Ha Ha!! Squashy started having to wait for 2 minutes, from hitting the 'quick launch' button, to the fading of the desktop..and another 1 minute till the game was ready to start!! THEN, Skyrim Performance Monitor started glitching..and, well..you get the idea! Sooo, Scrrubb, scrub, scrub...no more friggin' Windows 10, back to a FRRresh copy of Windows 7!! Only have about 2 more days of drivers, tweaks, game loading, tweaks..etc. to go..then, back into Skyrim with a vengeance!! :D Glad some people are doing OK with Win10, it just wasn't meant to be, for ol' Squashy!

Well, Squashy just spent the better part of the day Upgrading..and finally tried playing Skyrim. There's a chance he will have to go over all his .ini's, settings and such, because the game has taken to performing CTD's..again. Before the update, no CTD's for 4hrs of solid gameplay, so, something didn't make the transition.. (besides Squashy's Internet Security Suite / nVidia Drivers / Sound Drivers / general settings.. :P ) Squashy will try working with it for awhile and see where it leads. Sure miss being able to make the Desktop Icons smaller.. :( (come to think of it, don't think that has been an option since xp, but, as Squashy still has an xp antique he uses for surfing sometimes, he keeps seeing those cute tiny Icons. ) Thanks for your input! Hope this helps others who are on the fence about 'going for it', with Windows 10!

In response to post #28805459. #28807169, #28807474, #28807489, #28809154, #28809529 are all replies on the same post. In THAT case.. Squashy was afraid it would be another 'fresh start' type deal. If it's just a standard Nexus "worry-free" update, then, mayybee.. ;)

In response to post #28791064. Well.. Squashy was one of those, who were surprised by the Update's complexity. He went and posted a note that was not quite Flaming. ;) Well, Squashy is back to say, (after only 15 SOLID hours of reloading/reorganizing all his mods by hand) , that, once you figure what you are doing with this critter, it's not so Bad! The only problem that aggravated Squashy , was the slow processing of some large texture mods. They would start out ok, 'unpacking' to '50%' then, Hang there for 10-12 MINS!! Plus the fact that, since a 'S**t-Ton' of people are now working on their own repairs/replacements/reformats/etc. , the download server is Swamped! Squashy's average NMM-DL was 224 kbp/s ALL DAY! So, good luck to everyone who has to deal with this, a lesson should have been learned by ALL! "TL ; DR is NOT an option!" "RTFM is the ONLY option!"
-
Add Squashy to the "TL;DR" list here.. :wallbash: As a long time user of NMM, Squashy just thought,"OK, another 'bug-fix'." and went ahead and updated. Now, with 374 mods in NMM list, having had 276 actually enabled, and 246 of those being plugins... Not to mention not having backed up the Load Order, (which LOOT will attempt to correct, with poor results :pinch: ) Yup! As a Supporter and Purporter of 'RTFM', Squashy really missed the boat..maybe even the dock, this time!

Squashy is wondering how the people who have upgraded to Windows 10 are enjoying  , (or NOT enjoying :pinch: ) , playing/modding/etc., Skyrim with this new OS? Squashy is using win7 x64..so, the difference is likely to be significant. As an Android Phone user, Squashy expects Win10 to be similar in usability/application. To be honest, Squashy is not a fan of his phone.. :P The 'apps' have a habit of doing strange 'tricks' that are/were unexpected, sometimes! Squashy's biggest fear is; after upgrading and testing,..he might not like it!! Then, he will have to do a clean install of his Win7...which probably will cease to be supported by Microsoft in 2yrs!! :( Anyways, please offer any of your experiences, good or bad, here.

Is one gender 'double-dipping'? Squashy's in the 1st (gender) 7th (age) and a Seriously Competitive "Non-Modder"!

It seems there is an NMM update, from 55.4 to 55.6..but, when trying to update there is a failure notice. Guess we wait till later, hmmm? ;) PS: Squashy only posted here because he has broken his 3lb Sledge Hammer, burned down half his house while messing with the Breaker Box, and murdered half his plants with the smoke...or..was that,'smoked half his plants with murder on his mind?' What? nevermind...

