Oh snap. Anyone have any suggestions on a new video card? For around $200-$300?

^^ thanks man! speaking of tools... What are your thoughts on using Texture Optimizer and Mod Complex Optimizer? I ran them both (Texture Optimizer took forever), and afterwards my game was totally messed up. I got all kings of warnings: SKSE not running, Skyrim version 1.9.32 required, PapyrusUtil not found, etc... and a bunch of mods lost their version #'s and were incompatible with others that required them, like FNIS was reduced to version 0.0.0 and anything that required it threw up errors. Ugh. I'm thinking it was the Mod Complex Optimizer that did it, but I'm not sure. Regardless I'm currently starting over and reloading my stuff. B4 I try either of those utilities again I'm just going to archive the entire \skyrim & MO\mods directories.... Will take a while but damn it will be worth it.

Man what a job reloading this game is. All mods updated, found some things I was doing wrong before. Swapped some mods for some others. Will probably have to chop a few like the above poster said. Gotta make some choices. Stress test ran fine last time I ran it, but I just said the hell with it and loaded the rest of my mods up. If the stress test bombs I'll be making those hard choices ;) Also learned a few things, mainly how to merge smaller mods together to cut down on the esps. One thing I found I was doing wrong: I never loaded the SKSE scripts. I always installed SKSE, and thought that was it, but I use MO and apparently you have to install those scripts like a mod through MO. Surprised my game ran at all like that. So far I haven't screwed with any settings, aside from disabling fog (to fix a half-a-black-screen) and one or two other tweaks as recommended by mods. Spent over 2 days doing this, I swear I think it's more fun getting everything to work right than it is actually playing the game... sometimes. Atm I'm running the Optimizer Textures tool which will be going for probably a couple of hours; that tool takes forever, especially when it gets to Interesting NPCs. Maybe I should've moved that mod out of the MO directory first.... Thanks again for all the help and comments guys, this thread turned out to be very informative and has helped me out a lot.

I'll be checking out those camera tweaks. Had to take a break from this, wed-sat is my work week and the heat wears me out so I don't put in much time on the pc that half of the week. Been trying to get my skins & textures working right. Got the textures done (kind'a a pain), now I'm working on getting these tattoo mods working right together (major pain in the ass).

Been doing good with the speed testing so far. Do you know how to run Process Monitor if I am using Mod Organizer? I can launch Proc Mon just fine, but launching the game through it doesn't work b/c none of the mods will load due to MO's virtual directory system.
-
Yeah when I do a start-over I always check everything for updated downloads. One reason I hate starting over b/c it takes forever to check everything. Just checked for current ENBSeries and ENBoost in fact. I keep everything I use on a spreadsheet, including version #'s, listed in the order I install them, with 'gaps' in the listing every time I go on and do a stress/play test, to show that everything is good up to that point. I'm using ENBSeries .254 and ENBoost 5.0, which as far as I can tell are the most current. Updated SKSE to 1.07.01, and the unofficial patches to 2.0.5. I don't plan on changing any .ini's until everything else is done and working stable, then *maybe* tinker with those, but if everything is running stable when all is done, then that begs the question of why tinker in the first place? Here's a question: How in the hell do I run Process Monitor and make it visible in-game, if I'm running the game through MO? I'm guessing to use Proc Mon, I need to launch the game from within the utility, but then no mods will load since they are in MO's virtual directory system...

Hell to the yes post some settings. That's what this thread is about, tossing ideas back & forth and working out the kinks. I'm starting over from a fresh install, then loading a series of mods, then doing the testing/cleaning/merging/conflict-resolving process, loading some more, etc etc. I read that merging mods is basically the same as installing new ones, so I'm sure my current game is jacked up anyway due to orphaned scripts & what not. Plus there are some mods in that list above that I may want to swap out with some that I'm using, will have to check 'em out.

SKSE & memory tweak - check Stable UGrids - check ENB w/ ENBBOOST - I know I had it at one point, not sure if I still do. SPM - I have that, though have not been using it b/c I haven't figured out how to check it while in-game And no to the speed test. This is the first I've heard of that. And I'll try the 1.2 default setting and see if that helps. Would you mind posting a screenshot of your skyrim.ini & skyrimprefs.ini settings? ----------------------- Speed Test: lots of stuttering & slight freezes, crash after about 5 minutes.

^ Will try those, thanks. ----- I'm thinking there's something bugged about this fight I'm using to test. Here's how it goes: First, some goblins start scrapping with bandits (I think, though one just yelled 'for Solvengaard'). Once the goblins are killed and we fight the bandits, it crashes. This last time, I actually ran over to the goblins before they engaged. There were three of them, and they just hung out with us and weren't hostile for about 2 or 3 minutes. Then they turned hostile, got killed, bandits appeared and hello desktop. Maybe I should just leave the area for a while...........

