  1. I like the idea of kooky randomised encounters - I'd LOVE to see the Moira Brown just wandering around in NV. It'd be cool if there were 2 versions of her - 1 which spawns if you didn't blow up Megaton, and one that spawns if you did.

Of course, NV doesn't get access to your F3 save files/variables (as far as I know), so it would need to be based on your Karma or something like that.

Or more Wild Wasteland Encounters that only spawn if you have a certain Karma, or maybe depending on your rep in any given town/area?

    Imagine this:

    - You have low karma, and you have a poor rep in Goodsprings: You try to sell gear at the General Store, but the storekeeper now has a body guard: The Duke himself. (NOT, NOT NUKEM ;) ) Every time you walk in, The Duke says: "We don't serve your type around here. May as well walk on back out o' the shop, (feller/missy)." and you are immediately 'transported' out of the shop.

    - You have good karma, and you have a poor rep with The Legion: You decide to storm Cottonwood Cove, but some guy called Brian spawns and starts talking to you just as you walk past the crucified people at the entrance. He gives you a heap of various healing chems and says in parting: 'Always look on the bright side of life!'

    The mind boggles.

  2. You can grab some more Wild Wasteland Madness from my mod at

I have only done from Goodsprings to Nipton in this FINISHED version. Consider it a 'Stand-alone Demo'

Another *different* version will cover the whole game (i.e. you won't be 'spoiling' the final version, because the final version won't feature the same encounters as this one).

If you guys could check it out and let me know what you think, I'll give you playtesting credit and an ingame reference in the final version. :)

  3. My first console was an Intellivision(!), and my first computer was a Spectravideo. Instead of keys, it had rubber buttons (like a cheap calculator)- and the (detachable) joystick was part of the keyboard!!! It's hard to describe the plastic wonderfulness of my Spectravideo SV318 - but I always wished for the SV328, because it had standard raised keys made of plastic - not rubber!

A person's childhood should never contain the sentence "Well, I suppose it's not too bad. I mean, If I had a ZX81..."*

My favourite joystick to this day is the Atari 2600 single-button - I broke three of them playing Street Fighter II on the Amiga!

Drazur says: LAST NINJA MOVIE - DO IT, DO IT NOW!

Hey, do kids still have fistfights over 'their' console's superiority?

    * For anyone under 30 - the Spectrum ZX81 didn't even have keys. Pure touchpad action, all the way. It was like using a microwave keypad with both hands!
