(Please read entire thing before offering a suggestion to make sure I haven't exhausted the said fix already) This is a common problem with a common fix which works for everyone, except me. I shoot at something with an arrow or a ranged spell, it goes right through like a hologram. I'm not missing, I would have known. I've hit some pretty obvious targets including mammoths only to get the same result... and I've tried many times so that theory's a dead horse. Btw, I am seeing the arrows go through... it's not that the target is half a province away and I see the arrow disappear into the horizon... the enemies aren't so far... and I see the arrow go through them fair and square, but it just doesn't count. The hit only gets detected if I shoot from like 15 feet away, it's absolutely miserable. It's like the game recognises the image of the target but doesn't recognise it as a physical presence. My PC automatically set the settings to high in accordance to it's own specs so that's not the problem either. This never happened in my first 2 games. I only recently decided to start a new game and hoped after 7 years there wouldn't be a lot of inconvenient bugs. Luckily, I wasn't alone with the problem at first. Every forum where this problem is brought up has the same fix, that is... open Skyrim.ini, add a line under a new heading as [actor]. I did end up alone when it turned out I was the special little guy for which the fix just wouldn't work. I tried this, and there was no typo because I copy pasted it from the internet. It works for everyone else who tries it, not for me. I launch the SKSE version using Nexus Mod Manager when I play, could it be that the launch isn't detecting the change in the ini file? I open the file again, my changes do get saved... but it seems the game doesn't at all recognise them.
