  1. I had an idea over the weekend I want to be able to get npc's addicted to the skooma that I make. Problem is, from what i can tell, npc's don't need to eat. You drop food, they ignore it or try to give it back to you. I've looked around in the ck and see no way to give npc's the need to eat, drink and sleep. Only the player, which I think is stupid. Why give yourself all these handicaps when no one else get's cold, hungry, thirsty... But that's a whole different discussion. I'm here to see if it is possible, has it been done and if not I can start working on it. Maybe I'm missing something in the ck? Please point it out to me. Thanks.
  2. I followed your advice, and it worked like charm... ...for literally 90 seconds and my body and clothing disappeared and only a head was running around. Modding is not new to me. I've made mods for oblivion and never had these problems. Only half of my spells showed up with my race, and the ones that made it, had no effect. No more ck for me. I'm done with this. I wish you success, though and thanks for your help.
  3. Now that I think about it, it would probably be better to create another land to my liking and put in it what I want. That way, I leave the game alone and can go to the no-mans land and do some serious hunting. Thanks for the tips, gentlemen!
  4. ...and make this a hunting simulator. Is there some quick button to remove all men or does it have to be done, piece by piece, bit by bit?
  5. I made a race that has the males taking on the female role and the females taking on the male one. The most visual way to do that is to switch the walks. That'd be why I wanna do it. It's not a public release so nobody will see it. It's based off the Golden Saints from Oblivion Shivering Isles. The fems were the dominants. Thanks for your help. I'll give it a shot. tg08096- Your sig is dead on!! Thank you all!
  6. Thank you for your reply. Before I leave can you think of any way that I could get my character to switch gender walk? This CK is killing me!! Finally, I looked over your mod list for both Oblivion and Skyrim and discovered that you're responsible for 2 must haves, one for Oblivion (Tales fromElsweyr) and Skyrim (Mercy- an absolute must have!) Thanks for those and all others. I have nothing but respect respect for modders like you. You guys make these games what they become!!!
  7. I made a race and I want the males to walk like females and the females to walk like males. It's a playable race, not an NPC race and I can't figure out how to adjust or change the walking animations. Anyone know how to do it?
  8. Yea you see? The perfect anti-hero. A beer guzzling, carefree, average joe that finds out he's the chosen one. So far, I've only been able to play that line out with the skinniest body size. It's time to go in the other direction. I like to play as slackers... such as myself.
  9. This isn't a reply, but I figured I'd add my problem in here in case someone would like to answer. I follow that same tutorial to the tee. When I go to my new race, the only thing there is a head 100% of the time. I go to youtube for a tutorial on the same thing, follow it to the tee, and when ever I start adding the body parts to the head, all it does is add another copy of the same race with another head and no body. Does the ck even work?
  10. Just seeing if anyone would be interested in making one. Chubby women mod somehow allows the sliders to increase the size of breasts and bottoms. I was wondering how difficult it would be to do the same for the male mid section. What tools would be needed to do it?
  11. I wanna make a couple of small races. You can adjust the entire body but the head adjusts with it and the results are horrible. They just look like mini-people. The heads need to stay close to the average size while the body gets shorter and stockier. How would one go about doing this? Helmets are irrelevant. I'm a clothy. Awesome sneaks don't wear armor. A sneak in armor is a sneak expecting to be seen! Lol. What programs would I need to do this?
  12. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in making a very simple wood or bone short bow? There was one that was in OOO that was perfect. If there is one already available, please let me know. It only needs to be a resource. I'll do the rest. It's only for personal use, btw.
  13. Hi. I've made a race that are scholarly and artsy. The male walk doesn't fit with the males at all and I've been trying to find a way to do it in the ck. I thought it would be easy but I'm seeing nothing. I have a strong feeling that I'm missing something obvious. I figure that it's possible since the female Orcs walk like men and someone made a mod to switch them to the fem walk. That leads me to believe that a walk can be gender and race specific. Any thoughts?
  14. Well thank you for your work in getting this on the Nexus! I trust your taste and since I'm off tomorrow, I will find a hard copy (I'm old school, sorry) and get started tomorrow night! Congratz!!
