  1. Hi! Good selection of mods there, and not too much yet in my opinion :D!

I would really recommend "Spice of life" by Nivea. Adds lots of very well done and lore friendly looking variety to the armor and clothes on NPCs/loot. A must have for me!

    http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/44476/?

(Type3 and Robert compatible.) Especially if you´ve played Fallout 3 this mod is a saviour, because vanilla New Vegas has a lot of the same old gear you`ve seen in FO 3.

And, if you like to make money gambling, the casinos in Vanilla have a system that you get banned for ever from a casino after youve made a certain amount of money there. This handy little mod makes the ban temporary plus you can set the time it takes for ban to be lifted:

I`d also recommend checking out the T6M female body, its actually compatible with Type 3 body textures and you can also wear all clothes made for type 3, but the body mesh, in my opinion, fixes some "realism" problems I felt original type 3 has: like shoulders and arms are more natural and armpits no longer have such a "gap" away from the side of the body..

Theres a lot of armor made especially for T6M too, and replacers for vanilla gear.

The files for the body meshes are with this download I think. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45505/?

(Author Izumiko is not english speaking and sometimes uses a translator I think, so at times just have to doublecheck to make out the T6M stuff descriptions  )

And have fun in New vegas  !

  2. Hi! When at it, remember that use of ENB or lightning mods like Cinematech may make world of difference how your char looks, before using an ENB I hated how wierd and bleak especially vanilla backlightning on a sunny day made my chars face, started using this : http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49882/?

and very happy, not just with how my char looks but the world

And some mods if you or someone else still searching for tips:

Women of the wasteland mod by Nuska http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/51084/?

adds a new headmesh for a much more realistic shape than vanilla, has new presets that make a good start point. I created my own race for myself in Geck starting with Nuskas plugin, added stuff like custom hairs, tattoos from other mods on the Nexus, tweaked my own presets, can`t remember if I added Throttlekittys eyelashes too, or maybe those were in Nuskas allready? Eyelashes.: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34790/?

also this is a very nice eye texture I think, bit like what is in that screen you posted = Simple eye retex by zzjay http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/47182/?

(Picks of my char too in "images from users "of those files  , was not even using ENB when that was taken and pretty happy still .)

And this, Fallout Character overhaul: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54460/?

adds new better headmeshes to vanilla races, presets and new races to choose from too,.I use it for NPCs, its compatible with using my own race for my char. Not compatible with mods that add hair etc for vanilla races without tweaking it yourself I think..

  3. Hi! If your character does become a vampire, I definetely recommend checking out and comparing vampire overhauls on the Nexus- I use the "Better Vampires" by Brehanin myself and loving it. Very customisable (requires Skse for customizing though), I´ve not met any bugs and I think it adds a whole new level of gameplay to Skyrim, plus makes you feel like a vampire, not just some slightly sun sensitive freak ;) .

Some other cool sounding vampire mods out there too, but not tried others myself.

  4. Hi :)! I´m familiar with "normal" use of the Creation Kit.

But I`d like to do some small changes for personal use to Npcs in a mod that requires Skse... (mod= The Pocket Empire builder. ) Propably just change a few names to my likes or tweak some faces a bit...

Can I load the mod in the CK as usual and make my changes to the npcs without the Skse scripts being disturbed?

Or do I somehow have to load the CK via Skse- if so , could not find any info anywhere on how to do that?

  5. Hi! I remember this was pretty easy to do in Oblivion, so I suppose it can be done- unfortunately can`t even remember how in Oblivion it was at the time
To specify, I got some mods I might later want to even publish, but unfortunately, when making them just mostly for myself I`ve been rushing between mods in CK and forgotten to turn of esm files that are not needed : like making a food mod of just vanilla foods, another of Hearthfire ones, and when switching editing those, forgot to turn Hearthfire Esm. off, saved the Vanilla foods plugin with HF active- however, if my plugin still does not touch any HF items, any way to remove dependency of HF esm. ?
;PS. Tried searching and google but got too many unrelated topics, sry, ty:)

  6. I`d very very much like to see a marry khajiits mod too!! At least maybe a mod that would give the voice files needed for even a "console marriage" to khajiits, made from any existing khajiit lines. That might be doable even before the construction set comes?

My Khajiit girl is just heartbroken cause she has to send Kharjo away to the trade caravan to make room for a stupid quest follower, wish he could be married and waiting safely at home...

