  1. Press the favorites key, highlight the weapon/spell/shield using the forward/back direction keys and press left mouse/right mouse without moving the mouse to equip/unequip the item. I use a shield in the left hand and a sword on the right. I preselect the spell I want by highlighting it and closing the favorites menu. Now when I need to fry someone at range with a spell I simply hit the favorites key, press right mouse (for my right hand) to ready the spell, close the favorites menu and cast. pressing 1 unsheathes my sword for more close combat action. Also you can carry a shield and bind it to 2 like i did. 3 is my main destruction spell for equipping to the left hand for sword and spell.
  2. Use this mod to reenchant various artifact weapons. Enchantable Weapons
  3. If you still have a save game before you completed the quest to get the housecarl, try disabling the Hjerim chests mod. Remember to remove all your stuff from the chests first. I've found that mods that alter the player houses conflict greatly with the various housecarl quests resulting in bugged or outright missing housecarls. Simply disabling the mods before you complete the housecarl quest then saving after you get the housecarl then enabling the mods will fix your housecarl problems.
  4. Another option is the Interface Hard Coded Key Tweaks mod. I use 1.3 and this to remap all my keys to the locations I want it to be.
  5. You're diseased. Go to a shrine to get back up to full health. You probably have Rockjoint. You can also drink a cure disease potion. As for armor, the only time i see armor stats go down is I have the perk that grants me bonus to armor if i am wearing all heavy/light and I put my circlet on and forget to put my helm back on.
  6. The only known way to reset a dungeon that you have already visited is if there is a quest in said dungeon. Then the dungeon will reset to your level when you enter it again with the quest active.
  7. to get followers to use any item, even items worse than thier starting equipment like light armors for heavy armor wearers, simply 1. Remove all items that you have given them so thier inventory window is blank. 2. open the console and left click on them to bring up thier id code. 3. type "removeallitems player" without the quotes to force them to remove thier items and transfer them to you. 4. close console and talk to them to transfer items. Be sure that you transfer all bows, weapons and armors in one go. The moment you close the trading window any armor pieces that are missing will be regenerated back to thier starting gear. Also, should you ever need to remove thier bows for whatever reason, trade to them a temporary bow that is better than thier starting equipment to prevent them from regenerating thier starting bow. Note that when you transfer anything they will again look like they are wearing thier default armors but that is just a visual bug, thier starting gear are not actually back in thier inventory.
  8. Working as intended, It's supposed to simulate slower time while in combat even though the time scale does not change, something like this Dynamic Timescale mod, As it is currently coded, in combat regen is 33% of your current regen rate. In the OP's example he has +200% regen for a total of 300%. So when in combat he drops to 100% regen. In experimenting with my Sorceress I have found that cost reduction enchantments is more effective especially as a destruction spellcaster. I do however keep magicka regen enchanted items on me and use them whenever I activate my buffs. I simply cast my buffs and wait for my magicka to regen then switch to my destruction gear and deep fry everything. Edit: If you want to have magicka and stamina the same in combat and out of combat then the Magicka and Stamina Combat Regen mod is your ticket.
  9. fast travel back to where you left Shadowmere, it may be there.
  10. Rather than use a hotkey I instead open the favorites menu then press up or down to highlight the desired weapon and press the mouse button to ready it to that key. You don't need to move the mouse cursor to the weapon, just highlight it. It works well with spells also.
  11. check the users directory in C: the my documents folder might just be hidden. You can also try doing a search of the c: for a directory called skyrim. then look for a folder called saves in the skyrim folder
  12. The reason your screen is pausing a long time when opening chests is because you have a lot of items in the chest. Bethesda games have a limit which if you exceed it, it will start paging data to the swap file slowing things down. To minimize this, separate things into different containers and try to keep the items in a container to 3 or 4 full scrolls ( as in if you have to scroll down 3 or 4 times you may be starting to overload the system) It's an old Bethesda bug that has never really gone away. Skyrim seems to have less capacity than oblivion with it's 255 item limit before paging. Hope this helps. By the way, Breezehome has a lot of containers you can use to divvy up your items aside from your Chest in your room, like the 2 cupboards in the corridor outside your room, the dresser and end table in your Housecarl's room, as well as several containers downstairs.
  13. Not sure if this is viable but try using a usb keypad that have pgup/pgdown keys. The laptop keyboard might be the culprit. Or if you can connect a fullsize keyboard via usb try using that.
  14. Are you using the enchanting table in breezehome mod? If so that mod prevents housecarls from spawning. Simply disable the mod temporarily by going to the data files section in the Skyrim Launcher and unchecking it, Finish the quest to become Thane and she should be near the door to exit the castle. Talk to her and then save the game (preferably in a new file) then exit and re-enable the mod. All of the guy's mod does this so you will have to disable them whenever you are about to become thane to get the various housecarls.
