What does it do?

     

    I can put 2 enchants on a weapon so I'm wonder if this was a fluke or if there is some advantage to putting it on an actual bow or sword?

    Edit: I just looked into it further and it seems that I can get 1 strike with a grand soul gem. That isn't a problem since I have 100% decrease in destruction magicka cost.