"This one feels warmth from your presence!"

  7. My first and main characters have been wearing mostly light armor or robes so far, and they all have a "normal" walk.. But Ive noticed some female NPCs have a "manly" walk animation, dunmer Irileth in Dragonsreach for example. One night I just fooled around and made an orc character, and she had this manly walk from the start, whatever she was wearing too.

Orcs start with 25 points in heavy armor , and so Im wondering if that is the reason for the walk, and, more importantly: Id like to improve heavy armor with my Nord, its allready gone up some from wearing just a heavy helmet and shield, but now Im afraid that if her heavy armor goes to 25, she gets an bulky walk animation too!

So, if thats really the reason for the walk, does the animation kick in from reaching 25 in heavy armor automatically, or only if your heavy gets higher than light or something?

  8.

That's almost what I want, but I want to be able to walk at the same time and stuff, thanks anyway though.

Hi!I´ve used that mod for a while and I have been (knocks on wood) able to walk around etc OK with animations from it running!

Ok I remember I re-modded it a bit for personal use a while back to remove unwanted stuff or slow frequency of anims, but still I should say mine basically works the same as original, so it shoukd let you hang around ok! Hmmm, just came to my mind it might also be because I switch to 1st person for combat that I have not got stuck on anims when I want to get going so to speak!Good luck! :nuke:

  9. Like you ; when on awalkabout,I like to admir...er look at myself in the 3d person but in combat switch to 1st unless I wish to get squashed!Yes,1st= easier to kill people IMO too  !

    This http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1708

by the way is one great animation mod for third person for anyone who does not know yet.....Ads animations the NPCs use for u, like smoking/drinking IF you have cigarettes/beer/nuca cola in your inventory, etc!.But be warned some people complain the "NPC like"weapon idle poses u get make starting combat a bit slower, not that I ever noticed serious trouble in there, and have used it for months!

  10. HI! If you want to get all of the modding goodness out of FO3 you definately want the Goty, as it gives you all the extra Bethesda meshes & textures made for the DLC! (whether you wish to mod yourself/use others mods for outfits or areas/quests, theres plenty new models from DLC to start with for making/baking your own or to use as they are for making quest areas more interesrting etc...of cource remember if you/the maker of a mod have a DLC loaded to use it`s resources when making a mod in the CS the mod will become dependent on that DLC and only that DLC owners can use the mod- but I think most mod users use most or all DLS.... )

One thing when installing: one fell swoop, ay, from the disks you get, but you should go to Bethesdsa official page for FO3 to get the latest update after downloading, and u may have to go to Windows Live and do the same- I remember vaguely having some trouble getting my Goty started before some windows live updating.....Sorry my maybe bad english,

  11. Just wanted to thank everyone for your kind help on this thread, ! Just got to new port and plugged the devices to a newly brought surge protector wich is now plugged straight to the dock cable reel - no more sparkling, and everything works great! Happy!

& bben46, thanks for your suggestion of and intel on allways running the laptop via the iverter! I just read it now after allready getting that surge protector though, but sounds like good advice still, I´ll show that to my huspand too!

  12. UPS = Uninterruptable Power Supply. Also known as an inverter. Ag)

    "

Aaahh, thanks very much! Now I think I actually know/realise what that is! The english "USP" for short was strange, but I think I too know it as the "inverter", we use such a device when we are at sea or docked with no electricity available, but want to use delicate electrical equipment like a computer drawing power from the main battery of our boat. thanks...

Currently actually doing that, being at sea, so I can / will not test our new laptop or HD mentioned in the prime question again before we are ashore & and buy a new surge protector,( cause I, the Wife, say to buy one !) but anyone with advice or info of course feel free to give it!

  13. Thank you very much guys  This helps! Ok..

Some blue small sparks is normal when you first plug in a device.

As the friend of ours said too then..Still feels scary to just try, as I never saw that happen before!

The surge protector should be plugged into the wall socket by itself. You then plug your laptop into the surge protector. In your boat you want it connected directly to the extension cord from the dock.

    And

The best order is this: electric equipment ("cpu") ==> bekin==> cable reel==> ashore powersource.

    Thankyou, good, understood now!

And if I buy a surge protector with multiple sockets, I can have both the laptop (or the old desktop with its screen etc.) and the Lacie Harddisk plugged straight to the surge protectors sockets, & use nothing but the protector plugged to the extension cord reel from the dock, now that sounds pretty safe right?

