  1. I'm requesting this one, too. I know there's a specific line of code in the game files that can be disabled to allow armour in Skyhold using the Cheat Engine program, but I could never find it and I didn't feel good with that thing on my game. So if somebody could make a simple code mod to change that as a once-off, that'd be fantastic!
  2. Thanks, I'll give all that stuff a try. I'm installing Dragonborn right now, too... Who knows, maybe a bit of extra data will help the issue (it probably won't) I'm really hoping it's not a save issue, I've done so much on this character and I really don't want to have to go through it all again. If worst comes to worst and it is a corrupt save. Is there any fix aside from "Start a new game"?
  3. Boss log: Unrecognised: Papyrus log: Hope one of those comes up with an answer...
  4. Welp, not even a 100% reinstall fixed this, so it's definitely something to do with a mod. But buggered if I know which one because none of my mod management programs are picking anything up. Well, time for the final try - slowly uninstall mods one at a time until I find the issue. Fun fun fun.
  5. I feel like I have literally tried everything now. And yet, no matter what I do, no matter how many other issues I fix, no matter what happens, this bug persists... And it's driving me mad! As the title says... As soon as I get within a certain distance of Markarth, or try to fast travel directly into the city, I get a Crash-To-Desktop with an error saying "Skyrim stopped working". I have the option to "Debug" this error, however clicking this just tells me some useless message about Skyrim not being debug compatible (go f**king figure.) I've had this issue going on a month now... It popped up pretty much right after I finished the main story line involving Alduine. I wanted a new quest chain to occupy my time and decided on "The Forsworn Conspiracy"... Ever since then, I've been unable to come within about two in-game miles of the city without the crash, and fast travelling to anywhere in or near it crashes just the same. To give you an idea of how f**king frustrated this has made me, allow me to list everything I've done to try combat this crash: Uninstalling mods - fully using Mod Manager: This cleared out some space on my game, sure. Did it fix the bug? No. Lowering/tweaking graphical, audio and gameplay settings: No changes to the bug. Mod cleaning/cell resetting, using a number of different methods: Helped rid my game of several other minor problems. Did absolutely nothing for the Markarth bug. Messing with game files that could potentially interfere: Things like Forsworn model files and the like. Again, no change at all. Updating my graphics drivers: Made the game run smoother, didn't fix the bug. Updating my entire computer's firmware: Again, fixed a lot of issues and smoothed the game. Didn't fix the bug. Defragging my computer: Didn't do anything for the bug. Cleaning registry errors from my computer: Massive performance increase, solved a lot of other bugs.... But not the f**king Markarth crash. Deleting old save files: No change at all. Verifying Game Cache on steam: Doesn't do anything. Verifying computer file cache: Fixed a bunch of problems unrelated to Skyrim. Didn't affect Skyrim itself at all. Adjusting load order with BOSS: Didn't fix anything. Manually clearing out excess file bulk in Skyrim: Improved performance, didn't fix any bugs. Countless restarts and refreshes: No changes. Saving, travelling and using console for a variety of things: No apparent changes using this method. I have only one fallback lined up now, the "hard reset" change, which comprises of backing up all my mods and saves before totally ripping the game from my computer and re-installing it fresh. I'm currently in the process of this one, and it's quite time consuming. Honestly, I'd hoped I could avoid this, and if it doesn't fix my problem, then f**ked if I know what the hell's wrong with my game. Anybody got any advice while I slowly rip my game apart from the inside out? Also, here's my specs, although I doubt they have anything to do with this: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 2/5/2013, 17:08:18 Machine name: MASICH Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120830-0333) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Alienware System Model: M15x BIOS: Ver A09 1.00 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.7GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Available OS Memory: 8180MB RAM Page File: 4653MB used, 11705MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 120 DPI (125 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: UnKnown DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. 6. Basically, there are currently 3 "collar" mods available. One of them is incompatible with male characters (Leather collar by Jamer), one is supposed to be compatible and looks really nice, but is broken and fiddle though I might, I can't fix it myself (Gattis Belt Collar modified by SourAndSweet) and one of them seems to work, but is based on Nurato, when all I want is a simple leather collar. (Hidans Collar by esuriddick) Can somebody please either make a leather collar that works for males or just fix the Gattis belt collar mod? Thanks.
  7. Alright, but supposing somebody who wasn't one of the chosen ones decided to do a favour for all the deadric princes. What happens then, persay?
