I still do not have a world-map character-position-arrow in the official 1.8 version. Do you know any solution to this? I've switched to using EzEs -Colored Map Markers- and it fixed the issue for me. It's a bit colorful for my taste, but it's functional and better than not having quest markers at all. Thanks iocaster - that dit it for me too! I chose the "Simple set" to avoid too many colors. Will endorse EzEs for this "fix" :)

I have the same problem. A bit of a challenge when you do not get your orientation and exact location on the map. Any solution to this?