The extension cord from the dock itself has a fuse that should blow in case of a spike it can not handle.

But say... are there still sparks if you plug or unplug electric equipment to/from the bekin-device?

Only your laptop and ext. hd cause sparks?

Are all your electric cables and electrical connections ok?

Is you "UPS" like "ups i did it again" or the device UPS?

Oh, a misunderstanding, I have not yet bought the Belkin surge protector (for instance) , so far we have just the small one socket surge protector between our desktop cpu´s extension cord and the docks cable reel, as the desktop needs an extension cord for the multiple sockets.

-So,the socket we tried plugging the HD & laptop in was of that basic extension cord, grounded but not surge protected in itself. But, like said, we have not actually plugged them all the way in because of the sparks, so no actual unpluggin either!

-Yeap, only the laptop and ext.hd cause sparks.

.-All the cables and connections on the boat should be ok. And because, like I said we also tried to plug the hard disk to another persons extention cord in a house ashore & it still sparkled, I don´t think the problem can be with our electricity.

-UPS= as in device  Just asking cause I did not understand what it was.

The sparkling happening elsewhere too makes me think what Yeldarb and our friend said about normal blue sparks even might be it( knocks on wood)... But I guess we´ll buy a good surge protector first anyway and connect it like you guys said! Thanks again!

PS. I learned a new word, "socket!" Was really trying to remember that one when I first wrote!

  14. Many Thanks in advance for any help! And I´m sorry I´m not a native english speaker so terms of electrical gizmos are kind of vague to me! ( I hope I can explain the trouble correctly! Arrgh.. Just tought I might find knowlegeable folks here faster than trying to find an active forum on the matter in my language! ) For Finnish speakers: apua sopii antaa suomexi!:P

Here´s the problem from the beginning...

We live on a boat, where, when at dock, all electricity comes from ashore through a long cable reel with basic normally grounded extention cords attached to that reel. Between two extention cords leading to our old desktop CPU we have one simple(= one plug, max 3500W) surge protector.

Our desktop has allways worked fine with this system.

We have neither had any trouble when connecting little things like phone battery chargers that have their own adapter (??? is that what it is called? The black block connected to the plug of such devices as chargers, laptops.. :ermm: .)

But now: We bought us a laptop, and an external Lacie hard disk of 1TB.

At home/boat we wanted to first connect the new harddisk to our old desktop CPU. My husband tried to plug it´s cord to the extension cord our CPU uses... He did not yet push the plug to the bottom, when blueish sparks appeared! Nothing huge, but definete sparkling. Ok. tried with another extention cord, same thing. Then we went ashore to a building, and there: when connected straight to the wall,no sparkling, when trying to connect to any basic extention cord there, sparkling ensues!

We tought the hard disk was broken, went to the store, explained, and the guy plugged it into an"extention cord of sorts" wich was attached straight to his desk, no sparks, no refund...

THEN:We came home and tried to plug the LAPTOP into our extention cord: Sparks, like with the hard disk!! Tried with a different cord, sparks again...

Did not dare to push the plug all the way in of course. Now a friend who "knows stuff"/rumpages with computer parts a lot  just shrugged it off and told us to just push the plugs in, but no way do I dare do that! Or should I?

My(humble) conclusion: must have something to do with the laptop and hard disk being quite powerfull apparell wich have this adapter in their cord?

& If they can not be plugged straight to a wall, should they be connected only by an extention cord that has some major surge protector?

If so, what type of surge protector might that be? (Thats not too expensive either, 60- 100 Euros TOPS, the laptop really drained our funds..)

Because I tried searching for surge protectors on the pages of a local store,& I read the warranty notes on one, a Belkin surge protector wich seems to be a common brand...It says (my translation) quote:

"All Belkin surge protectors must be connected straight to the powersource and must not be chained with other powersources, UPS (?What´s that?), other surge protectors or extention cords."

Does it mean straight to a powersource as in straight to a wall?

And, if I do chain it after all, only to to our cable reel that leads to the powersource , I realise the warranty will not pay me anything if things go haywire, but does that also mean it will not work at all/be useless, or that it might be downright dangerous? Or, should it still work/protect my equipment , besides the warranty part of course?

A long rant, thanks for reading if you got this far! Hope it made any sense of the matter too!