  8. So we all know that doing Deadric quests to get the artifacts they grant is basically the equivalent of selling your soul to a particular demon for power. And several other missions make no effort to hide the fact that your soul is forfeit to Sithis (Dark Brotherhood), Nocturne (Thieves Guild) Hircine (Companions) or Morag Bal (Dawnguard) Plus, we have the option of becoming "partially soul trapped" during the Dawnguard missions. So... if we do a mission for every Deadric prince and complete all those aforementioned missions... What happens when we die? Where does our soul go? Or rather, to whome does our soul go? If we effectively owe ourselves to each and every Deadric prince - plus the Ideal Masters for good measure - when we die, who gets the claim on it? Food for thought.
  9. I agree 100% with this thread. I love Skyrim, but my biggest, biggest gripe has always been just this: It feels soulless. No matter what you f***ing do, the game world doesn't change one iota. Even in Oblivion, at the end there was a dirty great dragon statue standing where a temple used to be and there were less demons charging around. It wasn't much, but it was something! What I want to see? Most of all? A new DLC: "Storys of Beyond" or something. A big change DLC that alters the game world based on what you accomplish. Maybe some new mission lines for the factions, a new High King, that sort of deal. The missing second half of the damn story, basically.
  10. I have seen both of those, I have them both, too, but quite frankly neither are what I was thinking. The goggles is... goggles, not glasses. And the one that actually has glasses has modern protective lenses. Not the more traditional spectacles and variations in the original. Hence my request.
  11. Gonne mention the Dwemer Spectacles mod. I'd love to see this remade for Skyrim, just a small, simple mod. You can see the original for Oblivion here: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/5198
  12. Pretty much like the title says. Some of you may remember the Dwemer Spectacles mod from Oblivion (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/5198) that simply added some neat little glasses, different shapes and colours, into the game. Personally, I'd love to see this mod ported/remade in Skyrim. glasses make a fun way to add things like nighteye and detect life and whatnot. Any takers?
  13. I'd love this too. Just a "smoking" mod in general, pipes and rolls and suchforth. Also, perhaps different herbs that work like potions and have different effects, maybe.
  14. This... actually turned out pretty well! I still had to do a bit of work to make an elf that didn't look too thin in the face, but it's a big improvement over vanilla, thanks!
  15. Alright, I have to say it, I'm sick of how the elves in Skyrim look. Quite frankly, they're aweful. Bosmer, Dunmer, Altmer, Falmer, all of them, ugly as sin. And it's not their skin, or their wrinkly faces or their eye colour or hair that makes them ugly, it's their face shape. The whole shape of their heads! It's nothing to do with their texture, it's all in the model - the mesh. I desperately want to play as an elf, but I'm always put off by how godawful my character looks when I do. The Breton, Nord, Imperial and Redgaurds all have lovely face shapes, Orcs look like orcs, Aragoinians look suitably lizardman-ish and Khajiit look like cat people. But elves? Elves look like decomposing alien corpses with a side helping of anorexia! They have long, thin, sunken faces that look like bad Halloween masks. And I'm sick of that look! Can somebody please make a mod that just replaces the head mesh of all the elves with Breton or Imperial or something? Keeping nothing but the texture and ears? Currently I'm using the race morpher mod and have it set on "Breton" (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13623) which works to an extent, but all the elves lose their elf ears. I have another mod that makes a bunch of wearable ear items, but that only counts towards my player character, not the countless NPCs wandering around. So please, can somebody just get in there and make some new headmorphs for elves that are essentially "Breton with elf ears"? Please? I'm at my wit's end here and I've just spent two very frustrating hours trying to find a mod that changes the elf head morphs (Heads up: There are none.) Or at very least, can somebody tell me how to make it so all elf characters automatically equip the ears in this mod I have? Thanks.
  16. I'm trying to create a spell that shoots the player forwards a'la Whirlwind Sprint. So naturally, I figured the best bet would be to copy the Whirlwind Sprint power, change it to a spell and stick some nifty effects on it. The effects work, the spell is added to my list and I can cast it... But it does absolutely nothing. I've been struggling with this for 2 days! Please help me out... I just want the "sprint" ability for one of my custom spells.
  17. I'm gonna' be frank here. I think the default characters in Skyrim usually look ugly as all hell. I know they're supposed to look a certain way, the high cheekbones, long faces, etc... But I'm just not a fan. Everywhere here that I look here, I see screenshots like these: http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/3585853-1346368544.png http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/3290286-1346389088.jpg http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/3290286-1346389088.jpg http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/1374685-1346385478.jpg http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/2071914-1346376879.jpg Beautiful looking characters with smooth faces and gentle features. None of that weird-ass gaunt, dirty characters. I've looked, but I can't seem to find whichever mod it is that allows me to make my characters look like this. For reference, I'm trying to make a young-ish looking male character. But such a feat seems practically impossible by Skyrim standards. Can somebody help me out please?
