Issue resolved in post #2.
Trying to add Night Vision Power Armor 's NTPowerHelmetScript onto Chinese Stealth Armor so that when I turn on Pipboy Light on it turns on Night Vision rather than Pipboy Light, unfortunately I haven't gotten the results I'm looking for. Help is greatly appreciated. This is the altered script:Basically what I added was Player.GetEquipped DLC02ArmorStealthWasteland at the end of lines 21, 32, and 34. -
Can someone make a mod that reverts the changes done to Mark for Death on the USKP? Before the change you could stack multiple MfD now you can't and it basically eliminates the usefulness of the shout. Thanks.
-
Issue resolved... Apparantly Hearthfire Furnishing Fix mucks up the scripting, it's advisable to remove it.
Noticed some considerable slow downs with hearthfire. It takes 30s to a min for the quest/menu screen to update and instead of the addons made to the house immediately popping up it takes 30s to a min for it to appear.
Anyone knows what's up?

Hmm, where to start! Let's begin with your main mistake shall we? As per Arthmoor's instructions for the Unofficial Patches:
IMPORTANT!When upgrading, update EVERY unofficial patch you are using AT THE SAME TIME. Simply overwrite the files, run BOSS, and then load your game. Everything should drop into place nicely. Attempting to piecemeal update these patches will result in Bad Things.
If you are using the beta, you MUST NOT use a save that is currently using it. Reload one from before you began testing so that all of the retroactive fixes will take effect. Failure to do this will result in some fixes being ignored.
NMM users take note:
If you are getting an error about the BOSS API and then NMM tells you the mod has not been installed, you need to do the following:
Uninstall the current version of the USKP (and any DLC patches you're using too).
Delete their archives from NMM.
Close NMM, then restart it.
Download the new copy of the USKP (and the DLC patches).
Install those.
Set your load order.
This procedure should work. DO NOT load the game at any point during this.
You've updated the main Unofficial Skyrim Patch but not bothered to update the Unofficial Dawnguard Patch, Unofficial Hearthfire Patch or Unofficial Dragonborn Patch! You should also update Arthmoor's other mods as well (Run For Your Lives, When Vampires Attack) along with any other mods as well! Do you have the current build (1.6.16) of SKSE installed?
Why use a TES5MergedPatch? I'd suggest you use Wrye Bash's Bashed Patch instead, just make sure you use the 304.2 Beta version so that it handles the new Unofficial Patches correctly!
Once you've made sure all mods are up-to-date etc, run BOSS to set the correct load order (endure you update it's masterlist as well) and then create a Bashed Patch. At that point you can launch the game to see if the CTD issue is fixed or not.
My apologies my mind wasn't thinking straight. I meant to type I made TES5MergedPatch as well as Bashed Patch. I forgot to update the other unofficial patches. Thank you for pointing that out for me.
-
I've been noticing this for quite a while now, almost all my CTDs are caused near stable location of the big holds, and whenever I fast travel to a near location and walk to the area I always notice the Khajiit Caravans being there, however I've yet to resolve the issue so any help would be appreciated.
And yes, I made a TES5MergedPatch as well as delev/relev 'd with BOSS as well as using skyproc patchers as well as using the FNIS tool.
Here are the mods and load order I'm using;