^^ Not a stupid question at all. I'm still digging into TES5Edit and so far I don't know how to use it to find conflicts; I've been focusing on merging mods and doing test loads with it. For conflicts, I've been using MO which probably isn't the best way to go. I haven't merged very many mods yet. So far I have Midnight Breed, Ashara Imperial Outfits, Horker Strap On, and Cloaks of Lace merged together into one mod, and Estate Agents & Estate Agents Elysium Estate into another. Not 100% sure, but fairly certain those mergers are ok. At least, those mods seem to be working fine in-game. edit: found a manual for TES5Edit, or rather NVEdit which is the same thing. Think I know what I'll be doing tonight. Just applied the filter, and about 90% of the list is in the red :/

Ok, I have been trying to get this game running as smoothly as possible, and it has been running pretty stable. I made it to level 15, and now am getting a constant ctd when my followers & I get into a fight. First it was with a dragon, then after beating a dragon it was with bandits at Halted Stream Camp, and I can't get pass this ctd. My game is majorly modded and I have reached the limit, and so have learned how to merge mods using TES5Edit so I can use the mods I have installed. I am using MO. Any advice, besides "duh use less mods" would be greatly appreciated. I will of course use less mods if it comes to that, but not until after I've made a serious attempt to get the game working as it is, b/c right now, when it works, it's awesome to play. Here we go: System Specs: AMD Athlon II X4 630 Processor, 2.8ghz 8gb DDR3 RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560, 2gb VRAM DirectX 11 Mod List & Load Order: http://pastebin.com/Vf1X5jEY Skyrim.ini: http://pastebin.com/JGRWnwUn SkyrimPrefs.ini: http://pastebin.com/idyXCk17 Thanks in advance for reading all this, and many thanks in advance for any & all help!

How do you fix neck seams using Texture Blender in Mod Organizer? I have been at this for a while now and, while I think I might be on the right track, I only succeed in giving every female a black head. Either that, or after blending I notice no difference at all. Here are the skins I'm using, and I'm really not even sure if I need all four of these as I'm still not clear on how body & face textures work, but here ya go (this is also the load order currently): UNP Base Main Body v1dot2 from Dimonized. UNP Bouncing Boobs Women of Skyrim - Body Normalmap UNP Women of Skyrim - Normalmaps UNP Seamless Texture Blender There is a warning in the Texture Blender's description which addresses what I am encountering: "Texture Blender only works if you have a complete Face/Body Mod installed. If you're missing one of the folders below and Blend the Faces, you will end up with a Black Face for that specific Race." [/size] I double checked the folders mentioned and they are all there, so I'm at a loss as to how to get past this. Here's the method I was using to blend the neck & body: I made a \Data directory inside \Skyrim Mod Organizer, and unzipped the four mods above in there. I also created a \New Data directory for the output files. I ran the Blender and followed the steps on the tool's site. Zipped the output files and installed it as a mod in MO, moving it to the bottom of my load order so it would overwrite the other textures. I get black faces if I blended with some black in the preview pane, and I got no change at all if I didn't blend the black. Any help would be *greatly* appreciated. Thanks!

Hey everyone. I had this annoying bug crop up in my game and haven't a clue what to do about it. Whenever I craft something at a furnace, and it doesn't matter if I'm using the smelter, workbench, forge or grindstone, after crafting a second menu pops up with the four options: Dagger Bow Sword Greatsword. I have to click one to close the menu, but nothing else happens. I reloaded some previous saves, and the bug is persistent across my saves. However, it is not persistent when loading saves from other characters. It's not a game-killing bug or anything, but man it's annoying, especially when I have a bunch of work to do at a forge. My game is majorly modded with well over 100 mods installed, and I don't know where to start troubleshooting for this since it just happened all of a sudden. It's not like I just installed a mod then this came up. Thanks for any and all replies. edit: removed the second question. I'd rather focus on the menu thing and I'm hoping somebody has seen that before. Here's all the info regarding my system and loadout: BOSS did change the load order when I just ran it. Hopefully for the better... :/

My friend thank you for this, it has helped my game out immensely. I have a severely modded-out game with a rampant killer ctd, and this has all but stomped it out. Crashed once after about 4 hours last night, where before I couldn't go 15 minutes.

Hey all, my game's been ctd'ing since I finished that Night to Remember quest. Some googling revealed that it is a known problem that the game crashes during certain points once the quest is finished. I got passed those parts, and am now back in the inn, and it crashes whenever I try to leave the inn. My game is heavily modded, but has been running just fine up until now. Before I commit to reloading/testing my mods, I thought I'd drop a line here and see what kind of advice I can get before I head off to work for the day. I did run BOSS to try to reorder my mods and see if that made a difference during troubleshooting, but it didn't. My game is heavily modded, and I was about to list my mods here, but I just noticed BOSS had jacked up the load order big time. Several mods are loading before prerequisites, like SkyUI, so I will want to fix that later before posting. The game was running just fine before this quest though. Any ideas?
