okay...so the problem is i cant open anything to do ANYTHING. I cant look at anything at all. There are no accessible files, so i cant even get the beginnings of a mod off the ground.

dont i need an active file? Why would is be there if i didnt? And if i dont make an active file it doesnt do anything. It offers no items for any sort of modding edit. how do i load them without making them an active file? i cant open or touch any files. and when i do it shuts the whole program down! i'm ready to beat my head on the wall!

Okay, so i just installed the creation kit but when I go to data to make an 'Active File' I cant touch anything! Clicking on the files wont help(both left and right click do nothing), selecting 'Set As Active file' wont help. I'm only trying to click the Skyrim.esm! Should I be clicking on the 'Update.esm' instead? Because i did that and it kept giving me a ton of warnings. At the end of the warnings it gave me an error message that continued with the options to abort or retry. I aborted and it shut the whole program down! I restarted the program tried to select it again to see if i could copy down the error message. now it wont let me open that either! Is there something wrong with what i'm doing? Is it because i have active mods in my game, maybe? I dont know whats going on...