  15. You are running update 1.2 ? 1.2 update is seriously bugged, revert back to 1.1 This thread will help you revert to 1.1 Or this thread as well.
  16. That looks like a glitch. If you were in someone's house try loading one of the earlier autosave (in the pc there are several usually 3) when you first entered the house. Make sure the thumbnail shows the house. then immediately exit and see if the glitch happens again. If there is no other autosaves then you will have to load one of your earlier saves to continue playing.
  17. type player.moveto a2c94 to go to wherever Lydia is. or a2c94.moveto player to make her appear to you. she may also have died so to resurrect her type: resurrect enable <--- to restart her AI scripts
  18. I would recommend the following bugfixes as a must in addition to the requisite 4gb LAA fix. To Enable them go to your My Documents\My Games\Skyrim and open the open "SkyrimPrefs.ini" in notepad then search for [Launcher] under it write "bEnableFileSelection=1" so it will look like this: [Launcher] bEnableFileSelection=1 <-------- the line you added Ebony Armor Matching set Fixed Fixes the heavy armor Matching Set perk so it applies to Ebony Armor. known bug Ebony Blade Fixed This plugin fixes the 'Ebony Blade' weapon so that it properly gains damage bonuses from the Two-Handed perks, rather than the One-Handed perks as it does currently, as well as making the weapon considered Ebony for the purposes of the Ebony Smithing perk and adding a recipe for upgrading the Ebony Blade at Grindstones. Headsman Axe Fixed This plugin fixes the 'Headsman's Axe' weapon so that it properly gains damage bonuses from the Two-Handed skill and related perks, rather than the One-Handed skill as it does currently, as well adding an upgrade recipe for the Headsman's Axe at Grindstones. Esbern Quest Fix Gives you a few directions on how to extract the files from the BSA yourselves as uploading unmodified files is not allowed. Extracting the required voice files fixes the massive problems that causes this quest to break. I also recommend the following as addons for missing content that i think should have been in the game from the start. None of these are unbalancing and are all lore friendly. Dragonbone weapons Adds dragonbone weapons to the Dragon crafting recipes with several options for looks, strength and difficulty in crafting. Arrowsmith Adds arrows to the crafting recipes. Jewelcraft Adds several missing jewelry pieces. Made by a real life jewel crafter. Lost Art of the Blackmith adds every missing weapon and armor improvement recipe to Skyrim. Useful crafting recipes for Silver weapons, royal armguards, lockpicks, work axes, and Imperial light armor are added as well. None of these changes anything, simply fixes bugs or add content that i believe needed to be added due to thier glaring omission in the vanilla game. Finally, when you get your own house and are tired of it's default looks, you can try your own hand in redecorating it! This forum entry explains it all. Renovate your house with the console as well as this page to get the formID of the items you want to generate. I recommend using the norepawn items for containers to prevent the loss of your hard earned loot. PlayerHouseChest, FormID 000F3923 is also safe. So enjoy and have fun!
  19. Maxing smithing to 80 or 100 early will get you the ebony/deadric/dragon crafting skills but you will be unable to craft anything because ebony ingots don't appear in vendor loots until mid 20s level.
  20. thanks, question answered. Can a Mod please lock this topic.
  21. When I make a new character I go to my user/documents/mygames/skyrim folder and rename the saves directory to saves charactername. Then i make a new folder called saves. Now whenever I feel like playing another character I simply exit game, rename the saves folder to saves charactername, then rename the character's folder that I want to play to saves. Simple, easy and it resets the game's memory usage whenever i restart the game so there is no possibility of data contamination between characters. It also preserves the auto and quicksaves of each character.
  22. Did you do a load after you bought it then bought it again? that sometimes bugs Hjerim. If you are doing a load always load from the main menu ( as in exit to main menu then load the save from there) don't load from the pause menu, the pause menu load does not reinitialize the active cells. Meaning for example if you save then buy from a vendor and bring his gold down to 10 from 1000 and load the save game, his gold will still be at 10. Loading from the main menu seems to clear up this problem. The items you bought should appear the next time you enter the house. Did you finish the Blood on the Ice quest? If you haven't the secret room will still be a bloody altar and the enchanting and alchemy tables won't appear. Were you able to buy the clear the blood from the house service? did it clear the house of blood? if no then the quest is not done yet.
  23. Yup, waited until the Jarl finished talking. I remember from my first character (a Male Imperial Mage knight) that Lydia will approach you as you get to the door to whiterun. With this character she never appeared so I went an looked everywhere in the castle without exiting to a new cell. no Lydia. Anyways will start a new character with the same stats as this and see if i get this bug again. Since it's at the start it should be no problem but it's a very strange bug.