Be kind to the Monkeys! @(^o^)@ (that's it,.. just treat 'em well and everything will work out  )

TES5Edit can't complete background load..
Squashnoggin replied to Squashnoggin's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thankyou both for the help! :D As it happens, just last night Squashy figured out what it was... "Stoja's Warpaints" : [http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60769/?] The 'plugin' version has an entry in Tes5Edit of '0000000' , which basically corrupts the mod. Squashy figured this out, because he also gets a 'file is damaged' type warning from Wrye Bash. So...there's yer answer!! (Squashy has sent a message to the author of the mod, hoping he, or the author of the 'plugin', will be willing to fix it, as the mod is a 'pretty' good one! ;) ) -
Hi! Squashy got tired of wrestling with M.O. and went back to NMM... All was fine till Wrye Bash reminded Squashy about some itm's in The Eyes of Beauty Mod. So, Squashy fired up TES5Edit and ... this showed up at the very end of the 'background load' : " Background Loader: Fatal: <EAccessViolation: Access violation at address 007952CC in module 'TES5Edit.exe' " So, Squashy backed off a few mods that he had added recently, then some more, then..decided to ask for help! As the Mod authors have gotten tired of answering questions on their 'help' thread, Squashy decided to ask here. Help Squashy, Please!?! EDIT: Oh, and Squashy read the part where A/V's can cause problems with TES5Edit, (especially with kaspersky, which is Squashy's A/V ) , So Squashy turned it off to run TES5Edit, again and again...same result..

Thanks, *cdcooley*! It was making Squashy crazy...and Squashy is crazy enuff!! Now, Squashy is 'standing beside himself with anger"... :ermm: Unfortunately, that didn't work, so, no Morskom boat for Clyde.. He'll just have to make do with the Serenity, ..if only it would stop dumping him in the water when leaving Seapoint Settlement.

Hi! Squashy has a problem in which his Player/Character has completed all repairs/building stuff, but, can't cut the last tree/saw the last plank for the "Boat items"! So, it won't sail. If there is a code for the planks for the console, it would be much appreciated, as this is the 2nd time Squashy has run this character through the whole process + done a number of other things, hoping the "tree chopper" might reset itself. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Hi! Recently, 2 days ago to be exact, My game began crashing to taskbar, (not complete crash), and must be clicked on there, then I use Cntrl/Alt/Delete on it and 'cancel', then it runs fine. I have tried starting with the default Skyrim exe icon and all's fine, but...SKSE doesn't start. I don't think I should have to use the end run, do you? I thought maybe it was a recently added mod, but, I have added/subtracted nearly all my mods, 1 @ a time, to no avail. I am running the newest SKSE, (1.6.6), and it was fine till 2 days ago... Any ideas?

I don't think it's an intentional "disease"..I think it's just a "%" or a " / " in the wrong place... There are a few hitches in the game code, that haven't been addressed by either Bethesda or the "Unofficial Patch" Modders...yet. If the console command works for you, as it has for me, well..there ya go!!
-
Thanks so much!! You don't know what it means to me to have the claw...er..the eyes back to normal, again!! edit: proof positive that even what seems to be the worst thing that could happen to you often has a simple fix!!

I also have this problem... the "Blue Laser Beam" eyes glitch!! It happens to my characters EVERY TIME THEY REACH LEVEL 20!! I have had it happen 3 times now, ( I scrapped the characters, thinking I had done something wrong...), But, it keeps coming back! I am using "The eyes of beauty" + "Eye colors with new eyelashes" together. I have had these installed together for a long time, and my 2nd/3rd characters had no "glow" problems. Only in the last week or 10 days, has this glitch come up. I have tried removing/replacing, (with a fresh download and a complete cleaning of the Data files), to no avail. :( I am new to modding, and mod use, so, I am at a complete loss. PS: I have already done a complete scrub of all Skyrim files, both in Steam and In all my folders about a month ago, (@ the time, I was trying to deny Dawnguard DLC from loading, as I am not a fan..) Since that time, I have been adding mods carefully and one at a time, so I can find out if they 'play well with the others' ! Other than keeping the installed mods up to date, I haven't added any for a week, now. (Not that I haven't seen some I really wanna try!!) :woot: PPS: I also thought it might have been my armor choice, ( I recently found SilverLight/SilverNight ), but, like you, I tried removing it... A: from my inventory B: from my mods..to no avail.. :(