Yeah, what ben said, definitely avoid giants. They see Skyrim as a golf course, and anything that it sees as aggressive as a golf ball. Unless you have an ungodly amount of health and defense, steer clear.
-
Everybody complains about companions, so you gotta use follower mods like AFT (Amazing Follower Tweaks), or UFO (Ultimate Follower Overhaul).
The reason is they provide functions that take care of certain annoyances such as making all followers use stealth (turn invisible) and never attack anything unless YOU get attacked, or order them to. These mods also address things like character spacing, so they don't push you out of the way, or block doorways, follower speed so your party resembles an actual team in close quarters, etc.
No the thing is I do use AFT but when your companion is just level 6 and mobs level +20 start charging at you, even if you had companion it would do little good.
-
Oh right, you'll be running SkyRe.
Well.. just have fun with it. :D
Off the top of my head a RP friendly Orc Smith would go something along the lines of this:
Main: Heavy Weaponry, Wayfarer, Smithing
Secondary: Speech, Enchanting, Heavy Armor
Other Info: Since you are melee based you'll probably want to get a magic based companion asap-- Eola or Marcurio does nicely.
-
I just had a concept for a new character that I like the sound of, but it needs fleshing out. It involves a lot of things I do not normally do :D
I was thinking of making an Orc (a race I never use) who seeks to create the ultimate weapons and armour (Smithing, Enchanting; skills I never use). He will need to go out a lot for raw materials (mining for ore, dungeon-diving to discover new enchantments to study). Will also follow rumours to discover powerful ancient artifacts to study them (eg Daedric quests, which I never do ). The basic idea sounds a lot of fun, but is outside my comfort zone (Breton Mage / Dunmer Spellblade). I could use a little help/advice.
Firstly, mods. I run SkyRe, otherwise I mostly just run STEP. Not sure if there are any additional mods that would enhance this concept, but well worth asking.
Secondly, I am really, really unfamiliar with Smithing/Enchanting, especially with the rebalance they received under SkyRe. Has anyone any advice to offer on making efficient use of these? Enchanting, in particular, seems difficult to make use of at lower levels. Do you just sit on it until later, or am I mistaken?
Thirdly, the character will need more than just those two skills to be able to do the exploration/questing. Since I will be making TEH ULTIMATE gear, it seems most sensible to use those powerful weapons and armour. For an Orc, Heavy Armour/Two-Handed Weapons seems the most obvious choice, but would they be the best choices for this kind of character? Are there any other skills I aught to use as support?
Any other RP suggestions?
What DLC if any will you be running?

Final (?) update:
Finished all three quest, gotta say it was easier than I expected. One thing is certain though, Werewolf >>> Vampire. I made Miraak my b&@*$ (specially after all the souls that POS stole from me) simply by spamming my lunge attacks. It's also worth mentioning that Atronach blessing made things a lot easier, 50% spell dodge is quite a boon to survivability also the fact that it grants a 50 mp bonus allowing me to have by bound bow summoned at all times (with a ring of conjuration I was able to mitigate the requirement early on, after my conjuration skill advanced little further I was able to ditch it completely.)
Damage (regular/sneak): 136/410
Damage+Dragon Aspect+Potion (regular/sneak): 190/572
My end game gear consisted of:
Ancient Shrouded Cowl (35% archery + looks good, 'nough said)
Guild Master's Armor (highest armor/weight ratio, +looks good)
Hide Bracer of Major Archery (need as much damage % as possible +looks good)
Nightingale Boots (100% muffle, +looks good, 'nough said)
Ring of Minor Archery (main) Namira's Ring (for +50 hp/hp reg blessing)
Kyne's Token (main) Amulet of Articulation (for persuasion)
Mehrunes' Razor (when all else fails swing like silly-- I used a mod to modify the proc rate to 10%)
End game spells/shouts/powers in order of usefulness:
Bound Bow (awesome spell for only 240 gold, quite a steal)
Shadow Cloak of Nocturnal
Dragon Aspect (+25 archery)
Beastform (dues ex machina)
Summon Arvak (awesome mount)
End game blessing:
Auriels' Blessing (10% archery)
End game shout:
Frost breath (+ Frost Aspect)
End game perks (same as last post)
Sneak: All the way up to Deadly Aim, Conjuration: All the way up to Mystic Binding
End game gear can be acquired fairly quickly (5-6 hours of game play)
As far as companions are concerned; they ended up being the bane of my existence -- constantly giving away my position, pulling out their torches right besides me, pushing me off ledges/into traps, etc. :( I would love to keep Serena around but it was too much hassle specially by the time it takes to tackle Solstheim.
-
With all the hassle of getting the book, the least the book can do is become reusable specially it being a daedric artifact.
-
so I recently finished the quest where you toss the guy's remains into the lighthouse fire to get sailor repose. after getting sailor repose buff i notice that the buff icon doesn't seem to disappear even after waiting several hours, fast traveling, save/reload, exiting/reopening Skyrim. Is there a way to make the icon buff go away?? For what's its matter I use SkyUI and Less Obtrusive UI.
The top right corner shows the buff icon that won't disappear.