  15. The biggest thing I miss from Oblivion is the ability to knock out or fatigue enemies. It was my chief play style. I was a poisoner/thief. I would either fatigue them with poison, or melee them to unconsciousness and then pick their pockets. My disappointment was bigger than than the planet Jupiter when I saw no way to do this in Skyrim. There went my whole plan of attack. So all that to say has this been done already? If not, I would love to hear some suggestions on how to go about doing it. I'm not really a big fan of the CK right now, but it's all we have until SkyEdit is done. My dislike for the ck is not the ck itself but my lack of familiarity with it.
  16. How about making the animals forms based on skills like 2 handed-bear, one handed-Sabrecat, sneak-Owl (Flight form), and a horker form for the water. Something like that. I wanted to make a new perk tree that branched into 2, one being shapeshifting and summoning or a tree that branched into 3, one being defensive. offensive, and sneak. But as of right now, you can't male trees. Kinda lame but there it is. Anyway, whatever you do, I'll be keeping up with this. Good idea!!
  17. No. It's just that it was the main thing that interested me. I'll pick it up, but later, once I see if all the things they say are accurate. Seems like now a days it's all about sales hype instead of truth. I've been so disappointed by the vast majority of games these past few years, that I find that I don't believe a word of hype around them. But I have to admit that I like what ginnyfizz said, and at least I don't have to take steam up the backside to play this one. That's reason enough for me to go buy it.
  18. And just that fast, my interest in this game disappeared.
  19. Very informative interview. I love his view on the single player experience and couldn't agree more. I was so happy to hear that! MMO's have their place in the market, but the single player game is the meat and tatters of the industry. This is an understanding that a gamer, not some suit, would grasp. All suits want is a quick buck and I believe they have ruined much of gaming. I wish they'd leave the industry and run off and find something else to screw up. I really hope that the young people that he is working with will continue in his footsteps! Down with the suits! Up with the gamers! Thanks for linking that!!
  20. so you've never tried steam? its free you should at least use it before you passing judgment on it. I have used it. All the games I ran with it, ran very slow. One of them had missing textures and meshes. When running the same games without Steam, they ran flawlessly. my connection is fine. Achievments, chatting, and all the other stuff is completely useless and pointless to me. I don't hate steam, I don't like steam. Its just out there. I have no reason to have it. I have since purchased Skyrim, didn't update it and run it through the exe. Works great and is a very fine game. Once again, running it through steam resulted in poor performance. Once again, there is no reason for me to have steam. No hostility toward steam.
  21. I don't thinks it's about boycotting. He just doesn't want Origin on his pc. I've never dealt with Origin but there is no way I would tolerate my pc being invaded. Same thing with Securom. My encounter with that is what turned me against any type of drm that implants itself in you personal computer and runs through it and decides what programs it believes you can have. I don't even have Skyrim because of steam, and it's not near as invasive... supposedly. That choice isn't about a boycott. It's about me controlling what I own. I can see his point exactly and I totally agree. Edit. My apologies. My wife was talking as I got to the bottom of the post. It is about a boycott. If it's origins, I join you. The state of pc gaming and drm is intolerable!! Personally, I'm more than ready to give up gaming, period.
  22. Hopefully Dark0ne gets interested in it. That's the main reason I posted. Of course what ever he decides is fine with me. I just thought it could be a good time to look at an additional game since Skyrim modding is a bit in the air since steam seems to be Bethesda's preferred mod access point, now. Ken Rolston! That's him! I was very happy to see that he's determined to keep a strong RP element to the game. Of course, these days, you never know what kind of game you'll get and what kind of modding features, until after release. Lol. I've personally found more to be disappointed with, than happy about with many of the games these days. I remain hopeful about this. It really seems that Schilling and Rolston are concerned with the players enjoyment. We'll see...
  23. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is an upcoming game for PC and consoles from EA. It's to be released Feb 7, 2012 (So far) I can't remember the guys name and I'm too tired and lazy to look it up right now, but he was the lead designer of Morrowind and Oblivion. In a couple of statements released today by Curt Schilling, the game will not be tied to any one outlet. The plan is to release it on as many outlets as they can get- Steam, D2D..., as well as hard copies. So far there is no mentioning of needing anything running in the background in order to play it. You will be able to buy it through steam, but you won't be forced to run it in order to play. There is also a full construction kit planned. Curt stated that he plans to allow a fully modable game because it creates a great community and years of gameplay. If he sticks to this and makes it happen, this will be my new series! The 20 minute gameplay/preview is excellent and has me very interested. It can be seen on Youtube. This would be a perfect game for Nexus!! Sorry if this has been posted or mentioned somewhere else.
