  2. I updated to 1.6 and noticed certain mods weren't working quite right. I had to move them to the end of the load order again and all was well. I think I've pretty much had to do that with every patch so far.
  3. What patch are you running? 1.6 goes with Point Lookout and should fix the CTD issues that came with BS/1.5.
  4. It's FO3Edit, not FOMM. Rename to FO3Masterupdate.exe, run. It will flag all of your enabled .esps as master files. Supposedly you don't need to do it anymore with 1.6 though.
  5. I had an issue similar to what you're describing. It seemed to only occur when I got up around ~100 enabled mods, even though the limit is supposed to be 255. I used the FO3 Plugin Utility to merge some esps and get me under the magic number. No problems since then.
  6. If there's no esp or esm, you don't need FOMM. Just unzip the textures/meshes folders into your Fallout 3/Data directory and when it asks to overwrite, say yes. Make sure AII is activated, and also that bInavlidateOlderFiles in your fallout.ini is set to 1.

  8. I thought it might be the same, but it seemed different somehow, like due to the size she couldn't walk the terrain correctly. Not sure if that makes sense. She is back if I leave and return so not a big deal.
  9. A couple of things I noticed: A missing mesh for something in the Ballton's house. It's on the 2nd floor on a table against the wall. Other than that it's awesome and the best thing out there. Thanks

  11. I am trying to trigger a menu with results for different buttons, the result being another message followed by initiating a conversation. BEGIN GameMode ;buttons are in menu triggered by dialog set Button to GetButtonPressed If (button == 0 ) If DoOnce == 0 ShowMessage abc123 Set DoOnce to 1 aaaxyzref.StartConversation Player topicabc123 endif There are 2 more buttons after that which obviously lead to different messages and conversations. I have tried the If DoOnce's and Set DoOnce's in different places, and I can get the message abc123 to show, but it keeps showing over and over after I hit OK. It will either do that or not show at all. I can't get the conversation to start if I leave the showmessage in, and when I don't see the conversation. First of all, hopefully that made sense, and secondly I am hopefully making a n00bish mistake here and someone can correct me. Thanks Thanks

  14. Is there a way to have more characters in the response text box? I have tried the "bAllowExtendedText" option in GECKCustom.ini but it doesn't appear to work, and resets back to 0 every time. Alternatively, is there a way to have the response immediately go to another topic without PC input? That would accomplish the same thing, I think. Having a character in dialogue give some more exposition than can be fit in 150 characters. I'm sure I've seen mods do this, but I can't think of one to check how they did it. Thanks
  15. I did finally find the file (yahoo found it, google didn't!), on geck's wiki site: http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Image:GECKReadme.txt it worked.

  17. I am unable to update to GECK 1.5 due to an error message: Patch Error Old file does not exist The ridiculous thing is that the file it is halting on is "GECKreadme.txt". I have no such file nor could I find one anywhere. Creating a dummy one doesn't fool it, it sees the name is the same but the contents are different. Any ideas on this? Thanks
  18. Like many others, I had issues getting BS to start after finishing the main quest. It would play the ending movie and then crash. Here is how I have managed to get BS started. I am running Fallout 3 version 1.0.15 patch, + Fake Patch, + UF3P, and tons of mods from this site (MMM and FWE are the big ones). 1 - Download and check "Free Play After Main Quest". Finish the main quest with this enabled, but *without* Broken Steel enabled (this may be optional, but it seems safer). 2 - Quit the game, restart with FPAMQ disabled and Broken Steel enabled. For me this interrupted my character in the middle of the wasteland with the regular ending movie, and then dumped me in the Citadel sick bay (there were fits and starts with the scripted dialog- talking to Lyons, then waking up in sick bay, then getting told to take it easy, but it all panned out, YMMV). I never was able to finish the MQ normally and proceed with BS enabled before activating the purifier. 3 - The first 'quest' is to go speak to Rothchild. I also had the problem where he would tell me to stand in front of the map but the script wouldn't trigger. a. Open the console and type "SetObjectiveCompleted DLC03BS1 10 1" without quotes. This will skip the Rothchild conversation. Next, type "SetObjectiveDisplayed DLC03BS1 15 1", again without quotes. This will give you the next quest objective. Once you reach the destination you will have to do a console unlock on the door, as I assume you were supposed to receive it from Rothchild. I am up to the "Who Dares Wins" quest and everything seems fine so far. I have not proceeded beyond lvl 20 yet so I don't know if there will be a problem when I do. There may be a more elegant way to accomplish this same thing, but hopefully it helps someone. Stay thirsty, my friends.
  19. I have this problem as well, although I do not expect many games to respond well to alt-tabbing these days. Oddly enough, it worked perfectly before the first patch.

  21. 0$ for production? Seriously? The people who make the thing don't work for free you know. So no, they couldn't give it away for free and break even. Make it 5$ and no GFWL, and you have a point. As it is, you are ignorant at best.