Thought I'd give an update:
My PC relies heavily on a mixture of stealth, archery, and conjuration. If you haven't already guessed, my preferred spell is Bound Bow. If I'm not spotted, my PC does around 250 damage per shot. My preferred buffs, whenever it presents itself are Blessing of Arkay and Blessing of Namira which gives me a much needed boost of 75 HP. My only problem is dealing with Draugr Deathlord/Overlords.. those guys slaughter me so easily :( -- Draugr Deathlord archers in general only need to take 1 shot at me to kill me.
-
To quote from the page you linked:
- Clothes such as robes and other apparel do not count as armor, and as such do not benefit from the hidden armor rating bonus.
I would hazard to guess then that those two items "do not benefit from the hidden armor rating bonus"
Shoot, I wasn't even aware there was a hidden armor rating bonus.... Still learn something new each day.
Hmm but the thing is in the game, the Amulets are classified as light armor apparel, you'll notice it classified as much if you sort your items by type. So the amulets are technically counted as armor since they were sorted as such. Now whether they provide the hidden bonus is another thing.
-
They provide some armor rating yes. As for purposefully hidden or not, no idea.
Hmm, that wasn't what I was specifying but thanks. The question was whether they provide the hidden armor bonus that you get from wearing a specific body armor that provides armor rating.
-
Curious whether these two amulets provide hidden armor rating, thanks in advance.

How bout a B2P+P2P model? Buy the game which includes a 3 months access for 60 USD, after the access is used up, subscription based P2P model will kick into effect at a reduced price: 1 month = 4 USD; 3 month = 11 USD; 6 month = 20 USD.
Since it's not a pure P2P model, the price of subscription would be lowered by a significant amount allowing for softer pricing allowing more people access and continued support to the game.
The model can be further altered to incorporate aspects of F2P with cashshop items which would only allow the player base things that doesn't necessarily change game play but cosmetic changes and such. This should provide the company with a consistent stream of funds to support their servers and staff.
For people looking to try out the game before buying it, don't know if this is possible but... Beth could host a restricted server of sorts for demo'ing purposes (similar to diablo 1, which would cut off gameplay after beating the butcher I believe.) where the game for all intents and purposes plateaus after the first major game boss (but since this is dealing with multiple alliances it would probably be a boss of their specific alliance).. this would allow people that want to demo a chance to do that.. demo the game without actually committing their wallets to it.
-
I'd like a mod that would modify Sanguine Rose so that it only summons the final dremora Valynaz regardless of the player character's level. Thanks in advance.
-
Maybe do absolutely nothing except Conjuration. According to the calculator, hitting 75 Conjuration (and getting the Expert Conjuration perk) will take you to lvl 5. Dremora Lords will massacre anything at that level.
EDIT: As for the spell cost, maybe some Elsweyr Fondue and going Altmer might help.
EDIT2: Affording that tome may take a while though.
Alright, I tried what you suggested buuut.. it's not quite possible. The furthest you can get without leveling past 6 is 30 skill level give or take. At which point that throws a lot of potentially useful perks out of the window. Anywho here's the perk I'm running with: Sneak: Stealth 1/5, Backstab, Deadly Aim; Conjuration: Novice, Mystic Binding. On a side note I find it hilarious that Ebony Warrior would come and challenge me right after returning from Dustman's Cairn.
-

but then how would you be able to tackle ebony warrior :o
It could be yes, those are pretty tough early on. You could go with the complete hardcore route and likely impossible for most areas with an unleveler mod
let's be reasonable here lol.
-
Not necessarily, I mean assuming we take this through the Dragonborn DLC.. I'd say it'll be pretty challenging.
-
So I decided to give Skyrim another go this time with a challenge: the difficulty will be at adept, character must stay level 6, 5 perks must be taken before reaching 6. The challenge is to take this all the way through the main quest of the game (as well as the main quest through the dlc)-- is it possible? or an act of insanity.
Mods I'm using for this challenge:

Here's a few setups I think might be useful... maybe?

Need Help Adding Night Vision to Chinese Stealth Armor
in Mod Troubleshooting
Posted · Edited by smjn
Figured out what went wrong, I overlooked NTAnchorPowerHelmetScript. Making the modification there I was able to add NightVision to the CSA.
Though the Nightvision isn't perfect (has a tendency of fluctuating between turning on Pipboy Light instead of Nightvision), it is a definite welcome addition to the CSA.
